Help me!

The page I am attempting to create keeps getting marked for speedy deletion. Why? The page is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comptia_advanced_security_practitioner

Please help me with making this a permanent page. I am creating this as part of a college assignment which requires its students to identify a wikipage that does not exist and create it. Since I am in the IT field, I decided to look for certifications. CISSP existed but CASP did not. Please help!

Hello Jmiller. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. That means that the articles have to adhere to certain standards. We call these the Five Pillars. Articles written need to be: notable, have verifiable information, provide reliable sources, written from a neutral point of view. Articles that don't adhere to those core principles are subject to deletion. A very common reason for speedy deletion is not demonstrating notability. It's important to demonstrate that through 3rd party sources, and demonstrate that they deserve their own separate article (if a parent article already exists).

Publishing articles as part of assignments is welcome, as long as they contribute positively and adhere to the principles.

Please explain to me how this did not meet the requirements. I am a neutral party and was attempting to emulate a current, similar page in order to keep the format and information homogenous to Wikipedia standards (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Certified_Information_Systems_Security_Professional). Additionally, I was merely in the process of creating the page! So, please explain, in specificity, how this page was deemed "disruptive".

The article you linked doesn't qualify for speedy deletion (and there isn't a deletion tag, speedy or otherwise). It's referenced, and it's notable. However, it relies too heavily on a primary source (the ISC² website), but that doesn't qualify it for deletion since other sources are included.

Please link the specific discussion or deletion log you mean. Was there a previous article that got deleted?

There is a process called undelete if you demonstrate that the article was wrongly deleted. Or, if the deletion tag is still present, dispute the deletion on the talk page of the article. —Hexafluoride ^{Ping me if you need help, or post on my talk} 13:36, 7 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've just looked at the article that got redirected to CompTIA. It was handled correctly. The text had no references, and it was already covered in another parent article. Thank you for the clarification concerning that page. The deletion to which I am referring is previously referenced above (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comptia_advanced_security_practitioner); however, this is now redirected to a page specifically for CompTIA and not the page I created. I can still access the page I created via my “user contributions” but the content is gone (I have it saved locally). The intent is to create a non-biased, informational page about this subject. Again, this is part of a college class assignment – create a new Wiki page for a new topic. Any help unblocking this page would be greatly appreciated. I am more than willing to submit content for pre-approval or otherwise to make sure this page A) complies with Wikipedia guidelines and B) becomes a permanent page. It is difficult to find new content to contribute and I would very much like to go forward with this topic.

That topic is already covered in CompTIA, so that page should be redirected to main article. If you disagree, make a draft about that topic and show that it has gained significant coverage in reliable and independent sources. Use article wizard make the draft. Ways to improve Woodlawn subdivision

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. The picture is TOO BIG! Add a MUCH smaller photo instead. Thank you for contributing!
