Congressional staff salary information

[edit]

"the process may take longer than several days"

No problem, as long as it is done in a reasonable time frame and without any bias. By the way, I noticed that the same link was posted on the page of a Congressional staffer (Jessica Cutler‎, not a member of Congress. I reverted it because I doubt that anyone will add it to every staffer's page, but if I misjudged please give me a rationale and I may revert my edit. Please use edit summaries

[edit]

I have noticed that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. Thanks! Qqqqqq (talk) 01:32, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FYI

[edit]

I noticed you are putting many, many links to that website into Wikipedia articles. I've asked administrators to review this, here:

Blocked IP

[edit]

I have added links to several senators who recently had their financial information brought into public's eye. After that I have been contacted by an editor who advised me that the I cannot add links only to a few congressmen, because the action is seen as biased. So I went ahead and added the links to all members of congress. The site has been reviewed by an administrator who did not see anything wrong with it. The site is a free site serving only to bring more transparency. So how is it that after all of these steps, I end up being blocked as a spammer? I did not add any irrelevant links to any of the congressmen pages.

I request to have my IP unblocked since I was following the guidelines provided by the WP editors. If, however, the consensus is that the links are inappropriate then they can be removed.

Here's the block information:

   * IP address: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:74.93.192.118
   * Blocking admin: Ryulong
   * Block reason: Spamming links to external sites
   * Block originally applied to: Lyoshka

This user requested on unblock-en-l that he be unblocked. I have raised the matter on WP:ANI. I believe it important to note that I am not disagreeing with your block, only stating that I am strongly leaning toward unblocking the user. Anyway, please direct your comments to WP:ANI. Thanks! --Yamla (talk) 21:47, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unblocked

[edit]

As per our discussion on unblock-en-l and after consulting with other admins on WP:ANI, I have lifted your block. Welcome back! --Yamla (talk) 03:48, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Great, thanks to you and all other admins for understanding. --Lyoshka (talk) 16:39, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
