Sorry, I saw the note but didn't realize the transition was complete. I'm working with a script that marks them. I'll try to remember to do these tags by hand until the script is updated. I'll check and move the others I just tagged. Thanks for the heads-up! -- But|seriously|folks 21:16, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Trolling?!
How did you possibly think that I was trolling? I was expressing my frustration with the sometimes confusing wiki technology, asking for help, and you remove it as trolling? Come on. Maury 23:57, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Obfuscation
Hi! A discussion that references your User page is occurring at WP:VPP#Obfuscation. I'd love your input there, as we do not have any pro-obfuscation contributors at the moment. Simultaneously, if you know of anyone else with the potential to add to the discussion, please bring them in, as well. I'd like to come up with a coherent, consistent policy on this topic.

Thanks for helping with {{Uw-ublock}}, when it is added with WP:TW it does not provide the reasoning correctly. It should default to a standard "because it may be long/confusing, misleading, blah blah blah. The "di-fying" of various image templates
Hi, what's with the di- prefix you have added to a bunch of the image templates, and why are you creating new templates rater than just modifying/redirecting the old ones ({{no source}} vs {{di-no source}}, {{Needs rationale}} vs {{Di-no fair use rationale}} for example)? Just curious it just looks kinda random to me (guess I missed where this was discussed)... --Sherool (talk) 15:18, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, think I figured it out on my own, I guess with the new parameters and stuff some duplication is needed untill the old use have been phased out... I did some tweaks by the way, removed the Image: prefix from the generated boilplate to the notice templates seeing as it messed up the creation of talk page links in some of them, think I've also fixed all the notices to match, though you may want to double check. --Sherool (talk) 15:42, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

Non-free use disputed for Image:Main Page Draft 1600x1200 A.png
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Main Page Draft 1600x1200 A.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:04, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Problems with Twinkle
Hi! Whenever I try rolling back using Twinkle, I get a message similar to the following:
- Querying revisions.......
- Evaluating revisions to see if 81.82.79.167 is the last contributor...
- Finding last good revision... revision 144205645 that was made 2 revisions ago by 164.47.28.159
- Getting content for revision 144205645..............
- Grabbing edit form....................................
- Updating the textbox...
- couldn't grab element "editform", aborting, this could indicate failed respons from the server
This is the one I get when I use the rollback (vandal) button. I use the very latest version of Mozilla Firefox and I have all JavaScript enabled - what is causing this and how can I fix it?--Vox Humana 8' 13:55, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Twinkle tabs
Hi AzaToth. I'm interested in creating a new tab on the bar of tabs (discussion, edit this page, history tabs, etc). I'm asking you if you know how to do this, because Twinkle includes some new tab buttons (arv, csd, rpp, etc). Any help will be much appreciated. Kind regards, Sebi [talk] 01:31, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- You might like WP:US, it's got some great tutorials, one of which shows tabs. If you want a simple example, check out User:TheFearow/tagger.js, at the bottom it has a couple functions called by tabs, and the the bottom of the main function, the code to add a tab. Incase you didnt see:
addPortletLink("p-cactions", "javascript:easyTag()", "tag (t)", "ca-tagt", "Add tag (top)", "");
addPortletLink("p-cactions", "javascript:easyTagBottom()", "tag (b)", "ca-tagb", "Add tag (bottom)", "");

Problems with block notices
Your notices of the blocks you gave to G2bambino and to Tharkuncoll, yesterday, for 3rr breaches at "British monarchy" did not quite format properly. You might want to set them right, or at any rate make changes to your use of Twinkle or be alert to manually right what it gets wrong in the future, or both. - Yea, I noticed that, but I can't fix it until I get home tomorrow. →AzaToth 19:49, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- Cool. Also, you might want to show the "Result:" on the report at the 3rr noticeboard. Just curious: was that what brought the matter to your attention, or did you come across it otherwise? -- Lonewolf BC 20:19, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Ribbon
Hey Azatoth, I have always really liked the barnstar ribbons you make and think that they are true masterpieces of artistic talent (Me? Buttering you up for something? How could you tell?)
Anyway, seeing that my many somewhat dubious talents do not include any artistic ability whatsoever, I was wondering if you would be interested in creating a ribbon for the Copyeditor's Barnstar? Twinkle still breaks other scripts
Hi AzaToth,
the recent Twinkle bugs that caused incompatibilities with other user scripts persist: the uniq and dups functions are still added globally to every single object even if it is not related to Twinkle (tested with the latest SeaMonkey and FireFox). Please fix Twinkle! Cacycle 03:27, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- the qniq and dups functions are attached to the Array function, thus won't affect anything, as long you are not using for(var i in array), as it's not meant to work initially, you must use for(var i = 0; i < array.length, ++i) instead. →AzaToth 12:42, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- I cannot use that suggested construct because I also need the property names. It is your script that breaks other scripts and it needs bloating workarounds to make them compatible with Twinkle - please fix your script. Cacycle 16:03, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- when do you need the property names for an Array object in a loop? →AzaToth 16:50, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

- Ah, you are doing the common mistake by using Arrays instead of Object for hashes/ssoc arrays. →AzaToth 18:37, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- If it is a common "mistake" then you should fix your script as it might cause unexpected and difficult to track down malfunctions in other scripts. Feel free to explain me the difference between "Array" and "Object" for associative arrays in JavaScript. Cacycle 19:46, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Di-no license-notice
Hi, I reverted your change to {{Di-no license-notice}} since I don't see any discussion anywhere that the "Image:" prefix was to be removed. Also, because a lot of editors are using my User:Howcheng/quickimgdelete.js image script, your change caused the duplication of the "Image:" namespace (because I wasn't informed of this change). I don't mind the change myself, but I would like it to be consistent with {{image source}}, {{Missing rationale}}, {{Orphaned}}, {{No fair}}, and {{bsr-user}}. Note that {{Replaceable}} and {{GFDL presumed warning}} omit the namespace, however, so we really should come to some sort of consistent usage for all the image warning templates. howcheng {chat} 16:08, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
{{deletable image}}
contains a list of the replacement notice templates, if some is missing, please create it, but they all must use the same parameters. →AzaToth 17:51, 20 July 2007 (UTC)- I thin I know what the problem is now, it was meant that the old notice templates should still exist for a time for backward compabillity, but it seems I by some strange reason moved that one. RE: About Your Anti Bot Messages
if you don't want bot messages, add {{nobots}}
, instead of assuming everyone is bots. By assuming everyone are bots, seems to be a bit negative. →AzaToth 23:24, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- Yep. You are in effect making it difficult for people to contact you, and refusing to read potentially meaningful responses from users because you're not assuming good faith. That is not a very good attitude. Please consider changing your setup. >Radiant< 09:10, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- I am sorry to hear that. But I did not mean Anti-bots. I do want to receive bot messages, but it just that, I want to classify my messages into organized categories. So what do you think? Smcafirst | Chat at 14:00, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
Acid
Hi, I have found that you have created Template:Acid. We on cs.wikipedia are admiring this template. We think it would be usefull for our "Nomination of the Featured articles" (see w:cs:Wikipedie:Nominace nejlepších článků). We know that this template is using parser functions, so I would like to ask you if you think, that it would be possible to translate or convert this template on cs? --Juan de Vojníkov 18:23, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- Would be no problem, the basic template doesn't use any external templates, only parserfunctions. The only questionis how you write time, and if your time format it parsable by #time, or if you need to write time in "English" format. Also dependent on the check grammar, some definitions might need to be moved. →AzaToth 18:36, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
OK. Thanks. I will have a look, how we do that.--Juan de Vojníkov 20:09, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
Twinkle, and protected pages
Hi, twinkle is very handy. But it would be nice if when it was performing a bulk tag such as marking an image as not having fair use, that it not automatically edit protected pages when the user is an admin. I normally would not put a cleanup tag on a page that is protected because it is currently featured, but oops, I did[2]. Any chance of a "Don't edit protected pages" option? hehe, thanks. Twinkle (portuguese translation)
Hi AzaToth. You have done a nice tool. I'm translating some Twikle modules but I have some difficulties. At portuguese Wikipedia we put Articles for deletion in one page with the date of today + 7 days. For example, nominating a page today we should put that page in:
- english Wikipedia: Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Log/2007_July_21
- portuguese Wikipedia: pt:Wikipedia:Páginas para eliminar/28 de Julho (2007_July_28)
So I need to adapt User:AzaToth/twinklexfd.js code:
// Todays list var date = new Date(); query = { 'title': 'Wikipedia:Páginas para eliminar/' + date.getUTCDate() + ' de ' + date.getUTCMonthName(), 'action': 'submit' };
I think next example:
// Todays list var date = new Date(); query = { 'title': 'Wikipedia:Páginas para eliminar/' + (date.getUTCDate() +7) + ' de ' + date.getUTCMonthName(), 'action': 'submit' };
doesn't work. Imagine using this code on day 31 for example, It would create pt:Wikipedia:Páginas para eliminar/38 de Julho (nonsense). I would appreciate any help. Mosca2 16:40, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
- You have to manipulate the Date object. →AzaToth 17:38, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

importScript('User:AzaToth/twinkle.js');
to make sure nothing else would intefere with it. I force reloaded, deleted the entire cache even restarted the browser and force reloaded agin, nothing changed so pretty sure it's not a cache issue (had no trouble getting everyting else to work again after restoring the old code). --Sherool (talk) 18:33, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
