How come my contributions to the Meles Zenawi article is deleted all the time, when the fact is that the article is heavily sided with him? Is it possible that you may have made a mistake in suggesting that I had edited this article. I have certainly never edited the article or even (to my shame) heard of the article's subject. I laughed when you called me a wiki lawyer, when you are the one citing legal precedence over policy, and here is the precedence you are claiming, from the wikipedia page you referred me to: "However, the new work must be different from the original in order for a new copyright to apply, as the court ruled in Bridgeman Art Library v. Corel Corporation. from "derivative work.

Please change back the Copyright tag as it is not the original tag and you have subscribed to the picture as it being a cover. If you can find the cover of the book itself maybe you can argue your case better. Otherwise I will have to do it since you are biasing the assessment. You must make up your mind whether it is a book cover or a derative work and when it comes down to it, after reading the above cited quote, all that really has to be done is take another picture that clearly is a little more creative. I went back and altered the page again with comments and hope you will return the copyright tag back. You are really shamefully violating the assume good faith policy by accussing me of "bending the book" to purposely get around the copyright. The cover represents a worn book after many years of reading, not a new book that was damaged to get around the policies of an online encyclopedia. A book is an artefact- it has a life and purpose and is similiar to an antique object. Thus you are entitled to your opinion about its artistic merits, but let me assure you, they are only yours and not privliged. --Mikerussell 20:35, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

I have been editing the "Warsangeli", which you are familiar with. I even sent an e-mail to the arbitration committee to set up a talk page because I had suspected of other people doing harm to the topic. But now, i am in the dillema that it is either the administration that are editing the topic or someone else. You asked me whether I should provide references. In fact, I do provide references and even notable member of that nation is listed with reputable sources. What is your objection? 130.191.104.63, I disagree with your remark about vandalising the whole topic. You do vandalise it, take a look at your version and Gyrofrog's version.

Gyrofrog's version has a request for a source at the end of the second sentence. That is followed by a section on the clan structure with a link to lineage charts. After the notable people section there are the categories.

Your version, removes the categories, the whole clan section and the request for the source at the end of the second sentence all of which is vandalism. Linking to the Sultanate of Mohamoud Ali Shire is not acceptable as a source. This second sentence is then followed by a some comments that violate Wikipedia:Neutral point of view. Things such as "The citizens of Warsangeli state are well-known throughout Somalia's history, of being peace loving and politically independent citizens. To know more about the historical superiority of Warsangeli clan and its beautiful country, ..." While those claims may be true they are a particular POV and unsourced. TO include them you would need to provide a source that says that.

The bit about Cruttenden could be included under a new section called "further reading".

As to "Also, can we protect the contest of this topic as it is now particularly my contribution?" I think you should read Wikipedia:Ownership of articles.

I'm replying here because you have a different IP address from when you left your previous message, and I'm not sure which of your talk pages I should use for a response. It was helpful of you to provide sources, but I have to ask, what compels you to contrast the positive attributes of one clan against the negative attributes of others? Even though you cited sources, the information as you've presented it fails to maintain a neutral point-of-view. Temesgen

Hi, I can't find any discussion for the deletion of the Temesgen article. I think the individual who made the Temesgen website also made the Wikipedia page, so that would be an example of someone "violating" his own copyright. Thank you, Badagnani 00:00, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

You should have taken the time to look through all the pages. This individual has contributed a number of photos and information about the Ethiopian lyres begena and krar over the past year or so, and in fact one of the photos says something like "me playing the krar," and the photo of Temesgen on the Temesgen official site is the same person. OK--please note that I do object to the POV language in the article ("this article's wonderful music is full of beautiful sounds"--that type of thing)...we often have this problem in articles on Carnatic music; when this is pointed out the writers often object quite vocally, believing nothing to be wrong with such writing if they believe the artist to be of high quality. It may be a cultural difference. In any case, I do agree with you that every editor, regardless of national origin, should adhere to WP guidelines regarding NPOV as well as copyvio. That's why I am using Wiki to inform whoever is interested about my virtual existance. That the person who committed the copyvio claims to be the creator of the original page isn't enough; he needs to provide evidence of that, and of the copyright status of the material -- preferably in the form of a clear notice on the original Web page that the material is copyright-free in line with Wikipedia's policie on copyright.

Incidentally, please remember to mark your edits as minor when (and only when) they genuinely are minor edits (see Wikipedia:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one (and vice versa) is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting and minor rearranging of text should be flagged as a 'minor edit'. John H Faulk

I'm mistaken. By way of excuse, I was working on a series of Paul Robeson Award winners, all of whom were African Americans, and when I saw he'd won the award and that he'd written a series of sermons on the plight of the Negro, I jumped to conclusions when placing categories. Sorry. I'm sure it was perplexing.

I checked the 1920 census using my www.ancestry.com genealogy membership and found the following:

John's parents Henry J and Martha C Faulk and family appear in the 1920 Federal Census for Texas in a part of Justice Precinct 6, Travis County. Their address is 917 Live Oak Street. John's father, a lawyer with his own office, was born abt 1869 (age 51) in Alabama, to parents born in Alabama. John's mother was born abt 1871 (age 41) in Texas, to a father born in Texas and mother born in Louisiana. The list of siblings includes Hamilton (14 M), Martha (11 F), Mary E (9 F), John H (6 M), and Texana (4 7/12 F), all born in Texas. The entire family is listed as white.

Leelkase section

Hi, "Gyrofrog", it's a pleasure to have you involved in the Leelkase, Gaalkacyo article's, where i've also been contributing for years. Recently i've noticed that alot of people have been erasing or completely changing the facts without any reason. For example Leelkase is one of the Major tribe's of Somalia, and itself a subclan of the Major Darod tribe, and in the Leelkase section i've noticed that the "prominent figure's list" had entirely disappared, safe for jus the name's of two persons. This has not happened to other Somali tribe's such as Majerteen, Isaaq, Warsangeli, and the Marehan, but only our Leelkase article was targetted and completely erased. Please help me understand this. This is what i've been really mad about for the past few weeks, and i'm not a bad person, i'm just trying to do things fairly and accurately. And Mel Etitis has been also working double time on the Leelkase and Gaalkacyo article's, but unfortunately without fairness. That is why i thought she was of a Somali tribe who had animosity towards us, because i could not justify in my head why all those other somali tribe's list was untouched, but ours kept dissappearing. I tried my best to correct and rewrite all the facts that were on that list even two years ago. But someone keeps completely erasing them. Please help.

Also i'm very impressed with your descision on the much contested issue's on the Gaalkacyo article, brilliant! Also about Gaalkacyo, it is historically and currently divided into three quarters, settled by the Leelkase, Sacad and the Majerteen, and also several other Somali tribe's who are recent commers and who do not make up a major settlement of the city. The only other tribe who come's fourth in Gaalkacyo is the Madhibaan who settle parts of each quarter.

User:Hagos and Oromo liberation front

Hagos's edits have been nothing but disruptive as you well know and needs to be blocked. He moved Oromo Liberation Front to Tigrayan liberation front, then moved Oromo liberation front (the article's current location) to the same place. I was able to revert the second move, but I can't move the uncapitalized Oromo liberation front to the correct Oromo Liberation Front as I'm not a moderator. Do you think you could make the move and block him for me? I've already warned at least one of his sockpuppets, and others have warned him as well. whether or not it's a recipe

I'm afraid I have to take issue with your removal of my recent entries. Is it a recipe, really, if it's the explanation of what the spice blend contains?

Most cooking recipes that include "ras al hanout", for example, merely indicate that it's a moroccan spice blend, not what it's a blend of.

As a chef, I'm pretty well versed as to what things should taste like. For an amateur, however, its not always possible to have every single component of a spice mix on hand, but if one had most of them, and had a chance to approximate the flavor by using most of the components of the mix, in appropriate proportions.

Finally, the thing that prompted me to post the ras al hanout "recipe" was that it was totally and completely different than Wolfert's. Also, most of the ingredients are more accessible than Wolfert's. (How many people have even heard of orrisroot, much less know where to obtain it?)

So, i'm really questioning whether, for example, someone who lists the components of Papier-mâché paste in proportions isn't also posting a 'recipe', then? MisChef 19:52, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

I was wondering, if you had a moment to spare, if you would be willing to give your opinion on a matter at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2007 June 15 concerning a category I created. The category is [[Category:Jazz musicians of New Orleans]], and it has been proposed that the article be merged with Musicians of New Orleans and American jazz musicians. This is precisely why I created the category, because it seemed to me the birthplace of jazz music and continous modern symbol of jazz certainly deserves a category unto itself. It is sad that Mr. "Gyrofrog" has become obsessed with us and has nothing better to do than attack everything we write. We are not the same as Johnjohn or anyone else, but if it makes you happy to think we are, good luck! With all due respect to Mr.gyrofrog, it is more than obvious your knowledge about the Persian/Kurdish Tanbur and other subjuects you write is next to 0. Anyone who knows anything about the Tanbur would laugh if they read the incorrect information you wrote. About self promotion, how can a non for profit website built to help educate others and keep a dying instrument alive be self promoting. New categories for jazz musicians

Most of the genre categories contain sub-genres in their drop-down menus, so be sure to open them up! I am sending this to everyone to speed up the population of these categories. Wiki-Stalker?

Gyrofrog, there are only three people who really know how to play the Kurdish Tanbur correctly in the United States. It is a dying instrument and you are certainly doing everything in your power to destroy its history and culture. What a shame and truly a type of crime against humanity. Instead of trying to preserve history, you are deleting the correct information and writing incorrect information about something you not nothing of. I am not johnjohn, but even if I was, WHO CARES? I just looked at his page and he has not written anything that is obscene or crazy. TanburSociety.com does not have any links to other website, galleries or for profit sites. So what is your big obsession with me and why do you have to attack almost everything that I write? The box had all these big gray areas saying "no image found" and most of the variables were "empty," added to the fact that the image of the instrument was very tiny, so I just turned it into a larger photo. It has just one string, which could be tuned as low as the G below middle C (the violin's lowest note), or a little lower like F-sharp or possibly F), and smaller instruments and modern players sometimes tune higher, like the D above middle C. By special bowing techniques (sort of like harmonics) they can get two octaves' range without switching left hand position. Badagnani 05:25, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

I just looked at the history of "gyrofrog" and 69.201 and I 100% agree that Gyrofrog is attacking this person and others for no reason.
