Better source request for some of your uploads
Thanks for your uploads to Wikipedia. There is an issue with some of them, specifically:
You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the images because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the images, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image files themselves. Please update the image descriptions with URLs that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 21:18, 8 May 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for May 11
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Komen Brinker Award for Scientific Distinction, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bernard Fisher (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

High res photo of José Craveirinha
Hi Bobonobo
I am looking for a high res photo of José Craveirinha and a permission to use it in one of my textbooks.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

- Hi Kgao. I do not own any photographs of José Craveirinha and cannot give you permission. The image that we are using on Wikipedia is being used under a claim of fair use. If you are able to find a free photograph of him, please let me know. Thanks, Gobōnobō + c 16:41, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (File:Institute for Policy Studies logo.png)
Thanks for uploading File:Institute for Policy Studies logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:09, 14 May 2013 (UTC)

moving edited article from sandbox to article
Hi Gobonobo - I am meeting with the students at 6pm. One question so far: we have a clear process for how to move a new article out of the sandbox. We do not have as great of a system for moving a heavily edited article, such as Melholle's draft of an article. You'll see she has the original article and her edits. She plans to move the edited version. She still has more she will be editing (as do most in the class) between now and Friday. I want to take your suggestion that they move the articles tonight, to give a couple of days for comments to come in from other editors. Is it acceptable to simply replace the old article whole cloth? Or, section by section? I know this is not a preferred method, but many of the articles have no one working on them actively at present. Mil gracias, Prof.Vandegrift (talk) 21:28, 15 May 2013 (UTC)
- It is acceptable to replace the old article. For these, you'll basically want to cut and paste. Have edit windows open for both the sandbox and the article. Go to the sandbox page, 'select all' and copy, then paste into the open edit window for the article you'll be moving to over the previous text. Be sure not to paste in the course assignment or {{User sandbox}} banners. This could also be done section by section (whichever is easier). Sometimes categories get lost at this point, so checking that the same categories are in the article is a good step. I'm assuming here that students have copied a previous version of the entire article to their sandboxes. If that's the case, another thing to check is whether there have been changes to the live article since that previous version. Otherwise other editors' changes may get lost in the mix.
- There is a chance that edits may be rejected or worked on by other editors once these go live, but I view that as an important part of contributing to Wikipedia. Students should be able to continue making changes on the live article through Friday. I'll be watching articles and helping with formatting and style issues as we go. If anyone has any problems, let me know. Gobōnobō + c 21:56, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

citation errors
Gobonobo, For some reason I am having some citation errors (specifically looking at numbers 3-4-6- and 10). Could you take a look at them for me? this is the link to my sandbox: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Melholle/sandbox#History
Thanks, Melholle Melholle (talk) 00:06, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
- I also put this live for you to look at here. Thanks!Melholle (talk) 00:13, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
- That sometimes happens with named references. I've reconstructed them from your sandbox history. I've yet to read through your article, but it looks good. If you happen to find an image to use (even just a map of the Dominican Republic), that would be great! Gobōnobō + c 00:21, 16 May 2013 (UTC)

Help with Alex Castellanos' article
Hi Gobonobo, hope you don't mind my reaching out to you, but I saw your name on the participants list at WikiProject Biography: Politics and government, figured you might be interested in articles on individuals involved in politics and was wondering if you would be willing to review a draft I've written for Alex Castellanos. Although he's not a politician, he has worked as a consultant to many political candidates. I've written this draft on behalf of Purple Strategies—Castellanos' communications firm—and due to this conflict of interest I'm looking for other editors to review and this draft for me, rather than being bold and moving it into the live article myself. I've explained the draft and issues with the current article on the article's talk page and my draft is in my user space here: User:16912_Rhiannon/Alex_Castellanos Please take a look if you are interested and let me know if you have any questions. Redirect alteration
In this edit you changed the section redirected to from "male genitals" to "male genital mutilation". While I'd concur that your choice of title is more appropriate, there is not currently a section that has this title, so male genitals is the closest section that exists at the moment. Due to that, going to change it back for now. If it ever does get retitled (good luck with that) I'd fully support your change though. Ranze (talk) 19:42, 24 May 2013 (UTC)

Hello Gobonobo,

However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:49, 23 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi,
I was able to find out that you were the person who possibly added the photo of Freddy to the article on her. Unfortunately it seems that the portrait is only available for use in the English Wikipedia.
As a person who knew her during the last decade of her life and was in a lively interaction and correspondence and phone contact (when the loss of her eyesight no longer allowed e-mail contact) with her during the last six years or so of her life, I would appreciate if you could upload the image to Wikipedia Commons, so that it could be used in W-pedia in other languages as well, such as my own language, which happens to be Finnish. - Hyvää päivää Apanuggpak. I did upload that photo of Frederica de Laguna. Unfortunately, the photo is under copyright and is ineligible for inclusion on Wikimedia Commons. I am interested in finding an image of de Laguna that could be added to Commons though. Bryn Mawr may be willing to release one of their photos. I can contact them and see if they would be willing to release an image. The next best source of photos might be her relatives and friends. Perhaps you know someone who has a photo that they would be willing to release under a free license. Gobōnobō + c 03:46, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
