Image reupload

[edit]

Please do not upload higher quality images as you did at File:Star Wars The Bad Batch logo-2.png when the file comes under WP:Non-free content. This is because WP:IMAGERES requires that the non-free image is not over 100,000 pixels. Also removing the background colour in this case also made the image harder to read. I hope thisn explains why I reverted your change to this file in particular. Terasail[✉️] 20:53, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

November 2023

Your recent editing history at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (2023 video game) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. -- ferret (talk) 19:58, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

MW III image

[edit]

What do you mean "previous version does not meet non-free media criteria."? IAmNMFlores (talk) 21:50, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:IMAGERES for information on what meets the non-free media criterea. And please do NOT change the image used for the MWIII cover art, as it already meets said criteria. IDKFA-93 (talk) 21:53, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's it? A bot always resizes the image to match the dimensions. If you want me to manually resize I can do that too. Also, I like to maintain consistency, you see how the image for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022 video game) and other video game articles have that kind of length/width ratio? That's the ratio of the image I chose. IAmNMFlores (talk) 22:11, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reverse

[edit]

Hi, why did you reverse my editing to Counter-Strike 2? Was it because of bad English usage? Regards, Karol739 (talk) 21:19, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As I've already outlined in my edit summary, the source that you used when you made your edit (Dexerto) is an unreliable source. Additions of content to Wikipedia articles require reliable sources; a comprehensive list of reliable sources for gaming-centric articles is available to read at the Project Video games page. IDKFA-93 (talk) 21:30, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, thanks for the quick answer. It seems like I'm quite familiar to this rule on pl.wiki., but the funniest thing is I couldn't find anything better while researching this topic (or at least source emphasizing this information). Should I then use just the official map chart/list for CS 2 to write this information on the article?

Regarding the recent BOCW edit

[edit]

Don't wanna start a potential edit war over this so I'm gonna discuss it here.

Re: sub-header, I believe having a Zombies subheader under the gameplay section is unnecessary, because there is no reason to distinguish it from the rest of the game. So we either have individual subheaders for Campaign and MP as well, or we don't have any at all. I prefer the latter, because we don't need to have two subheaders each for Gameplay and Plot sections.

Re: MP story addition, the cinematic ties in with Vanguard, but it is presented as an epilogue to the CW seasonal story, and it is viewable in CW only, not Vanguard. Therefore, I believe this part belongs in the CW plot summary, and should be appropriately mentioned.

I'm open to some other ideas on how we can work this better, but for now this is my stance on these points. The boss 1904 (talk) 18:14, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

• Regarding the Zombies sub-header, while I also tend to prefer not having sub-headers in the Gameplay section, I had to include one to accommodate the size of the Zombies-specific content in the Gameplay section, as it's much larger than the paragraphs for Campaign and MP.
• And regarding the Vanguard tie-in cinematic, I initially chose to exclude it because I was (and still kinda am) unsure if its 100% canon to BOCW's post-launch story (the complete version of the BOCW post-launch story does not include the Vanguard tie-in cinematic). However, as you've pointed out, the cinematic is still viewable in BOCW (in fact, it is the only MP-related story cinematic that can be directly viewed in-game), and generally speaking, story content that is accessible in the game is, in most cases, considered canon. Because of this, I've restored the plot details for the final MP cinematic in my latest edit to the article.
I hope that this response (and my latest revision to the BOCW article) addresses your concerns; if you have any other questions, concerns, or suggestions as to how we can improve the article further, feel free to reach out to me again. IDKFA-93 (talk) 21:19, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
