More pedophile garbage
Constitutionality of sex offender registries in the United States POV fork. --DHeyward (talk) 16:04, 23 January 2016 (UTC)
- Oh I know...he keeps screeching about he's not a single purpose agenda pusher and we get more and more of that garbage. Its a sickening misuse of the website to promote softening of sex offender registries as well as apologetics for pedophilia. Makes me vomit.--MONGO 02:29, 24 January 2016 (UTC)

Want to have some fun with a FAC?
Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Thunder (mascot)/archive1 It's the pigskin pony, the superbowl saddler, the ... OK, I'm pinging some FAC reviewers. Hope you have fun. Montanabw(talk) 08:34, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
- I'm truly very time limited at present and what little time I do have is being spent trying to save an FA. I will proff read it soon and add comments if I come up with any.--MONGO 01:59, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
- No worries. Do as you see fit. If you need a gnome or a supporter at Banff, let me know, be glad to help, but I'm trying (not always succeeding) to wait to dive in until asked... ;-) Montanabw(talk) 23:44, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

- @Montanabw:...if you want to proofread Banff NP feel free. It still needs some copyediting I think, but most if not all the things that need cites have been taken care of.--MONGO 00:57, 7 March 2016 (UTC)

September 11
Out of curiosity, may I ask why you removed a substantial amount of content on September 11 attacks? Just wondering. Thanks, GABHello! 16:50, 29 March 2016 (UTC)

- @GeneralizationsAreBad:, taking a quick look at your additions, they should be attributed to author/claimant. Edits contain some controversial claims/possible conspiracy theories. I leave it to MONGO to further clarify. Spirit Ethanol (talk) 17:24, 29 March 2016 (UTC)

Invitation
Hi, Mongo!! I'm needing help and input for an exciting project that's in development. WP:Project Accuracy. I read that you're pretty busy these days, but if you get a moment please give it a look. There's a lot of information to take in, and I would suggest starting at the main page, then jump over to the discussion page and start at the bottom, slowly working your way up. Happy editing - and don't work too hard!! Atsme📞📧 14:57, 30 March 2016 (UTC)
- I will try to make suggestions but doubt I could do much better than SlimVirgin and others there have. I am super busy too...mostly due to work issues.--MONGO 18:21, 30 March 2016 (UTC)
I made a little detour on the way back from a project visit to see Asbury Park and Ocean Grove. Way cool, I'm going to have to do it again. Lots of pictures to upload and more I should have gotten, but I was particularly charmed to find Madam Marie's. Acroterion (talk) 03:44, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
- Indeed. It's cool it is still around and looks like Asbury Park is seeing a rejuvenating effort.--MONGO 00:38, 2 April 2016 (UTC)
- AP is in fact doing a lot better, though there are still lots of vacant lots. Most of the Jersey Shore looks pretty good nowadays, due to (no thanks to) Sandy. All of the badly damaged stuff got knocked down and replaced and most places have new paint and repairs. There are still a lot of abandoned damaged houses in Broad Channel in Jamaica Bay, though, which has received less concentrated attention. Acroterion (talk) 02:07, 2 April 2016 (UTC)
- It has been 30 years since I was last there. I have not seen the Atlantic at all since 1998. I do remember Madam Maries and just remember then how Asbury was so much less entertaining then (1980s) than places along the Delaware and Maryland beach's.--MONGO 14:10, 2 April 2016 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for April 14
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Mount Gabb, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sierra Nevada. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Gamaliel and others arbitration case opened
You recently offered a statement in a request for arbitration. The Arbitration Committee has accepted that request for arbitration and an arbitration case has been opened at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Gamaliel and others. The scope of this case is Gamaliel's recent actions (both administrative and otherwise), especially related to the Signpost April Fools Joke. The case will also examine the conduct of other editors who are directly involved in disputes with Gamaliel. The case is strictly intended to examine user conduct and alleged policy violations and will not examine broader topic areas. The clerks have been instructed to remove evidence which does not meet these requirements. The drafters will add additional parties as required during the case. Evidence that you wish the arbitrators to consider should be added to the evidence subpage, at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Gamaliel and others/Evidence.
Please add your evidence by May 2, 2016, which is when the evidence phase closes. You can also contribute to the case workshop subpage, Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Gamaliel and others/Workshop. For a guide to the arbitration process, see Wikipedia:Arbitration/Guide to arbitration. This notification is being sent to those listed on the case notification list. If you do not wish to recieve further notifications, you are welcome to opt-out on that page. Fort Niobrara National Wildlife Refuge
There is a discussion of the proposed merge dating back to October 2013, in which you said, "Sounds good to me...."! To state in an edit summary "revert unproposed or discussed move" is both misleading, since you apparently agreed at the time but then three years later changed your mind, and more than a little disingenuous. Mannanan51 (talk) 16:18, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. My opinion has changed more recently on this because I do think each wilderness, even ones that take up almost all of an area that is already under a different designation such as a park or forest, should have a stand alone article about the particular wilderness. I had not revisited that discussion as it simply did not pop up on my watch list.--MONGO 16:33, 9 May 2016 (UTC)

An arbitration case regarding Gamaliel and others has now closed and the final decision is viewable at the link above. The following remedies have been enacted:
- Gamaliel is admonished for multiple breaches of Wikipedia policies and guidelines including for disrupting Wikipedia to make a point, removing a speedy deletion notice from a page he created, casting aspersions, and perpetuating what other editors believed to be a BLP violation.
- DHeyward and Gamaliel are indefinitely prohibited from interacting with or discussing each other anywhere on Wikipedia, subject to the usual exemptions.
- DHeyward (talk · contribs) is admonished for engaging in incivility and personal attacks on other editors. He is reminded that all editors are expected to engage respectfully and civilly with each other and to avoid making personal attacks.
- For conduct which was below the standard expected of an administrator — namely making an incivil and inflammatory close summary on ANI, in which he perpetuated the perceived BLP violation and failed to adequately summarise the discussion — JzG is admonished.
- Arkon is reminded that edit warring, even if exempt, is rarely an alternative to discussing the dispute with involved editors, as suggested at WP:CLOSECHALLENGE.
- The community is encouraged to hold an RfC to supplement the existing WP:BLPTALK policy by developing further guidance on managing disputes about material involving living persons when that material appears outside of article space and is not directly related to article-content decisions.

Translation from Persian to English
Hi. Few people can translate Persian to English. How can I prove that that message published in an important national daily newspaper was translated correctly? Maadikhah (talk) 18:11, 4 September 2016 (UTC)
- It is something about Iran, so it is natural to use a resource in Persian. This is Mohammad Khatami's message about the attacks:
Hamshahri Newspaper - Report on Mohammad Khatami's Messege Regarding September 11 Attacks. 2001-09-12. (Persian). Hamshahri. 2001-09-12. Archived by Mohammad Sadeghi, Computer Science Department, University of Valladolid. Permanent Archived Link. Retrieved and archived on September 1, 2016. 5:39:57 PM UTC. Permanent Archived Link at WebCite. Translation by Google Translate.
Please guide me to add this resource, so that the statements there would be more verifiable. I am an ELT student and am fluent in English. I am an Iranian and my mother tongue is Persian. I have not used anything but my language knowledge in translation of this text. Thanks. Maadikhah (talk) 18:23, 4 September 2016 (UTC)

Response to 9/11 Notice by MONGO
Please take the time to look at the sources I used to cite the text that I added and you removed from the page. They are historical facts, not to be debated.
I understand that there is a problem with people defacing these article. A quick look at the history proves this. All I ask is that you make sure that you are able to separate the garbage from good information. I have not defaced the article. I am not a conspiracy theorist. I urge you to think critically for a moment; we must be vigilant and adhere to the truth.
I will be adding this content back into the article. What you do from there is up to you.
--Mannydantyla (talk) 14:27, 8 September 2016 (UTC)
- You cannot just state "They are historical fact, not to be debated" and "I will be adding this content back into the article". The Encyclopedia is a collaboration between editors and not a battleground. You risk being blocked from editing if you continue to edit war. Thank you, David J Johnson (talk) 16:31, 8 September 2016 (UTC)
I would like to refer MONGO and others to the following resources if you have not seem them already:
- - Especially the section on established editors within "Critiquing with guidelines and policies":
- "The appearance of cavalier rejection without explanation is inflammatory and may result in a hostile encounter on Talk pages that is hard to correct."
- ^^^ that one looks like a good read for you as well
- I'm learning that wikipedia "culture" is extremely institutional! And all you "established editors" need to understand that your hastily conceived reactions to my attempt to better an article is not well received.
Can we see where I'm coming from?
--Mannydantyla (talk) 00:39, 9 September 2016 (UTC)
- Sorry you feel that way.--MONGO 01:38, 9 September 2016 (UTC)
"See Also" on American Airlines flight 11 etc
I may have inadvertently touched off an edit war in the See Also section... since you seem an expert, do you think we should we link all the various airline flight pages on each of the other flight pages? Basically when I first hit the page I read the article, got to the bottom and wondered "huh what was the other plane called? no link?" Others may have the same issue or maybe I'm just being dumb : ) Hornpipe2 (talk) 21:12, 13 September 2016 (UTC)
- Traditionally it isn't necessary to add a link in the See Also section if that link is already provided in the body of the article. However, adding another isn't really a detriment to the article.--MONGO 21:32, 13 September 2016 (UTC)
- As a footnote to above, while it isn't as readily available, in the drop down box at the end of the article titled September 11 attacks, all the articles are also linked under the Hijacked airlines subsection.--MONGO 21:36, 13 September 2016 (UTC)

Franklin case
Hi Mongo,
Your reasons for totally deleting ALL my changes is unjustified. The references you cite as not reliable sources - ie Franklincase.com and Youtube, are actually references to the ITV Yorkshire Television documentary.
Most other references are to published books, and newspaper articles, such as the New York Times. I would ask you to reconsider this deletion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Toiredundemoshunal (talk • contribs) 05:35, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
- Its a contentious article and any changes implicating anyone, even indirectly or by insinuation requires discussion at that page beforehand. If you read through older discussions this has been a long standing issue there.--MONGO 05:41, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
- I understand that. Could you indicate where I have implicated anyone? Some of my changes are just adding subheadings and clarifying the chronology. No need to delete when it adds clarity? At this point, the article is incredibly fluffy. Also, can you direct me to the talk page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Toiredundemoshunal (talk • contribs) 05:55, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
- I recommend you seek further discussion at that article's talkpage...others may agree with you. I would avoid all discussion regarding King and the embezzle issues as that has all the appearances of guilt by association.--MONGO 06:04, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
- Its at the tab next to Article tab...also, if you look at the banners, there are 7 older archives of talkpages.--MONGO 06:07, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
- Well... OK. Larry King's name was on the page before I touched it.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Toiredundemoshunal (talk • contribs)
- Try opening up a discussion at Talk:Franklin child prostitution ring allegations. the page doesn't have a lot of followers, but much of what the "fable" entails has been widely discredited as a conspiracy theory.--MONGO 06:27, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
- OK, will do when I have the time. The page as it stands is sloppy. What is a BLP infraction? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Toiredundemoshunal (talk • contribs) 04:45, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
