Hi Fergananim, I tried to leave but got up to my neck again in it, if you see the recent spat. One quality I greatly admire is fairness, and I hope WP keeps that way. I agree about the highhingship etc, and I suppose it's more complex. When I read the history of some neighbouring nations, on WP, I then realise that the Irish sections are very true to the facts. I come to it from a simpler format, in that Ireland was fairly a one culture Gaelic island. Some folks would say that Ireland was never one, and that suits their view. Historically Ireland was one in my interpretation. Gaeilge was spoken from north to south, pretty much on that basis. The very first line isn't mine. I knew it was risky, thanks. Re:Golden age etc

Hi Fergananim, I just dropped that one to Angus and ran away, had no clue where to start wikifying. But you will be disappointed if you're looking forward to examining my work unless you read Norwegian, and maybe even if you do. Here at en:wiki I've only written a stub about the Battle of Tara and expanded Áed Findliath a bit , on Norwegian language wiki I got stuck in the middle of Early mediaval Ireland, while it's IMHO a better start than en:wikis Early Medieval Ireland 800–1166 it's still far to go and I'm not making progress... Nowadays I'm mainly contributing at Commons, wielding a mop and trying to make myself useful without actually writing anything. I am interested in most history and a lot else too!!, but I have to say rural Ireland looks beautiful. My mum is always saying how lovely Ireland is! Coincidentally I have a DK eyewitness guide to Ireland on the bed at this moment! I think it is a very good idea to start the years pages by country particularly further back in time as it makes the encyclopedia more complete. First of all, when talking to users, put your comments on the talk page -- the discussion tab link at the top of the page when you're on their user page. Second of all... Hey, thanks for responding, things are ok in Pittsburgh, what's your relation to the city? No big deal with O'Bruadair I put him in the Category:Irish Roman Catholics and another user removed it. I decided to let it go rather than argue about a category. To change or reword a title, you just click move at the top of the screen and then select the new title. Mac Fhirbhisigh

Hmm, they like footnotes and inline references for everything in featured articles these days. I don't know it will do.

There are other people working on stuff would be interested in what you're up to. We have a new bod called User:Timelinefrog who seems quite keen on Irish history. User:Dsmdgold likes manuscripts and stuff - he should be just the person for working on the Mac Fhirbhisigh bloke - and User:Ealdgyth seems to be interested in medieval stuff in general. Anything Medieval you should leave a note at Wikipedia:WikiProject Middle Ages/New Articles. Might get some interest and can't hurt! You should list them at Wikipedia:WikiProject Ireland#New Wikipedia articles related to Ireland articles as well, otherwise they'll never find them! There's a Viking WikiProject, the name of which I can never remember, that would interested in anything to do with Vikings, however tenuous the link.

Mainly I've been avoiding working on Flann Sinna it seems. I did, however, do a bit of work on Cormac mac Cuilennáin, Niall Caille, Donnchad Midi and Domnall Midi. Main thing I'd like to do next is to expand Muirchertach Mac Ercae and Diarmait mac Cerbaill, but what I should do is work on the Ua Briain, Ua Conchobair and Mac Lochlainn. We'll see. Tethbae

I did an article on Tethbae and added some stuff on the Cenél Maini to it. The books I have for now more or less stop after Clontarf. Byrne says Tethbae (I think he means the north) became part of Bréifne, so I put that in. Looking at the maps in Duffy's atlas, he shows Tethba in the "Ireland before the Normans" map, ruled by the Ua Fergail, and later on there are O'Farrells not far away.
