P.S. I like messages :-P
Thanks, Redwolf24!
[edit]Hello, sorry for the slow reply, I kinda assumed that the above was an automatically generated message. But now I see that you're just a very friendly person! Thanks for the welcome. And the point about adding four tildes was very useful (after i'd got Wikipedia to tell me what a tilde is) as i added my first talk-page comment recently. Thanks, Redwolf24.

[edit]Not the David Gauntlett? Are you serious? "Ten Things Wrong with the Media Effects Model" ? Whose article made me practically yell out for joy in the library when I first read it, and my students last year thanked me for pointing them in its direction? The JPS 12:06, 13 August 2005 (UTC)
Hello
[edit]Thanks for your message. Strangely enough, I have been getting excited about Papert and constructionism, your own ongoing project, and wikipedia pretty much simultaneously over the last couple of months, so it has been a rare pleasure to see them converge so neatly. Evidently, I need to get out more...
Think there's a way to go on the constructionism article- there are some great resources and ideas kicking about out there in the ether- so I'm looking forward to watching it grow. Thanks for starting it! All the best. Bricolab 13:14, 20 September 2005 (UTC)
I can't remember if I contributed to this or not -- I'm pretty sure you must have, but Media audiences has been deleted (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Media audiences). I've asked User:Who to retrieve it to see what state it was in. It only received one vote against -- I have a feeling it was a deletion with an agenda. The JPS 21:33, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
- Ignore -- I think the only edit was from an anon IP, so the deletion could be justified. The JPS 23:53, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
Bourdieu
[edit]Just thought you might be interested in my article about Bourdieu, which has just been published: http://journal.media-culture.org.au/0510/06-stephenson.php The JPS 22:40, 26 October 2005 (UTC)
I have destubbed this article, and I am working on making ready for Wikipedia:Featured articles candidates. Among the sources I used (and referenced) is your site. As your knowledge surely exceeds my grad-student level knowledge, if you could take a look at our current article and perhaps reviewe it (or just edit it), it would be most appreciated.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 02:53, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
I have recently posted a peer review request for the Idit Harel Caperton article. She is one of the proponents of constructionist learning (an article which you started). Any ideas on how to improve the Caperton article can be posted at the peer review link above and would be greatly appreciated, considering your level of knowledge on the general field. Cheers. youngamerican (talk) 14:38, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
Apologies
[edit]David, I've just found a belated message from you on my userpage after a a couple of months. Really ought to check more often, but have been snowed under of late. Sorry I couldn't help out on the pocket pack, which is a very nifty idea, and one that has transmigrated from the London tube to the Tokyo metro! Glad that it wasn't deleted. There do seem to be a few overzealous thought-policemen out there, though... Probably easier to contact me, should you have any future crises (or otherwise), via michael@bricolab.com, which you are always welcome to do! As always, your projects inspire and entertain.

[edit]Image:Martin-creed-smiling.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Martin-creed-smiling.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu badali (talk) 16:29, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
Comments on Structuration theory welcomed!
[edit]Hi! My name is MJ. I recently completed large-scale edits to the Structuration theory page. I saw your contribution to the Anthony Giddens Talk page and I hoped that you might be interested in commenting or contributing to a discussion about the comprehensiveness, readability, clarity, and accuracy of the content and structure of the structuration theory page. Giddens pioneered structuration theory, and the page has been listed as "Highly Important" on for the Sociology WikiProject. I hope that I have done Giddens's ideas justice, and I hope to see you participate in the discussion over at the Structuration Talk page! Thank you! Mjscheer (talk) 21:26, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
