Hello, CaliforniaAliBaba. I've noticed that you've got many DYK titles, and I want to nominate kimchi bokkeumbap to the page for the first time. The article lacks inline citation, but putting aside the matter, do you think the article at the status is qualified for the nomination? You know the procedure well, so I need your help. Thanks.--Appletrees (talk) 17:26, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Nick Savoy page

Hi! I didn't write the Nick Savoy page but I worked on it extensively. I noticed that you voted to delete. I'm not sure if this sways your decision (which was made based on 'notability' but he is on the Dr Phil show tomorrow, April 11. I just saw him on TV as the Dr Phil show is promoting him extensively (www.drphil.com/shows). So now I have found:

  • Dr Phil
  • CBS National Radio
  • Fox TV
  • Playboy TV
  • Brink Magazine
  • Globe and Mail magazine (quoting him as an expert)
  • Mentioned in other wikipedia pages such as Mystery Method
  • As far back as 2006 there was some consensus to include him (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Seduction_community)

Does the Dr Phil showchange your opinion? If not, what would? I would like to get the page back up; I worked really hard on it. Thanks so much for your time! Camera123456 (talk) 23:50, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Re: ABCD

Hey there, see this. The article is poorly written; I guess that could be rectified. The problem is that this term is virtually unknown outside South-Asian American circles. I guess my reaction was more knee-jerk, since I did a merge discussion (as you can see in the link) and every now-and-then, someone comes along and reverts the article to the state before the merge. You've provided a bunch of useful references and what I'll do is rewrite the article, incorporating them. --vi5in[talk] 15:36, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Re: Chinese people in Madagascar @ DYK

Thanks for the DYK nomination --- I modified the hook a bit and rewrote the paragraph in question because after I reread the source, I think it meant the present day and not 1896 --- that also agrees with the numbers I got from other sources. RE: Fooian Brazilian articles and sockpuppets

I did what you ask, and in my opinion, I think Skanter is not a sockpuppet of Troy86.

My reasons: If you see the contributions of Skanter [5] or any of Skanter suspected sockpuppets [6], his edits only deal with Brazilian articles and he creates useless articles of Brazilian ethnic groups. When I saw Troy86's contibutions [7] or any of his sockpuppets that you presented, his edits dealt with African/Black articles and creates useless articles about African/Black groups in any country. The pages they edit together are the ones that deal with both Africans and Brazilians, and in my opinion, it just a coincidence. Skanter has also created many pages of small European, White, or Asian ethnic groups that have been deleted Belarussian Brazilian, Canadian Brazilian, and Filipino Brazilians (note: these are the AfD pages). The other incidents that you showed me that involved CARLMART, I think the same can be applied, that it is just a coincidence. CARLMART was making articles in random, and he didn't stay in a specific topic like Skanter (Brazilians) and Troy86 (Africans).

Another reason is the IP addresses. In the suspected sockpuppets of Troy86, he has only one IP address which is 70.156.138.197. If you look at all the IP address that are suspected to be Skanter's, the numbers begin with 189 while Troy86 only IP address begins with 70. I know that some of Skanter's IPs trace to a Brazilian website, but I don't know about Troy86's IP.

This is why my conclusion is Skanter is not Troy 86. I hope my information is helpful. If you need a second opinion, you should ask Opinoso, he has dealt more with Skanter than me. Anyways, Thank you for asking my help.

Thank you for reading. Lehoiberri (talk) 19:36, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

Hi again, can you add 68.215.82.119 as a suspected sockpuppet of Troy86. I undid an edit [8] by that IP address, but Cup22, one of Troy86's sockpuppets, undid my edit [9] and left a message in the edit summary "says who!?". If you look at the contribution of that IP address, it similar to Troy86 and Cup22. Thanks again. bye. Lehoiberri (talk) 03:32, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
I left a message for Lehoiberri to contribute to WP:SSP#User:Troy86. This will probably lead to a Request for checkuser, but it's more likely to succeed if the data is well-organized first. Any past IPs that have been suspected would be good to have in the report. EdJohnston (talk) 19:46, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Russians

What I say is at least questionable, from a source you speak "reliable", we all know that not even the same sources are 100% safe gubernametales on the other Russians in Chile 250 citations is that? you think that source reliable? And if these are the descendants recidentes but arrived more than a century ago as it added 70,000 source said that it is also very reliable so we let the two references. hey

perhaps then ethnic chinese's inherent "disambig-ness" could be rethought. apparently this term "overseas chinese" is pretty established and accepted tho it does smack of something a government somewhere came up with. come to think of it, it has a distinct POV flavor of "I'm inside china, I am what is called chinese, everyone else is someone who left or descended from someone who left." vibe, no? I didn't create the term. hey, it seems accepted and established. and I understand that the PRC has a complex relationship with ethnic chinese in other countries, as reflected in the overseas Chinese article.

Might sound weird-- and I guess this is in the article itself but-- some "ethnic" chinese persons in other counries are not in any reasonable sense "over seas". they are in various asian countries. why does this umbrella term seem to be the only one to refer to all the persons that make up these various unique populations. if you could direct me to anywhere I could learn more about this (that is, how these peoples are referred to) on or off 'pedia, that'd be awesome. thanks.

lastly for what it's worth, spoken language matters. the term "ethnic chinese" is a term that people use. (I'm not too good with the citation thing. I try to get someone in on my cause who's got those skills to find a cite.) I think it's usu in a geopolitics context. it would be silly, unclear or forcedly polite, in some conversations, especially if none of said persons are in the room to refer to them as "overseas". holler. Chinese and Sino-Tibetan language

Hi, could you come to the Sinitic languages article talk page and discuss, as the article's merge is gone and an article has been written. User:Kwamikagami, who wrote the article, has been re-classifying Chinese language in pretty much all articles about Chinese (i.e. Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, Min-Nan, Old Chinese...) as well as Sino-Tibetan language-related articles. The thing I found problematic is that Kwamikagami has been classifying Sino-Tibetan languages (Chinese and Tibeto-Burman) in a way that is contrary to mainstream encyclopedia sources, like Encyclopedia Britannica [10] and Ethnologue's [11] classifications (the user also classified Bai language under his/her newly created "Sinitic" language family instead of Tibeto-Burman language family), that is why I hope you can come and discuss with us.--TheLeopard (talk) 21:57, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Narrowing

Hi there. I'm curious why I always see you making the text of {{cent}} more compact, and sometimes a bit confusing for me. Can't users just set a width= or similar, that way those who want a narrow banner can have one, but those with larger resolutions can have it set to regular.
