Young Presidents' Organization
Hi There, I noticed you have reviewed my additions to the Young Presidents' Organization page. I am a Masters Student currently studying organisations developing leadership, and I thought I would chip in with some of the material I uncovered about YPO. Can you give me any tips to assist me in making my contributions more appropriate? Obviously I am new to Wikipedia and it's taking some getting used to, but I would lie to contribute. Many Thanks, Arch303 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arch303 (talk • contribs) 01:51, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Arch303 and thanks for your question. Some of the issues with your changes were using unreliable sources, puffery, and including content that sought to increase the notability of individuals listed by linking them to successful organisations. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia so not everything written about a subject is relevant to include in an article. If you need any help after checking out the links I have included in this response please let me know. I will add some more links to your talk page that may help. Best wishes Flat Out let's discuss it 01:58, 18 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi Flat Out, thank you for getting involved in the page on Nightlight Christian Adoptions. If you are interested in moderating POV, you will be a true help on this page. As you can see, User GregJack wants complete control of the page and will not allow changes that make the POV more neutral. He insists on negative information only. I'm sure the wiki community will help improve this page as it draws more attention to the wiki-bullying going on. The point is that i already introduce the article in spanish an in simple english without problem but when i tried to put it in english the objected it for "notability". HELP ME PLEASE :)
KafkaontheShore — Preceding unsigned comment added by KafkaontheShore (talk • contribs) 12:08, 21 December 2013 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) To editor KafkaontheShore: The notability issue for academics is addressed at WP:ACADEMIC. Narodowski does not appear to have held an endowed chair or been particularly noted or awarded for his work. That's the case you need to make. The good news is, that article has only been proposed for deletion, rather than nominated for deletion. You can improve this article and a third party can remove that banner.
- The fact that you were able to add this content in other wikis has no bearing here. Eventually editors at the simple English- and Spanish-language wikis will likely nominate that content for deletion. Since you're inexperienced on Wikipedia, you might be better off building this article in your sandbox and getting help from WP:WikiProject Argentina rather that struggle saving the current article. Getting some information
Hi there as a fellow Aussie on Wikipedia I thought I would ask you a few questions if I could...
In terms of articles with references, if I see a comment / quote / statistic that references an external article and when I go to read that external article it doesn't mention the comment / quote / statistic that was mentioned on the wikipedia page is that grounds to have the comment removed?
If I wish to start editing how do I get a good list of articles to look at?
How many sources are generally required for something to be considered factual?
Thanks for your assistance I really appreciate it.
Best Regards
DanDanomitey (talk) 03:03, 22 December 2013 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) To editor Danomitey: I can field those questions for you! If ever there's a citation in an article and the cited source does not back up the text in the article, you may remove it. You could also use {{dubious}} to point out that the statement in the article needs checking. We don't want unverified information on Wikipedia within reason. Often you can verify any fact with just one good source. See our sourcing guideline about that.
- The best place to look where to start is one of our cleanup categories. There are myriad articles that are tagged with needing help with everything from copyediting to referencing to image use.
- Since you're new, you could try out the Wikipedia Adventure. It's good introduction to the buttonology of Wikipedia. Chris Troutman (talk) 05:48, 22 December 2013 (UTC)

Hello, I was wondering what improvements I could make to stop the deletion of the Adaadat records page i just wrote? i'm new to wikipedia.. thanks Bioruhaileskou (talk) 15:40, 23 December 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Bioruhaileskou to meet notability requirements, companies need to meet or exceed WP:CORP. Have a read and see if the company meets the guidelines. CheersFlat Out let's discuss it 15:49, 23 December 2013 (UTC)

Biography
Please go ahead and delete this article for me because the title is supposed to be "Gerald Spangrude" not "Spangrude". This is not written about myself, but rather about my father. Hi! Thank you for sending me all the links. And thank you for WARNING me against removal of sections. But these sections have absolutely no proof of reference that such an incident with a priest of Nichiren Shoshu ever occurred. Dr. Ikeda has always been the compassionate person and followed true principles of Buddhism. plan b reference removed from adaadat page
thanks for helping with the article, hhowever i'm struggling see how the plan b reference could be considered unreliable. plan b magazine was a well known internationally distributed music magazine - http://www.theguardian.com/music/musicblog/2009/jun/04/plan-b-magazine-remembered the author frances morgan is a well known music journalist and publisher of the magazine - http://uk.linkedin.com/pub/frances-morgan/23/214/50 and finally the last third of the article features an interview with adaadat founder angus keith talking about the label.
thanks Bioruhaileskou (talk) 10:06, 24 December 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Bioruhaileskou the reference http://www.adaadat.co.uk/romvelope/img/planb.gif can not be used to support a claim about reputation because it is self-published by adaadat. It isn't independent Flat Out let's discuss it 10:10, 24 December 2013 (UTC)
hi, i think i understand now, i should have used Cite journal instead of Cite web in the reference. by "self-published" are you referring to the fact that the scan of the article is hosted on the adaadat website? obviously the original version was published in the magazine.
Thanks Bioruhaileskou (talk) 11:14, 24 December 2013 (UTC)
I just redid the reference, i found an impartial third party source for the url and i changed the citation from web to journal. Is this ok now? thanks Bioruhaileskou (talk) 13:49, 25 December 2013 (UTC)
Hi Flat Out - this is actually a bit of an odd case. A lot of that page is from a deleted page Gabriel Oyibo, which has been re-created off-site here. I think that most of the rest of it is from http://gagutofappit.org/ itself, rather than from the forum (which copied it from there). Gotta duck out now - cycle to the shops before the Cricket finishes - but I'll come back and have a look at it. Pete aka --Flat Out let's discuss it 06:26, 26 December 2013 (UTC)

My edits remove the so-called optional /r/, because it is not identified as optional in any way. I suggest that /(r)/ would better flag its optional status, if it truly must be included.
Some may think it acceptable with common nouns to require the reader to understand that arhotic dialects are likely to omit the /r/ in such a location, but the same cannot be relied upon with proper nouns. Hence, if no variant is to be shown, omission of the /r/ is preferable (especially as the native pronunciation lacks the /r/). Ideally, the two variants should be shown - or a device (such as /(r)/, as above) be employed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.57.23.132 (talk) 09:38, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
