Two-spirit article
I did not appreciate your false edit summary and your complete revert of my edits on the Two-spirit article. You falsely claimed that I introduced punctuation and grammatical "mistakes". There were no such "mistakes" in my edits. There was only one typo mistake. If you think that removing the overuse of completely unnecessary commas which impede sentence flow is somehow introducing punctuation and grammatical mistakes then you clearly know very little about both modern English punctuation and grammatical style. The amount of unnecessary punctuation in the article is ridiculous. You also reverted my completely correct edits to make "two-spirits" more consistent in the article. Your edit summary was false and your complete revert of my edits was just wrong. Afterwriting (talk) 02:06, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- As you indicate above, you made a typo, and you wholesale changed the style throughout. We also do not force standardization of a term that has no standard form; we merely document how it is used in the source materials. Your preferred style of punctuation is not the style used on Wikipedia. Please familiarize yourself with the Manual of Style and also the Civility Policy. Attacking the motives of other editors, and accusing us of lying when we are just doing our jobs here, will get your editing privileges revoked. - CorbieVreccan ☊ ☼ 18:57, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- Your edit summary comments about my editing were untrue. You wrongly accused me of introducing punctuation and grammatical mistakes into the article when that was clearly not the case. You have now accused me of making "wholesale" changes to the style "throughout" the article when that is also not so. I also did not accuse you of "lying". Please explain to me in what ways my so-called "preferred" style of punctuation "is not the style used used on Wikipedia"? I am already very familiar with the Manual of Style and I do not accept that any of my punctuation edits were "not the style used on Wikipedia". Your comments about my editing are out of order. They are incorrect and unjustified. Afterwriting (talk) 01:18, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
- And, I now notice, that you have also wrongly accused me of "incivility" and "personal attacks" in your latest edit summaries when reverting some of my edits when there was absolutely no incivility or attacks in my own edit summaries. You are completely out of order in your responses to my editing. Afterwriting (talk) 01:34, 6 April 2022 (UTC)

September 2021
Thank you for stepping in an reverting that edit on the article about me on May 30, 2022. I'm not familiar with Wikipedia editing but do know that one should not edit an article about themself, which makes perfect sense. The person who made the edit was obviously biased. I have many transgender, transexual and intersex followers on social media that have a better sense about me, namely, that I'm a longtime same-sex rights advocate who sees a conflict of interests between gender identity ideology and same-sex orientation. I appreciate your keeping it honest. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1000:B10B:B51F:5831:2615:6245:B729 (talk) 01:08, 25 June 2022 (UTC) Sorry. Neglected to sign this. - No problem. Thank you for your decades of service to the community, and for continuing to speak about the history you have witnessed and participated in first-hand. Whether or not people share the same positions and analysis, everyone has to remember this is an encyclopedia, and it must be written in a neutral voice, no matter the personal beliefs of the writers and editors. If people can't do that, they shouldn't be editing here.
- And again, no matter their personal beliefs, it is so important to listen to elders and first-hand witnesses/participants like yourself with respect. Those who did not live through the struggles you've been through often have trouble grasping what life was like even a few decades ago, let alone pre-Stonewall. Thank you for the groundbreaking activism you've done, in years and places when it was truly dangerous, and for bearing witness.
- If you want to edit, just register an account with an anonymous username, go slow at first and follow the guidelines for new users as you learn the ropes, don't edit any articles where you have Conflict of Interest, and don't take it personally when you make mistakes that get reverted. There's a learning curve, but it can be fun if you've got the right temperament for it. Registering an account will also allow you to email those of us who have email enabled. Best, - CorbieVreccan ☊ ☼ 21:10, 25 June 2022 (UTC)

Every single line in the article had at least one source, including the date of birth. If you can't even bother to look before removing days of work, you should not be permitted to work on here. I am simply disgusted by your downright lazy behaviour. 48Pills (talk) 03:56, 20 July 2022 (UTC)

Source used for Cherokee and I imagine elsewhere
Isn't this[http://www.native-languages.org/morelegends/unetlanvhi.htm] a personal website? Might be correct, but reliably published? Doug Weller talk 13:47, 21 July 2022 (UTC)
- I immediately spotted a few misspellings and other inaccuracies. It doesn't cite sources or say whose site it is. Did I just miss that bit? Sometimes clunky old sites that look like this are used if we can confirm that an acknowledged Elder, and/or fluent, native speaker runs the site (or wrote the content). But we would need that information. Who is trying to use it, on what articles, and to cite what content? I'm sure there are better sources than this. - CorbieVreccan ☊ ☼ 20:38, 21 July 2022 (UTC)
- OK, I found some about and FAQ stuff. It's run by a non-Native who asks scouting groups to participate. Not looking good. She says it was started by a Cherokee guy, but now she runs it herself. I wouldn't use it. IIRC, there was some really incorrect stuff on there in the past that's been removed, or maybe the navigation is just broken. But it looks like the site that had it - wrong words, mistranslations, etc. UPDATE: It's just bad navigation. The blatant misinformation about an entire branch of a language family, multiple communities, cultures and peoples, wrong words and definitions, etc. is still up. Don't use this site. Even if the founder is Cherokee (I haven't checked), the people running the site are clearly not experts in all the languages and cultures they are trying to cover. I think they're just compiling things from whatever they find online, without checking if it's legit or not. Not WP:RS. - CorbieVreccan ☊ ☼ 20:55, 21 July 2022 (UTC)

Bad and not so bad references
Hi CorbieVreccan! Just one note about this[1]: yes, both are bare URLs, and the first one is dead and apparently not even retrievable on the Web Archive. So I am in serious doubt whether the previous additions came with any knowledge about whatever was meant to be cited here :)
But FWIW, the Academia.edu upload is actually a chapter from a published book[2] which looks like a reliable source to me. But still (and unsurprisingly): there is nothing in that chapter about Bracara being the "capital" of the Gallaecians. Austronesier (talk) 21:11, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
- What's odd about the book chapter, and the reason I figured it was just a personal upload, is the author didn't use a version that indicates any publication data at that url. I looked at the pages, and the info with it, and didn't see it. Really odd. If it actually cited relevant, reliable content, I'd maybe check to see if it is the same text as the published chapter, or if changes have been made and it's not actually the published version. - CorbieVreccan ☊ ☼ 20:46, 27 September 2022 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – October 2022
News and updates for administrators from the past month (September 2022).
- Following an RfC, consensus was found that if the rationale for a block depends on information that is not available to all administrators, that information should be sent to the Arbitration Committee, a checkuser or an oversighter for action (as applicable, per ArbCom's recent updated guidance) instead of the administrator making the block.
- Following an RfC, consensus has been found that, in the context of politics and science, the reliability of FoxNews.com is unclear and that additional considerations apply to its use.
- Community comment on the revised Universal Code of Conduct enforcement guidelines is requested until 8 October.
- The Articles for creation helper script now automatically recognises administrator accounts which means your name does not need to be listed at WP:AFCP to help out. If you wish to help out at AFC, enable AFCH by navigating to Preferences → Gadgets and checking the "Yet Another AfC Helper Script" box.
- Remedy 8.1 of the Muhammad images case will be rescinded 1 November following a motion.
- A modification to the deletion RfC remedy in the Conduct in deletion-related editing case has been made to reaffirm the independence of the RfC and allow the moderators to split the RfC in two.
- The second phase of the 2021-22 Discretionary Sanctions Review closes 3 October.
- An administrator's account was recently compromised. Administrators are encouraged to check that their passwords are secure, and reminded that ArbCom reserves the right to not restore adminship in cases of poor account security. You can also use two-factor authentication (2FA) to provide an extra level of security.
- Self-nominations for the electoral commission for the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections open 2 October and close 8 October.
- You are invited to comment on candidates in the 2022 CUOS appointments process.
- An RfC is open to discuss whether to make Vector 2022 the default skin on desktop.
- Tech tip: You can do a fuzzy search of all deleted page titles at Special:Undelete.
