Page Deleted

The page I was creating ( Pearltrees ) has been deleted due to speedy deletion. I was actually creating it and was not done yet. That may explain the deletion. How can I retrieve it to finish it (in respect of the guidelines obviously)? Thanks Amsika (talk) 18:25, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

Why did you delete my edit to the Patrick Kennedy article? My edit was completely factual. Homosexual Providence mayor David Cicilline will replace him in January 2011, and that is all that I wrote. I have undid your revision. Please do not erase my edits like this in the future. Thank you. 173.71.93.148 (talk) 03:54, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

I reverted your edit because it was incomplete. It should have said "homosexual Italian mayor". Do try to be more careful in the future. ... discospinster talk 04:01, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

Joe Hawley 1

Hey Spinster, you just deleted that needless redirect--but what to do with Talk:Joe Hawley? Thanks, Drmies (talk) 03:19, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

Good question. Since it has administrative information on it, it shouldn't be deleted, but then again the main article redirects to the football player. Maybe we could move the tag to the Tally Hall (band) talk page so that the link to the AfD will be preserved -- what do you think? ... discospinster talk 03:24, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
I think that that is the way to go--a merge of sorts. Odd, isn't it. Do you care to do it? I need to put some kids to bed. Thanks! Drmies (talk) 03:28, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

Miroslav Klose

I see you have recently altered my Miroslav Klose page update and reveted it to it's original form.

I am deeply disappointed by this action; all the facts I presented are 100% true, from reliable sources, and were a result of high demand for accuracy.

I would like to hear reasons for these alterations, regardless of your views,

Many thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.150.61.29 (talk) 05:13, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

Would you be so kind as to check out this users edit history of their talk page and what they are writing in the edit summaries? To whom it may concern, Thank you for your concern. Do you really read all the edits or is done by software? If you have actually read my one edit you will see that it relates to land title or real property title which is all the same no matter what the instrument is called. Also you will notice it pertains to recovering a property owners home after foreclosure. I am personally in Cal. State Court on appeal for just this issue. I am very confident it will be remanded back to the superior court for trail on the very document that I have posted and that is why I have posted it. The other major reason I have posted it is because of all the trash about the foreclosure crisis and all the misinformation on the web and I have the only truthful defense for recovering a property that has been foreclosed on. People are on the web telling flat out lies and stealing peoples money out of nothing but shear greed saying they can help with foreclosure and knowing they can't. I have not come across one good site , edit or comment that can help owner's save their property.

Here the solution that nobody has figure out except me:

You can not stop the foreclosure sell! But what my document does and I am proceeding in court with it is that it will stop the EVICTION FOREVER . You do understand what that means. You get to stay in your home FOREVER! Than after 5 years you quiet the title and you own your home free and clear. So every post I have made is relative to each subject and if you were to ok it now that I have explained myself that would very helpful to the whole Country. What I was planning to do was to blog with a link to Wikipedia to spread the info as quickly as possible if that's alright with you?

You are asking if its so great why don't I sell it on the web and I would reply why is Wikipedia free? Because helping the people is priceless and besides I have renounced money because that is what is wrong in this world: GREED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Respectfully, William J. Brainard

If you would like to contribute to Wikipedia you are welcome, but you have to conform with the Manual of Style. You also need to introduce new information in a proper way, and not just dump it in the middle of any article that is half-way relevant. Also, Wikipedia should not be used for promoting your blog. ... discospinster talk 22:01, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

Thank you very much. I thought showing by example that which 99.999999% of the people that have been foreclosed on don't understand or for that matter the world would be a good way to introduce new information in a proper way. You see if people understood the information by explanation that which has literally taken me 20 years to understand from all the hearsay of explanation I introduced by example they would still be in their home instead of homeless as in not a home owner anymore. So believe when I say I am not doing this for any personal gain and only for the hope that the Nation does not fall into the dark abyss that probably more than likely it will disappear into in our lifetime. And to my blogging reference its meant more towards the old saying you can lead a horse water or the one about someone learning to fish instead of asking for someone to cook him dinner every night who isn't his mother. If more people understood the law we wouldn't be blaming everybody else because we are so ignorant about what's really important in the World today. Like what are we going to do after we have destroyed the environment to everything that lives in the ocean. Well on that note I thank you again and I will be a little more restrained and careful not to harm or destroy any of your cyberspace.

Discospinster,

I am very disappointed with the persons behind the "Masks" of Wikipedia. I was trying to post pertinent information that can literally help millions of people in this country and yet not one of the "Masks" have offered to help me with my post. You knew that I was a neophyte to Wikipedia when you took your actions against me and instead of offering your experience to help me you had to play the little game of disco dick I am a retired carpenter and contractor of 30 years. The information and understanding I have of land sales and real property sales only exists in my head out of 6 billion people on this plant. The document I created and tried to post does not exist because if it did it would be in use and on the Internet. I do not make these claims from ignorance or arrogance but what I have witness from Wikipedia itself. A great amount of information on Wikipedia is hearsay from one ignorant person to another and then posted. Please post my document at "Land Patent" AND "Color of Title" because it meets the requirement of Wikipedia or email the minimum steps or procedures to do it myself because if you had done this in the first place the People could be using it instead of wasting more Time.

If you have something new and groundbreaking to tell the world, Wikipedia is not the place to do it. One of the policies of Wikipedia is that it's not a place to post original research -- everything must be attributable to reliable secondary sources. Basically if you've just thought it up, no matter how many people it would help, it doesn't belong on Wikipedia. I'm sorry if you attributed my lack of help to rudeness, but there is really no way to get that information into the article while adhering to the policy. You could take advantage of free web pages such as Google Sites or a blog like Wordpress to communicate your ideas. ... discospinster talk 20:05, 24 December 2010 (UTC)

"Why Is There No English Wiki?"

Hi DS. I note that you've deleted the page I was preparing. Fine. However, is there anybody anywhere amongst the 'powers-that-be' who could answer my query? If there is a wiki for Catalan, rather than Castilian Spanish, when Catalonia does not even enjoy international sovereignty, why then is there no wiki available for those within the UK who wish to enjoy our own particular spelling, grammar and, indeed, world outlook? I have found nobody willing to answer this legitimate question. Can you? Or are you able to forward me to somebody who can? This may be quite a pointed question at the moment as Jimmy Wales entreats me to give funds to a wiki which at the moment actively conspires against that British identity I have identified above, as it isd imundated by world speakers of English, including those US contributors who inevitably will preponderate in their numbers on any contentious issue (US role in the Middle East etc.). Thanks for your patience. I had thought that the entry itself WAS in my sandbox. I'd hoped to finish making points on it before a 'reveal'. My apologies to you for that. Jatrius (talk) 20:12, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

I can't answer your question, Jatrius. The only reason I can think of is that Wikipedias go by language, and Catalan is more different from Castilian Spanish than UK English is from American English. The differences between the UK and American versions would be so minimal that the Wikipedias would basically be duplications. However, if you look at WP:ENGVAR, you'll see that articles about UK topics use UK spelling/grammar, and "neutral" topics can be written about in either UK or American English as long as it's consistent throughout the article. ... discospinster talk 19:47, 24 December 2010 (UTC)

What the hell is "fancruft" sounds like a mest up kind of sexual pleasure. Anyway, although I have come off as an imature person, I'd just like you to know you have no idea what the hel lyou're tlaking about. I come from the RA2 comunity, I've talked to many famous people involved in it. this "fancruft" bullshit is retarted. we will continue to revert the page as many times as needed.

I did not add any information so I'm not sure what you mean by that. ... discospinster talk 01:23, 25 December 2010 (UTC)

BTW, its aparent you don't know how the internet works, because you deleted stuff involving RA2, it's company, and many advancements in the technology. Do it again. and you'll have alot more on the WOKOPODO to clean up.

I took out the unencyclopedic information again. If there is something non-trivial about official tournaments that could be added then that's fine, but excessive detail doesn't belong. This includes things like members of the discussion forum (whether or not it's the official discussion forum), conflicts between game players, names of robots, all that stuff about a rival website, lists of mods, etc. That's what I deleted. The article is not supposed to be a page listing every little thing that happens. That's how Wikipedia works, whether you agree with it or not. You probably also shouldn't threaten to disrupt the site, or WOKOPODO for that matter.
If you have a problem with my editing you can complain at WP:ANI. ... discospinster talk 00:03, 26 December 2010 (UTC)

Per this log. I am unconcerned by being called names - and not that one, since I choose to shave my head - and would personally usually not bother. Of course, being an admin and oversighter I can review almost any "hiding" (and I have in this case) so I am fairly difficult to protect. What are we going to do about this lad? We explained, he put it in again, you zapped it, now there is this - he's not giving away so much personal information this time, but he's not doing anything for the encyclopedia, he's clearly only here to write about himself and his books. He hasn't been warned enough to block, and this version isn't really speediable. I'm inclined to MfD it again, and give him a stern warning that Wikipedia is not his web-host and he is liable to to be blocked if he carries on. What do you think? Hi. For some reason my rewrite of the bio of Sayed Mahdi al Modarresi keeps getting deleted and a copyright violation is cited. However, what you are missing is the fact that enlight.ahlulbayt.tv is citing Wikipedia, not the other way around!! The precise wording of the external article does not appear in the history of the Wikipedia article until the revision of 30 December 2010, so it's not possible that the external article was copied from the Wikipedia article. Blocking and warning

Just a friendly note from another admin. The situation you ran into on ANI recently is easy to slip into accidentally – it's the type of thing that repeats itself with different users over and over. I usually think that avoiding the word "vandalism" entirely makes communication more effective, particularly with editors who think that they are doing something positive. And some people will find it harder to stand behind you when they think that your warnings were in any way inaccurate. Anyway, the block has expired and I think we can put the whole thing behind us. I have read your guidelines link and am very offended that Poperap was deleted, I think a substantial amount of people used and appreciated this page, moreover there are Youtube videos of them, of course they do not document their work as this is where they could start, so please reconsider what is in my opinion a ruthless deletion Malkitas (talk) 20:32, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

Your vandalism on Women's rights in Saudi Arabia

Your script-based reverting is vandalism. You obviously have not read the article. You have not read the discussion. You have not read the edit summaries. You are exacerbating an edit war. The content in question is not being removed against consensus: it is being ADDED without consensus. If you spent any time looking at the article history, you would know this. It is not being removed without explanation; it has been removed with the following explanations: 1) it is merely a list that contributes nothing to the narrative of the article, 2) it is mostly trivia--no discussion or analysis is provided, 3) it is only related indirectly to the subject, 4) the article has received several criticisms for being too long from recent peer- and GA-reviews. If you're going to revert edits, take the time to understand what is going in the article, instead of running a script. Nobody who makes dozens of reverts an hour is in a position to be constructive. If you continue to edit in ways that throw fuel on fires because you think a running a script is a substitute for consensus-building, you will damage the community. Please undo your own reverts--or take the time to actually read the article. Mindbunny (talk) 19:18, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

A section was removed from the article without any explanation in the edit summary. If you don't want such actions to be reverted in the future I suggest you use the edit summary to explain why you are doing it. ... discospinster talk 22:52, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
No section was removed. The content in question is nothing but a list. Relative to the consensus version of the article, the issue is the addition of the material, not the removal of it. The explanation was given in the first edit summary, and in the Talk page. Yes, I could have copied/pasted my edit summary from the first edit to the next, but the expectation is that "patrollers" will do more than blindly revert. You are not entitled to go around reverting edits without care for whether they really are vandalism because you can't be bothered to take three seconds to look at the edit history or look at the Talk page. The rule is that you revert vandalism, not that you revert any edit that doesn't have a summary. Your actions are disruptive and sloppy. Take three seconds the familiarize yourself with an article before reverting. Mindbunny (talk) 23:03, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
If you had explained your action in the edit summary it would serve as a signal to the RC patrollers that there was thought put into the edit. Not using an edit summary conveys the opposite. That is sloppy editing, and I can see from your talk page history that it's been mentioned to you before. I suggest you pay attention to the messages on your talk page before accusing long-standing Wikipedia editors of vandalism and disruption. ... discospinster talk 23:38, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
It's not our job to signal to RC patrollers. It is the job of anybody who makes edits to know what they're doing--to put more thought into it than a bot. In this case, that means you would have had to spend 60 seconds looking at the article history and/or the Talk page. Mindbunny (talk) 04:26, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
Actually, that's what the edit summary is for. From WP:ES: It is good practice to fill in the Edit Summary field, or add to it in the case of section editing, as this helps others to understand the intention of your edit. It is not vandalism to revert a section blanking that does not have an edit summary. ... discospinster talk 05:02, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi I created the first latin Microblogging service for Latin people, similar to Twitter. If you haven't heard of Boritweeter or really don't understand it, you soon will. Among other things, Boritweeter offers instant communication and the power of microblogging — short, 200-character postings made accessible to and from computers and cell phones. Hi! This is my first time creating a wiki, and I obviously didn't do it properly the first time around. Some of the content is stuff that I wrote that is not available on their site, and some is stuff that is available on their site. Can you please tell me if this new version is better, if it isn't better, can you help me make this wiki so that I can make more contributions and get better at this with your guidance.

According to its website, "Ultrinsic is a web based incentive program that allows college students to invest money in their future academic performance." Ultrinsic allows students to bet against each other on their course grades. And if Ultrinsic can't find a classmate for a student to bet against, they will even take the other side of the bet.

According to its website, "Ultrinsic began in 2008 as a friendly challenge between Jeremy Gelbart and Steven Wolf. In an effort to provide Jeremy with motivation to study for an exam, Steven and Jeremy agreed to the following challenge: If Jeremy got an A on the exam, Steven would give him $100, but if Jeremy didn't get an A, Jeremy would give Steven $20. After Jeremy got aced the exam and won the challenge, Steven and Jeremy began developing what is now Ultrinsic."

The popularity of Ultrinsic exploded in the Summer of 2010 after the company was featured in international and national news publications such the Wall Street Journal, Fox News (Your World with Neil Cavuto), Fox Business, and CNBC. More articles about Ultrinsic can be found in their Press Room.

According to the website, "ULTRINSIC is as an ULTerior motivation that produces intRINSIC love of knowledge."

Discospinster, I was very surprised when you deleted my article 'Grosse Teub'. I feel that there is no basis for such action and would kindly like you to revert the deletion. The article was completely factual and unless you also go to high school in Geneva you are in no place to tell me otherwise. Marc Mysterio Page Vandalism

Hi, I noticed you placed a protection on the Marc Mysterio page in 2009. It came to my attention that a user with the handle KWW is, and has been for over 2 years, needlessly butchering this article of sourced info.

I have now reverted his edits on a few occasions and added sources but this fellow is intent on killing this article, and this is a very known musician on major labels and major press.

Can you please place the article under a loock status to prevent this KWW from further vandalizing and revert the edits he may make in the interim between now and the time you get this.

He is even deleting sourced notices of the artist collab on a Grammy winner new album (Roger Sanchez) and other chartings.

This is one of the better sourced articles on this web site to it seems this KWW may have some personal issue or obession with the artist.

marc mysterio page is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marc_Mysterio —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.165.159.213 (talk) 03:28, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Take a look at the history, and I'm sure you will notice that the edits I am reverting are puffery, unsourced information, and questionable charts. The anon here is either Marc Mysterio himself or one of his promotional staff. It's been a running problem on the page for several years.—Kww(talk) 03:38, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
I see that User:EdJohnston has gone ahead and protected the page. My work here is done. ... discospinster talk 04:39, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Hello Discospinster.

Edjohnston has protected it, only after KWW revandalized the article by reverting to his 2 day old unnecessary revisions chopping out content that you, as noted on the talk page in 2009, argued to keep. So, this circumvents my intent of requesting this since KWW is the vandal.

This is not new information. It is information that has been present on the page, apparently for over 1 year and sourced that KWW has removed, out of the blue, 2 days ago. Im not speaking about the charts, per se. If you go to the page and note the last reversion KWW did (to his own revert) you will see that everything is properly sourced including sourced collaboration with grammy winner, mtv, etc.

I am not connected to the artist or article. I did not make this additional content. It was there and been there for years until KWW decided to come in and butcher it. I simply am defending it as its properly sourced, and I added additional sources. Feel free to take a look at reverting the last change of KWW and see all the sourced things removed. Even a sourced notation that a song of the artist appeared on an album that was top 10 on the dutch national sales chart (TMF Dance 2010)

I am new to wikipedia so dont know how to use all the features. But I noticed this edit 2 days ago when looking up Marc Mysterio new song and I was in a back and forth of reverting KWW edits for 3 days which is not productive.

THIS IS A PASTE OF THE PAGE WITH ALL THE SOURCED INFO PRIOR TO KWW NEEDLESS EDITS (COMPARE IT TO CURRENT VERSION) PLEASE REVERT KWW LAST CHANGES: Marc Mysterio is an artist/dj/producer.[1] Marc Mysterio runs two labels - World Class Records & Amerada Music[2][3], while also being signed as an artist to various labels globally, such as Spinnin Records, Sony Music Entertainment, Joia Records, and more! He and Moss consider "One More Time" to be a great influence in their work and intended to create a version of the song with a "2009 feel".[14] "Tomorrow" Marc Mysterio feat. The music video has been featured globally on MTV [27], Much Music[28], M6 (France)[29], TMF [30] and more with a German and Australian Release on the Horizon in Q1 2011 while international djs featured the Mysterio Hit frequently in their playlists, including: Paul Oakenfold, Roger Sanchez[31], Judge Jules, Stonebridge, Paul Van Dyk, DLG, Benny Benassi, Stonebridge, Thomas Gold and more. Indeed 2011 shapes up to be an even bigger year for the charismatic Canadian as he has collaborated with Roger Sanchez to co-produce and co-write a title for Roger's new artist album[32], not to mention that his newest single, 'Let Loose', a collaboration with 2x Grammy Winning Katy Perry/Rhianna producer Sandy Vee is set for 2011 global release. Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion, guidelines for use at WP:MINOR). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and all users will still be able to manually mark their edits as being minor in the usual way.

For well-established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:10, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

UPDATE MARC MYSTERIO

Hello. I have attempted to speak with this KWW via the artist talk page to no avail. Can you assist with getting this to mediation? This individual, KWW, has removed a quote from Judge Jules that was sourced which you advocated for, apparently, on the artist talk page in 2009.

There is no reason that this quote should not remain, that the sourced international MTV/TMF/Much Music/M6 france Video play should be removed, that the sourced collaborations with grammy winners and on grammy winning albums should be removed.

Please assist. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.165.159.213 (talk) 07:19, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

The additions you are making are not consistent with Wikipedia's policy of neutrality. Describing him as a "veteran actor" is not neutral language, not sourced, and also not accurate, since he's only been acting for 15 years. His film credits appear later in the article; there's no need to mention in the intro how many movies he's been in. Even the Brad Pitt article doesn't talk about that in the lead paragraph. See WP:LEAD for what normally goes in there. For example, "In general, the emphasis given to material in the lead should reflect its relative importance to the subject, according to reliable sources." Is the fact that he's been in over 40 films what makes him notable? ... discospinster talk 16:50, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
