Your name is very confusing
You had me puzzled for a good 10 minutes while I tried to sort out why this MrStalker person was posting on behalf of JayC. Would you please consider putting JayC in your signature somehow? Seeing JayC in the history and MrStalker in the comments is incredibly misleading. It looks as though MrStalker was your original user name? BigNate37(T) 08:19, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I just forgot to change my signature when I changed my username. --JayC (talk) 09:11, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
Speedy deletion contested: Robot and Monster
Hello JayC, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Robot and Monster, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Contains sufficient content to be a stub. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Armbrust, B.Ed. WrestleMania XXVIII The Undertaker 20–0 15:33, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
- It wasn't when I tagged it, check the history. Although since it now has some content I'm happy to see the speedy removed. --JayC (talk) 19:06, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
If you are to continue speedy deletion tagging, please see WP:ATHLETE (in this case, WP:NOLYMPICS). Persons who have competed in the Olympics are presumed to be notable, and even if that were not the case playing in the Olympics would fall under a "credible claim of significance or importance" and thus not be speediable under A7. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 15:14, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
Olympians are notable athletes.♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:16, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
- Fair enough, I was not aware of that particular guideline. A lot of athletes compete in the Olympics and the page I tagged made no other indication of significance other than that. A 14-year old Olympian, however, is a completely different matter. --JayC (talk) 19:01, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
XFL player articles
Hi, I just noticed on Jayemd's talk page that you;ve tagged various newly-created articles for speedy under A7. I haven't the foggiest about American football ( I'm a Brit and not any kind of football fan!). Could you double-check on sports notability guidelines where XFL players would stand on this? Not that I'm intending to become involved in the issue (footie of all sorts bores me to tears), but the article creator in (AFAIK) a youngster, and could possibly do with suggestions; it's possible that these are being created as he's just been bitten for unwikilinking redlinks ... it would be a real bummer for him to be doubly-zapped, once for removing redlinks, and the next time for trying to turn them into bluelinks ... Pesky (talk) 16:20, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
- Hello, thank you for contacting me and bringing your concerns to my attention. I've checked the notability guidelines for athletes and XFL is not specifically mentioned there, however since XFL only ran for one season I don't think it can be regarded a "top-level professional league" as stated in the guideline. Therefore, since the articles did not make any indication of why the players are notable other than playing in the league, my assessment is that the articles about these players fall under CSD:A7. If other, more educated editors think they are notable, however, I'm not the one to protest. When it comes to redlinks, an editor warning another editor about removing redlinks should make clear that creating bluelinks instead by creating single-sentence stubs is pointless. --JayC (talk) 19:08, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Jay! bobrayner is going to be mentoring Jayemd, and I've suggested to him the possibility that you might like to help Jayemd with improving some of those articles? I think the sports notability guidelines are a bit ambiguous where it comes to footie, and even though XFL may be on the borderline (or not, I dunno!) when it comes to being / having once been a major professional league, it's more than likely that all the XFL players then went on to play in other big leagues. Point being that an article has to start somewhere; ideally, yes, finding out what the player did post-XFL (what league they then / now played in) would be a good start, but (just like articles) all editors have to start somewhere, too! I did a huge stack of new page patrol at one point (was patrolling about 1,000 new pages a month), and I eventually found that, despite npp being a clearly worthy job with nothing like enough patrollers, I actually got more personal satisfaction from boosting a couple of the articles I found than from any amount of tagging! Worth thinking about seeing if you can help Jayemd look at an article from a new page patroller's point of view, and help him along a little bit. You might both enjoy the interaction.
Adding: or any other top-level professional league might include XFL. No league lasts forever. Pesky (talk) 02:47, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

Rowspan and colspan in Template:Chart
Hello,
I notice that in 2008 you updated Template:Chart to "[add] support for custom rowspan and colspan". Could you point me to an example of somewhere that feature is getting used? I'd like to add it to the template documentation.
Many thanks, — Hex (❝?!❞) 20:10, 14 October 2012 (UTC).

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Bert (game). Since you had some involvement with the Bert (game) redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion (if you have not already done so). Orphaned non-free media (File:Hitman-triple-pack-cover.jpg)
Thanks for uploading File:Hitman-triple-pack-cover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:01, 24 November 2012 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:Cncra2-win-cover.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Cncra2-win-cover.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. The article Command & Conquer: Tiberium Wars (novel) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Does not establish its own notability. This is not a decorated work of art, but rather a promotional attempt on Electronic Arts' part to promote the video game. A brief mention in that article would suffice.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Codename Lisa (talk) 02:38, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
