Mecca or Makkah
[edit]Hi - the reason people keep undoing your edit is that here on the English Wikipedia we use the English name, Mecca. There is a discussion at this link - Talk:Mecca#Makkah_or_Mecca which you can read or join, but the change will not be made without consensus (read WP:CON) being formed there. Thanks. Begoon talk 22:08, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
- Please stop changing Mecca to Makkah. Materialscientist (talk) 22:25, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Materialscientist (talk) 22:29, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
Mecca is English word. Makkah is Arabic word. Both have different meanings. Therefore Mecca can not be Makkah Further more names of places can not be translated in ither languages or subsetuted by other languages, Maryam mother of Jesus can not be mary, she is Maryam. Isa can not be Jesus, He is Isa Ibrahi can not be Abraham, He is Ibrahim. Ishaq can not be Isac, He is Ishaq. Yaqoob can not be jacob, he is yaqoob. Yousaf can not be Joseph, he is Yousaf, Historical mistakes must be corrected otherwise it would be an attempt to misguide coming generations — Preceding unsigned comment added by LIVETOLOVEGgmail (talk • contribs)
- So, are you saying that, when you are unblocked, you would intend to resume making such changes, against consensus, then edit warring over your changes? Begoon talk 00:27, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
