Adoption
[edit]I would be happy to be adopted by you. However, your userpage says that you're kind of busy now. I've been here on and off for years, but it's always has been minor edits (correcting typos, removing vandalism, etc).--Umalee 20:12, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Thank you so very much for your very kind words of recommendation for me! I don't believe that I have had the pleasure of interacting with someone whose username is as vibrant and positive as yours but I am certainly glad of the pleasant circumstances in which I find myself doing so now. Best wishes with your schoolwork and I hope that our paths cross again somewhere out there on Wikipedia soon! Warm regards, (aeropagitica) 23:07, 8 January 2007 (UTC) |

I'm back
[edit]I said I would be back by or before the new year, but unfortunately that didn't happen. :( Soon after I left, my computer stopped. Translation: power button, action=push; result=null. No go, no way. That story will be told later. It turned out to be unfixable. (Thank God I saved almost everything before I gave it to my uncle.) So I went and got a new computer, which worked for about three days before it started slowing down. I took that computer to my uncle as well. He told me it had 1500+ viruses and 500+ pieces of spyware. That computer has not been seen since. The rest of that story will also be told later. Now I have a nice laptop (so what if it's a little old) that goes faster. My Christmas and New Year were very good, and I'm sorry to have missed you all for so long. — $PЯINGrαgђ Always loyal! 02:46, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- I reverted a few vandalism on my way here from my talk page, so I don't remember exactly what you said (so lazy), but in reply to whatever it was: everything is good and fine. My wife's stomach is becoming a quite nice end table to put my coffee on. :P I'm hoping so badly that they are born on Valentine's Day. I— $PЯINGrαgђ Always loyal! 00:23, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

- You're welcome. :-) Well, all out of honesty, I have no idea if it's a good GA candidate. I've never really tried to bring any article to GA or FA status, so I'm not aware of the typical requirements. I'm a lousy article builder actually, but don't tell this anyone. Here, I'll buy your silence with a chocolate candy. :-) Regards,--Húsönd 04:20, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

WP:ADOPT
[edit]Hi there,
As a current Adopter with the Adopt-a-User program there has been some ongoing developments that we would like to bring to your attention.
A new Adopter's Area has been created where you can find useful resources and other Adopter's experiences. Please feel free to add any resources you may have found useful as an Adopter, as well as recount any experiences that you think may help others. If you know of any useful resources for new users / Adoptees then you can add them here.
Also the way the adoption process works has changed slightly. To decrease workload at Category:Wikipedians seeking to be adopted in Adopt-a-user, on offering adoption please change the {{Adoptme}} template to {{Adoptoffer}} on the user's user page, and this will add the user to Category:Wikipedians having been offered adoption. Users that have already been offered adoption can always have a second or third offer, but by separating out those users that have not had an adoption offer yet, it is hoped that no one will go lacking.
Furthermore numerous Adopters have been adding their details to a list of users available for adopting, to offer a more personalised service and allow new users to browse through and pick their own Adopter. The quickest way to adopt though, is still to contact users at the Category:Wikipedians seeking to be adopted in Adopt-a-user.
Finally - thanks for all your hard work, keep it up - and if you have any general questions or suggestions about the further development of Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User please bring them to our talk page. Cheers Lethaniol 13:56, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
Thank You

Helping out with the Unassessed Wikipedia Biographies
[edit]Seeing that you are an active member of the WikiBiography Project, I was wondering if you would help lend a hand in helping us clear out the amount of [unassessed articles] tagged with {{WPBiography}}. Many of them are of stub and start class, but a few are of B or A caliber. Getting a simple assessment rating can help us start moving many of these biographies to a higher quality article. Thank you! --Ozgod 21:15, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Heyla, heyla!
[edit]Hiya, sweetie! Hope you're doing well! I was wondering a few things: 1. How can I earn a barnstar? 2. How can I make my own barnstar? 3. How do I give barnstars?
I know you aren't active right now, but when you can, please answer my questions, okay? Toodles! Floramage! 03:16, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
- WP:STAR may help you some. Actually, #s 1 and 3 are rather easy: with #1, all you have to do is keep making good-quality edits to anything. With #3, all you have to do is put up an image of a barnstar on someone's userpage, →
- usually with a message. #2 is tricky, however. Apart from making your own from an existing design, you need to submit it at Wikipedia:Barnstar and award proposals, where it may or may not get accepted. Hope this helps.— $PЯINGrαgђ 04:33, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi Lovelaughterlife,
Sorry for the blatant spam, but you have yourself down as interested at WikiProject user warnings WP:UW. There is a discussion on going here that might be of interest to you about the future of this project. There are two strawpolls on the talk pages and the second one is about the future of the WP:UW project. Now we have the end in sight we are looking at wrapping up the project and merging it with Template messages/User talk namespace WP:UTM and creating a one stop shop for all userspace templates. As you have yourself down as interested in this project we thought you may have some input on this issue, and would like you to visit the discussion and give any thoughts you may have on the matter. Fair use rationale for Image:Bearcreeklogo.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Bearcreeklogo.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 02:24, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Happy 4th of July!
[edit]I completely agree with your assertion that the article is copied. Previous to my former edit, it was in first person. Although she is notable under Wikipedia's guidelines, there are not many external sources detailing her life beyond the biography given on the ZoeGirl website. If you find anything, I'd be happy to work it into the article. Thanks, lovelaughterlife♥talk? 18:03, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
- All right. Just so you know, the picture you added is not acceptable for that article because it's possible to go out and take a picture of Chrissy Conway, so we shouldn't be using a fair use one. —Remember the dot (talk) 20:16, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

The newsletter is back! Many things have gone on during the past few months, but many things have not. While the assessment drive helped revitalize the assessment department of the project, many other departments have received no attention. Most notably: peer review and our "workgroups". A day long IRC meeting has been planned for October 13th, with the major focus being which areas of the project are "dead", what should our goals be as a project, and how to "revive" the dead areas of our project. Contribute to the discussion on the the new channel (see below) We decided to deliver this newsletter to all project members this month but only those with their names down here will get it delivered in the future. This is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue. Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned or post news on the next issue's talk page
Lastly, a new WikiProject Biography channel has been set up on the freenode network: Our thanks to Phoenix 15 for setting it up.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Rvhlogo.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Rvhlogo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:08, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Notability of Holly Meadows Elementary School
[edit]A tag has been placed on Holly Meadows Elementary School requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
