Your edits on the PWD

[edit]

Thanks for your edits on Portuguese Water Dog, they do appear to be correct; however, it'd be good if you cited where you got that information from. One of the passages you edited has been tagged as being uncited for a decade for example. WP:CITE explains how to reference content. Traumnovelle (talk) 02:40, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure which passage was uncited, but I was asked to edit your entry's history portion for several errors. I obtained the correct information from my mother, who is Vasco Bensaude's daughter, making him my grandfather. MBensaudeF (talk) 02:49, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In that case you have a conflict of interest which needs to be declared. I checked a book that I presumed you got the information from and the changes you made were correct; however, you need to cite reliable sources on Wikipedia and cannot add information based on hearsay. It's my first time trying to amend anything on here. I am not sure what you want me to do. My intent was to provide correct information. It wasn't hearsay, as my mother knew these people. The name was incorrect - it's Frederico, the number of dogs taken by Conchita was incorrect, and the name Alvalade was misspelled several times. Again, the intent is to correct factual information. I didn't reverse your edits as they align with what a reliable source said. Wikipedia requires claims to be cited to a reliable source, first hand conversations with people do not count, published interviews/biographies do however. Traumnovelle (talk) 03:16, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the explanation. MBensaudeF (talk) 03:19, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
