Spelling in articles
[edit]You are probably aware that some words are spelled differently in the US compared to the UK. The custom on Wikipedia is to spell according to the country most closely associated with the article. If the article is not about any particular country, the spelling follows whatever pattern the first editor used. In the case of International system of units, the article consistently uses UK spelling, so I reverted your spelling of centimeter back to centimetre --Gerry Ashton 16:58, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit]I don't know why it's such a big deal that he be referred to as 'gay' and not 'homosexual', but...
from the homosexuality article: The adjective homosexual can be used to describe individuals' sexual orientation, sexual history, or self-identification. Many people reject all usage of "homosexual" as too clinical and dehumanizing, as the word only refers to one's sexual behavior, and does not refer to non-sexual romantic feelings. As a result, the terms gay and lesbian are usually preferred when discussing a person of this sexual orientation, whose sexual history is predominated by this behavior, or who identifies as such. --DrBat 21:23, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
Romanizations
[edit][1] On Wikipedia we use "Ryuzaki" as that is how the VIZ graphic novels romanize it. WhisperToMe (talk) 03:47, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
