Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Juicypicklerick, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your recent edits did not conform to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may have been removed. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations verified in reliable, reputable print or online sources or in other reliable media. Always provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to The Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Again, welcome!  10mmsocket (talk) 07:10, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Why was the citation not trustworthy it contained multiple photos on separate occasions of HMSU (ctsfo) carrying sig mcx The switch was made back in 2020 to align with the rest of ctsfo throughout the united kingdom Juicypicklerick (talk) 09:53, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The weapon is not mentioned in either the article or the picture captions. As for the switch in 2020, where's the reference for that? 10mmsocket (talk) 10:04, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
How are Photos of HMSU (ctsfo) in Northern Ireland carrying the firearm less reliable than having the word MCX in the caption of the picture or in the article There is photographic evidence of them carrying it on multiple occasions on multiple different scenes Juicypicklerick (talk) 10:26, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
One of the core principles of Wikpedia is verifiability, i.e. "content is determined by previously published information rather than the beliefs or experiences of its editors. Even if you're sure something is true, it must be verifiable before you can add it". In this case you have a picture of somebody holding a weapon. There's nothing in the source that lets me verify it's a specific weapon, nor is there anything that supports your assertion about a prior transition". See WP:V and then WP:RS. 10mmsocket (talk) 10:41, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
See also WP:SYNTH, which states "Do not .... state or imply a conclusion not explicitly stated by any of the sources.", which is exactly what you are doing here. 10mmsocket (talk) 10:44, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
