hey im gary or smithcool, have you seen the old newsletter?? it is here anyway for you to view. i will send you a link to the template and you can begin making the newsletter. the july newsletter has to be out before the end of the month but if it is too much work, just start on next months. the newsletter should be saved on this page: Wikipedia:WikiProject U2/Outreach/newsletterjuly07. every month just change july with the name of the month it is out. only save it here as it will get confusing. i will add it the the archives myself. i will also help make it. Re:U2 wikiproject invite

U2 are currently working on their new album in North Africa. Their most current song is a cover of the John Lennon song, 'Instant Karma' for the album Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur. All proceeds go to Amnesty International so please buy a copy. “Can you, hear, me, when I, sing You're the reason I sing You're the reason why the opera's in me” U2 News "PopMart: Live From Mexico City" will be released on DVD on September 10 (except for the U.S.A). A list of U2's other video releases can be found here. The band have returned from Fez, Morocco, working on their album. According to Adam, “There’s definitely an album in there.” Some possible songs include: “Mercy”, “If I Could Live My Life Again”, and “North Star”. U2's new film, U23D, is due for 3D theatre release later this year. The Republican National Committee has taken the first step to endorsing Bono’s ONE initiative, with a potential donation of 30 billion dollars in U.S. taxes. As you may have noticed, we are now doing themed newsletters. This one (if you haven't already guessed) is How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb. Every month the newsletter will have a different theme. There will also be a special edition when the new album is released. Also thanks to Neranei for some of the U2 news. New Members We have two new members since the start of the month! They are Vero444 and MC. We now have 38 members! The Album It was released on November 2004. It was distributed by Island Records and Interscope in the U.S.A. The album was a critical and commercial success. It went to #1 in many countries and sold over 9 million copies worldwide. Bono described the album as "our first rock album. It's taken us twenty years or whatever it is, but this is our first rock album." The album deals with love, war, peace, harmony, and approaching death. The singles released from the album are: Vertigo, All Because of You, Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own, City of Blinding Lights and Original of the Species. More info from the album page here. Corrections Last month's newsletter incorrectly stated that there were 34 members. This should've been 36. Also, under the "U2 News" section, line 3, instead of saying most recent single it should've said most recent song (this has since been corrected). Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When using certain templates on talk pages, as you did to User talk:70.111.241.250‎, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. Member News Also Neranei has recently started the U2 Portal. Don't forget to visit it when you can. Did You Know? On front cover of All That You Can't Leave Behind is a very subtle Biblical reference. In the background J 33-3 can be seen. This is a reference to verse 33 of chapter 3 of the book of Jeremiah: "Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and hidden things which you have not known."	From the Editors Welcome to the September Edition of the U2 WikiProject Newsletter. The theme for this newletter is "All That You Can't Leave Behind". We hope you enjoy reading it! New Members Our new members this month are Keeper76 and Jort227. We have now reached 40 members. The Album The album was released on October 30, 2000. It debuted at #1 in 28 countries and sold over 12 million copies worldwide. This album marked the end of U2's experimental phase in the 90's. However, they did not really return to their more traditional rock sound until How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb. Rolling Stone called it "U2's third masterpiece". The song "Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of" was written by Bono for his late friend, Michael Hutchence. On several occasions the band said that they were "re-applying for the job of the best band in the world" with this album. The singles released from the album are: Beautiful Day, Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of, Walk On and Elevation. Take a look at the All That You Can't Leave Behind article for more info.

Non-free image use

I noticed that the last two U2 WikiProject newsletters contained non-free images and had to be removed. Because they are copyrighted, they are not permitted to be used in such contexts, as per WP:NFC#Policy. The images may only be used in articles related directly to it, where no free equivalent exists. Please make sure that in the future, non-free images do not appear in non-article namespace, including (but not limited to) talk pages, project pages, portals, etc. –Dream out loud (talk) 19:29, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
