New Glasses is an American sitcom that aired September 13, 2011 on BET and concluded on May 16, 2017. The series consisted of six seasons and 144 episodes with twenty-four episodes in each season. The series follows quiet, intelligent, kindhearted, and awkward, Atlanta native, David Isaiah Armstrong as he embarks on a journey at Du Bois University, a Historical black college founded by W.E.B. Du Bois in 1898 in Charleston, South Carolina with the aid of his brand new glasses to help him see better in his studies but more so metaphorically in his life obstacles. David has always faced the pressure from his family of being perfect and making the legacy strong since he is a fourth generation Du Bois University student. Throughout the series, David continues to grow more and finds himself more as he matriculates at Du Bois with the help of some good people he comes across and while being of help to his other friends in the midst of trying to maintain a long distance relationship with his girlfriend of two years from high school who attends a different college.

[edit]- Matthew Walker as David Isaiah Armstrong: Native of Atlanta, Georgia majoring in Political Science. He is highly intelligent, ambitious, kindhearted, a little quirky, and very to himself and tries to be all about the books but he eventually starts to get a feel of the college life and begins to be more outgoing but he still tries to stay true to who he is and remember why he is in schoolHe is the childhood friend and best guy friend of Tierra. His best friends are Josh and Nick. From seasons 1-3, his roommate is Josh and from seasons 4-5 he shares an apartment with Josh. His girlfriend is Makayla who he has been with for two years before coming to Du Bois. Makayla attends Georgia A&M University in Savannah, Georgia majoring in Biology. In the season two finale, Makayla and David break up. He shares many intimate and sexual encounters with Tierra but avoids them all and eventually falls in love with Tierra but has trouble owning up to it. In season three, he becomes a member of the Alpha Zeta Chapter of Nu Phi Nu Fraternity, Incorporated where he is a third-generation member. In season four, he becomes the Executive President of the Student Government Association. He is a Class of 2015 graduate of Du Bois University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Political Science graduating as Valedictorian. In season five, he enrolls in the Du Bois University School of Law and gets a part-time job working in the Du Bois University Department of Admissions as an Admissions Counselor. His ex-girlfriend Makayla returns for medical school and moves in with Kenya who needs help with rent and impregnates Makayla after having sex with each other one night when returning home drunk from a club. At the end of season five, Makayla goes into a premature labor and gives birth to her and David's daughter, Destiny Michelle Armstrong. In season six, Makayla moves in David's apartment and attempt to co-parent with no strings attached as a married Josh and Kenya move out into a new house but David begins to fall back in love with her as she tries to move, he is awarded with Faculty Member of the Year, and in the series finale as Makayla is about to board the plane with her boyfriend, he proposes to her in the airport and she accepts. He is named as The Godfather of Josh and Kenya's son, Kendrick David Parker who he and Makayla delivered in the series finale.
- Jabria Stephens as Tierra Shanae James (seasons 1-4): From St. Louis, Missouri but born a native of Atlanta, Georgia majoring in Animal Science. She is very understanding and down-to-Earth is all about the college life but remains level-headed and is only focused on her education and education only. She isn't looking for a relationship, only if one comes to her and sometimes not even then. She is the childhood friend and best female friend of David. Her best friends are Kenya and Raven. From seasons 1-2, her roommates are Kenya and Raven. In season three, she is roommates with Kenya and moves in an apartment with Kenya in season four. Although just friends, she shares many intimate and some sexual encounters with David bit avoids them all and tries denying her feelings for David. She even has a sexual run-in with Nick who she is always bickering with the most, which she regretted immediately after she did it. In season two, she becomes a member of the Sigma Lambda Chapter of Beta Alpha Delta Sorority, Incorporated with Kenya. In the season four finale, she becomes a Class of 2015 graduate of Du Bois University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Animal Science graduating as Salutatorian. She battles with her next step in life whether she wants to stay in Charleston and be with David or pursue her further education at Tuskegee University Veterinary School. She eventually decides to leave Charleston much to David's despair but returns in the series finale to clear things up with David and helps him make a decision with Makayla. She is names co-godmother of Josh and Kenya's son, Kendrick David Parker in the series finale.
- Hadija Oyeket as Makayla Gabrielle Hamilton (recurring, seasons 1-2; regular, seasons 5-6): Native of Atlanta, Georgia majoring in Biology Pre-Med at Georgia Agricultural and Mechanical University. She is first introduced to the series in a recurring role as the sweet, loving, sometimes nagging and often jealous girlfriend of David. She and David have been together for almost two years prior to starting college. She makes frequent visits to Du Bois and sometimes tags along on the gang's trip. She has a particular disliking to Tierra who she feels like is too close to David and doesn't like their relationship nor understand where she came from and that she David were very good friends before Makayla came along. She does indeed find out, that Tierra was David's first crush but she looks over it and tells Tierra to back off since he is with her. In the season two finale, when Makayla visits she catches him and Tierra having sex and she makes him choose who he wants and David chooses neither but decides to break up with Makayla. Eventually, Makayla becomes a Class of 2015 graduate of Georgia A&M University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology. In season five, she returns as a main cast member, much to everyone's surprise and David's dismay as she enrolls into Du Bois University School of Medicine. Kenya needs help with the rent in her apartment because of Tierra's leave, hesitantly allows her to stay with her since she is looking for a place to stay, thanks to Josh's big mouth and is right across the hall from Josh and David's apartment. David and Makayla arrive from a club very drunk and end up having sex in Makayla's apartment. Makayla eventually finds out she's pregnant by David and in season five they give birth to a premature babygirl, Destiny Michelle Armstrong. In season six, she moves in David's apartment with no strings attached, as a married Josh and Kenya move to a new house. David becomes jealous of Makayla's suitors and eventually begins to fall back in love with her, just as she does but doesn't admit it. In the series finale, as Makayla is about to board a plane to London with her boyfriend who plans on asking to marry her there, David rushes to the airport to stop her and ask for her hand in marriage and she accepts. She is named as the co-godmother of Josh and Kenya's son, Kendrick David Parker, whom she and David delivered.
- Thaddeus Macmillan as Joshua "Josh" Benjamin Parker: Native of Miami, Florida majoring in Business Management. His best friends are David and Nick. In seasons 1-3, his roommate is David and in seasons 4-5, he and David share an apartment. He is a second-generation Du Bois University student. Although, very intelligent and level-headed he is always down for a good time and helps bring David out his shell. He is always looking for a way to make money and get his brand up but is very cheap about it. In the first season and half of the second, he strongly tries pursuing campus beauty, Kenya Fields who doesn't give him the time of day but she eventually does begin to be attracted to him once he saves her life and she sees that he is a really good guy, and they are together for the remainder of the series. In season three, he becomes a member of the Alpha Zeta Chapter of Nu Phi Nu Fraternity, Incorporated with David in which he is a second-generation member. In the season three finale, he quickly breaks up with Kenya in a heated argument but they get back together in the same episode after talking it out. He initially has a resentment of Asia who for always was around Kenya and could never have alone time until he addressed it in season three when Asia enrolled. In the season four finale, he becomes a Class of 2015 graduate of Du Bois University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Management. In season five, he gets a job working in the Financial Aid Office. In season five, he is named as The godfather of David and Makayla's daughter, Destiny Brianna Armstrong He proposes to his long time girlfriend Kenya in season five and in the season five finale, they get married after he leaves her at the altar initially. In season six, he and Kenya move into a house together that they bought and prepare for the arrival of their firstborn child. In the series finale, he and Kenya give birth to a boy named Kendrick David Parker.
- Candace Williams as Kenya Victoria Fields-Parker: Native of Detroit, Michigan majoring in African American studies. Her best friends are Tierra and eventually a close friend of Makayla, and the older cousin of Asia. She is a third-generation Du Bois Student. In seasons 1-2, she is Tierra and Raven's roommate. In season 3, she is Tierra's roommate and in season four she gets an apartment with Tierra. Although she is very obsessed with her looks and carries a bit of a conceited attitude, she is a very sweet and selfless person, who never hesitates to give a helping hand and always there as a shoulder to cry on. In season one and part of season two, she doesn't pay any attention to Josh who desperately and obviously pursues her but she does when he saves her from a near-death experience and realizes the good in him and his true love for her. In season two, she becomes a member of Sigma Lambda Chapter of Beta Alpha Delta Sorority, Incorporated with Tierra in which she is a second-generation member. In season three, her cousin Asia starts her freshman year at Du Bois University and pays her more attention than Josh which greatly upsets him. She and Josh quickly break up in the season three finale due to a heated argument but immediately reconcile and get back together. In season four, she serves as the 75th Miss Du Bois University for the 2014-2015 academic school year, like her aunt. In the season four finale, she becomes a Class of 2015 graduate of Du Bois University with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in African American Studies. In season five, she gets a job working as the Du Bois University Assistant Director of Student Activities and allows Makayla to move in with her who is need of a place to stay after Tierra moves out and as she needs help with the rent. Josh proposes to Kenya in season five and they get married in the season five finale. In season five, it is revealed that she had a run-in with Josh's half-brother the summer before they got together. She is named as the godmother of Destiny Brianna Armstrong, the daughter of David and Makayla in season five. In season six, she moves in a house with Josh that they bought as they prepare for the arrival of their firstborn child. In the series finale, she and Josh give birth to a boy named Kendrick David Parker.
- Andre Lee as Nicholas "Nick" Dwayne Shaw: Native of Cleveland, Ohio majoring in Mass Communications. He is a first-generation college student. Nick has been known to be very irresponsible, rude, lazy, a womanizer, and a bit of a troublemaker. Despite so many flaws, he is very dependable with a good heart which is why no matter how mad he makes his friends, they all still love him. He comes to college with the wrong idea: going to parties and getting girls. His best friends are David, Josh, and Philly and tries to be friendly with the girls who frequently are always irritated with him. In season one, he is Eric's roommate who is very opposite of him (one opposite being gay). From seasons 2-3, his roommate is Philly. From seasons 4-5, he shares an apartment with Philly. Throughout the show, he has had multiple sexual encounters and run-ins with so many woman including Tierra which he tries to forget about and has taken advantage of many girls and some have taken advantage of him. While David and Josh try to discourage his wrong choices, in some cases Philly will go along with them. In the series, Nick has dealt with gambling problems, selling drugs, and even using drugs. Nick however is very smart and works hard to something he puts his mind to it (when he actually does it). He loves video games and basketball. He realizes in season four, he can not graduate on time so in season five he gets his act together an becomes a Class of 2016 graduate of Du Bois University with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Mass Communications. In season six, Omar moves in his apartment to help him pay rent when Philly leaves and he gets a job as First Year Experience teacher and teaches Winter and Quincy. In the series finale, Nick gets offered his dream job of being on TV in New York and becomes one of the panelist for a present-day black culture panel talk show geared to young black men and women trying to make it in life and giving their opinion on how to be a black and survive in America called “Black Only”.
- Peaches Edwards as Raven Nicole Turner(seasons 1-2): Native of Baltimore, Maryland majoring in Social Work. She is a cheerleader. Her best friends are Tierra and Kenya. She is very much an airhead, a very big flirt and very, very goofy which is why everyone loves her. Her roommates are Tierra and Kenya. Her closest guy friend is Eric and because he's gay he's like another girl friend to her. She's all about school spirit and having a good time but sometimes can't focus in class because of boys. In season two, she begins to fall for her professor but she has to come to her senses. She does not return after the second season when she gets the opportunity to cheer professionally for her home town favorite NFL team, the Baltimore Ravens. She returns in the series finale, as the assistant head cheer coach.
- Kasey Nation as Eric Jamal Dexter (seasons 1-3): Native of Memphis, Tennessee majoring in Photography. He is gay and a member of the ARMY ROTC and he has often received heat from that. He is the most sarcastic of the group and very out-spoken but also the most sensitive and insecure. He chimes in with the girl conversations just as much as the guy conversations which the guys are somewhat surprised. He is known for giving everyone the best advice and always being there to listen but still judging them. In season one, he is Nick's roommate and constantly get in arguments with Nick's homophobia but they eventually become close and get to know each other better. In seasons 2-3, Eric is an RA. He clings closely with Raven the most. He does not return after the third season when he decides to enlist into the United States Army full time. He returns in the series finale to visit for Asia's graduation photoshoot as her photographer.
- Moses Mason as Sidney "Philly" Morgan Williams (seasons 2-5): Native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania majoring in Mechanical Engineering. He goes by the name of "Philly" because he always hated and was teased because he had two female names. He can have very immature and silly ways but he has more sense then what he acts like. He usually knows the right thing to do but he chooses not to do it especially when it comes to Nick. He is much like Nick which is why they grow to become very close. In seasons 2-3, his roommate is Nick and in seasons 4-5 he gets an apartment with Nick. In season They both grew up in rough neighborhoods and are first-generation college students but he is a bit more level-headed than Nick and not as outgoing as Nick but he always goes down with him in his schemes. In season two it is revealed that Philly has a great voice and plays piano. In season four, he becomes a member of the Alpha Zeta Chapter of Nu Phi Nu Fraternity, Incorporated with Omar. In season five, he has a near-death experience that almost prevents him from graduating. He becomes a Class of 2016 graduate of Du Bois University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at the end of season five and does not return after the fifth season when he gets a job working with NASA. He does however make a guest appearance in the series finale for Paige, Omar, and Asia's graduation.
- Jhazmyn Ball as Asia Christina Clark (seasons 3-6): Native of Chicago, Illinois majoring in Fashion Design and Marketing. Although growing up in a rough neighborhood and carries very "ghetto" tendencies but still tries to act classy about it. She is always the first to call someone out, never hesitates to speak her mind no matter if it's true or not, never backing down from a fight, and can be very nosey. But she still remains to be a kind-hearted individual when it's time to help her friends especially Paige she is always the first to be there. with tough love. Much like Kenya she is a fashionista and beauty guru. She is the younger first cousin of Kenya and clings to her when she first comes in as a freshman in season three. She could never be in a wholesome relationship most guys she deals with break her heart. In seasons 3-5 she and Paige are roommates and at first she doesn't like Paige because of her over-dramatic attitude but she eventually warms up to her and becomes best friends. In season four, she becomes a member of the Sigma Lambda Chapter of Beta Alpha Delta Sorority, Incorporated with Paige. In season six, she and Paige move in to Kenya's old apartment. In the series finale, she becomes a Class of 2017 graduate of Du Bois University with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Fashion Design and Marketing and gets a job offer working as a fashion consultant for Black Vogue Magazine.
- Mayah Robinson as Paige Yvette Roberts (seasons 3-6): Native of New Orleans, Louisiana majoring in Psychology. She is the most positive person in the bunch and is the sweetest there is but also very over-dramatic. She is a free spirit and advocates for feminism, and everything pro-black and she genuinely loves everybody. She never hesitates to stand up for what she believes in no matter what and has a great love and passion for art and is Muslim. The most eccentric character on the show. In seasons 3-5 she is roommates with Asia and at first her spunky attitude doesn't rub off on Asia well but it eventually grows on her and they become the best of friends. Asia and Paige are very much different but their differences are what make them such good friends. In season six, she and Asia move in to Kenya's old apartment. In season four, she becomes a member of the Sigma Lambda Chapter of Beta Alpha Delta Sorority, Incorporated with Asia. In season five, she sets her eyes on Omar and they eventually become a couple. She often comes to fits with Nick and his sexist views but always supports and agrees with the political views of David. In the series finale, she becomes a Class of 2017 graduate from Du Bois University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Psychology and moves to Dallas for graduate school and to support Omar as he plays professional football for the Dallas Cowboys.
- Nick Johnson as Omar Orlando Osborne (seasons 4-6): Native of Dallas, Texas majoring in Sports Management. He is the Big Man on Campus that all the girls love. He is a charming, handsome, well-mannered, and intelligent young man but he is very competitive and has serious anger issues. He transfers as a sophomore to Du Bois University from Texas Southern University in season four to play on a football and academic scholarship for the Du Bois Rams Football Team as the head quarterback. He becomes the school's star player bringing them victory after victory making a name for himself and the school. He becomes very good friends with Paige, Asia, and Philly. In season four, he becomes a member of the Alpha Zeta Chapter of Nu Phi Nu Fraternity, Incorporated with Philly. In season five, he and Paige go on their first date and become a couple after being unsure of his feelings for her for the longest even after he started having feelings for Asia first. In the series finale, he becomes a Class of 2017 graduate from Du Bois University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Sports Management and moves back to his home town, Dallas, with Paige to play professional football for his favorite NFL team, Dallas Cowboys.
- Raquel Reeves as Winter Rain North (season 6): Native of Los Angeles, California majoring in English Literature. She is very prissy, spoiled, privileged, high maintenance, and from a very wealthy family. She is racially mixed with her father being white and her mother being black and enters Du Bois as a freshman in the sixth and final season. She claims she wanted to attend Du Bois to get in touch with more of her blackness while she has been in schools with a predominantly white population all her life. She is a student of Nick's First Year Experience Course. She tries to maintain a steady friendship with classmate Quincy who has been pursuing her since they first arrived because she believes that he isn't good enough for her. In the series finale, as Winter begins to feel as if she likes Quincy she tries to date other guys but it doesn't work and as Quincy tells her he may not return because he has a balance he must pay Josh in financial aid, she pays it for him and she confesses that she did it because she wants him to come back so they can be together and kisses him. But, Quincy reveals that he's back together with his old girlfriend.
- Larry Davidson III as Quincy Lewis McBride (season 6): Native of Charlotte, North Carolina majoring in Music. Quincy is a class clown, very immature, energetic, big talking freshman of Du Bois University and plays the bass drum in The Du Bois University Roaring Rhythmic Rams marching band, one of the best and known HBCU bands anywhere on a partial music scholarship. Quincy doesn't take a lot of things serious but he is very serious about music which is something he absolutely loves, his dad marched in the band and his late uncle was the first band director. He is a student in Nick's First Year Experience class, whom Nick tells him he reminds him of himself when he was in school with the way he acts. Throughout the sixth season, he tries to pursue the class beauty and socialite, Winter North, who doesn't budge at all. In the series finale, Josh who is Quincy's financial aid advisor that he may not return to school the next semester because he has a remaining balance to the school and when Quincy tells Winter about it she decides to give him the money since he doesn't have it mainly because she has started gaining an attraction to him and doesn't want to lose him.

In the series premiere of New Glasses, kindhearted, awkward, and intelligent, David Isaiah Armstrong from Atlanta, Georgia starts his freshman year at the highly accredited and highly ranked nationwide historical black college, Du Bois University in Charleston, South Carolina where he is a fourth-generation student majoring in Political Science on a full ride scholarship with hopes of being an attorney. He moves in his dorm, Marshall Hall, and meets his roommate cool and well-dressed, Joshua Benjamin Parker from Miami Florida majoring in Business Management but referred to as "Josh". Although in some ways very similar to David, he is much more outgoing and friendly. At the dorm meeting, he meets troublesome and rebellious, Nicholas Dwayne Shaw (referred to as Nick) from Cleveland, Ohio majoring in Mass Communications and he is arguing with his sarcastic and snarky roommate who is in the ROTC program, Eric Jamal Dexter from Memphis, Tennessee majoring in Photography and is gay which causes problems. After they all meet and converse, they head down to The Ground which is one of the school's cafeteria's/restaurants/hangout spots in an underground area. When they arrive, David catches his eye on Tierra Shanae James, who he embraces and reunites with. Tierra is David's first best friend and first crush until she moved from Atlanta to St. Louis in the 6th grade. She is majoring in Animal Science. The guys also meet intelligent beauty queen from Detroit, Michigan, Kenya Victoria Fields majoring in African American studies and perky and air headed cheerleader from Baltimore, Raven Nicole Turner majoring in Social Work who are Tierra's roommates in Vincent Hall. They all decide to go out to a Welcome Back party and a hesitant David who isn't much of a party person doesn't want to go until he hears that Tierra is going and is all in. Later that night, the new freshman head to a club for the party and the square David actually gets out of his comfort zone and has fun. So much fun, that the next morning he missed his classes and lost his new pair of glasses. David freaks out because he's so ashamed he missed the first day of class which he was really looking forward to in addition to trying to find his new glasses that he just bought that he needs to see. His panicking stops when Tierra comes with his glasses that he left at the club and as he is talking to her about how bad he feels she comforts him knowing that in college he is gonna make mistakes but he can't let the mistakes make him. He has to bounce back even harder from the setback and uses his new glasses as an example of how when you make mistakes they become perfections and that his glasses will help him see the mistakes he made and help him see how to fix them. David takes that advice well and appreciates her advice and tries to get himself together. | ||||

With only the second week of school, none of the roommates are working out. Josh has a problem with David always up on his phone at night video chatting and talking to his girlfriend who goes to a different school. Eric has a problem with Nick who always has the music up loud when he is trying to study and Tierra, Kenya, and Raven who are in a three person dorm room have a trouble with space. After trying to work out, the guys resort to switching roommates: Nick becomes Josh's roommate and David becomes Eric's roommate. While, the girls attempt to divide the room in thirds for each girl. While initially the arrangements work, the new male roommates have found new problems. Josh hates Nick's messiness and Eric hates how David is always snoring keeping him up at night. Elsewhere, the girls realize the division of the small room creates more problems then there already were. In the end, the roommates talk about it and decide to go back how it was originally and find compromises. | ||||

The girls are in the lounge of Vincent Hall playing a game called Confess or Stress, where a player must either tell a secret or do a dare. The guys visit the lounge during the game, and while there, Nick gives the girls a huge teddy bear. Nick then decides to "rest" in his dorm because he is not feeling well. The next day, the girls' personal secrets are being heard all over campus, with new secrets coming out as more days pass. Soon, Tierra gets blamed by the other girls for revealing their secrets. In putting a stop to all this, Tierra, Kenya, and Raven check the bear Nick gave them, which has been in the lounge ever since, and discover it has a webcam inside it. Tierra asks David, Josh, and Eric if they are part of this scheme, which they all deny. The three become aware that Nick has been spying on the girls after looking on his laptop. To catch Nick in the act, the girls give him something to watch, which leads him to tell the President of Du Bois, Dr. Young, about it. In the end, Nick gets in trouble and loses the privilege of his laptop. | ||||

Makayla Gabrielle Hamilton, who is a freshman Biology major at fellow HBCU, Georgia A&M University, visits Du Bois for the weekend to celebrate the two year anniversary of her and David's relationship. David and Makayla are in a long distance relationship and they have been together since their junior year in high school and even though attending two different schools they decide to continue being in a relationship. David is very excited to see his girlfriend but is very nervous for everyone to meet her especially Tierra because he knows how jealous Makayla can be. When Makayla arrives everyone has met her except Tierra and she really wants to meet her. When Josh takes Tierra to their room so he can give her his book, they walk in on Makayla and David kissing and Tierra feels very uncomfortable. David then introduces Makayla to Tierra in a very awkward situation and Tierra then leaves. Later on, Tierra talks to Makayla and she is told to back off from David because he has a girlfriend and a very offended Tierra keeps her calm and backs away. Meanwhile, David has been wondering why Tierra has been so distant and when she tells him why David confronts Makayla at their anniversary dinner and tells her she was wrong and assures her that he is no longer and in no way interested in Tierra like that. All they will ever be is friends and Makayla accepts and apologizes to David and Tierra at the end when she is about to leave. | ||||

After bringing up the legend of a former Du Bois student named Thomas J. Grant who fled to the wilderness at a place called Black Rock because of an extremely hard test that drove him insane by Mr. Edwards Du Bois's oldest and longest serving teacher that first taught when Thomas went missing 30 years ago, David and the gang decide to go and check it out for themselves. A boy named Luke agrees to take them and the gang to the spot where Thomas is supposed to have disappeared in Luke's van. It is later revealed the only reason why Luke agrees to take the gang is because he has a crush on Raven. Later in the episode Raven and Luke are seen making out. While they are there, they find an old Du Bois bracelet. Using David's special binoculars, they manage to read an inscription on the back. It turns out to be a necklace that belongs to Thomas J. Grant. Nick thinks that if they show people at Du Bois the necklace, they'll become Du Bois legends, but when the gang refuse to let Nick keep the necklace, he steals it and puts it in Tierra's backpack. As they head back to school, a violent thunderstorm hits, forming a mysterious green cloud which follows them. While running, Tierra falls and breaks her ankle in the midst of the storm surrounding her. | ||||

After venting off to Black Rock to uncover a Du Bois University legend and a storm with a green cloud arrives, the freshmen students of Du Bois University run away from it and Tierra trips and falls and hurts her ankle as the storm gets harder and is screaming for help, David turns around to pick her up and carry her back to the van and return back to school. Once there, the pair meet with the rest of the gang who discuss what the green cloud was, finally agreeing it was a ghost, and when David takes Tierra to the nurse, Tierra begins to see paranormal things. The ghost attacks David, Tierra, and the nurse who are all in the infirmary, and locks the door trapping them, despite Josh's numerous attempts to get them out. Finally, they get out and are followed again as the ghost tries to roll Tierra on a gurney down outdoor stairs with a bucket stuck on her head (luckily she jumps off), until David makes two glowing orbs that will make the ghost go away. Trapped in the classroom, they were due to have the important test in the next day. David and Tierra throw the orbs at the cloud, and it disappears but then reappears again. Nick finally admits to the gang who is angry and annoyed with him for stealing the necklace and almost getting them all killed. After taking the necklace back to Black Rock, the ghost returns it's resting spot, and David, Tierra, and Nick, rush back for the important exam. When Mr. Edwards demands to know why his classroom is in such a mess, the gang have to own up, saying it was Thomas's ghost. Edwards however shouts that it was just a story and there is no such thing as ghosts. Thomas J. Grant then attacks the teacher, spinning him in circles, to which he cancels the exam. David thanks Thomas as he returns to his resting place. | ||||

Eric and Kenya are members of Du Bois's homecoming committee and aim to get Chris Brown to perform at the event. When they find out it costs $5,000 to book him, Eric and Kenya get the help of David, Josh, Raven, Tierra, and Nick to start a fund-raiser, though they raise only a small portion of what they need. A Du Bois alumnus offers enough money for them to reach their goal and leaves them to wash his car, but they accidentally damage it and must use some of the funds to get it fixed before he returns. When Chris Brown arrives, his manager sees they do not have enough for the gig and consequently calls the performance off. However, Chris notices some students wearing T-shirts which were designed by Eric and Kenya offers to do the concert for free if she gives him the shirt design. In the end, Chris Brown rocks the homecoming concert and performs his hit songs "She Ain't You" and "No Bullshit". Special Guest Star: Chris Brown as himself. | ||||

She resents having to do this because she's convinced her natural curls are pretty enough. That is until Keenan, star football wide receiver , her crush, compliments her on her new look. Suddenly she's in love with her straight hair and even contemplates getting a relaxer. Tierra really concerned about her friend's decision, talks it over with David and Eric and decides to intervene. When Raven invites Keenan to her dorm one day to study, Tierra pretends to be a Stepford wife, cleaning, serving him meals and totally catering David as if they are in a relationship. She downplays her education and ambitions and focuses solely on David and his needs. Raven grows angry at the antics but realizes she should never have to change for a man and after talking to her coach she doesn't have to wear her hair straight and on game day Keenan confirms this affirmation with an "I always liked you." | ||||

David then finds out his birthday is coming up and decides to throw him a party with his friends, and members of the ROTC program in The Ground. And when they surprise him he runs off and cries, and Eric explains that he misses her mother, serving in the navy oversees, and hasn't been the same since she left three years ago and he wants to do the military to make her proud because she is his hero. So David calls the First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama and gets her to fly Eric's mother home for his birthday. David with the rest of the gang, Eric's friends of ROTC with a surprise visit from Michelle Obama and her mother have a birthday party at The Ground. David knows the First Lady because of how he met and talked to her at a field trip to the White House he took. Michelle Obama commends Eric's mother for her service, Eric for following in her footsteps to serving the country and to David for being such a good friend and the rest of the students for being in school and getting an education. Kenya's disguise as "Kenny" gets foiled when Josh and Nick have a water basketball game, and "Kenny" is dragged into it. In the end, the girls prove their point, since the guys acted normal around "Kenny", and are allowed again to relax on the boys' dorm roof. | ||||

And the only way that the meals are free is if he eats "The Choke Stroke" which is spaghetti and eating a gigantic meatball. His friends help him eat the giant meatball and spaghetti in order to make the meals free which they do but all end up throwing up from a stomach ache. | ||||

On the last day before Christmas break, everyone opens the gifts they have gotten for everyone. Nick opens his gift that he received from David. It comes in a big package and he expects it to be a big extravagant gift but it's actually a diorama of the manger scene when Jesus was first born and Nick doesn't really appreciate it. To teach him the real Christmas spirit, Josh, Raven, and Eric teach Nick the story of when Jesus Christ was born but both versions are incorrect and very comedic because they make their stories very modern. David gets irritated at his friends when he sees them making a mockery out of one of the greatest moments in time. David then goes on to tell how special his birth was and the true story of his birth. | ||||

David isn't really up for it at first but, when Josh and Nick finds out how much money he will be making he immediately wants to join in and urges the others to join in as well. After long hours of baking, the gang begins to get tired but Nick and Josh keep pushing them. They become so irritable that they start throwing food items at each other thus ruining the process and not delivering the orders in on time. | ||||

They are going to treat them just like girls since they want to be which turns out to be more what they bargained for and when Josh is dared to go kiss a boy they come out of their costumes and reveal their disguises and Tierra and Kenya confess they were on to them the whole time with a very shocked Raven and the guys apologize for invading their privacy and is kicked out. | ||||

Josh who is in need of some extra money and always looking for a hustle, meets a drug dealer named Rod who he recruits into selling cocaine on the streets to make him some money. Josh thinks heavily about the situation but when he thinks about all the money he can make he immediately goes for it. He starts out very successful and making a lot of money and his friends begin to wonder where all the money is coming from. David then finds cocaine hanging from underneath his bed and is shocked and confronts him about how dangerous it is but he doesn't listen. Josh eventually almost gets in legal trouble when they are trying to find Rod. When Rod is put behind bars and they don't find any substance that Josh has since he threw it away, Josh apologizes to David for being upset and apologizes to his friends for selling drugs knowing it doesn't end well and says he won't do it again because it scared him to death. They then tell him that there are other ways to making money that are legally. | ||||

David then confesses in front of Nick to his parents on the phone that he lied to them about studying and apologizes and admits he just wanted to be bothered while he was out with his friends in hopes that Nick would no longer cheat. David finds out Nick still intends to cheat and has written the test answers on his arm but it sweats off at the gym with Nick, Josh and Eric. Nick eventually realizes that time he spent trying to figure out ways to cheat he was studying. | ||||

At first it is a fun game among the friends but it gets to be very tight: the very competitive Kenya against the very competitive Nick. They're down to the last rounds and Kenya and Nick are neck and neck as Nick bowls the lights go out because of rain and they don't know if Nick made the shot or not but Nick claims he did while Kenya doesn't believe it. So they return that same night to finish the game and when Kenya ends up beating him Nick is not a happy camper. Everyone returns back to campus arguing about who won and David has had enough and says they are arguing about something very stupid and that it doesn't matter it was supposed to be a friendly game. Kenya and Nick admit that David was right and apologize to each other for acting out. | ||||

Valentine's Day is approaching and David is very down that he can't celebrate his first Valentine's with his girlfriend, Makayla. Meanwhile, Raven and Eric are planning a Valentine's Day Mixer in The Ground and plan on hosting it and urges everyone to come out and support even if you're single. When they see how sad David is they arrange for Makayla to come to town and surprise him for Valentine's Day so they can come to the mixer. When she does, David is very thrilled and surprised and happy to see Makayla while Tierra wishes desperately for a valentine and feels bad when she sees how happy David is and she starts to realize that she may have feelings for him. Throughout the night of the mixer, she tries talking to many guys who none spark an interest in. Makayla has to leave the mixer in the middle of it and go back to school when she gets an email that she has an assignment due the next morning that she forgot about which really disappoints David. When she leaves, David notices Tierra sitting down alone and offers a dance between the two since they're the only ones not dancing. Tierra accepts and as they dance she lays her head on his shoulder and as they look into each other's eyes they are about to kiss until Nick the DJ changes the music to a fast song. | ||||

When walking from class, Josh and Nick try to scare off a skunk but it ends up spraying them both giving them an unbearable awful odor and they don't know what to do. They try to bathe themselves multiple times and they still stink. Then they try to lather themselves in cologne. When that doesn't work they start to embrace it and Eric, Kenya, and Raven tell them that tomato juice helps get rid of the skunk smell. So they by multiple jugs of tomato juice and chug them down and the smell is still there. David and Tierra tell them that eating tomato juice doesn't get rid of it but bathing in tomato juice does. They are immediately grossed out by that but they get tired of smelling like a skunk so they bathe in the tomato juice and it's gone. | ||||

Eric has been avoiding going to the dentist since he's been in school and he always comes up with some scheme to get out of going. His friends come up with a plan to get Eric to the dentist. Raven pretends to break her tooth so that Eric can take her to the dentist. When he takes her to the dentist, Raven reveals to him that she was faking it and that she tricked him to taking her to the dentist. David, Josh, Nick, Tierra, and Kenya then make their appearance and as Eric starts to fight David, Josh, and Nick off, with Raven, Tierra, and Kenya holding him back, Raven actually breaks her tooth and David cracks his glasses lens, Nick gets a sprained nose, Josh twists his ankle, Tierra bangs her head and gets a headache, Kenya breaks her nail. So in the end, Raven and Eric both have to go the dentist. Eric is put on nitrosoxide gas to make her say funny things, and Raven starts talking funny. | ||||

It is Du Bois's University prank week, and the freshman are vulnerable to it since they are knew. They allow the pranks to continue without retaliating, but after the juniors pull off the ultimate water balloon prank, the Freshman gang decide to defend themselves. The gang gets an off-handed idea from David to put women's clothes and lipstick on the statue of W.E.B. Du Bois, the founder of Du Bois University, but the founder's great-grandson, Mr. Jennings, comes to the school and becomes angered over the disrespectful display of his great-grandfather. As punishment, he wants to expel all freshman for getting expelled. Not wanting his friends to leave, David takes full blame and appeals to Mr. Jennings to expel only him, since it was technically his idea to which he agrees on the condition she apologizes to the entire student body and his friends try talking him out of it David thinks he's doing what is right. As David prepares to leave Du Bois, a mysterious liquid flows from the statue's legs. Nick risks getting expelled as the mastermind behind this latest display, but everyone else decides to share the blame. As a result, Mr. Jennings does not expel anyone, including David, and just wants the students to stop dishonoring his great-grandfather. | ||||

In part one of the two-part season one finale of New Glasses, for spring break the gang along with Makayla decides to go on a camping trip much to Tierra's dismay because she is not a nature-outdoors person. Tierra is doing nothing but complaining mainly because she brought a lot of things she doesn't need nor can use in the woods and she's the only one making her trip miserable. So she tries doing just that but Nick isn't making anything better because he continues to play pranks on her making her even more paranoid. Some hours past and at the campfire, Tierra becomes even more frightened at this spooky ghost story Nick tells her about the alligators turning into zombies at night. At this scary story, she is highly upset with him and goes to sleep. Later on that night, while sleeping in their tents, they all begin to hear rumbling around the tents and it wakes them out of their sleep. They're all very frightened when they see alligators coming out the lake trying to attack them and they become even more scared and worried when they notice Tierra is gone. | ||||

In part two of the two-part season one finale of New Glasses, after the Du Bois University favorite Freshman plus Makayla go on a camping trip for spring break, Tierra who has a miserable time and even worse because of Nick's jokes and scary stories, she goes missing in the middle of the night as they are being attacked from alligators in the lake. The guys try to fight them off but that makes it worse while the girls are screaming not knowing what else to do. Nick gets his gun and shoots the alligators dead. Once that is done they all split up in groups looking for Tierra. Kenya and Josh in one group, Raven and Eric is one group while Makayla and David are in another group and Nick stays at the camp site in case Tierra turns up there. Meanwhile, Tierra is across the woods at another lake peaceful walking around and dipping her toes in the water finally enjoying nature. Eventually, David finds her and fusses at her for leaving but she tells him she left because she had to urinate and got lost in the beauty of the night nature and she started to enjoy nature to camp on her own experience without everyone else (like Nick) judging her. David then tells Tierra that even though she had a rough time he's glad she came and he's glad that she's safe because he was afraid for anything bad to happen to her. Tierra is touched by this and hugs him and they look each other in the eye and share a kiss and Makayla who was far behind David catches up to him and is glad to see he found Tierra and notices the two acting very awkward about something but doesn't bring it up. When they walk back to site, David and Makayla feel awkward about the kiss and agree even though it was a really good kiss, it was just a spur of the moment and they have no real feelings toward each other because Makayla is the girl that David is in love with and that all they will and ever be is just friends. |

In the season two premiere of ‘’New Glasses’’, the students of Du Bois University return for another year of learning and life lessons at the historic and prestigious college. Du Bois favorite students, David Armstrong, Tierra James, Josh Parker, Kenya Fields, Nick Shaw, Raven Turner, and Eric Dexter are back at Du Bois to start their sophomore year. David and Josh are roommates yet again in a different and nicer dorm, Pruitt Hall, while Eric is an RA dealing with Nick’s new roommate, a very unruly and intolerable freshman guy from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Sidney Morgan Williams who prefers to be called “Philly” majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Philly challenges Eric and makes a full out of him which Nick loves and what Eric hates and doesn’t know how to approach. Tierra, Kenya, and Raven are roommates in a three-person room yet again but now in Ingram Hall. Elsewhere, Tierra and David decide to start over as just friends and clarify they don’t want to ruin their good friendship. Tierra overhears David on the phone talking to Makayla and she hears him breaking up with her which she takes as a chance to be with him which is really what she wants. Instead of going straight to it, the girls encourage her to wait and instead surprise him one day in his dorm with a sexual outfit expressing her love for him. Later on, David informs his friends except Tierra that he is trying to get a new phone because it keeps messing up and that the other day it kept the reception kept “breaking up” him and Makayla’s phone call and that she understands and already knew he needed a new phone. The gang realizes that Tierra misinterpreted his phone call thinking he was actually breaking up with Makayla so Kenya and Raven stall David from going to his room while Josh, Eric, and Nick go to David’s dorm to stop Tierra in her scheme and explains the situation to her and they try to turn off the romance stuff and David barges in and is very confused and they play it off like they were trying to clean the room up. Tierra then leaves very embarrassed crying to her friends. ‘’’Note’’’: This episodes marks the first appearance of Sidney “Philly” Morgan Williams (portrayed by Moses Mason) as he joins the main cast. | ||||

Halloween has rolled around and Nick's plan is to scare all of his friends. This plan does indeed work so to get him back everyone tries scaring Nick but all of their attempts fail. Growing tired of him not being scared, David dares Nick to spend the night in the condemned dorm on campus that has been deemed as haunted for decades, Hale Hall. Nick accepts and the rest of the bunch joins in. On Halloween night, everyone packs up their things and spends the night in the dorm, nothing weird starts to happen but the atmosphere is very scary and it creeps everyone out except Nick. Soon enough, abnormal things start happening and it terrifies everyone but Nick. However, Nick starts to get frightened when everyone starts disappearing in thin air. When he is left alone, he starts hearing demonic voices saying they will take him away. He starts screaming and asking for help and when he does this everything stops and his friends come from out the dark laughing at him. Nick is confused and he realizes the entire thing was a prank concocted by his friends and spearheaded by David to prove that even Nick Shaw gets scared by something. | ||||

After Raven causes an accident involving coffee carts and Dr. Young’s wife, Dr. Young bans all coffee carts at Du Bois and makes a rule that no coffee is allowed on campus. Josh and Nick start selling coffees in their room, but overcharges his customers, selling large coffees at $9 per cup, and $1 more for sugar and tries to hide it from RA Eric but lets it slide when they offer him a discount. When the girls find out, they decide to open another coffee sale in their room, but they charge less than half of what Josh and Nick charge, at $4 per large cup. Nick finds out, and he decides to tell Dr. Young about them selling coffee in their room. So the girls try to sabotage the boys coffee shop with a laser to shoot all of the plastic cups. Eventually, both groups are caught, and Dr. Young is extremely unforgiving and relentless to the group. Even when David tries to convince him that everyone thinks his rule is unfair, he is about to expel them, but he uses Philly’s laser gun and accidentally breaks the door of his cupboard, which has a coffee machine behind it. This forces him to allow coffee again. At the end, Cory (the guy who works at the coffee cart) gets back at Nick and Josh by charging him $400 for one cup. | ||||

Eric and Kenya have claimed a wall on campus they are allowed to paint on as long as it’s appropriate, when they return from classes getting ready to do some more painting, they see that this woman from New York starts painting on their wall and when they tell her stop painting and to leave it alone she doesn't listen. She starts ruining the paintings that they have drawn since they have been there. They complain to their friends who don't seem very concerned. Late at night, the two painters go and destroy the painting that the lady has started working on. The next day, they see the same lady up and early painting again and she starts painting even more. They are highly frustrated yet highly impressed with her skill and they are astounded when they see the mural that she has created. It's a mural honoring all the African American troops and she explains that she was creating this mural for her son who died attended Du Bois and served in the United States Navy. Eric and Kenya apologize and applaud her work and what it stands for. Eric especially relates because of his mother being in the United States Navy and he hoping to serve the country one day. They then invite her to The Ground for some lunch with the rest of the gang. | ||||

Tierra’s mother, Dianne, convinces her daughter to audition to be Du Bois University’s unlucky ram mascot Ramsey, due to Dianne being Ramsey when she was a student at Du Bois. Tierra does not want to be Ramsey, so she tries to throw the tryout; coincidentally it turns out she was the only one who tried out, so Tierra becomes the mascot by default. Her mother, who is in town for the weekend for the first basketball game against South Carolina State University, is excited, but when Tierra reveals she never wanted to be Ramsey in a huge outburst, Dianne is dismayed and decides to fill in for Tierra at their first home basketball game, but the rival school kidnaps Dianne, thinking she was Tierra, so she attacks them and goes back to the game, where Tierra is being attacked by SCSU’s bulldogs mascot. Dianne attacks the bulldog and she and Tierra take down the bulldog together. | ||||

Nick meets and falls head over heels for this sweet and pretty girl named Melanie, they date for a few weeks, but Nick starts sensing that something isn't right when she continues to not invite him in her dorm, so he accuses her of seeing someone else and then when she cancels their lunch date but sees her in the student center with another friend he breaks up with her. Later, Melanie meets up with Nick and explains that she isn’t seeing anyone else, she was just tutoring and that she cancelled their lunch date because she had a doctor's appointment because she is HIV positive which is also the reason why she has never invited him to her room even when she is really tempted to and she didn't want to contract him with it. A surprised Nick understands and appreciates her telling. Melanie then thinks it would be best if they broke up because it was too much for the both of them and Nick agrees and they decide to just be friends. | ||||

The winner gets a private van for two to travel anywhere in the world, and many people are determined that they can win. Nick tries to win by lying about breaking his leg, scaring students off, sneezing on their hands and he requested a chair so the competition would be easier for him. Nick locks Tierra in the porta potty during the break but she eventually breaks out when it’s time return. Nick gets campus girl nerd, Courtney Leonard to lose by offering to be her boyfriend for a week. Tierra wins by tricking Nick who ends up stuck with Courtney. | ||||

An intoxicated David soon tumbles from the rooftop, and is clinging to dear life. Tierra ends up risking her life to try to save David's, while Blake ends up in jail. | ||||

Simon is very attractive and charming and all of the girls in the close are completely head over heels for him while all the guys envy him. Raven is the only one who seems to be not phased by Simon's intellect, looks, charm even though deep down she really is. One day he and the class visit the campus art exhibit to explore psychology in art and when Simon and Raven are found in one area of the art exhibit alone talking about the meaning of the picture, they share a kiss as their interpretations of the art become more personal and intimate. They both are in shock after the first kiss but continue kissing and then stop when they realize what they're doing is wrong. The next day, class is very awkward for the two and Raven isn't acting the same way she usually does and tries avoiding him. Philly tells David that his father never supported his music because he told him he would never make it out and David swears to keep it a secret but asks that Philly send some of his music to him. The music Philly sends David accidentally leaks to the others and they are so surprised and glad to hear Philly’s music which upsets Philly because he never wanted it to get out. Tierra then proceeds to sign up Philly for a talent show and he refuses to perform and David really tries encouraging him too. Philly informs them that performing music in front of an audience has always been a fear because of his Dad’s views on performing. David and the gang then come up with a plan to get Philly at the talent show to perform his song on the piano and when he finishes he realizes he is on stage and the audience is cheering him on and he is rewarded with the first place prize. | ||||

After Josh is still on crutches but able to go to class, Kenya is helping him around and they begin dating. Josh is very happy because he finally got Kenya to be his girlfriend after working so hard to get her but Eric crushes his dreams and tells him that Kenya isn’t in love Josh, she’s only in love with what he did. Josh doesn’t believe him at first but he starts to agree with him the more he ponders. When he goes to talk to Kenya, he tells her that they shouldn’t be together not until Josh gets better because Kenya doesn’t love him like she thinks she does. She’s just there to help Josh out get better because she feels guilty. Kenya rebuttles and tells him that the accident made her fall in love with him because it finally opened her eyes to see how great of a guy he truly is and how much he really loves her. All of that makes her want to be with someone who she knows really, really wants to be with her and she’s stupid if she doesn’t see it. They all think their relationship is ruining the group, so they find a way to break them up. When their plan is a success, they see how sad Josh and Kenya have become and they realize them being apart is much worse than them being together especially in the group gatherings. David, Tierra, Nick, Eric, Raven, and Philly try putting them back together and admit that they broke them up on purpose for selfish reasons without addressing the problems to them like they should have. When she is featured in the magazine she asked to model in the New York Fashion Week. She is astounded and excited by this news and she gladly accepts the invitation and heads to New York with her friends Tierra and Raven for fashion week. Backstage she meets her favorite supermodel, Tyra Banks and she talks to her telling her to do her best. At the end of the fashion show, Tyra asks her to stay in New York with her so they can model together and she can help her with her career. Although, Kenya really enjoys modeling and it's the chance of a lifetime she doesn't want to give up her other dream of being at Du Bois and staying with Josh. In shock, Nick assures him that there is nothing going on between him and Caleb and that he is completely straight. When Caleb meets Nick in his dorm the next day and Nick starts to notice his gay tendancies and he kicks him out in subtle way. The next day, Caleb is mad because Nick treating him differently because he's gay so Caleb stops being friends with him. Nick talks with his Eric about the situation and Eric being gay is offended because he still thinks that Caleb shouldn't be treated any different because he is still a human. Eric knows how Nick first treated him and it hurt and from that they became really good friends and he should give Caleb the same chance. Who Nick hangs around doesn’t make him any more gay or any more straight, Eric tells him. The teams become very competitive and the teammates egg on the battle more so than Eric and Josh while David and Tierra become very irritated. On the day of the competition, Eric and Josh tastes each other’s recipe and they realize both of them taste equally delicious so they make amends and before the winner is announced, the famous cook off judge turns out to be a fraud wanted by the Authorities and the cook-off is cancelled. | ||||

After being arrested and let out on bail, Andre and his gang tell David that he can expect to get shot if she testifies against them again. David, scared for his life, gets the idea from Nick and Philly who grew up around gangbangers and once were briefly apart of one, that he needs to buy a gun for self-defense, even though his other friends beg him to reconsider. But then, just moments before David can go through with the gun purchase, Andre shoots his friend Mark because he refused to give them his shoes and he tried to fight them off and they are arrested on sight. Fortunately, to stop all the gun violence the students of Du Bois along with alumni and community supporters host a rally and fundraiser called "Save a Life, Turn In Your Gun" and Philly performs a song and rap about saving your life by turning in a gun or other weapons. | ||||

David tells all his friends except Nick and they tell him to tell Nick and he battles with this because this is the first time he’s seen Nick happy with a girl and he doesn’t want to ruin it because it’s so rare. David eventually does work up the nerve to tell Nick and he does it in the presence of Stephanie. Stephanie denies it and tells Nick the opposite that David was trying to make a move on Stephanie. David tells Nick that she's lying but Nick believes Stephanie and completely ends his friendship with David. Later on as he is about to have sex with Stephanie, he hears her moan David’s name instead of Nick’s. He questions her actions and when she cannot explain he breaks up with her and leaves. The next day, he apologizes to David and he accepts his apology and they resume their friendship. | ||||

Best friends Tierra and Kenya decide to pledge to the Beta Alpha Delta, Sorority Incorporated, the oldest collegiate sorority founded for and by African American woman, in which Kenya’s mother, Vanessa, and Tierra's older sister, Tiana are a member of. They tried to encourage their best friend and roommate Raven to join but is too busy with cheerleading and doesn’t believe she fits in with Black Greek culture but she will still support her friends in the process. The girls process starts off smooth but it gets tougher. The current members of the chapters who are over the pledges like Tierra more than they like Kenya and they tell Tierra that her only way of getting in is if she does something awful to Kenya, Tierra battles with this and talks to David, Raven, and her older sister Tiana about it. Although, Tiana really wants her to become a Beta like her, she tells her that it's not worth compromising her friendship with Kenya, and David and Raven tell her the same. Kenya is completely oblivious to the actions that are taking place behind her back. Tierra decides to tell her big sisters that she cannot go through with the humiliating task they asked her to commit upon Kenya and when she thinks that she's not gonna get in, they accept her because she exemplifies true sisterhood and loyalty and they admit that it was just a test to see where her morals lie. In the end, Tierra and Kenya both become members of the Sigma Lambda Chapter of Beta Alpha Delta Sorority, Incorporated making their long-awaited dreams come true. | ||||

A heat wave hits Charleston, South Carolina as spring break is on the rise and they decide to Du Bois gang decide to head to the in an RV and go to a beach house for a few days to cool off on shore. When they get there Nick runs out of the RV rushing to the bathroom and as he closes the door another RV parks right next to them blocking the exit. Therefore, the others are all locked in a very hot RV until Nick gets back to drive the truck connected to the RV out of the way so they could get out. But the problem is Nick doesn’t return as soon as possible like he should have because he gets distracted by a group of women who are hanging out there as well, one in particular, Amber, who flirts with him the entire time and begins liking him and he begins liking her, who he eventually asks out but she doesn't know how to respond. Meanwhile, the others, Josh, Kenya, David, Tierra, Eric, Raven, and Philly have been locked in the RV for hours with no air conditioner or water so they are all miserable and begin doing crazy things. When Nick returns, the others start rushing out the van to the beach with it only being 5:30 P.M. not realizing that other RV had been gone for a little while. | ||||

In part one of the two-part season two finale of ‘’New Glasses’’, lately the longer they continue a long-distance relationship, the more David and Makayla are growing apart and David wants to save their relationship but he feels as if something is stopping it. Tierra gets the idea for Makayla to come to Du Bois for the weekend to spend some time together and talk about what’s going on in person at a sweet candlelight dinner picnic. Makayla arrives and is very happy to see David but he doesn’t seem the least bit interested in her presence. Tierra tries to arrange a special candlelight picnic between the two and when David struggles with how to tell Makayla his feelings Tierra pretends to be Makayla so David can practice. As he talks, they both get lost in each other’s eyes as if they are actually on a date and they begin to kiss. Later on, Makayla is looking for David and walks in David’s room and is shocked to see Tierra and David having sex. | ||||

In part two of the two-part season two finale of ‘’New Glasses’’, when David’s girlfriend, Makayla comes to Du Bois for the weekend, she walks in David’s room and catches David and Tierra in the middle of having sex. Makayla freaks out and David and Tierra immediately apologize and Makayla wants to hear nothing. She gets so mad that she almost fights Tierra and she gives David the option to choose who he wants before it’s too late and Tierra rushes out the room without even talking to David. Makayla is even more upset because David and Makayla was supposed to have sex for the first time with each other during that weekend but instead he loses his virginity to Tierra which the guys are very happy about but sad for David of how it turned out while the girls are surprised and understand why Makayla is upset but they still stick by Tierra. Tierra doesn’t know what’s next for her and David. David has a tough time thinking about what he should do because he doesn’t want to lose Makayla but at the same time he has fallen deep in love with Tierra but he realizes he can’t have it both ways. In the end, Makayla decides for David that they should break up and she never wants to see or hear from David ever again. David is hurt because he broke her heart and when he tries talking to Tierra about their feelings, Tierra said it’s best if David just remains alone for awhile instead of being in a relationship so they both can have time to think about what they want. In the season three premiere of ‘’New Glasses’’, Du Bois University is up and ready for another year of producing the world’s future great leaders and the Rams are in full effect to get back. Now Juniors, David Armstrong, Eric Dexter, Kenya Fields, Tierra James, Joshua Parker, and Nick Shaw have and sophomore Sidney “Philly” Williams have returned and are all staying in the first brand new co-educational dorm on campus for upperclassmen, Livingston Hall. David and Josh are roommates again and so is Philly and Nick while Eric is an RA for a second year. Tierra and Kenya are now roommates by themselves because their best friend and usual third roommate, Raven is not returning to Du Bois because she got offered the chance to cheer for her hometown favorite NFL team the Baltimore Ravens (in which she is named after) so she seized the opportunity while she could. Elsewhere, spunky, over-dramatic and free spirit Muslim from New Orleans Louisiana, Psychology major, Paige Yvette Roberts starts her freshman year and gets acquainted to her not so-friendly and very anti-social roommate Asia Christina Clark from Chicago, Illinois who is Kenya’s younger cousin majoring in Fashion Design and Marketing living in female freshman dorm, Vincent Hall. A recently-broken up David returns to Du Bois on a mission determining and to be with Tierra after he has had some time to think. When he approaches Tierra that he wants to talk to her about something important, she tells him the same and they agree to meet later on. David gets dressed up nice and gets roses for Tierra prepared to confess his love only to walk in on her kissing another guy is shocked. Tierra then proceeds to introduce her new boyfriend, junior basketball star, Marcus Taylor, a guy she had been talking to over the summer and David panics and lies that he wanted to tell her about his new girlfriend “who he talked to over the summer as well and was actually about to meet up with on a date”. When he pretends to take a phone call to avoid the awkward situation he goes outside to think of a plan and notices Paige and sees how pretty she is and asks to take her out only to make Tierra believe he has moved on as well. A gullible Paige immediately falls for by David’s scheme through his good looks and charm and meets Marcus and Tierra who is quite impressed. David tries faking the relationship long enough for it to be believable even though he has no true interest in Paige at all. When he brings her to the Ground to meet the gang, Asia who is there with her cousin Kenya getting to know the gang subliminally mentions the truth about Paige which is opposite of what he told Tierra and the others and an embarrassed Paige flees crying while Tierra is upset at him for lying just like his other friends. In the end, David apologizes to Paige for using her and she accepts and they agree to be friends and David admits to Tierra that he did it to only prove to her that he has moved on just like she has. Tierra admits that she and Marcus have broken up but that she is not trying be in a relationship. Du Bois Freshman, Asia is trying to adjust to the college life and seeks help and clings to her older cousin Kenya, a Junior at Du Bois who has experienced her ropes as both freshman and sophomore and tries to look out for her like her aunt and mother asked of her to do. Kenya doesn’t mind looking out for Asia in addition to her roommate and friend Paige but Josh on the other hand does not like it. Josh feels as if ever since Asia has arrived Kenya has forgotten all about him and puts him second where Kenya swears to him that’s not the case so she arranges a movie night for just them two to make him feel better but as soon as she gets a call from Asia who needs a ride somewhere, Kenya immediately drops everything and tends to her needs. Josh gets very annoyed and starts to absolutely resent Asia because he’s stealing her girlfriend so Josh gives her a taste of his own medicine and starts hanging out with his guy friends more David, Philly, Nick, and Eric more and when she isn’t bothered at first he takes it to another level and she begins getting irritated with him. Josh then explains to Kenya that she was doing the same thing and when she realizes this she apologizes and tells him that she will try to keep a balance and Asia apologizes for being a pest. | ||||

It’s homecoming week and the parties are in full swing. Now that they are twenty-one years old, they’re finally able to drink at parties and clubs so Nick and Tierra drink a lot of drinks and become very, very intoxicated. David his drunk friends back to campus and Tierra comes to Nick’s room to give him back his phone charger and when she comes in their room the alcohol makes their hormones rage and they begin to kiss and end up in the bed. David comes to Nick’s room to check up on him and Philly and David wake Nick up to notice Tierra is in the bed together and they scream when they see them and Tierra and Nick scream when they see David and Nick and when Tierra and Nick look at each other in the bed naked they scream too and run out the room leaving Philly tickled and David highly upset. Nick is actually very happy that he finally got in bed with Tierra while David is very mad at him and her because Nick knows how much David likes her and that they’ve had sex before. Elsewhere, Tierra is avoiding Nick and David because she knows he’s mad and when the others grow tired of the awkward tension they make Nick and Tierra talk and say that even though it was enjoyable it was meaningless sex and if they weren’t drunk then it wouldn’t have happened. Nick agrees that he doesn’t want there to be confusion between the two so they put the one night stand behind them. | ||||

Tierra's old friend, Brittany Sanders from high school, transfers to Du Bois and tries to become Tierra’s best friend and replace Kenya. After inviting Tierra and Kenya to a pool party at her cousin’s house, she texts Kenya the wrong address, sending her to a donut factory instead. Brittany then "accidentally" destroys Kenya's cell phone, and gets Kenya sick by giving her expired chocolates. Kenya realizes Brittany is up to something, but no one believes her since they think that Kenya is being "her usual paranoid self." When Tierra is not around, Brittany confesses to Kenya, that she is trying to push her out in the picture and regain Tierra as her one and only best friend, believing that Tierra will not believe anything bad said about Brittany, if Kenya was to tell. Kenya then asks David and her boyfriend Josh for help; David and Josh are being selected to embark on a semester long study-abroad cruise program given to them by the school, and although a great opportunity they decide to turn it down because they’d rather continue their college education at Du Bois with their friends so they purposely recommend Brittany for the program so she will go away. Shortly after Brittany is awarded with the cruise, Tierra overhears Brittany’s plans to destroy her and Kenya's friendship and abandons Brittany angrily. | ||||

Philly wants a lot of things for Christmas that he’s not able to get for himself. He decides to do secret Santa with his friends before Christmas break and rigs the drawing to where each of his friends pick him so he can definitely get his friends and drops subtle hints of what he wants. When they all wind up at the mall shopping on the same day for their secret Santa gifts, it is revealed to them that Philly is playing a trick on them and they all come up with a way to scam Philly. All of them play dumb to Philly showing him each of the gifts they received for their secret Santa to get his opinion and Philly panics when he sees his plan backfires and that none of them got the gifts he wanted and he realizes that when they exchange gifts in person he’ll be the only one to not give a gift to anyone so he hurriedly goes to all the stores to buy a gift for each of his eight friends so they won’t get completely mad at his scheme. On the day, they exchange gifts a stressed and guilt Philly owns up to his conniving plan and gives them all gifts he knows they have wanted for a while and they are all surprised and to return his deed, they give him the original gifts they purchased for him that he asked for and tell him they were onto his scheme and wanted to prove a point that Christmas time isn’t meant to con your friends out of gifts it’s meant to show your friends and family that you care and love them. All of their attempts fail, but Eric gets the idea to call up his cousin, Grammy winning recording artist and American Idol winner Fantasia to come and perform. Before she got back with them, they already told everybody that she would be there. On the night of the opening, the customers are anxiously waiting for the appearance of Fantasia when they get tired of waiting, right in the nick of time as everyone starts leaving Fantasia comes in from back singing and everyone is astounded. Josh and Kenya have been dating for almost a year and they are excited to meet each other’s parents and their parents meet each other as they visit Du Bois University for their Du Bois University Class of 1984 30 Year Class Reunion. When Kenya meets Josh’s parents, Scott and Regina Parker, they absolutely are fond of her and when Josh meets Kenya’s parents, Charles and Vanessa Fields, they become really fond of Josh as well. Later on, when the Parkers and Fields come face-to-face, the couples are immediately displeased at the sight of each other and become very mad. It turns out that they were rivals back in school and have never liked each other and when they find out that they’re children are dating the “enemies” child, they demand the two to stop dating and separate each other. Josh and Kenya are very, very confused and sad. Kenya’s parents explain to her that Vanessa hates Regina because Regina was chosen as captain of the majorette dance team “Ravishing Ramsettes” over her who worked harder for it. Josh’s parents explain to him that Scott hates Charles for putting him off the football team and becoming star quarterback after snitching about him taking steroids. Josh and Kenya secretly see each other throughout the weekend and they try to come up with a plan to get them on board so they lie to their parents and lock them in a room to talk about their problems. This plan doesn’t work and their children become very upset to the point where they don’t want to talk to them again and when the feuding alumni parents see their kids so upset they decide to let bygones be bygones and put away old drama from 30 years ago that doesn’t mean anything today and let their children be together. Because despite the issues between the parents, they see that the children were raised right and love each other and they remember how that felt so they decide continue to let them be together and agree to try tolerating each other. | ||||

The girls make the same bet when watching a movie called “Snakes on a Plane” and a terrified Kenya can no longer take it and hates their hissing sound the girls keep imitating, she bets them whoever uses the letter “s” first must walk around campus dressed as a deranged clown. Throughout the week, they try their hardest to not use the word but and they almost make the rest of the week without saying it until they all end up saying the same thing at the same time which means they all lost the bet. | ||||

David is excited to be apart of an organization full of brotherhood and devotion and serving others and also connecting with his brothers. Josh on the other hand is excited to be part of the organization but for other reasons that aren’t wholesome. He’s only looking forward to the parties, the game tailgates, and the notoriety. David along with Tierra and Kenya who are also apart of the Greek life, tell him it’s more about that. Josh listens but he still doesn’t tend to what they say, he only participates in the fun things but misses all the important things and he starts to change in a bad way and David doesn’t like it. Josh realizes that David was right when the chapter gets an award for service but they do not give Josh the credit for putting in the work and it makes him feel awful and left out and he apologizes to the chapter for not living up to the full name and swears he’ll do better. | ||||

In order to raise money to get an apartment next year and move off campus, Tierra and Kenya decide to get jobs decide to get jobs at a Victoria's Secret outlet in the mall. For their interview, Tammy, the manager, made them do mock shifts. She wanted to see how they would actually work in the field. Tierra and Kenya gave an excellent interview, while Laura (who’s one of the few white students at Du Bois also up for the job) didn't perform so well. Tierra and Kenya is shocked by the news because Laura got the job but they did not considering the performance of their interviews. Once Kenya and Tierra realize that while they were in the store and all the other times they shop at the outlet they aren't any black employees and there are very few black customers and they begin to think they didn't get the job because they’re black and Tammy is white. To be sure, they have Asia and Paige pretend to apply for a job, David dressed in a ridiculous disguise as a region manager to force her to give Asia and Paige an application, along with Laura having secret cameras in her clothes, with Eric, Philly, and Nick telling Laura what to say and what to do and Kenya and Tierra from outside making sure the operation goes smoothly. She records Tammy saying she doesn't hire black people and is fired. Tierra and Kenya are then given the job, under new management. | ||||

Eventually, Eric finds out and demands that the dog leaves but they convince him to letting them keep the dog until the owner is claimed and tries hiding it from the dorm director. So he gives them two weeks. During those two weeks while Eric gets attached to the dog, the others find out keeping a dog is a bigger responsibility than what they thought and they begin to grow tired of it. Tierra and Kenya offer a challenge –Simone and Jasmine get to pick someone from the audience to sing against them and if the person wins by a crowd vote then they have to babysit Asia, but if Simone and Jasmine win then they can make out with Josh (offered by Tierra, much to Kenya's dismay). They pick Paige (disguised as an ugly girl who doesn’t look like she can sing, planned by Kenya). Paige sings "We Found Love" by Rihanna and, meanwhile, removes her disguise. Josh is growing tired of not having a car to take Kenya on dates and feels embarrassed for asking for rides or always having to depend on Kenya to get a car. So, Josh collects enough money to buy a car for himself and the car he gets works for him but Kenya and the others are afraid to ride in it. The car is missing a lot of necessary parts like a back door and is over ten years old. Josh is happy to get a car and he decides to take Kenya out for the night and after the car breaks down while on the way to the restaurant, the car breaks down and they must walk to the restaurant in the rain until it’s fixed by the time they return. Luckily, the restaurant is a few blocks from where it stopped. When they leave the restaurant the car is fixed and they see some thieves getting ready to take off in his car and now it is stolen. Josh is very upset and so is Kenya, so they decide to get some ice cream to smooth things over until someone can pick them up when they finish with their ice cream, the police returns their car and they go back to campus. Josh apologizes for the awful night and Kenya is actually not mad anymore and sad she was glad to have laughed a lot and as long she spends time with Josh she’ll never be upset. In the end when Josh parks the car in front of Livingston Hall, the car breaks down again after they walk inside. | ||||

She finds a girl named Nia who is just like Nick in many ways and feels like they would be good together. When Nick gets to be in a contest to win $10,000, Nick announces that he and Kyla are back together right as Asia is about to introduce Nick to Nia. When Asia and Paige see this, Asia believes that Kyla is a gold digger and he doesn’t believe her. They come up with a scheme to dress David as a billionaire nerd to show Nick that Nia is only with him because of his money. When Nick realizes that she starts to flirt with David, Nick freaks out and he breaks up with Kyla and when he tries to get back with Nia she has already moved on to another guy and tells Asia to stay out of his love life, like Paige warned her. | ||||

In addition to the student body voting, the girls must past the pageant and out of all four contestants, Kenya’s biggest nemesis in the competition is Tiffany Howard from Washington D.C. and when Kenya feels like her odds of winning are getting slim because of Tiffany’s great performance she let’s the pageant and Tiffany’s sour attitude get the best of her and starts sabotaging Tiffany’s acts and trash-talking her and other contestants. When David and Josh who are hosting the pageant, Tierra who is Kenya’s beauty consultant, and Nick who is her campaign manager sees what she is doing they try to stop her so she won’t ruin her chances of winning, Kenya sees her wrong doings and apologizes to the girls and when she is crowned as Miss Du Bois, she makes a speech and admits all of her wrongs and feels very sorry for it and even though she did wrong things the judges and contestants appreciate her honesty and humility and see the love for her campus more than they see it in the other contestants and they decide to still crown her because they believe a true queen doesn’t hide her mistakes but just accepts them and turns them into promises. | ||||

When they realize that the both of them are on the date, they refuse to share so they try to compete and buy Travis’s love and he is completely unaware and when they grow tired of the games, the ask Travis straight up who does he want to be with and although he thinks they are both pretty and sweet girls but he’s not interested in him like that, he’s actually gay and interested in their friend Eric, who actually met Travis in the Ground for a date and when Eric arrives he teases them. | ||||

When he realizes that all his money is gone he realizes that the friends he "bought" are no longer there for him and he tries going back to his old friends who forgive him for acting like such a jerk. Eric admits that he was using the money to help him forget and get over his grandfather’s death but he realizes that it didn’t help at all and when he starts crying his friends are there to comfort him. | ||||

The Rams gang enters a battle of the bands contest being held on the beach and the winners get the chance to record a demo and $1,000 shopping spree. The girls enter and so do the guys but both groups decide to keep it a secret from the other group so they won’t try to enter and ruin their chance of getting the money. Throughout the week, both groups are being very suspicious and don’t suspect anything. The girls plan on performing “Tonight” by the hit 90’s R&B girl group, Xscape, while the guys perform “Poison” by the hit 90’s hip hop group, Bell Biv DeVoe. When the day of the competition arrives and the groups see each other, they are very surprised and get even more competitive but Kenya and Josh don’t want to compete because as boyfriend and girlfriend they don’t feel comfortable going against one another. So they come up with the plan to combine songs and they end up being crowned winner by rapper and actor Ice Cube a former member of 80s-90s hip hop/rap group N.W.A and Grammy-winning recording artist, Kelly Rowland, a former member of the very successful late 90’s-early 2000’s R&B girl group Destiny’s Child who hosted the event. Nick gets an overflow of money abruptly and everyone is curious to where it’s coming from. The truth is, Nick has been doing heavy gambling on basketball games and his wins turn out to be very high. He becomes the biggest gambler on campus and when a guy named CJ comes up to him with a very far-fetched bet Nick bets a huge gamble but being the great bidder he is, he isn’t afraid and doesn’t back down. When Nick loses the bet he tries to avoid CJ until he finds him and when he does he threatens to have the money within 24 hours or he will get shot. A terrified Nick gets the help of his friends and none of them have the money to spare and Nick is all of options and is afraid to tell his parents. When the 24 hours is up Nick doesn’t have the money but in the nick of time his friends come in with the money they’ve all collected and CJ leaves Nick alone. The gang then tells him about how dangerous gambling is and that it’s a habit he needs to break. Nick automatically takes heed to what they say. | ||||

In part one of the two-part season three finale of ‘’New Glasses’’, months have past and the Du Bois University’s tightest group of friends are at the tail end of the summer and they all meet up to embark on a Caribbean Cruise Getaway two weeks before they return to school. The cruise is mainly David’s idea because Tierra has always wanted to go on a cruise because they are very romantic. David believes he can get to Tierra and tell her how he feels about her. When everyone gets aboard the cruise ship, they all disperse and go their separate ways. While David tries making a move on Tierra, Kenya and Josh haven’t been on the best speaking terms through the summer and Eric is acting very awkward around everyone/ Later that night, while the cruise life is very quiet and most of the passengers are asleep, different members of the Du Bois crew leave their cabins and go to the deck to watch the ocean. One by one they all find themselves on a boat and as they are all once again arguing in the boat, Philly accidentally presses the button that will make the lifeboat take them from cruise ship sailing them in the ocean. They all start panicking and arguing again and things take a turn for the worse when a group of sharks show up around them about to eat Philly who can’t swim at all and has a great fear of sharks. | ||||

In part two of the two-part season three finale of ‘’New Glasses’’, after the Du Bois bunch goes on a cruise for relaxation, they find themselves drifting from the cruise ship onto a lifeboat in the middle of the ocean with sharks about to attack mainly targeting for Philly. As Philly is sinking in the ocean, his friends are trying their hardest to pull him back in the boat to save his life. When Philly is eventually rescued instead of thanking his family he yells at them for getting him in the situation making them argue again. Josh and Kenya, who have been very tense the whole trip, argue on which direction they should go in for land and the argument gets so heated they break up. David and Tierra try to maintain peace among them but they realize none of them are listening to what they have to say. Eventually, they find land and everyone is still arguing and David and Tierra decides to split the guys and girls into groups and finding things for shelter until someone gets them. In the groups, the Josh and the guys vent their problems to David while Kenya and the girls vent their problems to Tierra who aren’t really listening because of their own issues and they eventually meet in the center and all talk. Kenya and Josh reconcile and talk about their problems and eventually make up while Tierra and David talk for the first time all summer but still don’t admit they like each other especially after seeing the episode between Kenya and Josh. They then all find a way to get back to the cruise ship by finally working like a team and they get the idea to build a hot air balloon that will float them back on the cruise and indeed it does. They then all return on the ship with the captain and guests cheering and now they can enjoy the remainder of their summer vacation before they return to school. Unfortunately, Eric who has been acting very strange announces that he has decided to enlist in the United States Navy early and his departure date is during the cruise and that a helicopter will be coming to get him soon. He knew he would not be returning to Du Bois so he made the arrangement with his officers when he first heard about the cruise. His friends are deeply saddened but they still try to enjoy their final days of summer break before another semester and another year rolls around, and even more for Eric’s sake who will be leaving in a matter of days. ‘’’Note’’’: This episode marks the final appearance of main cast member, Eric Jamal Dexter (portrayed by Kasey Nation) until his guest appearance in season six, the final season. |

In the season four premiere of New Glasses, in conclusion to the season three finale, after bidding farewell to good friend, Eric Dexter as he took off in a helicopter to basic training as he enlists in the United States Army, summer vacation is coming to an end and the very adventurous near-death cruise is about to dock to port in Florida, and the well-known students of Du Bois University, Tierra James, David Armstrong, Kenya Fields, Josh Parker, Paige Roberts, Nick Shaw, Asia Clark, and Sidney "Philly" Williams, who voyaged on the cruise ship must retire and head back to school as the time for a new year approaches. The boat is getting ready to dock and soon their flight will be ready take off. David tries to get all his friends out the ship and on the plane before it's too late but it becomes much more of a challenge then he expects Todd doesn't want to leave because he is determined to win in the casino, Kenya doesn't want to leave because she wants to get the perfect cruise picture with Josh so she can frame it and has Tierra as the photographer because Eric who is a great photographer and was supposed to do it already left and so many things get in the way of getting her picture, Philly and Nick can't leave until they find Philly's gold chain, Asia and Paige doesn't want to leave because Asia wants to meet her favorite athlete and celebrity crush, NBA star, LeBron James who is also on the cruise and really wants an autograph and picture with him. Meanwhile, when David notices everyone else has help not getting off the boat he realizes he needs help to get them off the boat so he coincidentally runs into Dallas, Texas native, Omar Orlando Osborne and notices his Du Bois University shirt and thinks it's perfect for him to make friends since he will be boarding the plane with them as well to return to Du Bois as he is transferring into Du Bois a sophomore on a football scholarship majoring in Sports Management playing quarterback. Omar hesitantly decides to help but kind of worried for what he's getting himself into as David preps him to meet everyone. Omar does indeed help David into getting everyone off the boat and Omar becomes well-liked and well received by everyone especially Asia and Paige. Eventually, Tierra does take the perfect picture of Kenya and Josh, Philly and Nick finds the Philly's gold chain that Omar actually had found but that it was a gift from God because it fell from the sky, and Asia and Paige get the picture and autograph from LeBron James for Asia and even kisses Asia on the cheek in which she almost faints. In the end, they make their flight and safely and board the plane for Du Bois University. Summer vacation is over and the time for Du Bois University's students, teachers, faculty, and staff members to get back to work has arrived and after the Caribbean cruise that almost killed them, Du Bois Seniors Nick, Kenya, Josh, Tierra, and David who are very excited to graduate and finish strong from their beloved university, along with Du Bois Junior Philly, who is almost through but still has quite a way to go, and Du Bois Sophomores, Asia and Paige who have successfully survived and made it through their complicated first year of college, including Du Bois transferring sophomore, Omar Osborne, who is excited to start his new journey at Du Bois playing football but nervous for the new environment and adjustment all board the plane from the Florida port and heads to Du Bois where another year awaits. David and Tierra are sitting next to each other on the plane and finally talk more then they have the old summer and begin to reconnect. Unexpectedly, in the middle of a peaceful plane ride, they plane begins to shake and everyone believes they are about to crash into a fatal result, during the chaos, Tierra and David share a very passionate kiss an Tierra tells David she loves him so much and they continue kissing until the plane stops shaking and they eventually land safe back in Charleston. They arrive in Charleston to get settled into their living quarters for the year. Paige and Asia move into the co-ed dorm, Livingston Hall which is also where Omar is staying. Elsewhere, after staying on campus for quite some time, they believe they have outgrown the campus experience and move into the Kingsley Park apartments complex that is right near the campus. David and Josh get an apartment together while Tierra and Kenya get an apartment right across the hall from them and Philly and Nick get an apartment at the end of the hall near Tierra and Kenya, and David and Josh. David has been on cloud nine since Tierra has told her she loved him on the plane and Tierra has been feeling bad about it and regrets saying it but doesn't know how to say it to David. When David starts talking about them starting a relationship, Tierra stops him and telling she didn't mean it because she thought that they were about to die and she wasn't thinking straight and that she felt like she needed to say that but after thinking she realized she doesn't like David anymore in that way and that she thinks David should try to forget about her and although he is hurt, David understands and moves on. | ||||

It's halloween and to commemorate the fun holiday, Du Bois holds a Halloween costume party. David struggles with a costume idea, Tierra is determined to have the best make up for a costume, Kenya and Josh want to win the best couple award, Paige wants her costume to show off a statement, Nick tries to find the scariest costume possible, Asia keeps having to start over on her costume, Philly helps so much decorating the party that he forgets to have a costume while Omar isn't interested at all and comes as himself. At the party Asia is dressed as Foxy Brown and she meets Aaron who is dressed as Superman and she finds him very, very attractive and they spend the night talking and they agree to hang out the next day. Elsewhere, Josh mistakes another girl with the same costume as Kenya and kisses her and Kenya mistakes Josh for another guy with Josh's same costume and kisses him. Later on, when Asia meets up with Aaron she sees that he doesn't look the way he did at the party, as a matter of fact, he looked ten times more attractive in his costume than he does without it and Asia is very disappointed. Meanwhile, Josh and Kenya are on a date and the people they kissed see them and think they are cheating on each other and Josh and Kenya are mad that they both kissed someone else and didn't tell them but they realize they can't get mad since the both of them do it and decide to put it behind them. Asia has been really crushing hard on Omar since she first met him but feels like it's too many girls who wants him so she backs off when she starts thinking that Omar may have a crush on her she starts to be open with him. Omar starts bringing her around his football friends, taking her to parties, and hanging out with her more to get to know her and Asia feels very good about her future with Omar and feels like they might have a chance to be with each other. When Omar invites Asia to a date night with his friend football friend Chris and cheerleader Diamond. When Asia thinks that she's on double date with Omar it turns out that it was a set up to get Chris a date with Asia who he has had a crush on for a while and Diamond gets to date Omar who he has had a crush on for a while. Asia is very hurt when she sees these circumstances but doesn't show it and she gets irritated with Chris who offends her and storms out the restaurant and after Omar confronts Chris he then proceeds to console Asia but Asia doesn't admit her true feelings for Omar as he is comforting her. | ||||

After the current Student Government Association Executive President steps down, there is a need for a re-election and David decides to take the chance to run again after he was discouraged and afraid to the first time and Nick helps him in his campaign as his campaign manager. David tries going about things the ethical way and not bribing his way into office and when Nick sees that David's tactics aren't working, Nick tries to convince him to buy the student body's votes and David is completely against it. Nick becomes so reckless buying the votes for David with ridiculous promises and demands that the student body with the exception of their circle of friends begin to demand Nick as president and he gladly accepts to run while an upset David who feels betrayed by his best friend Nick, drops out of the race. Soon enough, when talking to the school's Board of Trustees about his future plans for the student body he doesn't know what to say and rambles some unimpressive motions off the top of his head and before he is sworn in and makes his speech, he admits that being the president is not for him and that he wants to pass it to David who really wants it and will really make a difference. David is surprised but indeed accepts Nick's offer and gives a great speech for what he can do for the student body and school and the students absolutely love it. David's friends congratulate him including Nick who apologizes for how he was acting and David thanks Nick for all has done and that he is very grateful to serve as the Du Bois University Student Government Association Executive President for the 2014-2015 academic school term. | ||||

Nick feels bad for not being apart of many organizations while at Du Bois as he is in his senior year so he decides to join the school newspaper "The Purple and White Printer" and open up an advice column called Ask Nicole as a convoluted scheme to get girls speaking from the perspective of a female. His plan doesn't last long when the guys are on to him especially Omar and Philly but instead of telling, they use it to their strengths and has Nick answer questions of girls for him. Nick gets all the emails but he makes them anonymous when he writes them back in the paper when he gets Tierra's message on needing help with guys approaching her and being straight up about liking her, he writes her back the advice and Nick uses the advice to his advantage to take his chance with being with Tierra who he has always had a secret thing for but just brushed it off for the sake of David but because David has yet to make a move he thinks it's time for a chance with Tierra. When originally planning to study, Tierra walks in Nick's apartment with a the indoor picnic she's always wanted and she is at first mad that he used her private messages to his advantage but finds it very sweet at the initiative. Finding out that he is Nicole doesn't surprise her one bit after the other sneaky things he's done but his motive was sweet and for the firs time ever, Tierra sees a side of Nick she's never seen before and that she never thought he had. They kiss to end the night and she returns to her apartment unsure of her feelings with a nosey David peeping out his door. | ||||

Kenya is living her dream serving as the 75th Miss Du Bois University for the 2014-2015 academic school term in the footsteps of her Aunt Tasha. She loves getting dolled up, she loves getting free things and most of all she loves serving the university that has always served her and is so dear to her heart. But she starts to miss the old life a little bit and becomes overwhelmed by the pressure of being perfect. While they are many things that Miss Du Bois University is granted there are a lot of things that she must not do and a lot of those things is what Kenya likes. When Kenya just wants a break from the queen things, she ditches her duties one weekend and lies about a family funeral but is caught with her boyfriend having drinks on the beach with a bikini on and drinking alcohol is a big no-no and is on the verge of having her crown removed. Because she is so scared and feels bad she calls her Aunt Tasha to vent and she completely understands her position. Aunt Tasha comes to Du Bois on the day of Kenya's crown removal to speak up on the injustice and that Kenya only wanted some free time for herself that was much needed. It turns out the head of royal court and student activities who is revoking Kenya as campus queen ran against Tasha for the crown but lost and she is taking it out on her niece. When Tasha reveals this to the board and the school and admits that other people have made mistakes far worse then Kenya but still kept their positions, they deliberate and realize that it's only fair that Kenya keeps her crown but that she doesn't lie about her whereabouts again and some of the restrictions against Miss Du Bois are re-appealed and Kenya gives a beautiful eloquent speech thanking everyone and promises she will do better. | ||||

Paige feels the need to change when she isn't named as one of the prettiest 100 girls (a sexist list made by guys)in the Du Bois University Class of 2017 Sophomore Class while Asia is in the top ten. Because of this insult, she starts to feel that she isn't as pretty as she thought she was and with the help of Asia, Kenya, and Tierra who all tell her she's very beautiful the way she is, they revamp her whole wardrobe, hair, and make up. Everyone is surprised when they see her looking very different and more eye-catching. She starts getting attention from guys which she loves but she soon realizes that they don't like her for who she is they just want to. The girls get the guys to step in to tell her that she looks ridiculous trying to be something that she's not and being old isn't something to be ashamed of but something she should embrace so she takes all the clothes back and goes back to her regular self embracing her natural beauty. | ||||

When Tierra hears that David and his grandmother, Carol, a Du Bois Alumna of 1952 share the same birthday and that David shared a close relationship with her when he was young and hasn't had the chance to see her since he's been in college, she thinks she has the perfect gift for him; to bring his grandmother to Du Bois, but she gets the flu and is unable to come to Du Bois. Later, the secret birthday party they threw for David became a disaster after David learned his grandmother had more than a flu and it got worse and his grandmother died on her and David's birthday. In the ending scene, Tierra goes to console a crying David who is devastated and heartbroken by hugging him and kissing him on the cheek in the rain. | ||||

Tierra has been battling with a very tough decision: where does her heart truly lie and for years she has been dealing with it and with college graduation only a few months ahead she feels as if it is time to make a decision. She is at a lost for a decision with both David and Nick wondering her next move and when she tells them to wait she lies down to sleep on it and is watching the Wizard of Oz. She falls asleep and finds herself in a dream where she dreams the Wizard of Oz but instead it's the Wizard of Du Bois where she is Dorothy Gail and the Du Bois Ram mascot, Ramsey, is ToTo. She proceeds to meet one of the munchkins who are Philly and Paige the Perfect Witch of the North just like Glenda the Good Witch of the North and she has crushed the evil wicked sister of the East and is trying to figure out who she should choose and Paige and Philly direct her to the wizard on the purple and white brick road. On the road, she meets Nick as the scarecrow, Josh as the tin-man, and David as the cowardly lion and though out the trip, Nick and David argue about where to go while Josh stays out of it and tries to direct them on where to go. Eventually, they get caught by Omar who is a flying monkey and take her to Asia, the Awful Witch of the West who is like the Wicked Witch of the West and she wants her sparkly heels just because and they escape without giving them up. Eventually they make it to see the Wizard of Du Bois who turns out to be Kenya because she is Miss Du Bois and is Tierra's best friend knowing for always giving her advice. When the wizard tells Tierra to follow her heart where it leads her she is still confused and wakes up to Nick and David asking about her choice and she avoids it by saying she has a class she's about to miss. | ||||

For the Christmas and New Year holidays the Du Bois crew decides to travel to a ski resort in the mountains of Denver, Colorado. On this ski trip a lot of events take place, a psychic tells Tierra that she will make a very important decision of her future and Tierra doesn't understand what she means. Meanwhile, Josh and Kenya meet this Swedish couple that they are excellent in ice-skating and being jealous Kenya tells them that she and Josh are reigning ice-skating champions back home so the other couple challenges them to compete in the ski resort ice-skating competition. Later on, Omar goes on a ski trail and when he falls and gets into a bad accident this girl named Anna takes her to his house that's near the resort and looks after him until he gets better. Elsewhere, while Paige is in the room she hears word of a murderer and believes it to be the manager. When she tries telling Asia, she doesn't believe her until she sees for herself and they are terrified. In the meantime, after sending mix signals to both David and Nick, Tierra is very unsure of he feelings for either one of them and she talks to Philly about it and he tries to help her decide. While waiting on Tierra's decision and pestering her about it, David and Nick give each other the cold shoulder until she approaches them and tells them she wants to talk to them later that night after Christmas dinner. After Christmas dinner, David and Nick head to meet Tierra at the fireplace still bickering over Tierra and when they are about to go talk to Tierra, they see her kissing Philly by the fireplace is in complete disbelief and shock. | ||||

After David, Tierra, Josh, Kenya, Nick, Paige, Philly, Asia, and Omar have traveled to Denver, Colorado to a ski resort during their Winter holiday vacation, they are faced with different obstacles. The most trying ordeal is when David and Nick are giving each other the cold shoulder because Tierra is choosing one of them and they catch her kissing Philly at the fireplace where they were supposed to meet her and talk about things. Tierra is very upset at herself for making matters worse and apologizes for leading them on and that now that she has kissed Philly she still doesn't know what to do. The guys become so upset a fight breaks out between the three. Tierra breaks it up and Nick gives Tierra the ultimatum that she must make her decision on who she wants before they leave the resort or else he will leave her as a friend and potential boyfriend and David and Philly agree. Meanwhile, Kenya and Josh must compete in a figure skating competition once Kenya becomes jealous of this Swedish couple figure-skaters. They work very hard to seem professional and to win and Josh is having a hard time just keeping his balance. Surprisingly, despite their struggles, they win the ice-skating competition backing up Kenya's trash talk and proving the ice-skating couple a thing or two. While in the room, Paige eavesdrops on the maid talking about the latest murder in the ski resort and she believes it was the manager. Paige has confirmation that this was true and when she tells Asia, she think she's being ridiculous but soon enough they believe him and try to catch the manager. When they catch him, they kidnap them and ties them up in the basement but luckily the cops comes in at the nick of time and arrests the manager. Further on, Omar was in a bad ski accident and gets rescued by this girl name Anna who takes care of him but starts to keep him hostage and won't let him go and he tries his best to get out by tricking her and his plan works. Tierra tries her hardest to get the guys to talk to her but they have been ignoring her throughout the whole trip. Tierra has a talk with the girls and they tell her that even though it's hard to follow her heart, do what's best for her. She thinks about it heavily and on New Years Eve before the countdown she gathers, David, Nick, and Philly and tells them that she loves them all very much and they mean a lot to her. She values each of their friendship more than anything which is why she chooses neither one of them because of what it might taint and how it might ruin things that are already good. It would be best for her to find someone she doesn't have history with and she tells them the same. Although a little disappointed and sad, they all understand and respect her decision and all make amends and become friends again right as the they transition from 2014 to 2015. After a fire burns down at the Ground, The Du Bois students hold a people auction to raise money in order to rebuild it. With Kenya as Miss Du Bois and David as the Student Government Association Executive President host the fundraiser. Josh, Omar, and Philly get auctioned to the fish-crazy wrestling team coach, and are forced to handle raw fish and cook it for him. Paige, Asia, and Tierra become Nick's personal cheerleaders, and they are told to "cheer his awesomeness", as in cheer for everything he does and if they don't he doesn't give his large amount of money that will help rebuild the Ground. His plan backfires when the girls decide to take him a bit too literally and start to cheer for his successes failures and embarrassments. Nick grows tired of it being humiliated so he gives them the money and the Ground is restored back to Du Bois. | ||||

Nick meets this beautiful and polite girl, Faith Peterson and really wants to be the first person she has sex with since she is a virgin and when she becomes very tempted she realizes her faith that she only wants to have sex unless she's married to a man of God. Nick goes to church with her very often and portrays the demeanor of a saved church boy and when Nick fakes propose, she tells him he needs to get baptized so Faith's father who is a preacher, baptizes him and gives him the blessing to marry her. When they go to the hotel room after their private wedding ceremony, Nick is rushing to have sex with Faith and when she pours her heart out about how much she loves him and that she's excited for a life with him and gives him a necklace from his grandfather, Nick feels guilty and can not go through with having sex with her when she finally becomes ready. He admits to her why he did what he did and apologizes and in turn she punches him unconscious with David, Josh, and Philly picking him up telling him he needs to stop taking advantage of girls because one day it's gonna turn around on him. | ||||

It's the season and semester for new pledges to be initiated and join the Black Greek culture and Du Bois University and becoming a part of the National Pan-Hellenic Council. Omar and Philly decide to join the oldest founded fraternity for and by Black men, Nu Phi Nu Fraternity, Incorporated where David and Josh crossed and became members of the Alpha Zeta Chapter at Du Bois in the previous year. Paige and Asia decide to join the oldest founded sorority founded for and by Black women, Beta Alpha Delta Sorority, Incorporated where Tierra and Kenya crossed and became members of the Sigma Lambda chapter on campus two years ago. David is the Dean of Pledges over their line while Josh is the Assistant Dean of Pledges. Tierra is the Dean of Pledges for the Beta Alpha Delta line while Kenya is one of members of the pledging committee. On the side of Nu Phi Nu, Omar and Philly expect to not have a difficult time because they are good friends with Josh and David but Josh proves them wrong when he gives them the hardest time while Tierra and Kenya show favoritism to Paige and Asia and leave them alone. David sees Josh taking it too far where not only are Omar and Philly are getting hurt but the entire line and if it gets too much the whole chapter can get suspended for hazing and David tries stopping Josh. The other members of the pledging committee for BAD give heat to Tierra and Kenya for not being forceful enough and feeling pressured from their sorors and not wanting to be viewed as weak they begin hazing Paige and Kenya. When the schools talk to both Dean of Pledges David and Tierra, about hazing and about the possibility of them being suspended. Tierra and David both bring it to their chapters and address it and demand it to stop. Josh personally apologizes to Omar and Philly for what he did but he wanted to show him that it takes a lot to join his frat. David reminds Josh that he didn't like being hazed and that the cycle needs to stop. Omar and Philly forgive him and understand why he did it and still remain his friend. Tierra and Kenya brings the subject to their sisters and their pledges and says that beating up on each other is not sisterly and that from this point on there will be no hazing and because the pledges stood tight and remain dedicated even through adversity they don't drop them and Tierra and Kenya personally apologize to Paige and Asia and they accept their apology and is happy to be their soror. In the end, Omar and Philly officially become members of the Alpha Zeta Chapter of Nu Phi Nu Fraternity, Incorporated while Paige and Asia officially become members of the Sigma Lambda chapter of Beta Alpha Delta Sorority, Incorporated. | ||||

Along the way, she discovers that Aunt Sylvia's restaurant reminded her of her dad's swinging nightclub in Harlem called "Swang". She always used to sing in the club but when she did get to make it big and when her father passed away and the club shut down, she gave up singing. David has the idea to turn Aunt Sylvia's into "Swang" back in the 1960's featuring jazzy performances from the whole cast. Eventually, Beverly performs, and brings the house down with Kenya, Tierra, Paige, and Asia on back up vocals, Nick on the drums, Josh, Omar, and David on trumpet, trombone, and saxophone while Philly plays the piano. Asia gets him out but when he tries to warn Asia about the fast-spreading rumor around school, Asia doesn't believe him and tells him never to speak to her again feeling offended that he would say that, but then Paige and Omar tell her they heard the very same rumors about her and Ty. Asia then enlists her friends to get the truth out into the open. A furious Nick and Philly threaten to hurt Ty if he doesn't admit the truth. Ty confesses but then pins the blame on his friend, Ray, for starting the rumors and Asia ends her relationship with him and thanks her friends for the help and apologizes to David for not believing him. | ||||

Omar and Philly have their own webcast, and they feature Paige and Nick on one of their episodes. After Paige and Nick argue about gender preferences, Omar and Philly ban them from being on their show again, but after the school newspaper praises the webcast with the two guests, they change their mind. Nick and Paige get their own segment called "He Says, She Says", and while Philly and Omar enjoy the boost in views, it leads to student disruption during school time, so Dr. Young cancels their show. A TV station producer later becomes interested after Paige sends him a copy of a webcast, which Omar made for her. Excited they will have an even greater audience, Philly and Omar find out instead that the producer is only interested in Paige and NIck's segment. Paige decides to use the platform to start a protest against Dr. Young's act of censorship, causing him to eventually back down and allowing Omar and Philly's webcast to resume. | ||||

Meanwhile, at the apartment, David is searching for some missing fertility pills for his neighbor's dog that he had to dog sit while she was out of town and when David notices that the pill bottle is strikingly similar to Josh's vitamins and that the bottle of pills for the dog is empty he begins to worry. Soon enough, after Kenya accuses Josh of fantasizing over another woman, David explains while he's been so sex hungry it's because of the fertility pills he was taking that he thought were his belonged to a dog's. | ||||

In order to get close and to kiss a really pretty girl, named Ashley, he auditions for the role in William Shakespeare's play The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet as Romeo so he can kiss her as she gets the role as Juliet and hopes to ask her out one day. Kenya is very upset that Ashley sabotaged Kenya to get the lead role instead of her so with the help of Tierra and Josh she subliminally tries to get Ashley out of the play. When Nick is in practice with Ashley and the kissing scene approaches he discovers that Ashley has foul breath. He avoids kissing her the first day but he has to find ways to get her breath to smell decent with the help of David, Philly, and Omar. They use countless attempts to try get her breath to smell refreshing and none of the attempts work. Luckily, because of putting peanuts in her dressing room before the performance, Kenya is cast as Juliet she is very happy but Paige and Asia remind them that Kenya and Nick must kiss if they are Romeo and Juliet and they are very disgusted by that, Josh tells Nick not to enjoy it and Nick guarantees to them he won't. After the kissing scene, both Kenya and Nick go backstage to throw up. | ||||

Within the recent years, there have been a series of unarmed black men being gunned down by white police for no reason and some even being killed and it hurts David, Josh, Nick, Philly, and Omar greatly and wish there was a change. Just recently, a Du Bois University student that is well-liked with a bright future who is almost on the verge of graduation, Zeke Stewart, gets shot down by white police after a concert. The students of Du Bois are deeply saddened and the guys have had absolutely had it because they feel Zeke didn't deserve that at all. The guys decide to host a march downtown up to City Hall and while Tierra, Kenya, Asia, and Paige, admire their spirit for change they try to discourage them from becoming like Zeke and understanding how they feel they still do it for Zeke and because it's right. When they are protesting and marching, their are policemen trying to stop them from pursuing their right of speech and when they tell them to leave, the guys do not cooperate so they pin them down on the ground and send them all to jail. When they end up in jail, the girls come to get them out and are frantic but are very proud of them and together when they return from campus they host an event spreading awareness of police brutality against black men and sometimes black women and that it must stop. | ||||

Finals are arriving and David is very stressed about them because he wants his GPA to be perfect so that he can get into the to Du Bois Law School. David has always been very serious about his grades and his friends tell him to not stress over finals so much because it's going to drive him crazy. David is so worried about his finals because he wants to become the Valedictorian for and if his grades drop that could be affected and there's one class that he is struggling with all year and that's Calculus I. He goes to great lengths to studying and through Nick and Philly's advice he starts taking caffeine pills so he won't lose sleep trying to study and smokes weed with Nick for the first time trying to get him to relax. When Josh catches him taking the caffeine pills and smoking a lot of weed on a regular basis he brings it to Tierra and Kenya and they bring it to Nick, Philly, Omar, Paige, and Asia and they all tell him saying that he should back off of them but he doesn't listen and that Nick and Philly didn't mean for him to be excessive. It gets to a point that when he aces his final he is still taking them and smoking weed because he has become addicted to it so much so that he falls asleep and almost misses the SGA and Royal Court farewell because he was up all night writing his farewell speech as the Executive President over the student body. When the ceremony is over, Josh suspects him acting very strange and confronts him about the pills in front of the others and he doesn't deny it. He cries about how he had to do it because he has to be perfect at everything he does and how he doesn't want to let his parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents down since he is almost a fourth generation Du Bois graduate. They assure him the only way to be perfect is to be imperfect because being perfect is impossible and that his family will be proud of him enough just for getting an education. | ||||

In part one of the two-part season four finale of New Glasses, the year is winding down and after studying hard and partying hard, the good times of the undergraduate college years are coming to an end as David, Tierra, Josh, Kenya, and Nick prepare to graduate with their bachelor's degrees from Du Bois University. Everyone is worried about their next step especially Nick, Tierra, and David. Nick gets word that he is not graduating because even though he had a successful senior year his other years were poor and he still has other credits to get. David who is the valedictorian struggles with his speech and is awaiting to hear back from Du Bois University School of Law to see if he was admitted and he finds out he is. Tierra, who is the class Salutatorian, has just been admitted into Tuskegee University's School of Veterinary Medicine but is afraid to leave her friends. Tierra has confided in Kenya about her decision to go but she still doesn't know until she talks to her best friend David who has been very hard to get a hold of. However, David has been hearing the rumor about Tierra going to Tuskegee before she can tell him and feeling hurt and angry when Tierra goes to him about the decision he bitterly tells her to go since she has already made up her mind. David goes days without talking to Tierra and on graduation day things are awkward. Nick is embarrassed to tell his friends that he isn't graduating and has to stay another school year, but his friends were expecting that because they know he goofed around a lot but encourage him to try better and he promises that he will. David gives a great valedictorian speech and Tierra gives a good Salutatorian speech. Finally, Du Bois University Class of 2015 Graduates, David Isaiah Armstrong receives his Bachelor's of Science degree in Political Science, Kenya Victoria Fields receives her Bachelor's of Arts degree in African American Studies. Tierra Shanae James receives her Bachelor's of Science degree in Animal Science, and Joshua Benjamin Parker receives his Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Management and all become alumni of Du Bois University. In the end, Tierra is about to leave Du Bois to head to Tuskegee University for Vet School pre-research program and everyone is there to say goodbye but David. | ||||

In part two of the two-part season four finale of New Glasses, after David, Tierra, Josh, and Kenya have graduated and received their degrees from Du Bois University, Tierra is getting ready to leave all of her friends behind at Du Bois to head to Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine, a goal of hers that she always wanted to accomplish and had planned to accomplish since she first enrolled in undergraduate at Du Bois. David is upset with Tierra for leaving so he doesn't say goodbye and once she leaves, the guys come fussing at David for how he's acting and that he didn't tell Tierra goodbye. David was too mad at her and the guys inform him that Tierra hadn't already made her decision to go. David's opinion could have changed that because she values it the most but because of how he reacted she went ahead and left. David admits that he heard a rumor about her going and in the midst of their conversation, Tierra accidentally connects to David's laptop for video chat while on the plane to Tuskegee, and hears David admit how wrong he is and that after all the times they have tried being friends while in school, David admits that he is still madly in love with her despite denying it and that she wishes she would come back so he can be with her. Tierra hears this and begins crying and hangs up. David gets the idea to head to Tuskegee University to tell Tierra how she feels and when he arrives to Tuskegee to find Tierra, Tierra arrives back at Du Bois to find David to tell him about her feelings. Tierra looks for David and everyone tells her that David is in Tuskegee so she returns back to Tuskegee to get him. David discovers the same and he discovers the same thing so he heads back to Du Bois to talk to Tierra. They try to clarify their locations but misinterpret their conversations. David ends up back at Du Bois where Tierra is no longer there and Tierra ends up back at Tuskegee where David is no longer there. When they finally talk, they find the situation funny and they admit they love each other very much and still like each other and they want to be together. They try to have a long-distance relationship and it turns out to cause more problems then before. While video-chatting, they realize that they are both too busy in school with David in Law School and Tierra in Vet School, and it is too many technical errors for them to communicate on a regular basis and Tierra thinks that with everything they have been through, even though they are madly in love with each other that maybe the complications and situation they're in is a sign that is finally telling them they are not meant to be with each other and strongly encourage them to move on. David painfully accepts this truth and wishes Tierra well in her endeavors and says goodbye to her until the next time they see each other and reminds Tierra that he'll always be here for her. Tiera says the same thing and kisses David through his laptop screen and closes it out. In the season five premiere of New Glasses, the 2015-2016 Academic school term has arrived at Du Bois University and it's students and new faculty are in full swing to get started. Now graduates of Du Bois University, David Armstrong, Josh Parker, and Kenya Fields have received positions of the Du Bois University Faculty and Staff. David with his degree in Political Science minoring in sociology has received a position working as in the Admissions Office as an Admission Counselor while pursuing a law degree at Du Bois University School of Law. Josh with his degree in Business Management minoring in finance and great money skills, has gotten a position working in the Financial Aid Office as Financial Aid Advisor while he tries to pursue a Master's in Business Administration. Kenya with her degree in African American Studies and experience as being Miss Du Bois in her senior year, has gotten a job as the Assistant Director of Student Activities and is looking for a roommate in her apartment since Tierra left to attend Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine to help out with rent. Elsewhere, Paige Roberts, Asia Clark, and Omar Osborne have returned to complete their Junior Year and are RA's in the co-ed dorm, Livingston Hall. In addition, Sidney "Philly" Williams is ready to take on his senior year and graduate while Nick Shaw is preparing himself to tackle another year than expected after finding out he wouldn't graduate on time like he thought hw would. Much to everyone's surprise and David's displeasure as David is still sad over Tierra leaving, his ex-girlfriend Makayla Hamilton arrives at Du Bois with news that after graduating from Georgia A&M University with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology in the past semester, when the others graduated from Du Bois, she will now be attending the Du Bois University School of Medicine because they were the only school to offer her the most money in scholarships. David is very upset because he doesn't want Makayla in his life at this time, when she tells confesses that she is living with her cousin and needs her own place, Josh volunteers his girlfriend Kenya's vacant apartment space and Kenya hesitantly allows her to move in. When Nick hosts a welcome back party at his apartment and invites all of the bunch including Makayla which David is upset about and at the party David is drinking heavy to vent out his problems and when Makayla takes David to his apartment for them to talk about his problems David admits that he has actually missed Makayla and he starts to kiss her and Makayla stops him but he continues and so does she. An hour later, when David and Makayla are nowhere to be found, Kenya and Josh are looking for them and walk in on them having sex and everyone screams at the scene. Later on, after the chaos and after David and Makayla's run-in has been spread, David comes to Makayla apologizing and said that he didn't mean to take advantage of her and send mix signals he just wanted something to ease his mind from Tierra. Makayla understands and accepts his apology and agree that after years of not speaking to each other they agree that she should try to be friends if there gonna be around each other more. After Dr. Young retires as Du Bois University School President, Dr. Henry Burkes is assigned as the new President and Du Bois University Faculty members and alumni such as David, Josh, and Kenya give him a warm welcome. Dr. Burkes already begins to make changes on campus and one in particular that has the campus in an uproar: closing down the Ground on budget cuts and distraction to students. David, Josh, and Kenya try talking him out of his decision but his mind is already made up and they ban together with the help of Nick, Philly, Paige, Asia, Omar, and Makayla to save the Ground while Mr. Joe who owns the Ground has already given up. They all sign a petition to save it and on the day that is about to be bulldozed, they stand around the establishment tied to it with other students demanding they don't leave it and all explain how it's the heart of campus and it's the place that brings the Rams Family together and it has been the best thing to happen since it first opened 40 years ago. Dr. Burkes then realizes that he misinterpreted the budget so he apologizes and allows The Ground to stay in business. Mr. Joe is overjoyed and thanks everyone for their help and offers them free meals. | ||||

Now graduated with careers, Josh thinks it's time for him and Kenya to tie the knot as they have been together for almost three years and love each other very much. Meanwhile, ever since she arrived to Du Bois Makayla has been feeling very weird and when Kenya suggests that Makayla could be pregnant she laughs at the thought because she hasn't had sex with anyone until Kenya reminds she reminds her that it has only been two weeks since she and David has had sex. Makayla is afraid that she's right but still takes the pregnancy test and is shocked to find out that she is indeed pregnant but struggles with how to tell her ex-boyfriend and new found friend, David who is trying to focus in Law School and while she is trying to focus in Medical School. Josh struggles with asking Kenya for her hand in marriage. Whenever he tries to sit down and talk with her, he is interrupted. Makayla bakes a cake for David as a token for their friendship and David senses something is wrong because when they dated, Makayla always baked him a chocolate cake to break bad his news and make him feel better. Makayla calmly reveals that she's pregnant with his child and David denies it until Makayla reminds him of their unprotected sexual episode a few weeks prior. David tells Makayla that he doesn't want or have time for a child right now and neither does Makayla but it's the price she has to pay. When Makayla feels that David doesn't want to have anything to do with Makayla and the baby and when he suggests her getting an abortion, she is very hurt and offended and tells him she doesn't want him in her and the baby's life. Josh decides to orchestrate an Engagement Party in The Ground and Asia and Paige finally get Kenya to arrive and is wondering what's going on and when Josh comes out one knee asking for a hand in marriage, Kenya tearfully accepts his proposal and is over the moon that he finally asked her to marry him and loves what he did. When David gets up to make his toast and speech, he sees Makayla who is there and has he is referencing the great future Kenya and Josh will have, he says he's ready to have a great future with his friend Makayla, as they expect a baby. The audience applaudes David and Makayla is very shocked but happy at the news. David tells Makayla that he thought heavy about it and realized he is not the kind of man to take care of his responsibilities and their new baby is just one more and that he can't live with himself knowing that he has helped create a life but not being there to raise it. Makayla is very happy and they agree to help each other as much as they can. In the end, Asia, Omar, Nick, Paige, and Philly are excited for the news and future milestones in their friends life as Kenya and Josh prepare for a wedding and as David and Makayla prepare for a baby. | ||||

Omar is very stressed and has a lot of pressure on him as the big homecoming game against South Carolina State University and as head quarterback, he has different teammates coming at ways for them to win. When there is only nine seconds left in the game and when Du Bois needs five points to win the game, Omar is given the ball and he doesn't know who to throw it at or to run the ball to the end zone and when he decides to run it he is tackled and loses the game. The school is very upset that they lost the game and everyone except his friends blame Omar for ruining the game and talking trash about him. Omar feels so defeated and hurt by losing, he decides to give up football on together because he feels that he's not good at it like he thought he is. His friends try to encourage him to continue his dreams but he doesn't listen. Josh's cousin famous retired NFL Cornerback, Deion Sanders, who played for Omar's favorite team Dallas Cowboys and is one of Omar's favorite players is in town for a charity fundraiser and Josh gets Deion to talk to Omar and when Josh brings Omar to the Du Bois football stadium to see Deion there he is absolutely stunned and Deion comes to tell him that he has seen his tapes and is highly impressed and has come to tell him to not give up. Deion tells him the greatest football players are the ones that gets their team to lose. Because their comeback and determination to win is incomparable and will make them better. Omar takes the advice from one of his favorite NFL players and decides to continue playing football they then run drills and play catch with the football. When their flights are cancelled to going home for Thanksgiving, Nick, Asia, Omar, Paige, and Philly, are invited over David, Josh, Kenya, and Makayla's place for Thanksgiving dinner where a very stressed Josh and Kenya are overwhelmed with the task of fixing the biggest meal of their life for nine people and get into an argument. David is very irritated having to go in and out of the rain to get supplies for the meal. The guests are very hungry and have been doing nothing but complaining and trying to sneak and pick at the food. Makayla is tasked with serving food at the Homeless Shelter but someone has stolen all the food and now their are left with nothing to serve. Makayla brings the matter to David, Kenya, and Josh and when they see how desperate she needs help, they decide to give all the food they prepared to the homeless shelter and serve it to them. Makayla is very happy for her friends being so generous and so are the homeless. | ||||

For the Christmas holidays, a stressed David just wants to relax and not be bothered for the Christmas holidays with all the demands on him and she asks his friends to do the same but they don't listen to him and it angers him so much especially when they try to have a Christmas Party in his apartment and breaks an vase from his late grandfather who died ten years ago on Christmas and that he wishes that he had a different set of friends who's more calm and quiet and reserve during the holidays. His wish comes true when he wakes up on Christmas Eve morning and she sees his grandfather, Theodore Armstrong, they are his guardian angel. At first he likes his new life and his new friends but soon realizes that it's not all that it's cracked up to be. He starts wishing for his old life again explains to his dearly departed grandfather that he's never been able to celebrate the Holidays like most people do since his grandfather passed and with it being a decade he doesn't know how to deal with it. He explains to him that he needs to take advantage of the friends he has there with him and that they love him very much to take his mind off of the people he lost. And that they're always there by him side. David understands this and when he wakes up on Christmas morning, everything is back to normal and he apologizes to his friends for his attitude. | ||||

Paige's final project for her art class is to make a sculpture and choses to use Asia as her model. Asia is shocked about her sister's sculpture of her in a bad way: an abstract piece, which blends the real Asia with an Asian bird, creating a head with an enormous beak. Asia thinks Paige is making fun of her, which breaks Paige's heart. When Asia shows the sculpture to Omar, though, she accidentally destroys it, leading her to actually become Paige's sculpture at her art gallery. With the help of Omar, Asia tries her best to remain quiet and immovable like a real sculpture until Paige gets her grade from teacher but it becomes very difficult. Paige is constantly looking at her sculpture, and Asia tries hard not to blink. When Omar feeds a starving Asia, a spicy piece of shrimp, she tries to not react to the after taste but she resists, breaks character and makes a scene out of the whole gallery. When Asia explains to her why she did it, Paige is actually quite flattered that Asia did all that to help Paige and Paige explains that she wasn't making fun of her, the sculpture represented her being as beautiful and strong as an asian bird. The sculpture was in admiration to her best friend because she loves her so much and is inspired by her. Asia is touched by this and appreciates the sculpture. | ||||

Josh helps Kenya get her new brass headboard up for her bed before they go to work. Josh persuades Kenya to have sex with him before her important presentation and to try out their new headboard and after trying to resist she falls for it. When they are in the midst of making love, Kenya winds up getting her head stuck in the headboard and not being able to get out. A panicking Josh and Kenya do not know what to do and have tried multiple methods of getting the headboard off. David, Makayla, Nick, and Philly arrive to help and they laugh and record Kenya and help Josh with getting the headboard from around Kenya's head before her presentation. Nick uses his blowtorch to get most of it off but it still won't do. Paige, Omar, and Asia are at the meeting helping set up Kenya's presentation wondering where she is and tries their hardest to stall until Kenya arrives. Makayla gets the idea of Kenya wearing a big ridiculous wig to cover up for her. Kenya ends up making a fool of herself during her presentation and when her wig comes off, Omar, Asia, and Paige try to explain but the donor commends Kenya's confidence and grit and grants her the funding for the Student Activities Program. He then gives her the number to a welder because he and his wife had the same problem with the same headboard. | ||||

Nick needs a date to the upcoming Du Bois Black Academic Black Tie Gala, he wants to take Tiffany, a beautiful, smart, high class senior who is Nick's lab partner. Paige and Asia's soror and line sister, Jennifer really likes Nick but he only likes her as a friend and barely that. All out of options, Nick decides to take Jennifer but then Tiffany eventually accepts Nick's invitation only to make her boyfriend, Brandon, jealous who will also be attending the Gala. Nick is so overjoyed that he is taking Tiffany, he completely forgets about Jennifer and on the night of the banquet he is trying to juggle two dates at once. In the end, Tiffany goes back to Brandon and Jennifer finds someone who's actually interested in her leaving Nick alone for the rest of the night sharing a drink with Philly. | ||||

They have all the letters except for the "A" so they get it from a little boy, but he says that Paige must kiss him, and he has to be invited to the Drake concert. In the end, Drake performs his hit single "Hotline Bling" when they have the private concert with David, Makayla, Josh and Kenya invited and locks the little boy outside the house during the concert, but Melanie, who, feeling sympathy for him, offers him to kiss her, to which he replies "gross" and promptly leaves. With David and Makayla arriving, everyone realizes that the baby is need of a nursery. With them living in apartments it is hard having a place for the baby to stay. Even though they did a good job at making the little bedroom they want something much better and more suitable for an infant. When out of options, Josh and Kenya make it known that since they are getting married and will be moving in a house couple of months before Makayla has the baby, they can turn Josh's room in David's apartment into a room for the baby or vice versa in Makayla's and Kenya's apartment. Melanie suggest just transforming her room into a nursery for the baby since when she and Todd get married they plan on moving out and also because Todd has been sleeping in Melanie's room since they've been engaged. They agree with this idea and start planning for Baby Armstrong. | ||||

After constant flirting and spending more time with each other Omar finally works up the nerve to ask Paige on a date, and she accepts while Asia tries to deal with it after previously having feelings for Omar. Omar hasn't been on a date in a while and he really doesn't want to mess up with Paige, so the guys prep him while Paige is under the same predicament and her friends Kenya, Makayla and a very reluctant Asia help and prep her. From etiquette to attire they do everything they can do to make sure they are ready for the date. On the night for the date, everyone hypes Paige and Omar up as they send them off and they decide to go to the restaurant to spy on them and make sure it goes smooth. They go to an expensive restaurant and Paige and Omar are very anxious and nervous so the date is very awkward and it doesn't get better when Philly, Asia, Nick, Makayla, David, Kenya, and Josh keep pulling them aside to tell them what they're doing wrong. Paige and Omar then agree to sneak out the restaurant and do something they actually want to do without their three spies watching them. When the sneak off they go miniature golfing and go out for ice cream and really enjoy it with the others looking for them. When they return home laughing and giggling, they are very upset because they ruined their date and Paige and Omar sarcastically apologizes and tells them they were out having a real date and that they enjoyed it. The others are surprised to hear this but are very happy that they are happy including Asia who pulls them aside and admits how at first she didn't like it but she's glad to see her two best friends happy as ever. | ||||

The Du Bois gang decides to visit the new African American History exhibit in the Charleston Museum of History. The find themselves in the exhibit seeing old pictures, old newspaper articles and many sculptures and artifacts. Nick and Philly aren't the most excited about it and feels as if staying in the past won't help solve any problems of the future and in the present. When they are are in an 1966 simulator, the others try to tell Philly and Nick about the importance of their history and in the simulator the gang is taken to Charleston, South Carolina of 1966, fifty years ago where things are much different. The gang panics when they realize what has happened and try to find ways to get back. When they are at Du Bois they are surprised to see how different and old it is and when they try finding their way, they get caught in many riots and marches. They all try their hardest to escape from the chaos so they go to the Charleston Museum of History to go back to the simulator. They find troubles when the guard doesn't grant them access because they are "colored" so they distract him and find a way to sneak in the museum to only discover that the African American exhibit is no longer there and they have realized they are stuck in 1966 with no way of getting out and then the security guards catch them in the museum and try running after them. | ||||

After visiting the new African American History Exhibit in the Charleston Museum of History, Nick and Philly don't accept or understand the importance of learning their history and while in a 1966 simulator, they travel back in time to 1966 Charleston, South Carolina where there is much racism and turmoil and when they try to go back to the exhibit simulator they notice it is not there leaving them stuck in the 1960's. When they are caught by the security guards for sneaking in, they out run and hide from them so they will not catch him and as they return to Du Bois they try to find ways to get back to where they belong and no one will help them because when they tell someone what has happened they don't believe him. They also try to go places and do the things in which they usually do but face many struggles as that being black they are not allowed in certain places while whites are and they grow tired from the prejudice and decide to make a change. They decide to attend a protest downtown like they read about in their history books and museums and when they police try to stop them at the front, they refuse and David goes to the steps of city hall and recites the infamous "I Have a Dream" speech by the late Civil Rights Activist Martin Luther King, Jr. and everyone cheers and hugs each other, Nick and Philly then tell everyone it feels good to make a change and that it's important be a part of history. After they say that, they are all brought back to present day-Charleston in the African American History Exhibit right where they were before and they also see pictures of themselves at the protest. They are very glad to be back but will never forget the experience and will forever be inspired by it to bring about it change and furthermore, they all have grown a higher appreciation of those who paved the way for them. | ||||

Asia is the first friend of a new exchange student Ahmad. He offers her a feather, which she accepts confusedly. After spending some time getting acquainted with Asia's friends, he gives her a seashell. Paige thinks it's a crush —- and she is right, as the exchange student then sends her a beautiful dress. She puts it on -- against her best friend and cousin’s wishes-- and goes to a party at the embassy with the invitation from the dress. Kenya, though, soon discovers that Asia has inadvertently accepted a marriage proposal from the Ahmad who is an actual Prince of his country, Marwaka (a fictional African nation). Omar and Paige must go undercover as dancers to stop the ceremony. When they tell Asia of what’s going on Asia tells Ahmad she finds him very sweet and it was the best any guy has ever treated her. She’s just not ready to be married yet and hopes one day he’ll find his true queen. Ahmad is upset but accepts this and agrees to be friends with her. | ||||

Nick sells Philly a "fada model #115" radio for $5 and a coupon for a free taco. Paige discovers that the radio is worth $10,000 and Philly plans to give the radio back to Nick. When Nick discovers the value of the radio, he yells at Philly for not giving it back to him, even though she was planning to give it back. This makes him mad and he decides not to give the radio back. Their argument quickly expands to include the rest of the gang, who argue. Omar, Asia, Makayla, Josh, think that Philly should keep the radio, while Paige, David, and Kenya think that Philly should return the radio to Nick. At the end of the episode, Nick's grandfather takes the radio back after he too finds out its value. | ||||

Paige's buys her boyfriend Omar, a Foosball machine for his birthday, something he has always wanted. When Philly beats Omar in a round, he plays him again and he still comes out as the victor. Then he later plays a round against, Paige, Nick, David, Kenya, Asia, and Josh who he all defeats and when he defeats them all he gets besides himself and starts getting a big head. They all try playing him again and he still beats them. After growing tired of Omar's gloating, they realize one person hasn’t played and recalling her talk about how good she is at the game, they all beg a very pregnant Makayla, who has been avoiding playing Foosball machine ever since an incident in middle school when became addicted to it. Initially, Makayla continues to not play against Omar but she decides to play him because she grows tired of Omar's attitude as well. When she does this, Omar defeats her at first but then Makayla asks for a rematch and she completely mops Omar who is left shocked. | ||||

Campus heartthrob Derek Wright, enlists the help of Asia to help him pass World History who is the top student of their class and is need of a tutor. Asia accepts the offer to tutor him mainly because she finds him very attractive and uses the opportunity to get close to him. When they first tutor together one night, Derek can’t keep his eyes off Asia and she tries to not get distracted and kisses him but she stops and leaves. The next day, when they study for a test they have, in the midst of studying Derek admits he is very attracted to Asia and wants to have sex with her immediately a nervous Asia doesn’t know how to respond so she denies him at first and he refuses and continues to touch her uncomfortably and Asia begins to feel scared. Eventually, Asia kicks him and flees from him scared and terrified. Everyone begins to question why Asia has been acting so weird and she doesn’t make it known. Later on, David and Josh overhear a conversation Derek is having with his friends about how he scored one with Asia and when they confront Asia she admits that he molested her but she stopped him before he could rape her. They comfort Asia and so does the others who witness the scene and tell her that is wasn’t her fault for being used and they’re going to do everything to make Derek get what he deserves. | ||||

David decides to host a game night inviting all his friends. He has a series of games set for the night and the idea is to just have a last hangout quiet night in the apartment before Josh and Kenya get married, David and Makayla have their baby, and Nick and Philly graduate. but this quiet night in the apartment turns into the loudest event in the entire building, the guys become upset when they realize the girls are winning so during the break they all decide to seek that opportunity to cheat and switch out the game cards. And the girls decide to switch up the game throwing the guys off. This prompts more competition and it upsets David because they're letting a small game get the best of them and come in between their relationships. They all realize that David is right so they decide to throw the game but they start arguing on who should throw the game: the guys or the girls. | ||||

As the wedding between Kenya and Josh is weeks away, as the co-best man Josh’s older half-brother, Justin Davis who goes to school in Detroit, comes into town to host the bachelor party with David and at the bachelor party a drunken Justin reveals to Josh that he recalls having the best sex of his life with Kenya back during one summer just as Kenya pops–out of the cake in a surprise. Kenya and Josh argue over Justin's revelation, while Josh argues with Justin and questions their brotherhood and also questions if he wants to marry Kenya resulting Josh to cancel the wedding, until David and Nick tell Kenya that Josh hasn't always done the "one-man show" and reveals one of his liasons during their freshman year before they got together that Kenya didn’t know about. Kenya contacts Monique Ross, who has graduated from Du Bois and who had a quick fling with Josh one year before she and Josh started their relationship, to confront him. Kenya and Josh finally sit down and talk realize that the past is the past for the reason. Kenya explains that it happened the summer before she and Josh got together and had no idea they were brothers and that it didn't mean anything. Justin and Kenya both apologize to Josh for keeping such a big secret from him like that for all those years. Josh accepts and when he realizes that despite all of that, he still loves Kenya and still believes that she is right woman for him, he resumes the wedding and he makes amends with his brother Justin with him remaining as the co-best man with David. | ||||

Graduation has rolled around for Nick and Philly and they are both very excited to be getting their degrees. Nick especially who has been working harder than he ever has as he had to stay in school one more year. On the morning of graduation before the evening, Nick’s parents come to town and reward him with a brand new sports car because of how hard he worked and he wants to take it for a spin with Philly and Philly tells him to wait until graduation is over but Nick can’t help himself so he and Philly drive around the town a few hours before they have to get ready for the ceremony. Nick becomes so distracted and happy about his new car that his careless driving gets the two in a car wreck and Philly is left pretty banged up clinging on to dear life. Nick panics and calls the ambulance and David, Makayla, Josh, Kenya, Paige, Omar, and Asia rush to the hospital to see how Philly is doing. Nick feels really bad for getting Philly hurt and Philly is unresponsive and just wants to wake him up before graduation. Everyone agrees that it’s Nick’s fault but that he shouldn’t worry about it just worry about Philly getting better. With three hours until graduation, Nick is worried and prays that Philly will be okay and after he prays Philly wakes up and Nick tries his best to let the doctors release Philly for the ceremony. They decide that since Philly only broke his leg they will escort them to the graduation and will have a team there in case and will bring Philly right back to the hospital to continue recovery. Everyone is overjoyed and although Philly isn’t graduating how he thought he forgives Nick for what he did and is just glad to walk across the stage with his best friend. In the end, Du Bois University Class of 2016 graduates, Nicholas Dwayne Shaw receives his Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Mass Communications and Sidney Morgan Williams receives his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering making Nick and Philly both first generation college graduates. | ||||

Makayla and David are only three months away from meeting their surprise bundle of joy and as Makayla is entering her third trimester the doctor advises her to settle down and David tries to tell her the same thing but Makayla always on the move and hates not doing anything, she doesn’t obey the doctor’s orders and surprisingly goes into labor while helping Kenya with her wedding plans. Kenya rushes Makayla to the hospital and David eventually rushes in behind them along with Josh, Paige, Omar, Asia, Nick, and Philly. David is panicking more than everyone while Makayla is trying to keep calm in a very hard situation. The doctor warns David and Makayla of possible complications with delivering the baby since Makayla is only six months pregnant and the baby will be premature since all of it’s organs haven’t developed. Everyone tries to keep the new parents calm while they worry of the fate of their child and watching the baby’s monitor as the heart rate continues to go down they decide to do a C-section to save the baby’s life. The doctors take Makayla to the delivery room while an anxious and scary David awaits while the others try to guess what the baby will be. Soon enough, David is relieved and quite emotional and overwhelmed when he hears a baby crying and realizes that it’s his baby. David walks in the delivery room to see Makayla give birth to a beautiful baby girl. David and Makayla become very overjoyed with tears and the doctors say the labor was a success but being that the baby is premature, she will need to stay in NICU until it gets better. Soon enough, their friends enter and are all in awe and touched at the sight of David and Makayla’s beautiful daughter and when they ask what they are going to name her David says that her name is Destiny Michelle Armstrong. Destiny coming from her birth and starting with a D like David’s name and Michelle coming from a variation of Makayla’s name. Makayla likes the name and agrees they should name her that. David and Makayla then name Josh and Kenya as Destiny’s godparents and they gladly accept the offer. | ||||

In part one of the two-part season five finale of ‘’New Glasses’’, the big weekend has finally arrived after months of planning and worrying: Josh and Kenya's wedding. Josh is trying to relax while Kenya can't concentrate at all on one thing. On the eve of their wedding which is the rehearsal, everything is getting prepared Josh just wants to spend some alone quiet time with his wife-to-be but Kenya and is always to pre-occupied. Later, they finally get a moment's piece at the rehearsal dinner. It is also during this time during the rehearsal dinner where Josh hears his older sister Monica on the phone arguing with her ex-husband about letting her son meet his new girlfriend and gets so upset with him that she doesn't realize what she is saying and tells Josh that he and Kenya are way in over their heads and that marriage ruins everything. On the day of the wedding, Josh continues calling Kenya so they can talk about something serious but she doesn't answer the phone. Josh begins to feel weird about the whole thing but he still goes through with the wedding. When the wedding begins and it's time for the vow exchange, Josh runs out the church leaving Kenya at the altar. | ||||

In part two of the two-part season five finale of ‘’New Glasses’’, the long-awaited wedding day between Josh and Kenya has arrived but it's nothing of what was expected. Right before the vow exchange, Josh gets nervous, stops thinking and runs out of the church and Kenya is left heartbroken ending the entire wedding. Josh is later found in the church elevator but it's stuck and by the time David and Nick come to get him out the entire wedding has ended. When he goes to the apartment to find her, everyone is upset with him and they don't let him in her room reluctantly lets him come in but it does nothing so she tells him that she never wants to see him again. Monica later admits to Kenya that the reason that Josh probably ran out on her is because something she didn't mean to say to Josh the night before the wedding. Kenya is even more upset but she tries to forget about everything as she still decides to travel to the Bahamas for what was supposed to be her honeymoon between them two but she still goes to clear her head. Surprisingly, Josh follows her because he wanted to clear his head as well. Kenya is highly upset that Josh is there but Josh is actually happy to see her. And because of the honeymoon, they are forced to sleep in the same bed. Throughout the entire trip, Kenya pays Josh no attention until he sets up a romantic dinner on the beach apologizing for everything and asking for her hand in marriage again. Kenya ponders over it but she decides to try to give it a try once again. In the end, Kenya and Josh marry on the beach in the Bahamas and they have a re-do wedding and reception back at Du Bois with all their friends and family. ‘’’Note’’’: This episode marks the final appearance of main cast member Sidney "Philly" Morgan Williams (portrayed by Moses Mason) until his guest appearance in season six, the final season. |

In the season six premiere of ‘’New Glasses’’, the final season of the series, life is taking a different swing in many different ways in these young adults lives. After Joshua Benjamin Parker has now married the love of his life and college sweetheart, Kenya Victoria Fields who is now Kenya Parker and they move in to a new house and try to adjust married life. David Armstrong and Makayla Hamilton are trying to get adjusted to the parental life as they try to co-parent in the same apartment after having a premature delivery to their daughter, Destiny Michelle Armstrong. Recent Du Bois graduate, Nicholas Shaw has reluctantly accepted a temporary position teaching First Year Experience for Freshman while he gets his Master’s degree. Asia Clark, Paige Roberts, and Omar Osborne are very excited to start their senior year at Du Bois and is determined to make the best of it. Because Kenya has gotten an apartment with Josh and because Makayla moved in David’s apartment to be with Destiny, Paige and Asia move in Kenya and Makayla’s old apartment and Omar moves in Nick’s apartment because Philly has graduated and has moved out to work for NASA in Chicago to help Nick pay the rent. Elsewhere, Du Bois University Freshmen Winter Rain North from Los Angeles, California majoring in English Literature and Quincy Lewis McBride from Charlotte, North Carolina majoring in Music arrive and get acquainted to college life as another school year has dawned and are both students in Nick’s First Year Experience Class and both give him a hard time. Winter is very prissy, spoiled, and privileged coming from a wealthy family and is racially mixed. Quincy is in the marching band, the Roaring Rhythmic Rams that plays the bass drum and is very immature, energetic and big-talker who tries to pursue Winter but she is not interested in him. Winter is staying in Ingram Hall while Quincy is staying in Pruitt Hall. Josh and Kenya realize compromising in major when they both argue over the sides of which bed to sleep on and both of them go to bed miserable when they sleep in different positions. Asia grows tried of Omar always over the apartment with Paige and always in her space and even having sex and disturbing her so much and after trying to keep cool, Asia addresses it to both Omar and Paige and they apologize and promises that they will try to be better. Makayla is struggling with the baby and is going through Postpartum depression and tries to explain it to David who doesn’t understand until one night Makayla abandons him and goes out for a breather and explains that she needed it and he understands that it’s hard and that he’ll try harder. Eventually, Josh and Kenya grow tired of their petty actions so they talk about them and make a compromise of their marriage. Nick assigns Winter and Quincy their first project together and when Winter objects it Nick tries to tell Winter to give it a chance and in college she’ll be surprised with the people who helped her get to where she will be and that she should just try to get to know him and be friends with him instead of just always shutting him down. Lately in the news, NFL star Colin Kaepernick of the San Francisco 49ers, has been kneeling during the National Anthem during games to protest the injustices of young black men being killed and wounded by white police representing that no one is really “free” in this free country. Admiring one of his all-time favorite NFL players, Du Bois University’s star football player, Omar does the same thing during one of the games to protest his same beliefs as Kaepernick and to spread awareness. Some of his team players join him but his coach is furious with him and after the game he fusses at Omar who is team captain about his behavior and how it impacts the rest of the team, the coach and the school and demands him not to do it again. When Kaepernick is rumored to be getting suspended from the team, Omar is very upset because he feels Kaepernick should not be punished for doing what he feels is right and so for the next game, Omar can’t help himself but to kneel during the national anthem again and when his coach tries benching him, the other teammates, cheerleaders, band, opposing team, and everyone in the stands kneel and beg to let Omar play and the coach decides to let him play and not face any punishment for kneeling. | ||||

Quincy plays the bass drum in the Du Bois University marching band, Roaring Rhythmic Rams in which he is a second generation band member and whose uncle served as the band director several years back, he is very excited to march with the band because it is his lifelong dream and always worked very hard for it. Quincy’s excitement doesn’t sit well with the head drum majors, Jordan and Emmitt, who purposely torture him and give him a harder time than they do the others because of Quincy’s confidence and smart tongue. However, Quincy takes the punishment so he can be considered a real and true Roaring Rhythmic Ram and has to go through the “crab” process until the last home game. Quincy who is suffering keeps it from his friend Winter and his teacher Nick notices and tells the others but when he asks Quincy he denies it. Later on, while Quincy is crabbing he is sent to the hospital after passing out and Kenya, Nick, Winter, and the band director, Dr. Andrews talk to him and try to get him to talk about what happened and when he is afraid to, he indeed opens up and Dr. Andrews promises nothing bad will happen. When Quincy returns days later to band practice, when Jordan and Emmitt approach Quincy, Dr. Andrews stops them and talks to the whole band about the crab process and that it must come to an end because it’s hurting the band and it’s sound | ||||

Giving David and Makayla a break from nursing their two-month-old baby girl, Destiny, Josh, Kenya, Nick, Omar, Paige, and Asia agree to baby-sit Destiny while they both go out to relax and get their minds off the baby. Everyone takes shifts, and when it’s time for Nick to take a shift he takes Destiny to the park and notices a beautiful woman named Trina who is in the park with her nephew. They talk exchange conversation and gets so distracted that Nick accidentally takes home the wrong baby. Both babies have the same stroller and when he goes back to the apartment, Asia and Paige notice that Nick brought home the wrong baby when about to change the diaper. Everyone freaks out and panics and when Nick tries to make contact with Trina he realizes she gave him the wrong number because she wasn’t interested. Meanwhile, Kenya has been acting really strange around Josh and Josh doesn’t know why but he knows something is up. Everyone tries coming up with ways to find Destiny and Quincy and Winter get involved when they show up to Nicks apartment to turn in their papers. They all head to the park to try to see if Trina returned but she hasn’t. Elsewhere, while David and Makayla are trying to enjoy a day without the baby by doing non-romantic things since they are just friends, everything Makayla sees and hears reminds her of her daughter Destiny and David continues to bring her back to reality. All out of options and after searching all day, Nick and the gang decides they should just tell David and Makayla what happened and try to fix the problem. When they arrive at the jazz club restaurant, David and Makayla are dining at they spot Trina as well with Destiny but try to distract David and Makayla from seeing that. Makayla wants to see Destiny immediately and Quincy and Winter try to distract them with the live music and in the midst of that Nick and the others make the baby exchange successful with David and Makayla having no idea what happened. The two parents thank them all for stepping in and helping out and when they suggest doing it again all of them immediately deny the offer. In the end, when they return back home, Josh and Kenya are preparing to go to sleep after a long stressful day and when Josh tells him that watching Destiny gave him a glimpse of being a parent and that he can’t wait for the day to come, Kenya reveals to him the day of him being a parent is soon arriving because she is pregnant. Josh is more than thrilled to hear this news and so is Kenya who had been holding it in for a long time and was afraid of her husband’s reaction. | ||||

Winter and Quincy are assigned to deliver toys to the local orphan shelter for Christmas, as part as a community service project for Nick’s class, an initiative created by Kenya. Winter does not want to do it but David informs her it’s half of her final grade for Nick’s class. When Winter’s parents tell her, that she won’t be able to spend Christmas with them and that she’ll have to spend it with her aunt and uncle in Charleston because they have an important business trip, Winter is very sad and gets to the point where she doesn’t want to celebrate Christmas and when she is at the orphanage with everyone she gets an attitude and abandons the children. Later that evening, Winter goes to bed annoyed and when she tries to go to bed she is awoken by Omar, Paige, and Asia who are the Ghosts of Christmas Pasts and they show her how she used to love Christmas in her younger years and they show her when it changed. Winter sees that for the past few years, she has never celebrated a regular Christmas because her parents would always be busy for work and she has resented the holiday ever since. Winter ignores them and tries going back to sleep and when she wakes up again, Nick, Quincy, and Makayla are the Ghosts of Christmas Present and show Winter how her childhood has affected her and that being in college she really hoped to come home to have a normal Christmas with her family and because she can’t she lashes out on others. Winter continues to not budge and when she tries going to sleep, David, Josh, and Kenya wake her up as the Ghosts of Christmas Future showing her that if she continues to be the way she is she will be old and alone and Winter realizes she doesn’t want that. The next day, Winter wakes up with a brand new attitude and goes out to get brand new toys for the orphans and delivers them as Santa Claus. Everyone is pleased at Winter’s change of heart and Nick rewards her with an A. In the end, Winter gets a call from her parents that she can come home for Christmas because they postponed their business trip until after the holidays to spend time with Winter as she comes home from college and Winter is very happy with this news. | ||||

The more they co-parent, the more David feels as if he is falling back in love with his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child, Makayla but avoids telling her and tries to forget about it and not let it be. David struggles with forgetting about his feelings when he meets Terrence Brooks, Makayla’s charming, handsome, and intelligent new suitor who is much like David except and has just received his masters degree in Chemistry and works in a very advanced chemistry lab. Makayla gets a strong liking towards him and David tries to tolerate him as well. David and Terrence begin to get along just fine until he starts seeing Terrence and Makayla kiss and hug and talk about and do things they used to do together and David’s feelings toward Terrence gets worse when he sees Terrence playing with his daughter Destiny and sees that Destiny enjoys it. David then goes out his way to make a fool of himself to over-do things that Terrence does so that he may impress Makayla but Makayla gets tired of their nonsense. Makayla tells David that Terrence is a great guy who could never replace his role as Destiny’s father and Makayla’s best friend and that he doesn’t have to worry about losing Makayla as long as they have Destiny. She reminds him of the deal they made to co-parent and be friends but date and see each other and David still adheres to that and doesn’t admit his feelings and apologizes for being so childish. Terrence and David make amends and Terrence continues to date Makayla while David remains single watching them. | ||||

Omar is charged with the task to write an essay for Founder’s Day on how the school was founded and how it impacts him as an extra credit grade. Omar really doesn’t want to do it and struggles to write it but David and Paige keep trying to push him. When Omar continues to try writing it he falls asleep at his computer and he dreams that he is Civil Rights Activist, author, and sociologist W.E.B. Du Bois, the founder of Du Bois University setting out to create a school for ex-slaves during the Reconstruction Era to get a chance at a valuable education. Though he finds hardships in this and denial from many people until he gets the help from David, Josh, Kenya, Makayla, Nick, Paige, Asia, Winter, and Quincy who in his dream acts as former slaves and educators helping him create the school and sees a big impact in the community. Omar awakes and has a great idea for his presentation and when he presents his paper to his class, he discusses how the founding of Du Bois makes him appreciate and value his education much more as a black man who is the descendant of slaves who weren’t granted a chance at education. Omar is then rewarded by his teacher an A and gets to present his speech at the Founder’s Day Celebration. | ||||

David gets frustrated when his friends keep using their phones at every turn, so he challenges them to go one week without using modern-day technology. After Asia and Winter go crazy without their cell phone, the guys realize the ladies might make them lose the bet, so they turn it into a boys vs. girls challenge. Kenya, Makayla, and Paige have to restrain Asia and Winter from using their phone, and they know winning will be very hard, so they try to trick the boys into losing the bet. However, it is unsuccessful. At their next group hangout, David gets angry at everyone and tells them to take their phones if they want to. The girls turn theirs on and the boys told them it was a trick and they lost the bet. David said he was helping the boys all along because he is a guy and wanted his gender to win. As the boys shout and dance in victory, the girls realize how popular they were when seeing how many messages and followers they got while they went without the internet happily. And Destiny ends up damaging David’s phone because of his bet. | ||||

Du Bois University gets a new special student, new-to-the-scene star rapper, Chance the Rapper on campus, and all the girls are going crazy over him except Asia who has been always a big fan of his since he started out years ago in Chicago and has ever since then had a big crush on him. He is welcomed to campus and introduced by Du Bois faculty members, David, Kenya, Josh, and Nick and they all try to make sure he has a normal life. The celebrity takes a lot of classes with Asia and sets his eyes on her and the more she resists the more he persists. He finds it attractive how Asia is all about her school and not flaunting herself over him. When Asia reminds Chance, that she was at all of his local performances in Chicago way back when he was just starting to rap and always promoted him and when Chance asks her on a date and she reluctantly says yes and while on the date she admits that it's a dream come true and the best time she ever had. Asia starts to like Chance more because of who he is and how he actually has depth underneath all of what the media has to say and Chance admits that he is falling very hard for Asia and has never felt that way about any girl. They agree to keep seeing each other and become a couple, and Asia starts to like being in the limelight but eventually the attention and fame get to her head when she realizes someone is always watching and waiting for her every move and misses having a life to herself. She comes to terms with herself and reluctantly and hesitantly breaks up with Chance because the celebrity life is too much for her, even though she really does like him and she's never had a boyfriend like him before. Chance is saddened by this but completely understands and lets her be free but they agree to remain friends after he gives a concert to the students in which he performs a song he wrote just for Asia. In a hurry and without paying close attention, Nick and David accidentally grab the wrong ultrasound. Instead of taking Kenya’s ultrasound, they grab the one filed under Kendra Parker, who is having triplets thinking the file name said Kenya Parker. In the end, Josh can't keep the secret so he blurts it out and Kenya finds it ridiculous and makes note of the ultrasound mix up so she returns it to the doctor. In the end, Josh dresses up as Josh's mother wanting to know the gender of the baby and as the doctor is about to reveal it, the episode fades to black. | ||||

Nick goes to an old artifact shop and gets an old hourglass that is supposed to be magic and grants any wish but Nick believes it doesn’t work but still gets it for decoration. Elsewhere, for Paige’s psychology class she struggles with a research topic for her final grade and her boyfriend Omar and best friend try to help her but nothing works. Meanwhile, David and Makayla are having trouble in their parenting, work life, friendship, and love life and can’t agree on anything while Josh and Kenya are having trouble trying to keep the romance in their marriage with a baby on the way. When the single parents and the married expecting parents come over to help Nick clean up they both get to arguing and when they all try cleaning the hourglass and shaking it the women tell the men they wish they knew what it was like to be in their body and then men agree and when they say these words: David is trapped in Makayla’s body, Makayla is trapped in David's body, Josh is trapped inside Kenya's body, and Kenya is trapped in Josh’s body. All of them panic and Nick tells them that his prize might have made them switch bodies. They all try to find ways for the wish to be erased but they can't find anything. They agree to not let anyone else know so they won't think they're crazy. When Nick goes back to the arcade store with his four body-switched friends, an employee tells him that there is nothing he can do meaning the wish is permanent. | ||||

After David, Makayla, Josh, and Kenya accidentally wish to switch bodies with each other thanks to Nick’s novelty hourglass, they realize that they are stuck in each others bodies forever. So they try to make the best of it. Asia, Paige, Omar, Winter, and Quincy starts to see them act strange to see what is going on. Paige who is trying to come up with research for her senior Psychology research project, decides to do her study on the dynamic and the mindset of single co-parents like David and Makayla and married expecting parents like Kenya and Josh to see if they are both the same and have the same impact on the child. So she enlists the help of them and interviews them and studies their dynamic and they try to act as normal as possible without Paige or anyone else catching on. When the two body switched adult couples see how great the other person's life is they agree to not try to fix it but after a couple days David realizes how truly difficult it is to be in medical school, working as a lab assistant, breastfeeding a seven month old, and dating while Makayla sees how difficult it is to be in law school, working in a college admissions office, and trying to look after a baby girl alone on some nights. Josh realizes how truly difficult it is to be six months pregnant with a full-time job and Kenya realizes how truly difficult it is to be the husband of a hormonal six-month pregnant wife while working in a Financial Aid office with sometimes rude students and trying to get together a nursery for a baby. So they beg Nick to find a way to get switch them back together. So Nick and with the help of Paige who makes a breakthrough in her project they try hardest to find solutions to get them back. Nick and Paige sit down and get the idea to talk to each other about how they took their lives for granted and understand how hard it is, the wished is reverse and they return back to their original selves. Nick then throws the hourglass away in the Du Bois dumpster and when it falls out Winter and Quincy pass the dumpster arguing about the hourglass and when Nick sees them about to turn it he panics and stops it and breaks the hourglass preventing them from switching bodies. | ||||

David is up for the esteemed award as Du Bois University’s Faculty Member of the Year, and he is almost certain that he is going to receive the award this year because in the past year he's done a lot for the school as far as recruiting and getting students to attend Du Bois and helping them navigate while they are enrolled. On the night of the award banquet and as Kenya who is the presenter is about to announce the award recipient, she says "David," David jumps out of his seat and is instantly thrilled because he has finally won. He made an unusual speech because a lot was going through his head but then Kenya informs David that he didn't win. Before, David jumped up Kenya didn’t have a chance to say the last name of the award recipient and it wasn’t Armstrong, it was David Washington. David was embarrassed and disappointed but he gave the plaque to David Washington, the real winner and he and the others leave the banquet. Ever since the banquet, David has been a sad sack, very depressed and not interacting with anyone so to help him out of his funk, his friends and his favorite students Winter and Quincy put together a "Man of the Year" ceremony honoring David as a father, a friend, a counselor/mentor, and an all around great person. David is very touched by this and he happily accepts the award and the kind gesture from his friends. | ||||

Paige is befriended by Tori, a new student, when meeting her eating lunch inside a bathroom stall. Tori, however, keeps disappearing around everyone else, making the Du Bois University students think that Paige is losing her mind. Tori turns out to be crazy. She runs away at lunchtime, stays away from class, gives Paige a creepy doll that resembles her, and impersonates a Chinese food delivery lady. Tori also dumps noodles on Paige's head. Paige talks to Omar and Asia about the problem, and they plan on calling the police. When Paige tries to get a can of juice, Tori grabs her, and then tells the truth – that her real name is Victoria Everheart, and before Omar dated Paige, Omar was about to start dating Tori until he fell for Paige and Tori plans to get her revenge from Paige from stealing her first and only love and plans on getting him back. Once the police arrive and apprehend Tori, Omar recognizes her and says that Paige isn’t the reason why they didn’t work out, he didn’t like her at all because she was crazy and when Omar kept trying to be nice and let her slide she would just get crazier and crazier until he had to get away and tried his hardest to forget about it. She is arrested and taken away. During the final 30 seconds, Paige, Omar, and Asia get a drive from campus back to Du Bois by a police officer, who, when the camera zooms into her face, is revealed to be Tori! | ||||

Makayla and Winter are the hostess and per Kenya’s request, they invite all the rich people that Kenya truthfully hates to the shower because they will give her really nice gifts for the baby and for herself. The baby shower goes all wrong when a hypnotized Asia who under Paige’s hypnotic spell for a psychology class must tell the truth about everyone and she starts blurting out what her cousin Kenya really thinks about the ladies at the baby shower after overhearing Kenya's comments about them earlier that week during the planning. In the end, Kenya is left with no gifts for her baby whom is only two months away from arriving. | ||||

Winter is in trouble when her parents discovers that she's purchased a $327,000 car without her parents permission. That's when Mr. and Mrs. North steps in and takes control. They take away Winter’s valuables, closes her bank account, and cuts her credit card in half. When Quincy, Nick, and her student mentor Asia see that Winter is in desperate need of help, they get the help from the others as well. Omar does Winter's laundry, Asia helps her with her hair, Quincy types out her report, Makayla shows her how to clean up her room, Nick teaches her and the class on money management skills, Josh who is her Financial Aid Advisor watches her spending and helps her on how to spend less money on things, Paige shows Winter fun things to do that don’t require a whole of money, and Kenya shows her to make real easy and simple snacks when she gets hungry in the dorm and when the Ground is closed but doesn’t have any money to spend anywhere else, and David tries to talk to her about why she uses money so much but in the end after weeks of catering to Winter, David catches Winter in the bank withdrawing money and he discovers her bank account has been re-opened and that she had just been making everyone do things for her just because. David exposes her to everyone else and forces her to pay them back not through money but through chores. | ||||

Nick's 24th birthday is coming up and after Nick gave Asia a great birthday present she feels that she should return the favor especially finding out he has never had a birthday party before she is determined to plan the perfect surprise birthday party. Nick continues to hint what he wants for his surprise birthday party that he isn't supposed to know about. Asia also wants to take him to see one of his favorite rappers, Big Sean but all the tickets to his concert are sold out. Asia is having trouble planning Nick's party because everyone denies her invitation and help when her and Nick’s friends, and Nick’s students express their different issues with Nick and tell them they won't feel comfortable at his party. On the night of Nick’s birthday, Asia feels very guilty for not throwing Nick the best party ever and when he comes to his apartment and sees that only Asia is there to surprise him he gets very mad and decides to go down to the Ground for a bite to eat and to confront some of his "so-called friends." When they walk in the front door, the lights are off and when they turn them on all of Nick's personal clothes friends and family pop up and surprise him for his birthday. Nick and Asia are completely surprised with this stunt and they tell him they did this because Nick would've never seen it coming. Also in the end, Big Sean comes out on stage and performs his hit single "Bounce Back" for his biggest fan Nick's birthday, arranged by David. Quincy and Winter look at an old Du Bois University yearbook in class and they wonder what Du Bois students will think of them. It gives Nick an idea to put together a time capsule, and makes it a class project. He then decides to branch off the time capsule to not just his students but his friends who are still in college, Omar, Asia, and Paige and to his friends that are Du Bois Alumni and in graduate school, Josh, Kenya, David, and Makayla. Everyone will put an item that best represents them into the capsule. Makayla decides to make a DVD about her life at Du Bois School of Medicine and coming from another school and has Quincy and Winter record it for the capsule. After she tells David about her video and possibly mentioning him in it, he becomes desperate to know what she said about him and will go to any lengths to find out. After it is dugged and buried, David gets the help from Omar and Quincy to dig it out and hide it from Nick who will be upset when he sees what they did with his class project assignment. In the middle of the night in the rain, the three men get it out and when David returns to his apartment to get ready to listen to it, he feels guilty and puts the time capsule back in the dug hole with Omar and Quincy in the night rain with Nick eventually finding out. Makayla later decides she will let him know what she said in 10 years and David who really harbors his true feelings for her has trouble with not knowing what she said. | ||||

After the popular Du Bois students, alumni, and teaches are seen talking, Shereé Bennett offers them a TV show about student life at Historically Black colleges. For their longing desire to be on TV, Asia, Nick, and Winter are excited and say yes before anyone else could say their opinions. They all then discuss the reality show in the Ground. The next day they start filming, and they say that they all love each other but they all say something rude about something or somebody else. Shereé edits their slots making it look they hate each other and also downing their university and misrepresenting it. They go to Kingsley Apartments basement where there are no cameras to follow them and hatch a plan and decide to be nice but also steal all their footage and upload it to the internet of Shereé being rude to them. This plan does indeed work and David’s neighbor vicious cat frightens them away. In the end, the show is off the air and they return to their normal lives. | ||||

David and Makayla decide to host a barbecue with a lot of changes coming up. Nick's plan to take Omar's to the strip club as a graduation present and sets off sparks among the young adults and ignites a full-blown battle of the sexes, more specifically between Omar and Paige, Kenya and Josh, Winter and Quincy and Asia and Nick and a small heated conversation between David and Makayla during a nice friendly barbecue. While the men consider the striptease "traditional," the women call it "archaic, demeaning and stupid." But by the time the battle wanes and the smoke clears, its participants are back on one accord again. David claims that the couples reconciliation was because of his secret barbecue sauce. | ||||

In the one-hour series finale of ‘’New Glasses’’, the 2016-2017 academic school year at Du Bois University is coming to an end and as everyone is stressed with all the end of year preparations, stress comes from other places in many people’s lives. Destiny breaks David’s glasses that he has had for six years since he first came to Du Bois and he has slight trouble seeing without them while playing with her so he tries to find some new ones. Josh and Kenya are anxiously expecting the arrival of their baby and Kenya keeps trying to induce labor and has been having frequent false alarms. Nick sent in an audition tape for this new panel talk show called “Black Only” talking about various issues faced in the black community especially in the 18-30 age range while also giving advice to those and he is nervous to hear back from them and if he gets his dream job of being on TV how will he break the news to everyone that he is leaving. Makayla has been dating Terrence Brooks for a long time now and they have fallen madly in love which greatly bothers David who has fallen back in love with his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child Makayla but hasn’t made it known yet. Terrence who trusts David and considers him to be a great friend informs him that he plans on sending Makayla on a trip with him to London and plans on proposing to her. David is very uncomfortable and doesn’t know what to tell Terrence without being straight up so when he doesn’t know what to say Terrence takes his shock as support. When Makayla tells David she’s going to London for two weeks with Terrence, David continuously tries to discourage her from going with unnecessary excuses that don’t convince Makayla and still refuses to tell her how he feels and Makayla doesn’t budge and indeed plans to go. Elsewhere, Omar, Paige, and Asia are all preparing to graduate and get their degrees from Du Bois University but neither of them know what the future holds. Omar is a draft pick for his home team and favorite NFL Team the Dallas Cowboys with a one million dollar advance to his contract and Paige is conflicted as to going with her boyfriend in Dallas as he pursues his dreams whom she loves very much or staying and going to graduate school like she’s always planned and Asia is afraid to leave college and her best friends because she doesn’t want to start all over again making new friends. With freshman, Winter and Quincy about to conclude their year, Quincy gets word from Josh who is his Financial Aid Advisor that he may not be able to return to Du Bois in the fall because of his remaining balance to the school that he cannot pay and when he tells Winter this she is very devastated especially because she has started to fall for Quincy and see the good in him despite they may be completely different and she really wants to be with him. Meanwhile, Kenya’s old friend and first college roommate, Raven Nicole Turner returns to Du Bois as she was offered to be the new assistant head cheerleading coach after once cheering for Du Bois as a freshman and sophomore then cheering for NFL football team, Baltimore Ravens, a dream of hers but when her contract didn’t renew for the new season and after having issues with the teammates she wants to return to get her education and help the team. Everyone is excited to see Raven especially Kenya while others such as Omar, Paige, Asia, Winter, and Quincy have never met her. Eric Jamal Dexter also returns as he is on leave from the military to take Asia’s graduation pictures. Eric was Nick’s roommate their freshman year and was a very good friend to David, Josh, Kenya, and especially Raven and Nick despite Nick’s feelings about homosexuality because Eric is gay. Eric left Du Bois after his junior year to join the United States Army and is new to Omar, Winter, and Quincy. He helps Asia in her decision making while Raven helps Paige in hers while at the same time Eric and Raven rekindling their friendship. Sidney Morgan Williams known as Philly returns to Du Bois to celebrate his friends Omar, Paige, and Asia graduating after he left the previous year when he graduated from Du Bois and went on to pursue a career at NASA and helps Omar in his decision making in playing professional football and is also very happy to see his best friend and former college roommate Nick while new faces Winter and Quincy meet him. Kenya and Raven’s former college roommate and old friend Tierra Shanae James returns who is also a very good friend of David who they used to have feelings for and was the reason why David and Makayla broke up initially during sophomore year. She graduated from Du Bois University in 2016 with David, Josh, and Kenya and ventures off to Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine and left returns because of Kenya’s birth and meets Winter and Quincy and reconnects with David who is very surprised to see her while Makayla isn’t that pleased to see her and is shocked to see David and Makayla with a child together. Because of Quincy’s situation, Winter gives him the money for his remaining balance in order for him to return to Du Bois and he gives it to Josh and grants his return for the next year. When they are moving out, Winter goes to Quincy to tell him bye and her true feelings and when Winter walks in his dorm he sees Quincy’s girlfriend from home who he broke up with before he came to Du Bois but to Winter’s surprise hasn’t gotten back together. When Quincy is about to go home, he graciously thanks Winter for the money and says will pay her back and Winter says he doesn’t have to. They hug and say and their goodbyes without Winter telling Quincy how she feels but seconds later Quincy comes back in and kisses Winter passionately and tells her that she’ll see him in the fall and a mesmerized Winter tells him the same thing. Nick has received word from “Black Only” saying that he has been chosen as one of the co-panelists and that he leaves for Los Angeles in a week to start filming, everyone is very happy for him finally living his dream but sad that he must leave. Graduation day has arrived and although very excited, Omar, Paige, and Asia still have an unsettling mood. Eventually, Asia Christina Clark becomes a Du Bois University Class of 2017 graduate with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Fashion Design and Marketing, Omar Orlando Osborne becomes a Du Bois University Class of 2017 graduate with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Sports Management, and Paige Yvette Roberts becomes a Du Bois University Class of 2017 graduate with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology. And at the end of the graduation, Asia confesses that she has a job to be a fashion consultant for Black Vogue Magazine based in New York, and Paige decides to follow Omar to Dallas to play football and will enroll in graduate school their because her dream is Omar and she wants to be with him living his dream. During the graduation, Kenya goes into labor and when trying to get the hospital, traffic is backed up due to graduation and when they are in Nick’s truck, David and Makayla have to deliver Josh and Kenya’s baby with the doctor on the phone and the baby is breeched in the back of the trunk. Josh tries to calm Kenya down the best way he can so the breeched baby can be delivered successfully and smoothly by the time they arrive to the hospital Josh and Kenya has given birth to a healthy and handsome baby boy who they name Kendrick David Parker. Kendrick is play on the name of Kenya and named after their favorite rapper Kendrick Lamar and the middle name David comes from Josh and Kenya’s best friend David who is also named as Kendrick’s godfather, while Makayla and Tierra are named as Kendrick’s co-god mothers. After Kenya has the baby, Makayla leaves for the airport for London to meet Terrence. Tierra then comes to David’s apartment to return his jacket and they talk about all of what they’ve gone through and finally sit down to catch up and talk about what happened and when David tells Tierra about his feelings for Makayla and how he feels it’s too late, Tierra tells him to not make the same mistake go get Makayla and stop her from getting on the plane and tell her how he feels. As David is about to leave, he notices that his package in which holds his new glasses has arrived that he ordered in that his daughter Destiny broke his old pair and when he puts them on he says to himself he finally can see much better. David then rushes to the airport to catch Makayla before she gets on the plane and professes his love for her and that he can’t let her slip out his life again especially being the only woman he has truly loved now more than ever because they share a life and in the middle of travelers he gets down on one knee and asks for Makayla’s hand in marriage and she tearfully accepts his proposal. They then kiss and when Makayla tells David that she likes his new glasses a whole lot and that it was time to get some new ones he replies and tells her that he hopes these new glasses give him a new different vision on his life, after he says this and they kiss in the airport the series fades to black. The last ending scene as the credits roll is the entire New Glasses current and old cast members giving a a message to all the fans expressing their love for them and their gratitude for their constant support and love throughout the show and a bid a final farewell.
