List of Web Analytics Talk page
You removed a legitimate comment of mine and just wrote "pointless reformatting"! Please check over what you did, if you think the formatting is pointless you may revert it, but why did you remove my comment!! (see the full diff of your change!) -Shmuls (talk) 12:35, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
- To clarify, my comment was titled "Online Demo Links", you can see it in the history. Please explain why you removed this comment or if it was accidental. -Shmuls (talk) 12:40, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
- In future, avoid adding content and reformatting at the same time. They are separate actions, treat them that way. --Hm2k (talk) 13:55, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
The article Burnatonce has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- not clear how this product is notable
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. RadioFan (talk) 12:10, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

Statement, shell account
LOL. While I don't agree with ya 100% I guess you see what was really going on now. If you've not seen it already, the table should make things even more clear. Btw, do you think we should consider listing the Talk:Shell account bit on WP:LAME? ;)
--Tothwolf (talk) 10:31, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
- While you can't expect us to always agree, I relate to the ethic of a long serving IRCer. Go for it. It sure was entertaining at the time. :) --Hm2k (talk) 10:38, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah...that it was. The whole "discussion" on Talk:Shell account most likely would have gone very differently had I not already been stressed over the wikistalking that was already taking place. I think we've lost around 35-40 articles at present due to this mess right now (estimating from the WP1.0 stats and stub counts), although they aren't permanently gone of course. Once things finally settle down I'll sort out the WikiProject's index and todo pages so we'll have a better overview of what has happened. --Tothwolf (talk) 10:52, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
- I can see that. It's a shame that these articles are being removed for the wrong reasons. I am starting with a deletion review for psyBNC. I will keep you posted. --Hm2k (talk) 10:56, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
- Indeed. I can only improve articles so fast too, the last two I think being Konversation and Snak. Of course then there is the silly tagging of articles like Irssi [1] and similar. Previously I had been focused more on the "core" articles and dealt with the smaller client etc articles only as needed since it made more sense to focus on cleaning up and improving the main articles first. --Tothwolf (talk) 11:21, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

Howdy. You reverted my section title change on List of web analytics software. It seems that it is less appropriate given that the section includes at least one item that is distributed as obfuscated source (Sawmill). How is "Proprietary" more accurate than the the alternative I proposed? Would you recommend adding a fourth section with just the one item, or perhaps renaming the first section to "Non-proprietary" so that the distinction is clear? ◉ ghoti 17:14, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
- Closed-source software redirects to Proprietary software. Sawmill's license appears to be "Sawmill End User License", which is a "Proprietary license", not an Open source license. --Hm2k (talk) 17:28, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
WA list cleanup and Woopra page
Nice cleanup job on the Web Analytics list page!! FYI, Woopra used to have a page until three weeks ago, I had even contributed there a few times myself. It was deleted due to lack of notoriety. I'd be happy rebuilding it but I'd rather not create a deleted page as I don't want to look like a spammer. If you were to create it I would more than happy to help. Shmuls (talk) 09:07, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
- I'll see if I can get it restored to my user area, I will notify you for assistance once it's there. Thanks. --Hm2k (talk) 10:19, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Deletion of valid hosted analytics platforms
Can you please explain the logic behind only listing 6 hosted analytics platforms when there are over 50 available?
In my opinion if there is a list of these services it should contain all services available or none of them, you should not remove entries based some logic.
You have even excluded many very large hosted companies such as Onestat and Opentracker and ATInternet's NX platform all with a larger customer base than Woopra which you have allowed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.38.68.229 (talk) 13:40, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- See WP:N and Talk:List_of_web_analytics_software#Woopra --Hm2k (talk) 15:13, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- I believe my point still stands, if the list is only comprised of software and providers deemed as 'notable' then it is incomplete and inaccurate. I understand the point of notability for separate pages and that many of these providers do not merit a separate page but it is not the software/provider in question here. Clearly it has been decided that a list of analytics software merits a page and therefore for that information to be correct it should list ALL software available otherwise the list is not correct and therefore the information on Wikipedia is not correct. I look forward to your thoughts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.38.68.229 (talk) 09:45, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- Make any point you like, you're in violation of Wikipedia's polcies, thus it was removed. If it's a problem use the article talk page, you'll have much more luck there and input from other editors. --Hm2k (talk) 10:11, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
