Hi. The edit I did in Batanagar was actually written in the article Calcutta Riverside. As it regarded about Batanagar more so I moved the writing to Batanagar. The writing was same as before. As that was kept in the Calcutta Riverside article, I thought that is not any copyright violation and did not checked, so I moved it. AnkurPl 10:42, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dumurjala moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Dumurjala, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 12:04, 26 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Many high net worth companies are based in Kolkata but are pretty unknown around the world because of the low availability of information in public platforms. BNJ Nilam (talk) 03:21, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Companies like Texmaco Rail & Engineering and Ramkrishna Forgings are waiting for getting reviewed. If you could help them out. BNJ Nilam (talk) 03:24, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I do not review articles. But I am thinking to create an article like "List of companies headquartered in Kolkata" where companies with high net worth will be visible and referenced. That will be better option instead of searching and editing each company article.
AnkurPl 06:42, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think there already exists a category of companies based in Kolkata. What we need to do is to create pages of the companies. People are totally unaware about the potential Kolkata holds. I hope this will help in improving the perception of the city on a global stage. BNJ Nilam (talk) 15:54, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please give me a list of companies which articles should be made.
Also that's a category with articles. I am talking about a detailed list page with wikitable.
However both could be made. Please provide some company names. AnkurPl 17:07, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have made my contribution is some of the recently added wiki articles about companies based in Kolkata. They being
  1. Shyam Metallics and Energy
  2. SAIL RITES Bengal Wagon Industry
  3. Texmaco Rail & Engg
  4. Jupiter Wagons
  5. Ramkrishna Forgings
  6. Usha Martin
Name of companies who don't have wiki pages and should be having one are
  • Vedant Fashions
  • Rashmi Metallics
  • Anmol Industries
  • Shyam Steel Industries
  • Senco Gold
  • P.C. Chandra Jewellers
  • Anjali Jewellers
  • M Baazar
  • Baazar Kolkata

  • Tarsons Products
  • Linde India

A tag has been placed on Indus Net Technologies, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Deletion discussion about Vertical City, New Town

[edit]

Hello AnkurPl, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Vertical City, New Town, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vertical City, New Town.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Dewritech}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

File:Kolkata metropolitan skyline.jpg

[edit]

JJMC89 who was hell bent on reducing the quality of the given skyline image through a bot multiple times has now proposed the image for deletion with specific conditions. He has also deleted the Deny Bot commands. Please look into the warning message on the image page and do what is needful so that the given image doesn't get deleted and remains in the same form.

Alternate Method: We can request the original creator of the reel (from which the image is taken) i.e, Satyam Bhushan to upload the image himself from his account on Wikipedia Commons with CC-by-SA 4.0 Self License. Skyline images of Mumbai have been uploaded in the same manner which remain in their highest quality. Please see which method is more suitable. Rourib Dutta (talk) 10:40, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am doing both. Because the first one will not stand very longer. Please you too request the creator to upload the ss from reel. AnkurPl 13:33, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I will DM the person on Instagram tomorrow, and will mention your name also. You should too leave a message on his Insta inbox so that he agrees and uploads it by himself on Wikimedia Commons. Rourib Dutta (talk) 14:19, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Now the image can not be reverted to previous quality. If the creator does not answer, I will again upload a slyline pic. Another pic will be better than this low quality pic. AnkurPl 05:15, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable non-free use File:Kolkata metropolitan skyline.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Kolkata metropolitan skyline.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Kona Expressway, NH12 a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Kona Expressway. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. — DaxServer (t·m·e·c) 10:46, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
