Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ekti Ghrinyo Golpo
I am requesting you reverse your non-admin closure of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ekti Ghrinyo Golpo and let an admin handle it. The keep arguments did not provide any substance, and in particular, they did not provide the significant coverage in independent reliable sources that are needed to meet notability. -- Whpq (talk) 12:27, 13 November 2017 (UTC)
Unless and until you are willing and/or capable to explain your actions in a competent manner, please refrain from closing any more AfDs.And mandatorily go through WP:AADD.Thanks!Winged Blades Godric08:29, 17 November 2017 (UTC)

Changes later this week
The diff you see when you compare two different versions of a page has changed on MediaWiki.org and the test wiki. This is to make it easier to find a text change in a moved paragraph. It will hopefully soon come to more wikis. You can report bugs in Phabricator. [1]
A new user group on Commons will be able to upload MP3 files. The plan is to have this user group from 17 November. [2]
Wikis using Flagged Revisions will get the New filters for Edit Review by default on the recent changes pages. It will be possible to opt-out in user preferences. [3]
The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 14 November. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 15 November. It will be on all wikis from 16 November (calendar).

Deletion
Hello CAPTAIN RAJU. I saw your deletion request for History of Spanish photojournalism. The article was created as part of a educational project; one student couldn´t publish it, so I did it. Can you wait for me to correct it, before you delete it?. Best, --Rodelar (talk) 20:16, 16 November 2017 (UTC)
So the 2017 WikiCup has come to an end. Congratulations to the winner, to the other finalists and to all those who took part. 177 contestants signed up, more than usual, but not all of them submitted entries in the first round. Were editors attracted by the cash prizes offered for the first time this year, or were these irrelevant? Do the rules and scoring need changing for the 2018 WikiCup? If you have a view on these or other matters, why not join in the WikiCup discussion about next year's contest? Accusation of copyright infringement on my talk page
Please can you respond to your edit to my talk page accusing me without any reference or detail of including copyrighted material on the Priss Fotheringham page. Please consider that putting 'Welcome to Wikipedia' notices on accounts over 5 years old is incredibly patronising and unhelpful, and please think about the way you interact with other accounts on Wikipedia. --Jwslubbock (talk) 14:24, 17 November 2017 (UTC)
Priss Fotheringham page was obviously involved copyright.I found 50.00%+ copyright infringement.Due to copyright I've added the tagging WP:CSD 12.Anyway the administrator decline the deletion tag.I've already added the strikethrough on copyright notice on your talk page.CAPTAIN RAJU(T)19:36, 17 November 2017 (UTC)
(talk page watcher) Captain, the templated message you added to the user talk page said "All or some of your addition(s) to Priss Fotheringham have been removed, as they appear to have added copyrighted material ..." but you had not removed any allegedly copyright material. The CSD G12 template makes it clear that this criterion for deletion "applies only in unequivocal cases, where there is no free-content material on the page worth saving and no later edits requiring attribution". Although one major quote (shown as a quote in both cases) is taken from the londonist website, none of the other text appears to be a direct copy. Please be more careful when using the G12 criterion: it is only for the case where the whole article is a clear copyright violation. Using it inappropriately is unfriendly to other editors and, if an admin was not alert, could lead to the loss of useful content for the encyclopedia. Adding a templated message saying that content has been removed when it has not is extremely confusing for all concerned. Slow down, please: striking out erroneous messages shouldn't be necessary if editors work with appropriate care. @Jwslubbock:PamD23:44, 17 November 2017 (UTC)
Thank you @PamD:. I still have no idea what material I am supposed to have used that was copyrighted. The quote from the Londonist is from a public domain document, specifically the court document from the 17th century. I don't believe that Captain Raju really read the page properly, and his attempt to accuse me of copyright infringement without even telling me what copyright I'm supposed to have infringed is a textbook example of unhelpful Wikipedia editing. This is the reason we have so few female editors, because of this kind of unfriendly behaviour. We have a duty to assume good faith here, and that rule was broken. If we want to encourage more editors to be involved and increase the diversity of the content, we need to treat each other with more respect. Jwslubbock (talk) 12:50, 18 November 2017 (UTC)

Recent changes
If you use the Chrome web browser on Android you can see a download icon on the mobile website. You can download a formatted PDF. It will work in other mobile browsers in the future. [5]
The abuse filter now has a function called get_matches. You can use it to store matches from regular expressions – one of each capturing group. You can read more in Phabricator.
Problems
Last week's MediaWiki version didn't come to all Wikipedias because of a database crash. It will be on all wikis on 20 November. [6][7][8]
Changes later this week
There is no new MediaWiki version this week.
Meetings
You can join the next meeting with the Editing team. During the meeting, you can tell developers which bugs you think are the most important. The meeting will be on 21 November at 19:30 (UTC). See how to join.

Future changes
Language converter syntax will no longer work inside external links. Wikitext like http://-{zh-cn:foo.com; zh-hk:bar.com; zh-tw:baz.com}- must be replaced. You will have to write -{zh-cn: http://foo.com ; zh-hk: http://bar.com ; zh-tw:http://baz.com }- instead. This only affects languages with Language Converter enabled. Examples of such languages are Chinese and Serbian. This will happen next week. [9][10]
Wikibase code base does not use Composer class autoloading any more (phabricator:T180067) as another step towards getting rid of our own build process and being more in line with the rest of Wikimedia

Feel free to alter it, but I was correct to point out an empirical error. The Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem is, in fact, subject to the jurisdiction of the Catholicosate of Etchmiadzin. If it wasn't, it wouldn't be a part of the Armenian Church! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.115.142.83 (talk) 06:46, 22 November 2017 (UTC)
The Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem is according to Church Law autonomous, Jerusalem is not under the jurisdiction of Etchmiadzin!
It seems that Etchmiadzin, not for the first time in history btw, would like to rule over the Patriarch in Istanbul, the Patriarch in Jerusalem, and perhaps also Antelias?
The alteration above (anonymous) is therefore NOT correct, and totally out of place.
Just want to mention that I think you're doing a great job in recent changes. En wikipedia en español también haces un buen trabajo . Congratulations! Best regards. Miaow16:31, 22 November 2017 (UTC)
Captain Raju, the editor above has a point. She was working in her sandbox on a translation of an article, presumably from Bengali Wikipedia, on Tahera Kabir. Through google translate, I didn't see anything excessively promotional that couldn't be fixed.
"Tahera Kabir is a prominent social worker and NGO personality in Bangladesh. [1] In 1978, he was awarded "Independence Award for Social Welfare" for his unique contribution to social welfare.
He created an NGO named "Social Reconstruction Association" to serve poor and disadvantaged people. [1] [3] Under this NGO, a shelter center is run in Mirpur, Dhaka for helpless, orphan and street children.
In 1979, "Independence Award", known as the "highest civilian award" [6] [7] [8], was awarded to his contribution to social service."
Receiving the Independence Day Award, the highest civilian honour of the eighth most populous country in the world, is a very clear claim of notability and indeed 7 of the other recipients that year have articles.
WP:G11 says: "If a subject is notable and the content could plausibly be replaced with text that complies with neutral point of view, this is preferable to deletion."
Please use more care when adding these tags. This is at least the third time this week you've done it and you'll end up scaring editors away. Valenciano (talk) 22:36, 22 November 2017 (UTC)
