A page you started (Susan Baker (professor)) has been reviewed!

[edit]

Thanks for creating Susan Baker (professor).

I have just reviewed the page, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Needs a better source than prabook[1]. Please note that insufficiently cited material may be deleted for WP:BLPSOURCES reasons.

To reply, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Hydronium Hydroxide}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ .

@Hydronium Hydroxide:
Thank you so much, I appreciate the quick review! :)
Apologies for the use of the prabook source, I did not realize and will remove it and try to find something else! I've been using Visual Editor almost exclusively because of the ease and efficiency of its automated referencing, compared to source editing, and have noticed it sometimes strips the reference of the specific page on a website where the information was found - apologies for that here too, I'll be more careful in the future.
EMT STL (talk) 15:38, 24 April 2019 (UTC) @EMT_STL[reply]
No worries -- I got caught by it the first time too. It's not quite obvious that it shouldn't be used, and it does appear to have compiled its base information from what are probably reliable sources -- if only they could be identified. ~Hydronium~Hydroxide~(Talk)~ 00:37, 25 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Thomas R. Russell

[edit]

Hello EMT STL,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Thomas R. Russell for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

I'm linking messages from DannyS712's talk page to keep record of resolution for Thomas R. Russell (page deleted): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:DannyS712#Thomas_R._Russell EMT STL (talk) 15:24, 29 April 2019 (UTC) @EMT_STL:[reply]

Hi @DannyS712, I just saw your message about the speedy deletion tag on the article I created about Thomas R. Russell. I'm fairly new to Wikipedia and this is the first time I've received the notice before, having created 11 pages. Apologies for the possible infringement, as that was never my intention! Would it possible to be more specific as to which section or element of the article the software flagged, so I could do a better job editing the information from the secondary source to ensure it has no copyright issues but is still a verifiable statement? Sorry again for the trouble!
Thank you so much
EMT STL (talk) 00:55, 29 April 2019 (UTC) @EMT_STL

@EMT STL: see the report at https://tools.wmflabs.org/copyvios/?lang=en&project=wikipedia&title=Thomas_R._Russell&url= --DannyS712 (talk) 00:57, 29 April 2019 (UTC)

Thank you for linking it, it appears as though the majority of the issues come from listing names of people/programs he created or led during his career, not that full statements or sentences were copied over directly. Is there anything you recommended doing - like linking to other verifiable references, or taking out mention of those things entirely? Not really sure what to do in this situation, as that article was a hive of information! - thank you again for the help :) EMT STL (talk) 01:06, 29 April 2019 (UTC) @EMT_STL

I would try to just phrase things differently - after reading through the source, and without looking at it, then try to write the section for the article. Of course, confirm that the source backs up what you wrote, but don't looking at the sources while you write, or you'll tend to use similar language. --DannyS712 (talk) 01:09, 29 April 2019 (UTC)

Thank you so much for your help! Will do so EMT STL (talk) 01:15, 29 April 2019 (UTC) @EMT_STL

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on University Innovation Fellows Program, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Global (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 01:01, 26 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi User:Whispyhistory, thanks for reaching out! Yes, just checked out your awesome user page - I noted our similar interests too, most notably with the RCSI presidents list - I have Kenneth Mealy (current RCSI president) and John Hyland (immediate past) on my mental list of pages I'm hoping to make soon.. Will definitely reach out once I begin the stubs for those - all the best! EMT STL (talk) 18:23, 26 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent..I have enjoyed RCSI...will edit them with you and then we can dyk them. Whispyhistory (talk) 18:28, 26 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The article Entrepreneurship Education and Pedagogy has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable relatively new journal. Not indexed in any selective databases, no independent sources. Does not meet WP:NJournals or WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Creating physician-scientist BLPs

[edit]

Hi EMT STL, I noticed your are part of WikiProject Medicine and have an interest in creating BLPs. I have a COI with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and its faculties, but have an interest to improve some of the physician-scientist biographies that work for the organization. Here are a few exapmles of articles I'm proposing for improvement or creation.

What is your level of interest to collaborate on a project like this?--Chefmikesf (talk) 22:37, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Craig Nelson, without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. See WP:DABNAME -- the "(disambiguation)" suffix is not needed if there is no primary topic. --Ahecht (TALK
