Your edits on Gabbie Hanna

[edit]

Hello, I just want to let you know that your good faith edits on Gabbie Hanna have been reverted because the content you added is largely in violation of multiple Wikipedia policies. Regarding the edits, please look into WP:BLP, WP:DUE, and WP:RELIABLE for guidance. Thank you Throast (talk) 22:01, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks! I was wondering why they had been reverted. I still don’t understand the exact reason, can you please tell me what was wrong with it? I provided proof for everything I wrote and put a lot of quotations and links. Also I wanna add that I am a fan of hers and have been following her for a very long time, which was kind of the whole reason why I wanted to keep her page up to date cause it’s incredibly scarce as of now IMO. Thanks for your response in advance! Charlotte 92 emma (talk) 22:15, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The last three "WP" links I provided will help you understand. There are certain standards to keep in mind when editing biographies of living persons. Basically, on articles of living persons, self-published sources should be used sparingly as reliable secondary sources are preferred. You based your content almost entirely on YouTube videos published by Gabbie Hanna herself, which constitute self-published sources. It might also be helpful to look into what Wikipedia is not to help you understand which kind of content should not be included in articles. Throast (talk) 22:35, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ok thanks!! First of all I wanna apologize for the wall of text of answers I just left on your page but I did not receive the notification of this response as I was typing it. Secondly: thanks a lot for the corrections! I mainly used Gabbie Hanna’s videos when talking about her channel and her channel’s development, mainly because people don’t usually report on her name changes/her series, but it is very relevant to her page IMO. For example, she has announced the series she is releasing will be her goodbye from YouTube. No media outlet has spoken about it, and the only thing I can “quote” is her words, but I don’t think it can count as “biased” cause I’m not making a judgement but just stating a fact, if that makes sense. I hope it does cause I am very confused still lol. So yeah, that was my reasoning behind it. If you have some particular things in mind about my edit you thought were wrong please do tell me!!! Again thanks for the very kind and quick answer Charlotte 92 emma (talk) 22:42, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
