From Ohio40
Ok, I'm probably viewing Wikipedia as more of a collaboration tool than it really is. I should probably use LinkedIn for that instead. Side note: is this the way communication works on Wikipedia in that we leave messages for each other on the talk pages so the conversation lives half on one talk page and half on the other? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ohio40 (talk • contribs) 05:14, 21 February 2014 (UTC)

Motorcycle hooliganism/Workpage
I've moved the contents of Motorcycle hooliganism/Workpage to Talk:Motorcycle hooliganism#To-dos, since Wikipedia:Subpages are disabled in main article space on English Wikipedia. Thanks, Ruby Murray 08:45, 23 February 2014 (UTC)

motorcycles
Thank you for quality articles for project Motorcycling, such as Curtiss V-8 motorcycle, for dedicated reviewing, and for winning an award such as "Most understandable online friend", - you are an awesome Wikipedian!

Help
Ok, obviously I am a "newbie" to this and don't know where else to leave a message for you regarding an edit. Would you mind pointing me in the right direction for that so I don't "gum up" your topic here? Thanks! :-) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.160.84.29 (talk) 08:42, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
- Depends on the question. Ask on a user talk page like this one, or on an article talk page, or on one of the Wikipedia talk pages. — Brianhe (talk) 14:00, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
DYK for Massimo Tamburini
On 3 May 2014, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Massimo Tamburini, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Massimo Tamburini, the self-trained "Michelangelo of motorbike design", and creator of the Ducati 916 (pictured), began his career by making heating ducts? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Massimo Tamburini. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

Speedy deletion declined: Bernard Tiphaine
Hello Brianhe. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Bernard Tiphaine, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: I would say the VIAF record is a clear assertion of notability. Thank you. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 06:47, 16 June 2014 (UTC)
Claimed possible outing
You just refactored my comments at Talk:Chris J. Perry claiming a possible outing, because I had referred to the prior poster by a last name and linked to his user page. It is no outing to refer to a user by their user name or some subsection of it. It is also not an outing to suggest that he was the person the article was about, as he made that very claim in his posting. I ask that you go restore my comment to it's original state. --Nat Gertler (talk) 20:47, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
- I see now. I thought that you were replying to ukexpat, because the intervening comment by Perry was unsigned. Acted in an (over)abundance of caution. — Brianhe (talk) 20:53, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you for taking care of that! --Nat Gertler (talk) 20:55, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
Andreas Kaplan-related sockpuppet investigation notice
Hi, if you're here because of the notice I posted on your user talk page, welcome. Please note that I sought the correct procedure at Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)/Archive 114#Notifying without canvassing - advice sought before posting any notices, to avoid the perception of canvassing. All contributors to the AfD were invited to review the SPI. — Brianhe (talk) 03:36, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
Hello Brianhe, thank you for the corrections on this page! Would you be so kind to make the same on Commons:Personal acquaintances? Or is it ok, if I just copy the new text and paste it on Commons? Kind regards, --Brackenheim (talk) 09:58, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
- Sure, I copied the FAQ over. I'm unfamiliar with the use of the <translate> tag, so I left those out. — Brianhe (talk) 15:10, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you for the corrections, but the <translate>-tags are really important for the translate-extension. I fixed it, so it should work now again. --Brackenheim (talk) 15:37, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
- I figured that would need to be cleaned up. Hope the new translation helps! — Brianhe (talk) 17:17, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

Re: Stella merge
When you say, "I'll probably just do the merge later today", I hope that you mean "I'll probably just do the merge proposal later today". Wikipedia proscribes a week or more of discussion prior to doing a merge (see Wikipedia:Merging) for a reason; other editors tend to get pissed when people merge one of their favorite articles without giving anyone else a chance to weigh in. Admittedly the odds are that no one will notice the difference if the merged article is an obscure one like Stella (scooter), but there's no need to risk rocking the boat. It's no bother to me, as I think the article probably should be merged, but I don't want it said that I didn't warn you.--NukeofEarl (talk) 17:11, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
- OK, I think the procedures outlined at Wikipedia:Merging have been followed. I'll wait a few days to see if there's any reaction to the new talk page content, which I do not expect. — Brianhe (talk) 17:16, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
Hi Brianhe! I saw your posts- and thank you. I'm a newbie user so I had just plugged in some basic info, intending to finish it later. Im sorry for bumbling my way around. I saw your suggestion that I paste in my edits but can't figure out where to do so, even after following your suggested link. I'm going to plug in another edit and hope you don't mind my doing so. Some of the edits made were incorrect, and so my hope is my edits will help clarify it more accurately, so it can then be fine tuned. I removed a couple things that were incorrect and would be happy to clarify if you like. If you don't mind pointing me to where I can make suggestions from here on out, that would be great- thanks. BMW Type 255 Kompressor
The BMW Type 255 Kompressor sold at auction in 2013 is chassis number 'Fahrgest.Nr' no 2. The BMW Type 255 Kompressor ridden during the 1939 Isle of Man TT by Georg Meier is chassis number 'Fahrgest.Nr' no 6. The Meier chassis 'Fahrgest.Nr' no 6 was previously owned by the former Formula 1 driver John Surtees and may be now owned by BMW Motorrad or by the Meier family. Arbitration Enforcement warning: WP:NEWBLPBAN
The following thread[1] was closed at WP:AE wherein you, along with 3 other users, have been admonished for conduct incompatible with WP:BATTLE on pages covered by WP:BLP and thus WP:NEWBLPBAN . In particular the interaction between you and User:Factchecker_atyourservice is noted as the locus of the issue here.
All 4 users are reminded that casting unfounded aspersions about other editors or misrepresenting their communications is unhelpful. Furthermore Factchecker_atyourservice is singled out for ad hominem remarks. Please note that recidivism will result in escalating sanctions. Multiple avenues of dispute resolution are open to resolving disputes productively (rather than trying to “win” by excluding the other) and without breaching the rules. You are all strongly advised to avoid making any personal remarks about other editors, speculating on their intentions or making value judgments about their contributions--Cailil talk 13:13, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
