Notable People

- I assume you are speaking of the person running for city council in Atlanta? I removed that entry for several reasons.
- If you noticed, his name was in red on the list whereas all the other entries are in blue. This means there is no Wikipedia bio on him.
- We cannot ever write about a living person without references. The blue links to the bios on the others links to their bios where there are references.
- To be in a notable people list, a person has to meet Wikipedia's definition of notable. In short, that definition is: they must have been written about in detail in multiple reliable sources.
So, in short, if you can add references to show notability and his tie to the community, feel free to re add him. John from Idegon (talk) 20:38, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

The journal article primarily deals with blood glucose systems and the market in China for those products so it is a good source for supporting business facts. - First quit personalizing the normal process here by framing everything as "unfair". It is in no way unfair, it is how things get done. And as I told you in the message I left on your talk page, you need to make your argument at the article's talk page. No I won't sit and read an article for you. If you want to participate in editing this article, I hope you will read the link so you will see that it is a good reference for supporting the facts I wrote. You have volunteered your time by intervening in this article. Is it too much too ask then for you to take the time to participate in a way that is fair and informed?
I believe you have behaved unethically. I have earnestly tried to contribute an article that from a common sense take is notable. I have only included plain facts in the article backed by a peer reviewed journal article. I do not understand why you are so determined to see it deleted. John, I see you're much easier to offend than most WP editors I have come across so far. I am sorry if I offended you. No need to become aggressive, make threats and alike. It's an honest opinion, nothing to do with fear of being "dragged" here or there etc., thatyou may feel free to do as you see fit. I only tried to be brief, I have very good reasons to save time. If anyone has used foul language, that wasn't me (pompous, [p]ass, etc). Anonymous online wars are nothing I'd be proud of.
TO THE CONCRETE ISSUE: Leaving personal feelings aside: I've spend (too much) time on editing Eva Zeisel, a remarkable designer. I noticed that most companies and product lines she worked for are VERY MUCH OF INTEREST FOR COLLECTORS, for me as a person interested in design as well, but are often not dealt with by WP, which should be corrected. These are mostly companies which had their heyday and disappeared or morphed, museums and collectors know about them but that's not helpful for online users. Just google the names and you'll see that they do indeed have notability and verifiability. In order to find product lines, I've spent too much time finding out first who the producing companies are, so having them listed, even as a stub, certainly helps with the research. It's a conclusion from concrete work, not hypothetical at all.
IN PRINCIPLE: I see no reason why "red links" should disturb anyone all that much. They OFTEN lead to a quick creation of new pages - just yesterday a red link I created few weeks ago led to a new page. It too caused smb. to erase it, and in a very similar manner to the way I addressed you, I managed to have him accept my arguments, which now led, as said, to a new page. One simple Google search convinced him. I did experience many cases though where very pedantic, possessive editors keep any attempt of modifying "their" pet pages react very irrationally and remove changes, even w/o minding parts of the edits they cannot possibly oppose to. Usually appealing to their common sense and mature thinking solves the issue w/o too much correspondence. Mostly it's about political issues, where people are personally involved and feel affected, which here shouldn't be the case. I don't know you, have zero intention, urge or time to fight over such issues, so please consider what I'me writing here. It's never personal, it shouldn't get emotional. Btw, "notability" is very subjective, some trust and patience usually do the job - I never ever removed edits because of "too many" linkings, nor did they disturb me, especially if they respect a logic and potentially help other users. I hope you agree, this should be a matter of consensus for everybody.

Hi john I am still getting use to how to send messages , hope I am doing it right now .I was just asking for some help not sure why you have to talk down to me but their is a good amount of info online,would the site neighbor hood scout be a good source it always seems to give good info on a neighbor like median price, income, race etc. I do see now that maybe the term"high desirable" could be left out because not everyone likes that type of living but "friendly hills" is a very well know neighborhood and I think more info on it would be a good thing just like how there is extra info on "uptown" historic parts which lots of people like as well. - The title of the section is "Championships won". It doesn't say anything about being national or state-sponsored. In 2012 Oakdale won the championship in the KIDA league, thus should be included. --Exterioramoeba (talk) 12:58, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
- The title is irrelevant. In high school articles on Wikipedia, we only discuss achievements of this type (athletics and academic competitions, including music) that are of the top possible level. Question
Hello. You said that "only one fair use per article" for the Bishop Ward High School, but there was only one fair use image. This image is PD-textlogo, which is totally different than a non-free logo. So why can't it stay? Corkythehornetfan | Chat? 05:12, 14 February 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for pointing that out. In theory you could use both. In practice, it really doesn't work. Images on the body if the article need to illustrate something from the editorial content and of course the letterhead doesn't. You can only have either a logo, an image or a seal in the info box. I had one revision with the letterhead at the top of the info box and trust me the crest looks much better. You can only do what the info box will do. Only template editors may actually change them. I would also oppose using both in the info box even if you can figure a way to make it work. It is my, and many other school article editor's, view that stylistically, all school articles should be as close to the same as possible. John from Idegon (talk) 05:23, 14 February 2015 (UTC)

Alexandria Edits
Hello John, I was curious to find out the reason for some of the edit removals on the Alexandria, Louisiana page you've mentioned. I understand the revisions for the Little Walter subsection and the Alex River Fete subsection was lack of sources. Even though the events do occur, I couldn't find many articles about them or at least articles that went into great detail about them that's still posted, and I don't know if official facebook pages count as sources. So I can leave them off unless I find better sources. But I'm curious as to why the welcome sign photo and the new info under Mardi Gras was removed. The photo was taken by me and as for the Mardi Gras info, I have used a recent article from the Town Talk as a source. I was wondering if that was a credible source to add the extra info. - Hi, Robin. Welcome again. I'm really glad you want to contribute to Wikipedia. It's fun and can be habit forming! Regarding your questions: If you look at my edit summary in the article's history, you will see my explanation was unreferenced and unencyclopedic. Wikipedia is not a newspaper. We do not discuss local events unless their notability extends beyond the local area. We also generally shy away from entering anything into the encyclopedia that has just happened. Wikipedia is not a directory or a listing of events. We instead try to style our articles to give a good overview of the subject based on things drawn from other reliable published sources. If after a couple years of this joint celebration, if a regional travel magazine such as Southern Living we're to write it up, then it would be a great addition to the article. Btw, I'm a big fan of Little Walter. A modern harmonica player and a late, old friend, Gary Primich, was also a big fan and turned me on to him. If you can find any references in magazines or out of town papers for his festival, it would please me to see that added on a personal note. I think the same can be said for the photo since it was just built about a year or less ago, but it's no big deal if it was just the fact it just wasn't need for the page. I do hope more articles are written about all of the events that way I, if not, someone else can add them to the page. And true, while I only do edits once in a while during spare times, it is fun to add pieces of information to the site. It is like adding a piece of history to look back upon or for future generations to see and learn from. - Just realized I didn't address your question about the image. I reverted it not based on anything about it but rather just the article appears to have enough pictures. In general, any image should illustrate some portion of the copy. Pictures of welcome signs do however make good images in the info box or below it to the left in large articles, as they kinda serve the same purpose in the article as they do on the road- --to say, howdy and welcome. I know what must be and should be followed, like policies and guidelines respectively, and what can be followed but there's no obligation to, like essays. As well, in my five years here, I have focused specifically on municipalities, and therefore I know that information on a municipality's fire department and media is very relevant, commonplace, and useful. - I never refused to go to the article talk page. In most cases, that is the best place to settle such a dispute. But with an article like Scarsdale, I'd be willing to bet that few if any people will read the conversation while it's ongoing, nonetheless respond to it. It's such a small article, it hasn't even had 20 edits to it this year (pages like Valhalla train crash have had almost 300 just in two weeks), and therefore it's easier to discuss here, where you'll automatically be pinged every time a response is added.

Just to make sure there is no misunderstanding here. This edit I made[3] to Ferndale High School (Michigan) article was only fixing a broken wikilink. The puffery and misleading reference were already there, I noticed the closing brackets were off for the wikilink and fixed them, that's all.
