Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 00:09, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

A note regarding the WPVG Newsletter

Due to an apparent lack of interest, the WPVG Newsletter will be switching from a monthly publication schedule to a quarterly one. The next issue be delivered on July 1, 2009, and will pertain to the second quarter of the calendar year. If you have any comments regarding this, or suggestions to improve the newsletter, please post at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games/Newsletter.

Just in case you haven't had had had had had had had had had had had enough...

I'm hoping to keep the conversation about this article active and avoid the usual fleeing from a topic that takes place after an AfD has closed. There was much talk about merging this article but little agreement on where to merge it to. Therefore I am informing everyone who participated in the debate of the ongoing conversation here in order to bring this matter to a close sometime in our lifetimes. Windows Defender (2004-2009)

I appreciate your edit to Microsoft Security Essentials. There is just one thing I disagree about. Windows Defender has not been discontinued. In fact, it is bundled with Windows 7. Microsoft is still going to support and update Defender for quite a while, considering it comes with Windows 7 and cannot be uninstalled, only disabled. I hope you understand my rationale for undoing one little part of your edit. TechOutsider (talk) 08:59, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Languishing POV discussions

Hi, I notice that you tagged an article nearly a month ago as being involved in a POV dispute. Since this time there has been no discussion at talk at all, and there have only been 3 edits made to the article's mainspace (none of which are meaningfully related to the alleged dispute). Considering that no discussion of the matter seems to exist, I am tempted to remove the tag, however I thought I'd offer you the opportunity to initiate a discussion at talk before taking this step. If a POV problem exists with the article, I would like to remedy it as soon as possible. Thank you for your consideration of this issue. -Thibbs (talk) 16:01, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi. I got your message at my talk and I responded there. Sorry if I wasn't very clear, but you're right I was talking about the "Nonviolent video game" article. Can I rely on you to begin discussions over at Talk:Nonviolent video game then per Wikipedia:NPOVD#How to initiate an NPOV debate? I'd like to start addressing whatever problems may exist. Cheers. -Thibbs (talk) 15:52, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

UAA report

I'm confused about your UAA report of User:Nittany2207. That user's not promoting anything, just confused. Are you just mechanically reporting people as "promotional usernames" to UAA when they create a page that is the same as their username, regardless of the content of that page? We already have a bot that applies mechanical rules to detect possible violations. Because people have discretion that bots don't, the "User-reported" section is only for actual violations where a username block is necessary. rspεεr (talk) 09:19, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

The Wikipedia Signpost: 7 December 2009

Hi. Something about this page is causing it to appear in CAT:CSD as "user requests deletion". It hasn't got a db-u1 template on it, so that probably isn't what you want - perhaps you should look into it, before someone presses the button. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 13:02, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Veoh error.png

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Veoh error.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 08:14, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

Policy Report

A summary of the community's comments on our WP:Edit warring policy will be featured in the Policy Report in next Monday's Signpost, and you're invited to participate. Monthly changes to this page are available at WP:Update/1/Conduct policy changes, July 2009 to December 2009, and it may help to look at previous policy surveys at WT:SOCK#Interview for Signpost, WT:CIVILITY#Policy Report for Signpost or WT:U#Signpost Policy Report. There's a little more information at WT:Edit warring#Signpost Policy Report. I'm not watchlisting here, so if you have questions, feel free to ask there or at my talk page. Thanks for your time. (P.S. Your last edit at WT:Edit warring was months ago, but I'm hoping you remember something you consider interesting, because we haven't had much participation in the survey so far this week.) - Dank (push to talk) 02:24, 17 December 2009 (UTC)
