Latin American music task force
Hello DivaKnockouts! I've noticed your works on articles related to Latin American music especially to articles related to reggaeton like Ivy Queen. I would like to invite you to the Latin American music task force a collaborative effort which aims to create, expand, and maintain Latin American music-related articles. If you'd like to join, please sign up here. Thank you. Erick (talk) 17:13, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
Everything going alright?
Everything going alright? Need any help on any album articles? I have a plenty of Good Articles on my userpage that you can use as examples if you ever plan to nominate an article for Good Article. In regards, Erick (talk) 22:07, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hmm yes, the article Drama Queen could definitely use an improvement and I'll happy to assist especially with the technical stuff like samples such. I would like to refer you to the Album article style guide on how to develop an article for an album. If you need an example, look at my GA article Contra la Corriente (Marc Anthony album). Erick (talk) 14:31, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, for now I have the albums properly cited and added the Year-end charts. Do you use sandboxes to develop articles? Erick (talk) 15:41, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
- Not required, just some editors perfer to develop their articles on the sandbox. I'm sure you'll do fine. Erick (talk) 21:29, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
- I'll leave comments on the article talk page. Erick (talk) 20:01, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

Saluts
Hi! I think we met in the worst way and i want to apologize for my harsh comments on the deletion page of Musa's "upcoming" art. I was a little upset for something else and it wasn't the best way to talk, i admit. I'm a fried of Erick, just as you are, and i've noticed you want Drama Queen to reach GA status, right? I'm a GA reviewer (i've reviewed some of Erick's nominees) and i'm willing to help you on everything you might need on the article. If you need something, just ask! I'd be glad to help you the best i can. Cheers! --Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 16:52, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
- I would like to apologize too, It's none of my business whether you listen to Ivy Queen or not. And I was actually mad about something else as well. And yes, I'm trying to get Drama Queen GA status, thanks, I would really appreciate your help. Erick actually left some comments on the article's talk page, and as of right now that what I'm working on. If you'd like you can leave some of your comments as well. Thanks! --DivaKnockouts (talk) 17:40, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
- Alright! Friends then? :) I leave my comments on the article later, since i'm studying for a math exam i have tomorrow :) --Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 17:54, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
- Friends! (: And thats fine! Good Luck on your exam! --DivaKnockouts (talk) 17:56, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

Drama Queen
Hey! I hope you've seen i made some amendments to the article a couple of days ago. I'll check it again and post what I think is missing on the TP. If you want, you can nominate it and you fix all during the GA nomination, which is permitted. —Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 15:00, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
- Forget the GA. We'll fix it on the talk page, we need some work here. —Hahc21 [TALK][CONTRIBS] 15:09, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks and thats fine.(: And yes, I noticed, thanks I really appreciate the help (: DivaKnockouts (talk) 23:48, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
- I think you should wait a bit before nominating GAN. I'd suggest requesting a copy-edit at the the guild and then getting a peer review here. Erick (talk) 16:25, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks and thats fine.(: And yes, I noticed, thanks I really appreciate the help (: DivaKnockouts (talk) 23:48, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
Okay so now that you've done both, it can take a while before either gets the article done. Is there any other article you want to work on in the meantime? Erick (talk) 00:22, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
- Actually, there are two, Sentimiento and Musa, but since Musa hasn't been released yet, I was thinking about starting with Sentimiento. What do you think? Thanks! DivaKnockouts (talk) 00:31, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
- Sentimiento would be easier to do since Musa isn't out yet and information changes after the album gets released. Erick (talk) 00:48, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Sentimiento
I've added the sample per you request. I did some clean up on the certifications as well. You can request both Sentimiento and Drama Queen to be accessed for the article rating here. Erick (talk) 20:08, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
WP:Latin music members
Hello, I posted a message on WP:Latin music about a future collaboration between all members to bring Latin music to FA status. Please join in the discussion :) Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 22:48, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
Hi, DivaKnockouts, I'm beginning the copy-edit you requested for the above article at the GOCE requests page. Please feel free to contact me, or to correct or revert my edits if I'm doing something I shouldn't be doing. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 23:58, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
- Done - I've marked some sections and paragraphs as unreferenced, and I've removed redundant writers credits from Composition. Critical reception needs expanding. I strongly recommend that you ask for another peer review before you take it to GA. I'd be happy to revisit the article via the requests page once the article has been expanded. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 02:50, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
Busco un Pueblo
Want to work on this together? Or at least the articles for the songs? Erick (talk) 22:28, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
- Jaja, actually I think we should do the singles first because the album is still new and information about it can change over time. I'd say we start with "Si Tu Me Besas" and then "Ella Lo Quiere Es Salsa" next. Sounds good? Erick (talk) 23:10, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
- Great! I'll do some cleanup on the album page first and help out from there. I have college though so I won't be that active but it should be enough to work. Erick (talk) 23:30, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
You can go ahead and create the article for "Ella Lo Quiere Es Salsa". I have an idea to make a "Did You Know" (DYK) that involves both articles. Erick (talk) 03:24, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
- I love both songs, I prefer the first one, but hey, Victor Manuelle is my current favorite salsa singer and he makes me feel proud to be Puerto Rican! I think we should do more Puerto Rican songs together to show our pride as Boricuas, no? I was thinking of doing Tito "El Bambino" next with you starting with his singles from El Patron. Is that alright with you? Erick (talk) 04:01, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
- Jaja, well I'm a salsaholic so it's my main genre. Salsa remixes, like "Amor de una Noche" and "Mi Libertad" right? For El Bambino we could start with "El Amor" then "Mi Cama Huele a Ti" and the rest of his best singles chronology from there. Erick (talk) 04:31, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
I have created a Did You Know nomination. Feel free to sugget an alternative hook on the bottom. Erick (talk) 07:38, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
Your GA nomination of Drama Queen (Ivy Queen album)
The article Drama Queen (Ivy Queen album) you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Drama Queen (Ivy Queen album) for things which need to be addressed. DYK for Si Tú Me Besas
On 1 October 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Si Tú Me Besas, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the songs "Si Tú Me Besas" and "Ella Lo Que Quiere Es Salsa" helped Víctor Manuelle become the artist with the most number-one singles on the Billboard Tropical Songs chart? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Latin Rhythm Airplay
Just thought this should help you out. You can't access the Latin Rhythm Airplay on Billboard.com, so to get information on the charts, go to Billboard.biz, move the mouse to charts and click on archive. Select "Singles Charts Archive Search" and choose "Latin Rhythm Airplay" (or go here for faster). There's also the Latin Rhythm Digital Songs, but should not be used unless the song did not already ranked on the Latin Rhtyhm Airplay chart. Hope that helps. Erick (talk) 18:21, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
- Yes! It does!! Thank you!! I see you haven't working on "El Amor" lately.. xD I've just been adding information little by little. I'm a big help. LOL jk. -- DivaKnockouts (talk) 23:55, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
- Well, the song article needs is when and where it was recorded and some background information. Oh yeah, and another thing, you can also use the search provider at Billboard.biz for the Latin Rhythm Albums as well. Erick (talk)
- Yeah, I was actually looking into that a couple days ago, but couldn't find anything. I'll search again. And yes, I noticed that when I went back to archive, thanks!!! - DivaKnockouts (talk) 00:17, 31 October 2012 (UTC)

On 18 November 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Te Regalo Amores, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the song "Te Regalo Amores" by R.K.M & Ken-Y reached No. 1 on both the Billboard Latin Rhythm Airplay and Latin Tropical Airplay charts? Tito El Bambino
So does it feel to have to DYKs on your talk page? Pretty good eh? :P Anyways, I'm ready to work on Tito El Bambino songs. I'd like to start with his singles from El Patron beginning with El Amor. Would that be alright? Erick (talk) 05:00, 3 October 2012 (UTC)
- Cool. Can you start a sandbox for it? If you don't know how, just copy the article and added it to User:DivaKnockouts/Sandbox. Erick (talk) 22:28, 3 October 2012 (UTC)

I'm pretty much done with the article. I went ahead and expanded El Amor and nominated it for a Did You Know? I didn't want to take too much time since I've been busy with college so I just rushed it. Erick (talk) 05:30, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
- Aquí. BTW, nice job "Te Regalo Amores", I saw it on the front page. Erick (talk) 05:37, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
- No problem. :) You've gotten alot better at editing as well. Erick (talk) 05:53, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
- No, that's the former template back when the Latin music project was a task force, so now it's obsolete. I'm doing some clean up right now on article titles, specifically on capitalization. Example, the article for "Mi Cama Huele a Ti" is listed as Mi cama huele a ti, so I've been tagging them to move them back. If you come across any article titles for songs and albums like this, let me know and I'll fix it. Erick (talk) 06:07, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
- That's right. A quick db-move template should do the trick with the reason being "per WP:NCCAPS and WP:UE]" or "per Allmusic". Erick (talk) 06:15, 24 November 2012 (UTC)

RE: Mi Cama Huele a Ti
Sure, why not? I like that song as well. Not related to the previous discussion, but I another useful advice for you with non-notable song articles. I noticed you originally PROD La Playa (song), but didn't want to go through the delete process and removed it. Rather than deleting, you can just simply redirect non-notable song articles to the parent album or artist article. EDIT: Oh yeah just remembered what I was going to say, you can archive older discussion on your talk page. Erick (talk) 05:17, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
Entren los Que Quieran
Thank you very much for the review! Sorry about the super long delay in my response, I have been a bit busy, but I will try to fix the issues soon. The only one I am worried about is the music sample issue, because I am terrible with music files (hence why I put up ones that were way too big haha). I am hoping to recruit someone to help me with that. Thanks again for the review :) Basilisk4u (talk) 19:05, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

Bad news
Billboard.biz archive will no longer work. Need to be a subscriber to access those charts now. I was warned that this could happen, but I should've had them manually archived. :( Erick (talk) 04:33, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
- — ΛΧΣ21™ 04:39, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
- I know. :( That means the Mexican Airplay will have to be manually archived...again. This still works. But that means you can't access the Latin Rhythm charts. Erick (talk) 04:43, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
- Wow, that is bad :( Does this mean that songs that have only charted on charts such as Latin Rhythm can be challenged for notability? DivaKnockouts (talk) 04:53, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
- No, it means you'll have to tag the references for Billboard.biz you've already used with this template. The only other way that I know of now to get the Latin Rhythm charts is by Google Books. But even that can be a problem because the newer issues are not there and some issues may not be available. Erick (talk) 04:55, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
- Damn. Well thanks for letting me know Erick! :/ That sucks :( EDIT: Also, the regular Billboard site, is unreliable at times, the song "Quiero Bailar" peaked at #29 on the Hot Latin Songs chart, though on Billboard.com it doesn't show up at times. This has happened for a number of songs I've done and I just started using Billboard.biz only. DivaKnockouts (talk) 05:06, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
- When that happens, just link directly to the song. I used Google search for that one. If that doesn't work either (like it says the song never charted), you can use Allmusic as an alternative source (just click under "Awards" tab for the artist or album). However Allmusic does not have Latin Rhythm charts and singles released in the same year are in alphabetical order rather than chronological order. BTW, the Tropica Songs charts on the main site are also screwed up, you can't get charts before August 2009 due a glitch on the site. I'm really frustrated right now. >:( Erick (talk) 05:25, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
- As am I -.- Though, sometimes Allmusic can also be unreliable, the song "Sentimientos peaked at #44 on the Dance Club/Play Songs chart based on the Billboard.biz source, and the Allmusic source shows the debut position. They just wanted to screw us in time for Christmas, didn't they? DivaKnockouts (talk) 05:36, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

(Many facepalms) And you know what's even worse? Lots of charts have been disappearing. The Mexicancharts stopped updating, meaning you have to archive the chart in Mexico and they removed older certifications. The Argentine certifications disappeared because of a hacker group and those charts aren't the only ones to disappear recently. It's really fucked up right now. How is anyone working on Latin music supposed to get anything done when they keep screwing us over?
- Yes >:( It is very much
fuckedup. (This is for Billboard & Prometheus Global Media I've noticed that as well, many charts disappearing. It's going to be hard now. Its just a shame :( DivaKnockouts (talk) 05:48, 4 December 2012 (UTC)- I mean, who's going to pay $200+ a year just for some music charts? (sigh) I'm done talking about this, I'm just glad I was able to access before this happened. I guess since I bring up archiving so much,e I mind as well tell you the Latin American singles charts. Mexico 1 (or at least now you have to archive when you didn't have to before), Mexico 2, Colombia, Honduras, and Venezuela. These charts are reliable and can be used on song articles. But they do not have a searchable database, meaning you'll have to manually archive. To do that, you can use a manual archive like WebCitation to do the trick. The two Mexican charts I posted are different, so they can be both be used. I hope this somewhat lightens the mood (okay not really). Now if you'll excuse, I'm going take the night off. Erick (talk) 06:01, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

name listed wrong for jenni rivera
Her birthname was Janny not Jenny hince the reason her daughter Janny is nicknamed chiquis meaning sort of like a jr. To her mothers name.66.87.4.114 (talk) 16:15, 13 December 2012 (UTC) christina
- The New York Times source states her birth name was Jenny Dolores Rivera Saavedra, later changing her name. Regards. DivaKnockouts (talk) 16:20, 13 December 2012 (UTC)
Man, I can't believe what happened, you know. :( And what's crazy is how our song article El Amor featured Jenni Rivera. Erick (talk) 19:39, 13 December 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, It came as a shock to me. I hadn't even realized what happened until Harold told me. It's very sad. I didn't like her Banda music, but enjoyed her Pop music. I also found myself watching her show a lot. She was a very strong woman throughout her life and didn't deserve this. DivaKnockouts (talk) 20:30, 13 December 2012 (UTC)

- Sure no prob. We all make mistakes so no worries. I noticed this from some of your edits so I'll add this, WP:SONGCOVER only allows notable covers and samples to a song article to prevent too much unnecessary covers and samples cluttering up popular pages. Erick (talk) 05:56, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
- Ahh, okay! I understand now! On a unrelated note, I think Drama Queen is the first reggaeton album GA! XD. — DivaKnockouts (talk) 06:03, 3 January 2013 (UTC)

It's interesting you make an edit on Formula Vol. 1 since I'm working on that right now. Erick (talk) 00:48, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
- I had seen on your user page that you were going to start on the article in 2013 and decided since the year-end charts were missing, to help and add them. I'm sorry, I am a big of fan Mr. Santos by the way. — DivaKnockouts (talk) 00:55, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
- Oh no, it's cool, I really enjoyed the album as well, it's shame that Romeo didn't get a single Latin Grammy nomination. If the article goes really well, I might even nominate it for Featured Article. I've been wanting to do a Dominican-related article FA for some time. Bachata Rosa was going to be my first, but I felt the article was too short to do it. Now that I see Formula Vol., 1, that one might have a better chance. If you'd like to add something to my sandbox, feel free to use the talk page. Erick (talk) 00:58, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
- Oh okay :) Yes, he deserved at least one. It was a very excellent album. Hmm, It may have a chance, especially since it's his debut solo album and everyone went crazy when they found Aventura split and he was releasing an album. But what do I know? Hehe, I don't have a FA yet xD. I can't wait to see the finished product :D Good luck! — DivaKnockouts (talk) 01:06, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks! The complete article won't be finished until either Romeo or his record label stops promoting the album, and Romeo is still touring for the album. EDIT: Now that I've mentioned it, he'll be here in Orlando on March 28, so I hope I can see him. At least he's currently got a Grammy nomination. Erick (talk) 01:11, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
- You're welcome! Yeah that makes sense since promotion would be over. Well, how about his competition? I like is work as well, I might even work on his second studio album. — DivaKnockouts (talk) 01:17, 5 January 2013 (UTC)

Okay, I don't buy this whole "competition" thing that the media hypes up. Romeo invited Royce to his Madison Square Garden concert, so I don't really see any real rivalry between the two. I like Royce and I think it would be cool if Romeo composed a song for him, or better yet, make a duet. I was working with Royce with someone else before, but his debut album was so-and-so for me and I lost interest halfway. I like the singles, but the fillers kind of fall flat. I still might do an article for Royce in the future. Erick (talk) 01:22, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
- I ment to put competition in "quotes". I don't either, I see no rivalry between the two so really it is media hype. I don't know it could be the same for Phase ll. I'm still debating on it. — DivaKnockouts (talk) 01:43, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
- In my opinion, I think it would better to work on the articles for the songs instead. Erick (talk) 02:14, 5 January 2013 (UTC)

- DivaKnockouts - Congratulations on the GA's. You are a true living example of what community cooperation in Wikipedia is all about. Your work here will serve as an inspiration to many. There are many people who dedicate themselves to complaining about articles without doing anything to improve them. I am glad that you are not among them. Keep up the outstanding work. Request
I have a friendly request. Please provide the references or sources for your additions to the "Popular Culture" section in the "Did You Know - Puerto Rico?" article. It's the rules and we all have to follow them. Keep up the good work. Tony the Marine (talk) 06:51, 9 January 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks. I want to share with you a little history on that article. When we start the article years ago, we realized that there was no proof of some of things posted. We took those out and left those which we verified. Those that were verified didn't have to include a reference. Then it occurred to us that from then on all new additions will have to provide a source. I think that it is a very intersting DYK about Puerto Rico, right? Tony the Marine (talk) 07:10, 9 January 2013 (UTC)
- Oh wow. Well, I thought the point of that page was to list DYKs that had been previously featured on the main page of Wikipedia. Guess I was wrong. And yeah it is interesting! — DivaKnockouts (talk) 07:14, 9 January 2013 (UTC)

Latin Rhythm Airplay is back! ...Sort of
If you have not checked the Billboard website, it relaunched the site for better or for worse (I find it confuse to navigate). So while doing some touring of the website, I see that the Latin artists now show chart history for Latin Rhythm Airplay. I checked for Ivy Queen's Latin Rhythm history and, what do you know, it works!. It even has the Latin Rhythm Albums chart history for artists! Yet, the weekly charts for both Latin Airplay Albums & Songs are still not available publicly. =\ On Billboard.biz, the Latin Rhythm Albums and Latin Rhythm Airplay will only display the top three positions each week. What you can do to at least keep the top three positions, is to manually archive the url on WebCite. I already archived the first instance of Latin Rhythm Albums and Latin Rhythm Airplay for you. Erick (talk) 23:33, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
- Well, this great, somewhat. Queen appears mostly on this chart anyways so it's great! Thanks for letting me know & thanks for archiving them it should come in handy. This is good for you too right? Haha — DivaKnockouts (talk) 23:44, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
