Please be careful
[edit]Let's try to engage with User:Rogerbalta over the Roger Balta article (I tried on the talk page and gave him an editwar warning). If he's not listening, then we can take it to a noticeboard, but we have to give him the chance to pay attention. -Jorgath (talk) (contribs) 19:57, 19 April 2013 (UTC)
Do you have a source for their 1959 disestablishment, which you added as a category? It's not mentioned in the article. Can you add it, please? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing);Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:35, 6 May 2013 (UTC)
- Hi - thanks for the note. At present, I only have access to my I-pad so editing is difficult. The closure date is given in the Grace's Guide article. You're the expert in this area, so if you're happy with it, perhaps the article could be expanded to include content from the Grace's article. Cheers. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 21:42, 6 May 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you, I've added that. Do you know what's on the site now? Can you provide the coordinates, or a precise map link to the site, please? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing);Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 23:13, 6 May 2013 (UTC)
The co-ordinates shown at the head of the article (added by User:Trappedinburnley) point to a multi-storey carpark in Sagar St., Nelson - I've never been to Burnley or Nelson, so I have no idea what's there now. My interest in this article is to review the DYK nomination. By the way, would it be possible to add one or more pictures to the article? -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 06:31, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
- Sorry; for some reason I took you for a local; and I missed those coordinates. Pictures have been taken; we're waiting for them to be uploaded. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing);Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 09:23, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
- Hi, this new notification thingy has alerted me to the use of my username (an interesting feature that seems likely to make talkpage arguments even more frequent). Can I be of assistance? I'm 100% sure that I've found the correct site as I checked the 1890s OS map of the area on LCC's MARIO site. While I can explain where to find it yourself I've never been able to figure out how to link directly to it. --Trappedinburnley (talk) 16:33, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the input - I didn't realise that users are now notified if they are mentioned in discussions. I must be careful what I say in future! I'm quite happy to accept that the co-ordinates are correct - they certainly fit with the carpark reference, so it all looks good to me. Best wishes. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 16:38, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi there DK, AL "here",
i don't know why you have chosen to cut all comunication with me (don't worry you're not the first, no way siree, beats me why), but my conscience is clear, i've always been polite with you. Just to tip you that this user is still at it, adding the numbers in honours even if the player has only won ONE competition (i agree with you, those numbers are insulting). He does not talk to anyone in spite of the petitions and/or warnings, writes ZERO in summaries to top it.
Attentively, keep up the great work --AL (talk) 20:58, 11 May 2013 (UTC)
- Sorry for the misunderstanding on my part. It was just, since you did not reply to a couple of a messages i sent regarding Mauricio Pochettino, i thought was turns out NOT TO BE true, apologies. Best wishes also, keep those "antibiotics" coming! --AL (talk) 14:56, 12 May 2013 (UTC)

Invitation to take a short survey about communication and efficiency of WikiProjects for my research
[edit]Hi Daemonic Kangaroo, I'm working on a project to study the running of WikiProject and possible performance measures for it. I learn from WikiProject Football talk page that you are an active member of the project. I would like to invite you to take a short survey for my study. If you are available to take our survey, could you please reply an email to me? I'm new to Wikipedia, I can't send too many emails to other editors due to anti-spam measure. Thank you very much for your time. Xiangju (talk) 17:50, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
St Catherine of Siena
[edit]Hi Daenomic Kanagaroo - yes, I will give this a full read this evening. I have a number of sources potentially with xtra info, although a quick look shows you have done a very thorough job! I made a brief visit to Cocking last summer to photograph the church and a former chapel down one of the side roads; just a half-hour stop on the bus before continuing to Singleton and beyond. Phillips sourcing
[edit]Hello. Please see Talk:Kevin Phillips (footballer)#Sourcing. All I personally intend to do is source and restore any sections of the pre-cleanup version that no-one gets to first. If anyone wants to improve/expand beyond that, I'm sure the readers would appreciate it. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 09:34, 28 May 2013 (UTC)

Reference format
[edit]While it's clear you have strong opinions on the matter, please don't refer to reformatting refs to use templates as clean-up or to untemplated refs as "a mess". As per WP:CITEVAR, changing the reference format established for an article is disruptive. I chose not to use citation templates for this article because I want to make it possible to indicate clearly which news coverage originated with a wire service, which is basically a video, and if stories were updated at a later date. However, unless the references had indeed been a mess - varying in format or missing elements - there does not have to be a stated reason for staying with the format originally established. Please clean up refs only in articles that do have one of those problems. Yngvadottir (talk) 17:31, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
Page moves
[edit]Hello, I just want to say sorry if I've spammed your watchlist with page moves. I noticed you had created and been involved with several. I've started compiling a complete list of Argyle players, following on from Struway and Oldelpaso's efforts, and suffice to say it's slow going. The whole naming convention thing is why I've been creating links for future articles in that format and changing present ones as I go. I've expressed my opinion here. In a way it's important to have uniformity, that's why I've been making them all follow the same format in my lists, but then the project has had that ever since I can remember. A part of me says I should hold off because the change effects so many articles and templates. Everyone should have been notified of the discussion, with a method in place to implement any change automatically, but it appears they did neither. Walls of Jericho (talk) 03:50, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
Re: Tour de France
[edit]As it stands, I do intend to do such write-ups as I pretty much have done for all the stage races on the World Tour this year (with the exception of Romandie, which I haven't got around to doing; my router blew after Roubaix, and it wasn't until halfway through Romandie that I got internet back). Whether I continuing doing it beyond this year is another matter though... I might be on location for the first few stages next year; enjoy some live action of it, rather than the TV for a change, so I may give up the writing. Besides, over the last couple of years, it has been approaching 200 stage reports... There's only so much you can take before it becomes overkill. Yeah, I see there's not many maps just yet. Hopefully, that will be rectified in the upcoming days. The route is well back-laden for the final week. Mont Ventoux, Alpe d'Huez, Semnoz. Three awesome climbs. Personally, I cannot see past Froome due to his GC calibre already this year, and Cav will be hard to stop in the points this year. OPQS all for him. Craig(talk) 21:40, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
- Then again, I may take a back-seat role this year and focus on other projects, rather than waffle my way through write-ups. That's what I felt was what I was doing towards the end of the Giro, and throughout the Dauphiné and the Tour de Suisse. Maybe it's just a short-term thing, but who knows. Craig(talk) 19:34, 29 June 2013 (UTC)
TemplateData is here
[edit]Hey Daemonic Kangaroo
I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).
So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy theVisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.
What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.
The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guidehere, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on theFeedback page.
Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 22:18, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to 2013 Tour de France, Stage 1 to Stage 11 may have broken the syntaxby modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.
