autobiography

[edit]

welcome. wikipedia is not a good place to write an autobiography.

To corroborate further on this anonymous fellow: Hi, welcome to Wikipedia! I'm Marblespire, one of the losers who keeps this site up and running.  ;) I wanted to drop by and explain the meaning of the "DB-bio" tag you removed from your page (and why, unfortunately, you'll probably find it returning). Wikipedia is an open-source encyclopedia, true, that anyone can edit, but we try to keep it slim and trim. With that in mind, we tend to delete articles about things people are unlikely to look up. For better or for worse, that includes you; you don't meet Wikipedia's standards of notability. The "DB-bio" tag is a simple way of alerting administrators about someone SO obscure that, at this point, we feel his/her article can be deleted out of hand. Don't feel bad; we're picky—there's only, like, 200,000 people in the history of the world who haven't got speedied. Also, this isn't to say that you can't have information about yourself on Wikipedia—we simply prefer that you keep it on your user page (click that link to reach it). In any case, that's the deal. Again, welcome. =) Marblespire 04:39, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

editing

[edit]

I've noticed you make a very large number of tiny edits to a single article in a short period of time. There's not really any problem with this but it's sort of annoying in the history window. If possible, please try to make all the changes together. Some guy 04:42, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

copyvio

I suspected all of your pages were plagiarised. Stop posting copyright violations immediately. Some guy 04:56, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

I was under the impression that public biographies were promotional material to be shared. My intention was not to violate copyright, but simply to share the information. In a few cases, I wrote the material on the source pages.

Awelker 05:00, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, sorry for being harsh then, but a copyright violation is a copyright violation. If the webpage you get the info from has a copyright statement (usually at the very bottom) the information is copyrighted unless otherwise noted somewhere else. Since you slightly changed the wording of many of the sentences of at least one of the articles I thought you were trying to avoid being caught through a simple copy-and-paste search. Some guy 05:12, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, if I changed words it's only because I thought they were grammatically incorrect or needed clarification. It's frustrating that to include a biography of someone you would have to basically rewrite it (since biographies are pretty standard in their writing it would take some work), but I guess that isn't your problem. It just slows down the process of filling out sparse areas of material. Awelker 05:15, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This article has been nominated for deletion (or has already been deleted). Don't be discouraged! Many of us have had articles deleted, especially early in our wikicareers. Deletion is not a reflection on your editing but simply the application of our standard rules, particularly WP:NOTABILITY (and WP:BIO for persons, WP:WEB for websites, WP:CORP for companies, WP:MUSIC for bands, and so forth.) Looking forward to your future contributions, Herostratus 19:28, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Jay Wadenpfuhl

[edit]

I have nominated Jay Wadenpfuhl, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jay Wadenpfuhl. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Alexius08 (talk) 05:43, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
