Thanks for trying to help with the article. Inurhead usually has good information about it, but he's definitely got a case of WP:OWN. Look at his edit history - it's all for the movie. I suspect he's involved with the film in some way. Anyway, I've gone ahead and reported it to the 3RR noticeboard. Probably ought to have gone to WQA, given the somewhat wild accusations, but figured to start with the reverts. Ravensfire2002 (talk) 03:29, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
Talkpage rollbacks
[edit]At Talk:The Hurt Locker, instead of rolling back the user's message you should respond to it. This user is clearly a POV-pusher and a poor editor, but that doesn't give you the right to roll back talkpage edits; see Talk page guidelines. If someone tries to start a discussion, as poorly as they word their message, that's an opportunity for you to engage in discussion. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 03:58, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
- Also, you should not be issuing "vandalism" warnings for content disputes and edit warring, as you did here. The correct warning for people close to breaking 3RR is {{subst:uw-3rr}}. I suggest you read What vandalism is not before continuing to issue inappropriate vandalism warnings. Your inappropriate warnings to this user resulted in my discarding the WP:AN3 report that was filed. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 04:07, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
- I also just noticed your incorrect AIV reports [1] and [2]. Again, read WP:Vandalism before continuing to use huggle and make vandalism reports; if you continue issuing bad warnings and making bad reports, you will risk having your Huggle privileges removed. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 11:45, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Your IP-hopping friend
[edit]Looking at it more closely, I may be able to stop your "friend" with a few small rangeblocks. I've added your page to my watchlist, and if he returns after your protection expires, I will try it and see if it works. J.delanoygabsadds 17:51, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
- I think a rangeblock should be imposed on the 70.245.*.* range and other ranges since it looks like it won't end. Momo san Gespräch 15:28, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
- I've added a couple of rangeblocks. J.delanoygabsadds 15:40, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
- Just so you know, having a "vandal count" userbox can encourage vandalism. Also, rangeblocks are not infallible. It is entirely possible that your friend will be able to vandalize you many, many times despite my blocks. The best way to deal with vandals is to just revert and ignore them. Don't talk to them, don't respond to them, no matter what. J.delanoygabsadds 15:54, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
- WP:RBI is a good read. Momo san Gespräch 15:56, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

I would like to know why do you claim I vandalize?
[edit]I am a new Wikipedian and would like to know what do you mean. I see it very disturbing when you eraze my contribution without explanation and try to scare me with warnings. If you want to be right and feed your ego this is another issue but if you want to contribute to civilized behaviour it is another. I hope the second option is the truth. I wait for your detailed explanation as how I can change my contribution to " Jonathan Cook" in a way that can be acceptable and doesn't violate any Wikipedia rules. You must also understand that many people are NOT a native English speakers and it takes time to learn all the rules. If you are too busy to help please refer me to another experienced Wikipedian who can help me or arbitor.

Dear Impala 2009., I took some time to read what constitutes vandalism according to wikipedia definition.
Sorry but according to what I understood there is nothing in my contribution to "Jonathan Cook" that even smells "vandalism" I would much appriciate if you point to the specific paragraph in the Wikipedia definition. It means a lot to me. I always looking to learn from somebody with authority.
Thanks for your kindly reply.

[edit]I have been assuming good faith. He's been SHOUTING at me on the Talk pages of two different articles and in his edit summaries and I've repeatedly asked him to stop. So please, don't leave a template on my Talk page when you don't know the situation. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 00:03, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- I've asked him politely on both article Talk pages, and he's ignored me. I thought a more direct message on his User Talk page might get his attention. — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 00:10, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Revert cycle with IP
[edit]Just so you know, the image you keep reverted back to a couple times on Battle of Jenipapo says in its own metadata:
- This file has been superseded by File:Flag United Kingdom Portugal Brazil Algarves.svg.
- It is recommended that the other file be used.
- (bold in the original, see at Commons)
In the form of the template {{Superseded|Flag United Kingdom Portugal Brazil Algarves.svg}}
I am reverting again, and I think an apology to the IP would be appropriate, given that he/she noted this in the edit summary.
- Thanks for your time and consideration, Peace and Passion ("I'm listening....") 23:50, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- PS As proof that that IP isn't completely off base, see his contribs.
User talk:98.155.45.162
[edit]Just so you know, I have removed your Level 3 vandalism template from the user talk of 98.155.45.162. The template was added for this "vandalism," where, ironically, the IP is actually thanking Ronhjones for personally explaining why his edit was inappropriate. This is why templates are dangerous! I replaced it with this note:
- Note: Level three vandalism template removed — for this edit, which obviously wasn't vandalism, it was a "thank you" to the Ronhjones {{talkback}} above.
HAHA, awesome chess-board scripted on your page, good, original idea, thumbs-up :P ....

[edit]Why are you editing in the middle of my edits? I'm trying to fix a problem and it doesn't help that you're jumping in right behind me. Read my comments in the edit section.

Vandalism
[edit]Sorry if I seem to be vandalsiing, I'm not delibratly trying to.
This other guy is completly off with his maths and won't accept he's wrong and leave the article be.
I am not familiar with how to talk to others on Wiki, I'm trying my best. I'd appreciate if you could tell me how I can have a debate with someone without inadvertidly vandalising anything.
Thanks. --Dpdr (talk) 01:09, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Hi
[edit]Wanted to let you know that I mentioned at User talk:Skeahey#Disagree with these warnings that I thought your level 3 vandalism warning for this edit was too strong and WP:BITEy. Not that I don't appreciate your vandalism reverts. I suspect you just got caught up in a series of over-the-top warnings to that editor and went with a huggle suggested revert/warning. Nonetheless, it caught my eye and thought you should know I called you out. Cheers! DoubleBlue (talk) 23:31, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
-- Drappel (talk) 12:26, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry for those bad reverts, once I come back from Wikibreak I will try to not make such bad reverts. Yes, I have read WP:VANDALISM many time and also WP:OWN, WP:BP and WP:BITE. Chevy Impala 2009 01:41, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

templated warning from 3 weeks ago
[edit]Hey, I came across a newbie's talkpage who is having a bit of trouble acclimating to WP and has now been blocked. I was reading through the warnings he's received and noticed this level 4 warning you issued him. The diff that you attached to the templated warning was not vandalism. Maybe you just attached the wrong diff, so please look into it. We should be welcoming newbies, not template their talkpages, especially on an incorrect basis. Hopefully, he would have been blocked anyway, because it would be unfortunate that your template was one of the straws that broke the camel's back.--brewcrewer (yada, yada) 05:44, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
AN3
[edit]Did you see the result of your report at the edit warring noticeboard? If you haven't yet, you should try starting a discussion at the article talkpage (not necessarily with the IP user, since he seems to be unresponsive, but just with other editors) to make a decision on how the article should be worded. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 14:31, 31 August 2009 (UTC)

Re:Adminship?
[edit]Hi Impala, not currently no, as I feel I do not know enough about Wikipedia's policies and have not had enough overall experience on Wikipedia, I wouldn't feel comfortable with that type of responsibility this early on in my Wikilife considering I've only been active for a little under 4 months now. I may well apply for it in the future, but for now, I'm happy just to help out where I'm needed :-). Jeffrey Mall (talk • contribs) - 21:44, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
