You have accused me of vandalism when I reverted your edit that made this page look ridiculous. Do you really want readers of wikipedia to think that people from Maulvi Bazar / Moulvibazar don't know how to write English and can't be bothered to look at the English Banglapedia to see how it spells the name of the district? - Not my intention to accuse you of anything. Apologies if I came across like this. The correct spelling is however is one word 'Moulvibazar'. I know this as I was born there, it is in all official documents, going back 37+ years. I don't know where this archaic Maulvi bazar spelling comes from but this has caused a lot of pain personally, i.e. bank address, account detail mismatch. I am on mission to correct it here and elsewhere.
- I wanted to rename this page and remove the redirect (possibly redirect from here to correct one). But unfortunately I don't know the know-how or have the right privilege. May be you can help me here.

- You could certainly do that, but the first thing that is needed is good English-language citations that use the Moulvibazar spelling. You need to find something at least as authoritative as Banglapedia, because Banglapedia uses the spelling Maulvi Bazar. I think that there are redirects in place now for the various spellings; some other spellings are common as well, including Moulavibazar and Maulavibazar. The situation on the Maulvi Bazar District page is very unfortunate at present, it looks as if wikipedia editors don't know what they are doing. I wonder if the problem that you have had is largely corrected now because all the different spellings go to the same place, and it should be less important what the actual title of the page is. P.S. the reason that I thought you were accusing me of vandalism was that your edit summary was "v"; many editors use that abbreviation to mean vandalism. - I have emailed Banglapedia to correct their spellings citing number of references. I hope they update their page. Here's some the references Government website on Moulvibazar district administration, Bangladesh PostOffice Website, Zilla administration website,Another Government Administration website (row 27),Jahirul76 (talk) 14:03, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
- This is difficult because I'm editing from another continent, and cannot access the first link (it says Page not found) or the PostOffice site (which shows headings but no content). This is a common problem with the international nature of Wikipedia. Frankly, I'd still vote for following Banglapedia, because the usual style here is to follow the spelling that appears to be the most common one for online searches, the one that gives the largest number of "hits" in a google search. I'd suggest that you should use the template Template:Requested move and "Create a section at the bottom of the talk page of the page that you want to be moved.", i.e., at Talk:Maulvi Bazar District. Hopefully, a discussion will occur and we can see what other people think about this. P.S.: I've added citations for those two other spellings, government documents too, so I still think that the spelling used in English is very flexible.
