TFA: May 5, 2018
It's incorrect information. CMLL is notorious for having long lasting champions (for example, Negro Casas and Shocker were tag team champions for four years, and had to vacate the title because they hadn't defended it in the last two), and I could see why it was a safe bet to have the middleweight title as TFA. But by the time it was, there was a new champion who had won it in January. APM (talk) 20:19, 20 September 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks. Don't edit archive pages ... any other pages are fair game. - Dank (push to talk) 20:44, 20 September 2018 (UTC)
- So, despite that, you're going to leave as it is? Seems a little counterproductive. APM (talk) 21:00, 20 September 2018 (UTC)
- See WP:ARCHIVE (although that talks just about talk page archives). Archive pages are meant to be left alone, so that we maintain an accurate record. Sections of the Main Page that have already expired will never be on the Main Page, or in article space, again; there's no reason to correct them, because readers will never see them in article-space. - Dank (push to talk) 21:31, 20 September 2018 (UTC)

Commas in front of "and"
WTF is going on with these people who keep putting commas in front of and when I'm trying to connect to related clauses? This seems to be a new thing that I wasn't taught in any of my English classes. Do you have any idea why these people are doing it? 'Cause it don't strike me as grammatical in any way.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 00:48, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
- I guess it'd be helpful to have an example of what I'm talking about, wouldn't it? See Ceranthor's edits to Petropavlovsk-class battleship.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 00:52, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Sturm. Talk it over with Ceranthor ... show him other FAs that don't have commas between conjoined independent clauses, and ask him why he thinks they're mandatory. - Dank (push to talk) 01:08, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
- I will, but I don't think that he's the only one doing this, so I was wondering if there was something new under the sun that I was unaware of. Some new methodology like New Math was back in our day.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 01:21, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
- Off the top of my head, that request hasn't come up once in 4 years at WP:ERRORS#TFA today ... sounds like it's new. - Dank (push to talk) 01:26, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
- He's responded on the review and I've asked for a cite. If you have time, feel free to weigh in; if not, that's fine as well.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 16:59, 1 October 2018 (UTC)

TFA entry for Charles Scott
I took interest and commented here, but the thread was cleared. Please see the page history. Jmar67 (talk) 15:59, 22 October 2018 (UTC)
- I did see it, thanks. It wouldn't have been my wording choice, btw. - Dank (push to talk) 16:03, 22 October 2018 (UTC)
I-75 in MI blurb
Just a quick reminder, in the context of highways, capitalization matters. An "Interstate" or an "Interstate Highway" is a component of the Dwight D. Eisenhower System of Interstate and Defense Highways, while an "interstate highway" merely crosses state lines. Not all Interstates run in an interstate fashion. We get the same capitalization distinction with the United States Numbered Highway System where the shorter name "U.S. Highway" has a different meeting than a "U.S. highway". - I understand, or thought I understood; did I screw up? - Dank (push to talk) 14:08, 31 October 2018 (UTC) Nevermind! Found it and fixed it. - Dank (push to talk) 14:14, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
- Also, freeway construction in Michigan started during World War II, so that one sentence should be changed back to specify that construction on I-75 started in 1957. Segments of other Interstates precede both the oldest segments of I-75 and the Interstate Highway System itself. Imzadi 1979 → 14:06, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
- The problem is, the sentence just before that one says "the modern freeway", and very few readers will take "freeway" in the very next sentence to mean something different than it meant in the sentence just before. Would it work to change it to Interstate (capitalized)? - Dank (push to talk) 14:08, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
- "Within the state, the interstate", we need to capitalize that last word in that segment, or should we substitute another word to avoid the "the state... the interstate" repetition? Also, we have the insertion about the after-statehood plank roads and early state highways between "modern freeway" and "freeway construction" that could confuse readers without clarification that the sentence is specific to I-75. Imzadi 1979 → 14:19, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
- Okay see if that works for you. - Dank (push to talk) 14:21, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
