Hi Dagadt, I notice you have already made a 787 use box. What help would you like to make your box? Here is the code that I had essentially copied and tested before posting.

<div style="float:{{{float|left}}}; border:{{{border-width|1}}}px solid {{{border-color|{{{1|blue}}}}}}; margin:1px;"> {| cellspacing="0" style="width:238px; background:{{{info-background|{{{2|teal}}}}}};" | style="width:55px; height:40px; background:{{{logo-background|{{{1|green}}}}}}; text-align:center; font-size:{{{logo-size|{{{5|{{{id-s|14}}}}}}}}}pt; color:{{{logo-color|{{{id-fc|black}}}}}};" | '''{{{logo|{{{3|[[Image:Astraeus.commons.b737-300.g-stra.arp.2.jpg|55px]]}}}}}}''' | style="font-size:{{{info-size|8}}}pt; padding:4pt; line-height:1.25em; color:{{{info-color|black}}};" | This user is a '''[[Boeing 737]]''' fan. |}</div></div>

Line 2 Border colour wot Line 3 Here you indicate the total width of your user box (width:238px) Line 4 Here you indicate the width and height of the image box that appears to the left of the user box (style="width:55px; height:40px;)

Try your box using the preview so that you can get it just right.--PremKudvaTalk 06:07, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah I see what you were asking. You should create a page for your user box using a template. You already have the code so there is just a little more you have do. Just create a page for your 787 template by creating its page Template:User_boeing_787. Enter the code you already have into it and your user box is ready:-).--PremKudvaTalk 06:12, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for your help Premkudva! Look at: Template:User_boeing_787 have I did it right? If not, please do it for me! Dagadt
That was nice, I just edited it so that the image fills the square. And have added it to my user page too. Thanks.--PremKudvaTalk 05:08, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notice for my self

[edit]

I'm in pilot training right now (the Euro-NATO school in Texas) and I only was in North Korea briefly as part of a tour of the DMZ. My impression of the country is not to go there if at all possible. The country is currently ravaged by an ongoing famine where the ruling class lives high on the hog while the commoners barely survive (literally and in some cases, sadly, don't survive). If you want to visit the Korean Peninsula, I recommend visiting Seoul and going through a travel company to visit the DMZ, the 3rd Tunnel, the reunification village, etc. There is also an observatory north of Seoul where you can look into North Korea and see the farmers working on their crops...being guarded by N/ Korean soldiers with AK-47s so they don't try an make a bid for freedom only a few hundred yards away. [edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia! I am glad to see you are interested in discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:China Eastern Airlines are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic. Thanks. --Pilotboi / talk / contribs 08:39, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I do not really know anything about Chinese pilot certification. Even so, Wikipedia is not the place to ask those types of questions. I would recommend posting your question at http://answers.yahoo.com or some forum related to the subject. --Pilotboi / talk / contribs 17:39, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits

[edit]

Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 12:19, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Proposed Cathay Pacific destinations, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD g1.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Russavia 13:46, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lloyd Paxton

[edit]

Notability of Lloyd Paxton

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Lloyd Paxton requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Toddstreat1 15:50, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Coaching

[edit]

First off all: Thank you for your supporting vote! But how you can see, I probably won´t become admin. I´ve read on your userpage about the virtual classroom in Wikipedia to become admin. How can I participate on? How does the program works? Please tell me everything! Dagadt (talk) 14:59, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. By the way, I would be glad to be your coach.
Keep in mind that I'm not an admin - I've been through 3 RfA's, and therefore I understand the process intimately, though I have not yet overcome the stigma of conflicts I was involved in early in my editing which occurred over a year ago (also, if you want to see what not to do in an RfA, see my first two). But I am an admin coach, and have co-coached 5 users who have become admins, 4 of whom I co-nominated for adminship in their successful RfAs. I have experience over a wide range of activities, and I'd say my approach is progressive and therefore fairly direct.
If you'd like me to coach you, I do have several conditions, and they are that you...
  1. fill in all of your edit summaries (if you find yourself forgetting, there's a setting in "my preferences" that will remind you)
  2. watch your coaching page closely, and reply to every post there in a timely fashion
  3. keep the "VC lessons" template somewhere you can access it easily (usually on your user page or your talk page). I'll place it initially, and then you can move it if you want.
  4. complete all the assignments you are given to the best of your ability. If you have trouble with an assignment, by all means, let me know, so we can discuss possible solutions and alternatives.
  5. take the advice provided by my fellow coaches and your fellow students to heart (this should be a group effort)
  6. don't go for your RfA or accept an RfA nomination except from me - I will nominate you when I believe you are ready
  7. (optional, though highly recommended) write a lesson for the Virtual classroom. You'll have plenty of time to think about this, so don't fret it.
Please let me know if you agree, and we can get started.
I look forward to your reply.
The Transhumanist 15:39, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your information. Unfortunately I have to do a lot of work until the beginning of January. I´ll think about joining you class. I´ll announce my decision on 8 January - probably I´ll join it :) Dagadt (talk) 15:01, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent RfA

[edit]

I'm sorry, but I've closed your Request for adminship prematurely. Simply put, there wasn't much chance for it to pass, and I thought I'd go ahead and spare you from it becoming a bloodbath... on the plus side, however, there are several recommendations on your RfA that, if you follow them, will make you a much better RfA candidate in the future.

I'm sorry about this, and hope you don't take it personally. If you continue to contribute to the project in a positive fashion, I'm confident that you could possibly run a successful RfA in the future. You may want to consider submitting yourself to Wikipedia:Editor review for feedback on where to get some good experience, and when you're ready for RfA again, there's a great Wikipedia:Admin coaching program for you to use, as well as a guide to requests for adminship.

If you have any other questions about becoming an administrator, please don't hesitate to ask me. Good luck! (and, for that matter, Merry Christmas) EVula // talk // // 16:41, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So Dagadt, better luck next time. The discussion was closed when I came back from the holidays. Merry Christmas! --PremKudvaTalk 05:32, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, adding content without citing a reliable source is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. This is especially important when dealing with biographies of living people, but applies to all Wikipedia articles. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are already familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add your original reference to the article. Thank you.--John (talk) 17:25, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

As a teacher you probably are able to write HTML. I´m highly interested in learning it, but I don´t know good links to learn it, so please give me some links for learning it.

Do you know why I love to teach? Because it is the best learning method there is. My best advice - my very best advice - is that you create and develop the List of basic HTML topics. Create the page, and place {{subst:BLT|HTML|HTML}} in it, and save. Then flesh out the skeleton. As you fill it in, replace the "basic concepts" section with an actual outline of the subject. See Lists of basic topics for some examples. (List of basic music topics, List of basic geography topics, and List of basic history topics are especially good. As you build, develop, and improve the page, it will become an invaluable resource, to you and for everyone else in the entire world who are trying to learn HTML. Start your journey at HTML - there are some excellent tutorials in its external links section. Good luck, and have fun. The Transhumanist 15:23, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just got your message on my talk page now! Sorry about that!

Nice to meet you. ^^ I don't work on any articles in particular on Wikipedia - I use it mostly for my reference, and when I see something that I know I can immediately fix (or something that really interests me; programming, etc.), then I'll work on it.

Great to have you around!

Re: question concerning Hong Kong

[edit]

Actually you can apply for the HKID card only after you have secured a job in HK. However, there are strict restrictions for foreigners to work locally, except those with the job nature requires professionals not widely available in HK (e.g. University professors, top management level jobs); or if you made a lump-sum investment >HK$6.5m (may not be correct), you can also get a HKID card.

What job are you seeking for? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84denniswong (talkcontribs) 08:44, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to tell but it is not easy to get the ID card (which is the same as being a "Hong Kong resident" - no matter permanent or not). I noticed that CX is requiring a "Hong Kong resident" identity fot the cadet pilot program, so I think a foreigner should normally not eligible except if he is currently studying or employed in Hong Kong. You may try to ask CX if they have any exceptional permissions can be given. --Spring Dennis (User Talk) 08:54, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 03:02, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
