Ryan Kennedy (Radio Presenter) moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Ryan Kennedy (Radio Presenter), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. - Couldn’t work out how to add links. Plus many of the radio stations no longer exist so i can’t add their websites?! 2A00:23C6:D10D:5701:6D13:1395:E4F4:548F (talk) 07:39, 9 April 2023 (UTC)

Disclosure of conflict of interest
[edit]Hello. Are you connected with Elevate Property Group? If so, you need to disclose your conflict of interest. See WP:PAID. Local Variable (talk) 15:50, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hi there no i'm not. I'm not having much luck with Wikipedia to be honest, tried to upload one about my hubby who is a radio presenter too and that didn't work. Just keep hitting hurdles at every stage. On the point of giving up now! Lizzielouboutin (talk) 15:57, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
- @Lizzielouboutin I hope you don't get too disheartened. A few things. One, writing a new Wikipedia article from scratch, without editing experience, is hard. There are policies and guidelines about what can be the subject of an article, and how an article should be written. It's not recommended to begin there. I'd suggest making smaller edits to Wikipedia first. See WP: Getting started. Two, if you do want to write an article, I suggest reading WP:YFA and using the articles for creation wizard (as you have done earlier) and carefully consider the feedback. Three, it's best not to write articles about people or entities you know because it is a conflict of interest - Wikipedia maintains a neutral point of view which can be hard to do when you're connected to the subject. Let me know if you have any questions. Local Variable (talk) 16:04, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
- Ok..so can you tell me exactly what is wrong with that article about Old Heaton House? The citations are in there with the history and i'm kind of at a loss to what is wrong with it? I keep getting pointed to pages of very confusing instructions and given smoke and mirrors, i don't really understand what is wrong with it? Lizzielouboutin (talk) 16:13, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
- Well, I noticed the reference to Elevate Property Group and saw you'd tried to create an article about that. I wanted to make sure you were aware of the paid editing policy. As you'll see another editor has tidied up the article, but my main concern is that the article might not meet the notability guideline. For a topic to be worthy of a Wikipedia article it needs to have significant coverage in reliable secondary sources independent from the subject. I don't see very many references in the current article. Local Variable (talk) 16:20, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
- Well i added the article from the Times before but someone else wouldn't accept that for some other reason or another, i've tried to put it in now but the wikipedia page is like one of those BBC computers i had at primary school, presuming you're in the UK..you'll know what i mean. Surely anyone who can work this could qualify as a brain surgeon? Lizzielouboutin (talk) 16:32, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
- There has always been tension between enforcing quality standards and making it easy to create articles, I'm afraid it's not as simple as writing anything and getting it published. That is why the draft submission process is good, because you get feedback on the draft rather than the page being deleted. Local Variable (talk) 16:40, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
- I think the feedback needs to be clearer! So basically the Old Heaton House article needs more citations? Lizzielouboutin (talk) 16:43, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry i hope you don't think i'm being short with you ! You are very nice and are taking the time to chat to thank you very much. Lizzielouboutin (talk) 16:49, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
