Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Mass Rapid Transit (Singapore), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Halcrow. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 18:03, 11 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, the introduction of inappropriate pages, such as Wikipedia:2024 Uttar Pradesh stampede, is considered vandalism and is prohibited. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Information icon Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow, or move it unilaterally against naming conventions or consensus, as you did to 2024 Hathras crowd crush. This includes making page moves while a discussion remains underway. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Please do not keep trying to move this page, or "correct" information on it, to change the wording from stampede to crowd crush. The wording of "stampede" is prevalent in most sources, and we should use the state level rather than the district level for the name, as has already been said on the previous move. Can you recommend a way to "scan/skim through" PH newspaper archives?

[edit]

Hello, I'm also a Filipino editing Wikipedia (since June 2024), and I found you were also editing Wikipedia pages of the Philippines' train lines. You also mostly add citations or content, and I wanted to learn more on searching for references. I appreciate your edit on MRT-3 of adding a newspaper citation on the planned tunnel from Buendia to Gil Puyat (LRT-1), but I find it somewhat impossible for me to scan every newspaper entry in the Philippine Daily Inquirer or Manila Standard (both are archived in Google Books in select years) to verify a claim needing a citation.

My question about searching references is: May you recommend a more efficient to find for keywords in newspaper articles or infer the "best time period' (the month of a year) for the claim to be in a newspaper? A "find" function is what comes to my mind, which isn't possible in the Google Books scans. You can generally infer when a newspaper article related to a train line's construction/development was published, but it just needs a lot of time to browse each daily.

I initially do a simple search of key terms in Google or Edge, or search for similar references already used in Wikipedia, then in sources similar to JSTOR. I also use the Index to Philippine Newspapers of UP Diliman, but it's sometimes inadequate, since I can't find a digital copy of the article. I can commute to a nearby library (QCPL, Rizal Library) to read it myself, paper or microform, but I prioritize digital copies.

If you'd like more clarifications on what I'd like to ask, kindly inform me. Thank you in advance and have a good day. RFNirmala (talk) 06:26, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow, or move it unilaterally against naming conventions or consensus, as you did to LRT Line 1 (Metro Manila). This includes making page moves while a discussion remains underway. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. These articles were changed as part of Talk:MRT Line 3 (Metro Manila)#Requested move 5 May 2020 and your moves, which were done by moving the page multiple times to scramble the title, were incredibly disruptive. Please stop with these kinds of moves. Sennecaster (Chat) 00:53, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The page LRT Line 1(Metro Manila) has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it was a recently created redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer, or other unlikely search term.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion review. Please use edit summaries

[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edit(s) you made did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account, you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary (or the default undo summary), and then click the "Save" button. Please don't change the format of dates

[edit]

Information icon Please don't change the format of dates. As a general rule, if an article has evolved using predominantly one format, the dates should be left in the format they were originally written in, unless there are reasons for changing it based on strong national ties to the topic. Please also note that Wikipedia does not use ordinal suffixes (e.g., st, nd, th), articles, or leading zeros on dates.

For more information about how dates should be written on Wikipedia, please see this page.

If you have any questions about this, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Enjoy your time on Wikipedia. Thank you. Flibirigit (talk) 19:05, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
