Regarding the absence of a very well known info on SEXUAL DESIRE on wikipedia

This question is related to sexual desire of males. In the article SEXUAL DESIRE i could not find a very well known fact. It is generally seen that in sexually active active males, the time gap between the ejaculations affects their sexual desire. For example, if a man masturbates or ejaculates regularly(say once a day or once every two days or twice a day) and suddenly stops it, his sexual desire(or what we call libido) increases..It is also observed that the orgasm after a period of abstinence are also intense and getting and erection in a short term abstinence period is quicker..Why does this happen..? And why does wikipedia not mention i under the factors affecting sexual desire ..? I know that males are made to release their sperms once in a while. But why could i not find a reason or mention of it on wikipedia...many thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ed beerman (talkcontribs) 05:18, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

Rusty Foster merge proposal

Anglocentrism, anglocentric redirect revert

Hi Jarble, I undid your redirect change to Eurocentrism back to Ethnocentrism. While in every case we speak of anglocentrism, we also speak of ethnocentrism, only some are also cases of eurocentrism. Eg I came across this from an article about Scottish history, where the target article came as a surprise :) regards 2.240.72.88 (talk) 16:02, 14 November 2013 (UTC)

I assumed good faith; let's talk on article talk page.

I assumed you were acting in good faith by adding (restoring) a see-also link on Race and intelligence, one of the ten most edit-warred articles on Wikipedia. Could you kindly visit the article talk page and discuss there what sources you had in mind as you added that see-also link? (That article badly needs more reliable sources, and I'd love to hear about the sources you know.) All the best, see you around on Wikipedia. -- WeijiBaikeBianji (talk, how I edit) 19:45, 21 November 2013 (UTC)

Hatnotes on articles whose titles include the words "knockout" and "game"

I think you are incredibly confused as to what a WP:hatnote is supposed to be used for. No one going to Knockout (violent game), Knockout (game show), or Knockout (board game) will have wanted to go to Knockout (game) or Knockout game because of how those pages titles are disambiguated and how there aren't any redirects sending people to those other articles. However, the disambiguation link is much more useful at Knockout game and Knockout (game).—Ryulong (琉竜) 06:29, 14 December 2013 (UTC)

There is no need for a hatnote on Knockout (violent game) no matter how many redirects you may find exist. Please stop adding a hatnote. Bring it up on the talk page if you really think it's necessary.—Ryulong (琉竜) 19:59, 14 December 2013 (UTC)

Marshalsea

Hi Jarble, please don't keep adding links to this FA, particularly the one in the lead. "Privately for profit" is not "private prison," and the article on private prisons has nothing to do with institutions such as the Marshalsea. SlimVirgin (talk) 00:52, 14 December 2013 (UTC)

User:SlimVirgin: According to the main article, the Marshalsea was a prison that was "run privately for profit", so I assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that it was a private prison. Is there some subtle difference between a "private prison" and a prison that is "run privately for profit", and does any article on Wikipedia offer any explanation of this distinction? Jarble (talk) 18:56, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
Sorry, I just noticed this. What I meant is that linking "run privately for profit" to "private prison" is an Easter-egg link so you have to check that it's appropriate. And when you look at the article, Private prison, you see that it has nothing to do with that era, so linking to it would be either misleading or pointless. I prefer to keep blue links to a minimum, especially in the lead, so adding a misleading one to the lead of an FA is not something I'd support. If the phrase were linked to an article on History of incarceration in England, or similar, I probably wouldn't object, though I still might argue against it in the lead. Regarding "Too many headers" on the page Abuse

Hey there. First off, no offense on the revert. Saying the tag is not applicable must seem absurd (there are over 100 headers, after all). It's complicated.

I argued the same not too long ago. Penbat reverted me and requested I leave a proposal on the talk page instead, before I took any action. I did (here's my post). He hasn't gotten back to me yet, apparently because he's still a bit sore from personal attacks regarding the page. Also, he seems very attached to the way the page is currently structured. Right now I think editors are aware of this anomalously-structured article, but are just waiting for Penbat to respond so as not to make waves. meteor_sandwich_yum (talk) 02:00, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

With regard to enabling feedback, like you did here, be aware that not everyone is a fan of WP:Article feedback; many editors here (including myself) consider it generally useless because of the quality of commentary that it involves. See Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Article feedback. So enabling feedback across various articles like you are now doing is not a good idea. If WP:Article feedback is off at an article, it might be for a good reason. Flyer22 (talk) 21:43, 15 January 2014 (UTC)

The article Glue language has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

non-notable idiosyncratic term, maybe redirect to scripting language

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Just for info, because you contributed to the page more recently than its vintage 2007 "unreferenced" tag. –Be..anyone (talk) 01:12, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

Vaginoplasty

I'm wondering if [edit] might be inaccurate. You removed the more general "genital modification" in favour of "female genital modification" when in theory some of the individuals undergoing the pertinent procedures are genetically male or intersex, rather than female. I'm not sure of the relevant politics or policies in this regard, which is why I'm bringing it to your attention in case your edit was made with more information available than I have handy (I'm not really in a position at the moment to go exploring/asking). Otherwise, I would generally say that the more general category would be best. - 156.34.68.210 (talk) 09:03, 13 April 2014 (UTC) User:BalthCatnotloggedin

OER inquiry

Hi Jarble, I'm sending you this message because you're one of about 300 users who have recently edited an article in the umbrella category of open educational resources (OER) (or open education). In evaluating several projects we've been working on (e.g. the WIKISOO course and WikiProject Open), my colleague Pete Forsyth and I have wondered who chooses to edit OER-related articles and why. Regardless of whether you've taken the WIKISOO course yourself - and/or never even heard the term OER before - we'd be extremely grateful for your participation in this brief, anonymous survey before 27 April. No personal data is being collected. If you have any ideas or questions, please get in touch. My talk page awaits. Thanks for your support! - Sara FB (talk) 20:42, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

Invitation join the new Physiology Wikiproject!

Physiology gives us an understanding of how and why things in the field of medicine happen. Together, let us jumpstart the project and get it going. Our energy is all it needs.

Based on the long felt gap for categorization and improvization of WP:MED articles relating to the field of physiology, the new WikiProject Physiology has been created. WikiProject Physiology is still in its infancy and needs your help. On behalf of a group of editors striving to improve the quality of physiology articles here on Wikipedia, I would like to invite you to come on board and participate in the betterment of physiology related articles. Help us to jumpstart this WikiProject.

  • Feel free to leave us a message at any time on the WikiProkect Physiology talk page. If you are interested in joining the project yourself, there is a participant list where you can sign up. Please leave a message on the talk page if you have any problems, suggestions, would like review of an article, need suggestions for articles to edit, or would like some collaboration when editing!
  • You can tag the talk pages of relevant articles with {{WikiProject Physiology|class=|importance=}} with your assessment of the article class and importance alongwith. Please note that WP:Physiology, WP:Physio, WP:Phy can be used interchangeably.
  • You will make a big difference to the quality of information by adding reliable sources. Sourcing physiology articles is essential and makes a big difference to the quality of articles. And, while you're at it, why not use a book to source information, which can source multiple articles at once!
  • We try and use a standard way of arranging the content in each article. That layout is here. These headings let us have a standard way of presenting the information in anatomical articles, indicate what information may have been forgotten, and save angst when trying to decide how to organise an article. That said, this might not suit every article. If in doubt, be bold!
  • Why not try and strive to create a good article! Physiology related articles are often small in scope, have available sources, and only a limited amount of research available that is readily presentable!
  • Your contributions to the WikiProject page, related categories and templates is also welcome.
  • To invite other editors to this WikiProject, copy and past this template (with the signature):
  • To welcome editors of physiology articles, copy and past this template (with the signature):
  • You can feel free to contact us on the WikiProkect Physiology talk page if you have any problems, or wish to join us. You can also put your suggestions there and discuss the scope of participation.

Hoping for your cooperation! DiptanshuTalk 12:21, 27 April 2014 (UTC)

Regarding discretionary sanctions on 2014 Ukrainian revolution

Hi! I've noticed that you raised the possibility of discretionary sanctions being levied with regards to the ongoing problems on the talk page of 2014 Ukrainian revolution. I wanted to let you know that it would seem that someone, though I am unsure who, did add a notice of potential discretionary sanctions to the talk page. I am curious, however, whether or nor they will be necessarily enforced. I am aware that the arbitration committee must approve any discretionary sanctions. I'm just unsure whether the decisions that they have made already are applicable to this article. I just wanted to inform you of all of this in case you were not aware already. --Delta1989 (talk/contributions) 14:35, 5 May 2014 (UTC)

Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

For your information: I have implemented your merge request.[1][2]. The new, centralised section will need to be updated with information on the last couple of elections. Regards, AGK [•] 12:50, 24 May 2014 (UTC)

@AGK: Also, I've found another page that might need to be merged. Jarble (talk) 16:29, 24 May 2014 (UTC)

Climate (change) policy

Hi, Thanks for your attempt to provide some direction to the phrase "climate policy" via a redir to economics of global warming. However, it makes little sense to have "climate policy" take the reader to one place and "climate change policy" to another. I have standardized those redirs, by pointing to the higher-level article (politics of global warming) instead of what I see as a sub-component article (economics of global warming). If you wish to discuss the redir roadmap more, please start a thread at article talk page. Thanks! NewsAndEventsGuy (talk) 08:06, 29 May 2014 (UTC)

Template Neologism

In view of your recent edit to this template, perhaps you'd also want to link the word "delete" to WP:AFD? Debresser (talk) 13:58, 10 July 2014 (UTC)

Red Programming

Hello, I read that you were interested in Rebol and Red programming so I wish to get some information about Red programming. Please help me if possible. Thanks. Nelsonkam (talk) 21:28, 11 August 2014 (UTC)Nelsonkam

@Nelsonkam: See here for some Google search results related to the Red programming language. Do you have any more questions? Jarble (talk) 21:33, 11 August 2014 (UTC)

Thanks. Did you use Red to write the Engscript language ? Nelsonkam (talk) 21:46, 11 August 2014 (UTC)Nelsonkam

@Nelsonkam: No, I wrote the EngScript compiler in Python. The latest version of EngScript includes a language-independent source-to-source compiler, but it hasn't been uploaded to Github yet. Jarble (talk) 22:21, 11 August 2014 (UTC)

OK. But can EngScript compile dialects of language-oriented programming languages like Rebol or Red into standalone DSLs ? If it doesn't, do you know a compiler that can perform this task ?Nelsonkam (talk) 22:29, 11 August 2014 (UTC)Nelsonkam

@Nelsonkam: It is possible to create domain-specific languages by adding new macros to EngScript. Jarble (talk) 23:11, 11 August 2014 (UTC)

Comedy of the commons Wikipedia

I think your revert on the WP article site might be formally OK, but the source you refered to as being elder than WP is about the comedy (and WP falls under its terms). You seem to have medical background, compare the Semmelweis reflex, it is an old story but still may apply today. Thats said, I would prefer you suggest a better wording insetad of reverting. Translations from Czech

Jarble, while I welcome and encourage you to translate pages from other languages, Dog skeleton is not how to do it. The {{expand Czech}} template is used for an article that already exists and can be better. It's not to be used to request a new page. If you wish to translate a page, translate first, then post. Thanks, Oiyarbepsy (talk) 03:23, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
