Heighth listed at Redirects for discussion
An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Heighth. Since you had some involvement with the Heighth redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Si Trew (talk) 11:00, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
using the 'Willamette Meteorite' photo
Dear Loadmaster,
I'm writing on behalf of Studio-X ISTANBUL which is an initiative of Columbia University Architecture Department. As Studio-X Istanbul, we will be publishing a book about a natural history museum that had been established in 19th Century in İstanbul. If you're interested I can also provide more information about the book.,
Anyhow, we're willing to use one of the meteorite images in wikipedia. Though we're trying to contact the relevant person in order to use them. Will it be enough to make a clear attribution in the 'credits' part of the book?
Looking forward for your answer. Best, Ege

- Yes. (I assume you're referring to File:Willamette-meteorite-7637.jpg and File:Willamette-meteorite-7588.jpg.) As per the Creative Commons licensing, all you have to do is mention the source of the image somewhere in the publication (i.e., it does not have to be located next to the image iteself). Mentioning my name and optionally "Wikimedia Commons" is sufficient credit. See Commons:User:Loadmaster/permissions and Commons:Reusing content outside Wikimedia for more details. — Loadmaster (talk) 15:37, 10 May 2016 (UTC)

Dispute Notification
I have filed a dispute on the article of Fidel Castro. I do this because it is recommended "If you begin a discussion of another user on a common notice board, it is expected that you will notify the subject user by posting a message on their talk page". Do not report me as vandal. This is the only instance in which I will write something here. If this is not the way to do it, let me know how it is done. Jhaydn2016 (talk) 17:01, 29 November 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jhaydn2016 (talk • contribs)
If you are saying that I wrote something directed towards you on the Fidel Castro talk page, you are mistaken; and I certainly have not reported you as a vandal. I see that you responded to my question in the "Deaths" section, but other than that I have had no interaction with you on that page (or any other page). Since several other editors responded to some of your posts there, I can only assume that you should be directing this notice to one of them instead of me.— Loadmaster (talk) 22:29, 29 November 2016 (UTC)- Addendum — Ah, I see you mean the dispute opened here. Yes, I did also raise the question about whether Castro should properly be designated as a "dictator". I believe he should. — Loadmaster (talk) 22:36, 29 November 2016 (UTC)
Warning
Do not try to re-instate your edits after you opened a discussion which did not reach a clear consensus and then went dormant. That is aggressive or sneaky behavior, which is not appreciated on Wikipedia, and can lead to restriction of your edit privileges. Debresser (talk) 21:54, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
- I assume you are talking about my recent edit to Hebrew calendar. See my response on the talk page. — Loadmaster (talk) 17:05, 18 January 2017 (UTC)

- That's fine. I really just wanted to clarify that RWTS could also refer to the 'Read/Write Track Sector' subroutine of Apple DOS. A hatnote should suffice. — Loadmaster (talk) 16:57, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

Select Survey Invite
I'm working on a study of political motivations and how they affect editing. I'd like to ask you to take a survey. The survey should take no more than 1-2 minutes. Your survey responses will be kept private. Our project is documented at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Research:Wikipedia_%2B_Politics.
Your survey Link: https://uchicago.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9S3JByWf57fXEkR?Q_DL=56np5HpEZWkMlr7_9S3JByWf57fXEkR_MLRP_7TA7Eu97nR2QJEx&Q_CHL=gl
I am asking you to participate in this study because you are a frequent editor of pages on Wikipedia that are of political interest. We would like to learn about your experiences in dealing with editors of different political orientations.
Sincere thanks for your help! Porteclefs (talk) 12:44, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
Trying to understand your edit at Twelfth root of two
Hi! On January 4, 2017, you made some edits to a table on the page Twelfth root of two. On the edit pages, after such coding as (for example) {{frac|7|5}}, you added things like <!-- -1.4% --> . Your explanation reads, "The equal-tempered chromatic scale: Approx ratios.) I can't figure out what they're for. As far as I can tell, they make no difference to the actual page. If for nothing more than my curiosity, could you explain these, please? Thank you. By the way, just today, I added a column for interval names to that table. Uporządnicki (talk) 01:00, 15 June 2018 (UTC)
- Update! I did some searching and found that the angled brackets, exclamation point, and dashes are to enclose a comment within coding, so that the comment doesn't show in the final product. I've been guessing that the percentages give some sort of relationship between different tuning systems. But if it's OK with you, I'm still curious to know more. Uporządnicki (talk) 13:34, 15 June 2018 (UTC)
- Correct, HTML comments are created using
<!-- -->
delimiters. Those particular comments were to specify the accuracy of the fractions. For example, the 9⁄8 fraction for the ratio for note B is +0.3% more than the actual ratio of 1.22462. The comments are just notes for WP editors. — Loadmaster (talk) 16:29, 15 June 2018 (UTC)

- Got it, thanks! Yeah, very often I have to study coding that's already there to figure out how to make the edit I want to make. Uporządnicki (talk) 12:59, 16 June 2018 (UTC)

The article Tequila Party has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
The organization was most likely not notable when the article was created, and it appears the organization no longer exists or is no longer active. The external link to the website is broken and the two sources do not establish notability for the subject.
