Hey, thanks for the image. ---- DanTD 12:16, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yo

Check it out. Somebody put your picture on both the Dutch and Spanish articles for The Simpsons Movie. Marijuanarchy 20:10, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Saranac Lake

[edit]

Thanks, glad you noticed it! Sometimes it seems like I'm doing it just for myself. I moved here a year ago-- it's a great town in an incredible area. You're lucky to have grown up here. Cheers! -- 13:09, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit]

The link you put up for the video of the winning Springfield Simpsons video plays only the Governor's introduction of the video not the famous video itself. May I suggest you replace it with a link to my not-for-profit webpage which provides 3 current sources for the complete 5 minute video. And I monitor them so URLs provided will always be up to date plus I have my own copy ready to go online when the day comes no other websites are featuring it. http://vtvid.110mb.com/video.html VTvid (talk) 17:58, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please see WP:LEAD: The lead should be able to stand alone as a concise overview of the article. Cirt (talk) 12:04, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just get the Flickr user to change the settings on whatever pic it is to creative commons attribution, commercial use allowed, so that the only requirement is attribution. I think that should work out okay. Cirt (talk) 15:04, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

P.A.R.C

[edit]

Hi. I noticed it was you after I removed it-- it was the flashing "Available Properties" that triggered my spam-killer reflex. When I saw it was you that put it there, I almost self-reverted. If you want to put it back, I won't object (though it's not real clear to me what it adds to the article). Cheers! -- Mwanner | Talk 17:34, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I get twitchy when I notice links like volunteer fire departments, chambers of commerce, etc, etc. They seem to have become an accepted part of city articles, but they really seem to violate the Wikipedia-is-not-a-directory rule. I've gotten into arguments about chambers of commerce (and especially official tourism links), and basically decided it's not worth the agravation of yanking them (besides, what a job it would be doing the search and destroy on that one!). -- Mwanner | Talk 18:42, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

SLHS

[edit]

Well, they're not exactly great refs, and probably wouldn't withstand a rigorous application of "reliable sources" regs, but you were right in the tags you placed (although I think if you looked at 90% of the articles on high schools you'd find either no refs or similarly weak ones). But the article sat for almost a year after I created it without drawing any positive contributions from students, so when one was added on 9/3, I didn't apply usual standards to it, I just cleaned it up a bit. So I wanted to be able to remove your unref'd tag, and just leave the fact tags (so maybe they'd realize that they do need sources-- I couldn't find any for those claims, though I imagine they're true).

I suspect it would have been better if Wikipedia had never allowed the creation of articles on run of the mill high schools (there were huge AFD debates over them for years), but consensus came down on the side of keeping them. Cheers! -- Mwanner | Talk 11:47, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and another thing... I received the following request from another editor, but I'll be away from the area when these events take place. Any chance you could cover these?

I realize what I am asking you will not occur until February, but since you live closer to the Lake Placid bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton track than I do, would you mind taking pictures of the FIL World Luge Championships 2009 (February 2-8) and the FIBT World Championships 2009 (February 18-March 1). Both events mentioned will take place at the track. I would like to have these images posted in their respective articles in Wikipedia if you do not mind. Saranac Lake photos

[edit]

Please feel free to do anything you like with the images at Saranac Lake, New York. I'm not real fond of a number of the recent additions, but since I have added 9 of the 12 existing photos, I feel funny about deleting others' contributions. Be my guest to take out any you don't feel add to the article (mine included, of course). Cheers! -- Mwanner | Talk 18:54, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to be releasing this image under a 'free' licence? Could you confirm this by including an appropriate license tag like {{PD-self}} or appropriate in the images description page :).

This will greatly assist the transfer of the Image to Wikimedia Commons, where it can be re-used by even more people :) Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:20, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to find out how to do that and couldn't.. Could you link me to a walk through? I've never done it before. Cs302b (talk) 15:37, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
