Panraven
[edit]I'd like to appeal to you again to bring back the Panraven page. Since we last talked, we have gotten significant media coverage and are certainly an entity that web users should know about. [1] and [2] are similar companies who have wikipedia pages. Here are some examples of references:

tresham institute page - reverting of information
[edit]i think that i was adding useful information to this page as i am a student at the college and a member of the college's community. If i am going to be adding information about the college over the next few months, i dont want it to be deleted by someone else. i am all for constructive critisism but it is unfair just calling my edits vanalism!!!

TableBooking Speedy Deletion
[edit]Dear Fingall,
Thanks for your comments. I know what is wikipedia, and Im not adding commercial material, and I dont know what is your point of view about this matter, and dont tell me about "neutral" point of view, this is not true, you know that and everybody know that, if you cannot see it my friend, well I dont know what can I say. First of all, my article (which I wrote: HANGON tag, and if you read the history I asked many time for help to locate the article in the correct category. So nobody help me except a wikiuser who said that the article is no for speedy deletion. You are from the EEUU right? So my article is talking about an internet company and portal with social influence, like wiki, like myspace, etc...and is not ONLY for your country, is worldwide. And last of all, please read OpenTable and Toptable. I use the system in Dubai, and as a journalist I think that is important to have this here in the wikiworld. However, thanks a lot and let me know your comments, and if you can support me ok, if not, thanks anyway, I will do my best again.

Yes, it is a stub, but don't put it up for deletion, should you choose to do so, just yet. There's a lot more to be said of the two wars, and I would list it, but I am about to get off in the next few minutes and thus don't have the time. I do agree, however, it should retain the stub-mark until further notice. Artist Formerly Known As Whocares 23:03, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Happy belated birthday!!!
[edit]I hope you had fun! Sorry I won't be able to make it down today. Call me when you get a second. And in regards to recent edits from your fan club, be sure to read this essay on meta, even if said fan was rather mistaken about your orientation, it's the thought that counts. :) BTW, my excuse is my friend made me ride 100 miles on my bicycle yesterday. Oy! Katr67 18:30, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
Deletion continued
[edit]i would just like to say that you deleting my article is a blatent violation of my 1st amendment right to speech and press.
Guitarmaster12000 22:02 10 October 2007
- Oh give it a rest. The First Amendment says the government can't shut you up. Doesn't say anything about a service hosted by a company/organization on their own computers. Try insisting on your free speech rights on someone's blog and see how far you get.Jackytar 06:54, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Hey, Finngall! How's tricks? You two coming up to XIIth Night? Uilliam mac Ailene mhic Seamuis, aka Jackytar 06:53, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
What I been up to? Well, I'm posted ashore now, for the next couple of years - instructor's billet at the Fleet School, teaching electricians. I'm the Tir Righ Field & Town Crier Deputy, to Quentin Silver Yale (and he's bugging me to come up with a heraldic title; must work on that in my copious spare time). I'm the Chancellor of the Exchequer for Crickstow-on-Sea (the branch at the naval base here); I'm a lapsed Chirurgeon, and will go back on the active list as soon as I get a new first-aid course under my belt. Oh yeah, and I'm teaching at the next Ithra happening here. Long-term projects include a desire to build a gypsy wagon for camping in at events. On the Wiki front, I generally tend to just surf around, making edits from time to time and participating in talk pages. I tried hanging out at Conservapedia but it was just too much weirdness there, so I left. I do hang out on the An Tir Heralds' List still, so if you needed to get in touch with me, a shout there will be seen. I'm bringing my baldric with me to XIIth Night, and will probably work the Queen's Rapier Championship, since I won't have to take off early Sunday like I usually do. Uilliam aka Jackytar 00:34, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
BTW, I stumbled across vandalism in Bill of rights and reverted it to the last non-vandalised version. Realized afterwards that maybe I should have asked permission first. Also put a warning in the talk page for the IP address User talk:68.158.164.121. Could you have a quick look and let me know if I handled this correctly? Thanks. Jackytar 06:10, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
Insufficient context AND stub?
[edit]Hi there,
In reference to your edit here, is it really necessary for an article already tagged as a stub to also have a "context tag" at the top? Isn't a stub sort of, by definition, lacking in context? --Margareta 16:33, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! The case is certainly notable (it was in the national news), and mainly I wanted something that would take people to the case if they did a search on the name. At first I thought of just doing a redirect page, but decided against it, and there are other Wikipedia pages for plaintiffs in high-profile constitutional law cases. But no real prejudice about making it a redirect, either. We could see if anyone else worries about it.--Margareta 17:07, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Hey, any idea what happened here? Katr67 21:27, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
- So far so good, but there's three games to go, and one of the three Big 12 teams lurking in the 3-4-5 slots could still pass the Ducks for #2. The BCS always seems to find a way to screw the Pac-10 in general and the Ducks in particular--why would this year be any different? And I still keep my souvenir plastic megaphone from the Toilet Bowl around as a continual reminder to never get cocky. (Edit conflict: dunno what to make of that diff...) --Finngall talk 21:34, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the edits. I'm new to this, so I appreciate your patience. I just wanted assure you the information isn't copy/paste plagiarism. It's original research based primarily on 3 of the documents listed in my bibliography, for which I supply links to the full text online. I'll work on getting the language more original, eliminate some direct quotations, and clean up/properly format in text citations into the entry. Edward C. Kuhn was my great, great uncle and I've been working on this paper for quite awhile. I appreciate the opportunity to share it with others. Thanks for your help! Eugene Rugby
[edit]Hello, I am relatively new to wikipedia. I think we recently had some correspondence in regards to the Eugene Gentlemen Rugby Page. All of the information was deleted, and approval from the website was required. I have the approval, and was curious if all of the information could be put back onto the wikipedia page, or if I have to re-create it from scratch. Thank You. I noticed that you are from Eugene. we have home games on the 22nd of March, and the 19th of april. Feel free to come, and enjoy a couple good games. Exjex (talk) 17:49, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, I hope you don't mind if I butt in. I'm Finngall's sister, so I watch his page. You can have an administrator restore the article to your userspace where you can work on it. I'll ask one of the admins from WikiProject Oregon. As I recall, some of the tone of the article wasn't appropriate for an encyclopedia, so bear that in mind when rewriting. I'll have the admin contact you on your talk page. Cheers. Katr67 (talk) 19:21, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Sounds great...again I had not realized the proper channels I should have taken. The article will be re-written to be encyclopedia worthy. Although the Eugene team is fairly unknown we have a lot of history that some people might find interesting. I appreciate the help. Exjex (talk) 17:49, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Russell D. Longcore article, deleted 21 Mar 08
[edit]Dear Finngall:
I resent that my article was deleted. Specifically, I resent that I was only afforded less than two days to respond to your tag. I do not have time to go to the Wiki site every day to check on things. The article was a repost...true. But I added verifiable content and references, which were the reasons the former admins deleted the first article.
As to notability, insurance claims procedure is a hotly controversial subject. Insurance companies do not like to pay claims, and Mr. Longcore's insider content places the consumer at least on a level playing field with the insurance companies. The fact that there are very few books in print that deal with this subject makes it notable. The book that Longcore wrote is number one in its category at Amazon for the search term "insurance claims," and #42 out of over 260,000 available books for the broadest search term "insurance."
I'd like to appeal this decision to delete. I hereby request that the article be restored subject to review.

WVIK TV
[edit]So, ok, I think I have gotten the idea. Not only is WVIK TV a 10 minute long live broadcast, which is not a normal feature in most high schools, let alone ones with television, WVIK TV also competes in the National Student Television Network convention. We competed with more the 50 other schools, and took 1st place in the Show Opening completion. I’m not sure if that is notable, but I think so, and so does the country's only high school television network. someone I was talking to who also proposed to delete my article said that unless WVIK TV is published in Time Magazine or The New York Times, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, or the like, I CAN NOT post the page on Wikipedia. Now, I must say, I agree with the idea that my page needs to be cited, and notable, but I think that WVIK TV is notable enough to be posted along with such other pages as toothpicks and our Student Television Network affiliates page CHSTV or Scot Coogan which has no references. Please give me some advice, and be frank and straight forward. Thank you very much for you help.--Headtechie2006 (talk) 18:50, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
Response
[edit]I understand, but I just feel that Wikipedia has changed a lot in the past year about, and I feel that it is for the worse, but some will disagree. Wikipedia has become less of the place for people with legit groups, or articles, or what not to post them and get some attention and more of a online encyclopedia, in which people must not only have proper sources, but national notability, which i feel is not a good thing. I have no problem with correctly citing sources, but I do not agree with the fact that someone must need to draw attention from a lot of people to have an article posted. With that, admins want an article to draw attention from a national level. This cuts out all of the people who are famous among their state, or are in well known newspapers like the Philly inquirer or NY Times. It just disgusts me that Wikipedia is killing so many articles that, to many many many many people, mean a whole lot. I think that if you, along with the rest of the admins are going to delete the small articles about smaller issues and topics, than you all better take a much better look at most of the 10 million other posts on wikipedia, because i have a strong suspicion that a lot of them are not "notable". Its really sad to see wikipedia take this turn, and I think that people, being the world, should know that wikipedia is no longer the place you can go to post your informational, and at times, very educational, article. sure its "the free encyclopedia" and "anyone can edit" but it should also say "for only the big time, well known, or well published articles". That should be something that everyone needs to know, and should be on the homepage. --Headtechie2006 (talk) 22:53, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
I have removed the COI tag from the article, as the user was not making any POV assertions. You were correct in removing copyrighted material, however I have restored portions of it that are relevant to the biography with a rewrite. In the future, my suggestions is that would be more appropriate to add a {{welcome}} template and a personal note rather then starting with a {{uw-coi}}, since it tends to engender an edit war. Have a great day! MrPrada (talk) 05:54, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
