Deletion objection

[edit]

I refer to my previous objection... That is... if my studios is not 'noteworthy' then nor are 80% of the other animation/media studios listed on Wiki... such as the ones I listed previously. What constitutes noteability? The actual histories of animation, computer animation and digital animation on Wiki... are indeed very thin, I agree. I also see that Wiki does also just list 'things' too.

Maybe it is deemed that Bird Studios have not contributed enough to the industry, although I would disagree and again refer to the 'balance' of studios that Wiki does represent.

My argument is purely that Bird Studios is as relevant as most of the other studios that you list... excepting the obvious Disney/Pixar (maybe they are the only 'noteable' studios that should be included on Wiki) and that if Bird studios is deleted, then so should 80% of the other studios listed here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.37.116.124 (talkcontribs)

adding the naming guidelines to appropriate wikiproject pages

[edit]

Wikipedia:WikiProject Education in Canada has naming guidelines on their wikiproject page that really need to be ammended to fit in with the guideline, and I think that a naming guideline section should be added to Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools and Wikipedia:WikiProject Universities. I was hopeing you could help with this. The education in canada change isn't simple--they go into insane detail explaing WP:NC(CN), and I'm not quite sure how much should be added to the other two. Do you think you could make this change?

Also, could you weigh in at: Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (schools)#task force? Miss Mondegreen talk  09:02, May 31 2007 (UTC)

Done (Canada at least) and Done Adam McCormick 18:31, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you added to the WP School template at talk:The Petersfield School that the article should be moved to The Petersfield School (Petersfield, Hampshire). Are you sure? According to the discussion at WT:NC(S) we had established that the school is already in the right place. Camaron1 | Chris 20:21, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have also just noticed that Sheet Primary School has already been moved. Again, it is exempt from normal WP:NC(S) guidelines per a recent revision. Camaron1 | Chris 21:45, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The section in question is in the recently-added table of cases, and reads "When the location of a school is in it's name, no location parameter is needed unless there are two names and a parameter is needed to clarify." I just moved the articles on the request of others; I have no particularly strong feeling about this provision. Cheers, -- Visviva 01:35, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Moot, but I think that was an oversite that I corrected in my edit. Anyhow, won't matter til there are other schools by the same name Adam McCormick 23:46, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Template

[edit]

Adam, I notice that Bacchus Marsh College has an untouched schools template which says it needs an info box. Pretty sure that it used to default to "don't know" or at least "ok". Could you investigate as our resident template barnstar owner? (yes I am jealous). On another subject I notice that new arrivals into assessment are now more than are being assessed. I suspect this is inevitable ... but any ideas? Can we auto stub all infant and junior schools that are small? I think I could work up some rules for discussion if we we had a programming mentor (i'd like to learn) Victuallers 09:20, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

When I moved in the other template it changed the default, I'm going to fix it so that unassessed ratings will turn it off. The only way to do it automatically is to write a bot that could do a word and reference count. I could write the logic but I'm not framiliar with the language and rules. Adam McCormick 23:06, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Adam, added some stuff about "need" for the bot. Derby School is an example still of one where it says its required ... but its a B article. If you want more or different then please ask. Well done for tenaciousness Victuallers 22:05, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
