Changes to Synaptics Wikipedia Page
Hello.
Niyati here - I made updates to the Synaptics Wiki page and saw they were rejected for violation of the external links policy. I took a read of the External Links page and am having trouble understanding exactly what the violation is. Can you let me know please? I'd like to address to update the content on the page. It is quite outdated and not very comprehensive.
Thank you! Niyati

- I had several concerns about your edit to that article, mainly that you removed significant amounts of information without explaining why; you introduced unreferenced information, especially regarding the leadership section, most names being non-notable (i.e. don't have Wikipedia articles); and several links being introduced at the end without proper formatting, not to mention their relevance is questionable. Speedy tagging
This speedy deletion tagging was too speedy. I've messaged you about this in the past, but apparently to no avail. Please remember not to bite the newbies. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:02, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
- @WikiDan61: Do you believe Kirstin Mitchell passes GNG? Only source I could find is that she made an album cover. I do some research before tagging, you know. If the person's non-notable now what's the point of waiting 15 mins? I always strive not to bite newbies. Best, FoCuS contribs; talk to me! 18:32, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
- How much research could you have done if you tagged the article less than one minute after it was created? Do I believe her to be notable? Probably not. But it's possible that the author could have surprised you and me with sources that you are not aware of to demonstrate notability. But it's also possible that the author will not now bother, having been bitten. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 23:10, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
Please respond: Synaptics Wikipedia Page
Hello,
I saw you reverted my changes to the Synaptics page for violating the external links policy. I took a read through the policy and couldn't pin-point exactly what I should be changing. Can you please let me know so I can reinstate my editorial updates with the appropriate link structure? Your prompt response here would be much appreciated.

Keith
Including any mention of Keith Windschuttle in any account of an Indigenous Massacre is extremely biased. He is known as a denier of factual evidence, and is not a respected historian.
AS an Australian Historian it is reprehensible that he be cited as a source

Keith Windschuttle
I removed irrelevant information from the Cape Grim article that was clearly added by someone who does not wish to acknowledge the genocide committed on the Indigenous People of Australia. Keith Windschuttle is a denier, and perpetuating his lies is doing a disservice to your encyclopaedia. I am not vandalising, I am correcting misleading and incorrect information included in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.217.24.37 (talk) 13:28, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
- Stating it "is likely that if you believe Keith Windschuttle's account, you are sticking your head in the sand and happy to ignore factual history for the purpose of White Supremacy" is vandalism. Please desist or face a block. FoCuS contribs; talk to me! 13:38, 12 July 2016 (UTC)

Masaru Emoto's MD from degree mill
Why did you revert the my edit on the Masaru Emoto page regarding that the "Open International University For Alternative Medicines" is a degree mill? Thanks, Ed — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.145.121.248 (talk) 17:28, 12 July 2016 (UTC)

- Sorry to bother you further, but here we get into the problem of Russell's teapot. Please have a look at the sources "proving" that Masaru Emoto is in fact a MD and this "university" is an university. Are they reliable? If I make the statement that Mr. Emoto is a teapot orbiting the sun, please find a reliable source proving he isn't. Kind regards, Ed — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.139.247.27 (talk) 11:54, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
- There might be other issues with the rest of the references used in the article. That doesn't mean that we should allow the inclusion of more dubious information that is not properly attributed. See WP:IRS and amend the passage appropriately, or don't. Best, FoCuS contribs; talk to me! 12:47, 14 July 2016 (UTC)

About your way to handle reverts, warnings and protection requests
FoCuS, it's your own behaviour that is wrong and unconstructive. I have justified my edits and they certainly do not constitute vandalism. On the other hand, your reverts without any explanations (they only came when I started arguing) are questionable. As such, I have added a warning to your own user page, hoping it will draw the attention of some "authorities" to explain you again what's wrong with what you did and how you did dit. Cheers, 82.239.43.182 (talk) 16:34, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
- I have provided feedback for you on 3 different venues. Please do not pull my leg and learn to listen to advice given to you on Wikipedia. There's no use in going against people who are trying to make you see how things are done over here. You very well know that your behaviour wasn't constructive, in fact you even resorted to sneering at 2 editors who were trying to help you. Leaving ironic and disrespectful edit summaries does not constitute proper discussion. I am glad to see you've learnt your lesson and are now willing to familiarise yourself with the encyclopaedia's policies and guidelines. Cheers, FoCuS contribs; talk to me! 16:56, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
- The feedback came a wee bit late after some insistance, you still won't admit your own wrongs ... it seems that some lesson wasn't learnt somewhere (but don't worry: in my experience it can take some significant time for that kind of lesson to get through). Still, I would appreciate apologies and the removal of the warning. Sans rancune. Cheers, 82.239.43.182 (talk) 17:14, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
- The onus is on you to read up on Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I'm not your boss. It's likely Wikipedia's just not for you. FoCuS contribs; talk to me! 17:31, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
- This is not a question of policies and guidelines, but rather of psychology and education. Fortunately for you (and me) I'm not your boss either. You're clearly way better than me at enforcing [Rule #1]. Cheers, 78.225.149.66 (talk) 17:55, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
- I don't know what the hell you're on about. The rules are pretty simple: lists on Wikipedia are about articles that exist. You didn't follow it, hence the reversals by several editors. Stop your whinging and either move on or leave. FoCuS contribs; talk to me! 18:00, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
- My point is (again...): when you do such a reversal, please mention the reason in the summary. Without a reason stated the author of the change will have a hard time guessing the exact reason of the revert. Isn't that clear? Wasn't that clear? And, more importantly, will you do that from now on, that is, edit the summary and add a comment such as "revert: link to a non-existant page Wikipedia:Red_link"? By the way, did you read and understand the red link policy in question that does absolutely not give you a valid reason to remove my edits (in other words: you acted against what is actually written in the policy)? Cheers, 82.239.43.182 (talk) 19:10, 13 July 2016 (UTC)

Has the hallmarks of two of the Long Term Abuse IP's. Smacks of 'Best Known For' but they generally edit from South America, but have been known to geolocate to the UK to according to the LTA page. Yarra foundation
Hi there,
You just recently deleted the page that I created for a charity. I don't understand the main reason about your decision though you mentioned inappropriate citation. In fact, I cited the resources that are available about this charity which is their website, facebook page and their ABN number. The other thing that I wanted to make inquiry about is the information that I have provided about it. I have gradually edited the page and added more information to it but the draft is now empty and I don't have access to the information at all.
I Just request you to explain what sort of reference is acceptable with you and provide me the information that I have collected before.
regards, Sashakiba — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sashakiba (talk • contribs) 03:26, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
- Hello there! A few clarifications: I did not delete the article, I nominated it for deletion, after which an administrator fulfilled the task after agreeing with my rationale. It is not I that have to find your sources acceptable, but rather the encyclopaedia and its community, its guidelines and policies. Now, your particular subject does not meet our general notability guideline, nor does it meet our guideline for the notability of organisations. There is no independent nor reliable coverage about the charity. Until those conditions are met I'm afraid Wikipedia is not an appropriate venue for the subject; yes the foundation exists, but it is not notable per Wikipedia's standards. Thank you for your contributions and I hope you consider editing elsewhere on the encyclopaedia. Best, FoCuS contribs; talk to me! 16:09, 3 August 2016 (UTC)

the wikipedia entry of myriam diaz diocaretz
Hi FoCuSandLeArN, some three years ago you rejected the inclusion of Myriam Diaz Diocaretz in Wikipedia in English [see your comments] however, this writer, critic, poet and expert in new and emerging technologies has been in wikipedia in Spanish for several years, long before you deemed it not appropriate. Most importantly, this author has more books in English than in Spanish, with many entries in both languages. She is a European figure in the field of culture. As recorded in the World Catalogue: http://www.worldcat.org/identities/lccn-n84-129335/
She has published books in English, Spanish and one in French; she has founded three international book series, having published the works of guest editors and collected works in 37 volumes in English; she is the founder of the series (1989) and she still directs Critical Studies: http://www.brill.com/products/series/critical-studies The World Cat registers Works: 42 works in 197 publications in 3 languages and 7,068 library holdings; Genres: Criticism, interpretation, etc History Conference papers and proceedings, Literatures; Roles: Author, Editor, Other, Translator, Compiler;
She is an international literary figure in several ways, notable for her work on Adrienne Rich, especially Translating poetic discourse : questions on feminist strategies in Adrienne Rich by Myriam Díaz-Diocaretz( Book ), 15 editions published since 1985 in 3 languages and held by 327 WorldCat member libraries worldwide. See Goggle scholar. At European level she has become a key spokesperson on behalf of professional authors, contributing to initiatives established by WIPO and the European institutions, such as the Marrakesh Treaty on access to works for the visually and print-impaired, the Memorandum of Understanding on out-of-print works, and copyright in the digital age. To many, your rejection raised doubts about your arguments. It is the expectation of many who value her work that you would reconsider and be the one to drive the next step of having the wikipedia entry in English which gives more justice to her work than the one in Spanish. In any case, we are confident that Myriam Diaz Diocaretz will find the expert editor to believe in her inclusion. Many thousands among us have learned a lot from her work, and she has inspired us. - Hello there! Look, I cannot access the draft given it appears to have been deleted. If I didn't accept it upon my first review three years ago, then it evidently didn't meet standards at the time, probably due to a problem in corroborating facts though appropriate referencing, which is a most common problem. We have a set of criteria at AfC that we need to follow; we try not to be subjective in our reviewing, even though that isn't 100% possible. I can't see what my arguments were, so in my defence I'm afraid I can't be of much use. The article on the Spanish Wikipedia seems to have been created around the same time, and was edited by someone close to the subject, so I'm unsure what your comment that she "has been in wikipedia in Spanish for several years, long before you deemed it not appropriate" is implying - I am not an "expert editor", there is no such thing on the encyclopaedia; I merely check if submissions meet the crtieria and either accept or decline them; if you do not agree with or criteria you can voice your concerns at the AfC WikiProject talk page. We cannot move articles into mainspace that do not include adequate sourcing, etc. I had a look at her background, and she possibly passes WP:PROF and WP:NAUTHOR. If you could submit another draft for review I'd be happy to look at it, as I'm sure other reviewers would as well. Make sure you provide references for your information. Another option would be pasting the Spanish article and have it tagged for translation. Finally, please be aware Wikipedia is not a means for promotion, or to "make justice" to anyone. This is particularly relevant given you seem to have a personal connection to the subject; this constitutes COI and is a very fine line to tred. Rolia Whitinger and questions regarding links
HI.
This is an article regarding my father, Rolia Whitinger a decorated soldier of World War II. I will attempt to answer your questions as objectively as I possibly can. As it is a personal subject and something that I have had to conduct extensive research on my own - I ask that you please understand the links.
Alistair Cook's body had his body dis-articulated without the family's consent and pvc pipes were placed as replacement of bones that were sold on the black market. He died from bone cancer that spread to other parts of his body and the recipients (patients) received these contaminated parts unknowingly and were then later subject to recall.
This covers how the human body has become a commodity on the market without consideration to the recipients or the persons and their families regarding donations.
The lawsuits involved with Rolia Whitinger's case became insensitive to the victim's families. It was argued that the bodies were dead so they felt nothing. There was argument that the bodies were not property of the university and persons involved in the criminal action did not conduct business in Texas amongst other remarks by defense attorneys. The university publicy sated to the media that they were fully cooperative with authorities conducting the investigation (FBI) yet had to be ordered by the Texas Attorney General to release information to the media and to the attorneys in the lawsuit.
It was also debated in the lawsuits that persons that donated were no longer citizens and were not protected by laws and the assumption that my father was not even a U.S. citizen.
I know some of this is from a personal perspective but the pleadings in this court case were callous and I have felt the need to let the public know about how donation to science becomes only a monetary means for the school perspective and it is not dignified and is not monitored by the campus.
I hope this sheds some light on why these links are referred to in this article.
If you have ideas to make it better I am certainly open such suggestions.

- I have no clue what you're talking about. I reversed your edits made to the article's gallery because they broke the wiki markup and therefore needed to be fixed. Now that you mention it, however, due to the fact you're the subject's blood relative it is strongly recommended you do not edit the article. Please request edits be made to it instead. Please Advice
Hi I do not have much time in wikipedia and you gave me the welcome in my talk page when I started to write in English. Thank you. I read someone's name on a wikipedia page, someone I thought it would be easy, and decided to create a user and start an article. Took me weeks but I think I made many mistakes, because when I "save page", immediately, was "Speedy deletion nomination" did not give me time to fix several bugs that had already identified. I tried to explain. Then I thought, in the biographic person?, I was in panic. I turned off the computer and the internert. I saw the other day, was deleted but with possible rewritten recommendation. I wrote in the "talk page" of person who had erased, with my ideas for the article rewriting. I made the article much more smaller (smaller: fewer mistakes). The article was reviewed and was ok. I rested had corrected my mistake!! few hours after.. box "This article may have been previously nominated for deletion.....You may remove this message if you improve the article " I put: where subject teaches and more references, and more references in the talk pag of the article. Them I delete the box. I did wrong? probably yes, because immediately the same user propose article is being considered for deletion. I think maybe wikipedia is not for me but I do not want to leave things wrong. Biographer1950 (talk) 22:43, 20 August 2016 (UTC)

- I didn't throw any stones, you are simply unaware of Wikipedia's notability guidelines, namely WP:PROF and WP:GNG (the subject of the article clearly doesn't meet either); this is perfectly fine, you didn't violate any rules - the article will likely be deleted. What you shouldn't do is remove deletion tags placed on an article you yourself created or engage in sock puppetry or futile discussion given your obvious conflict of interest. I'm sorry this works to your disadvantage, but Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia after all. Thank you, FoCuS contribs; talk to me! 00:46, 21 August 2016 (UTC)
