You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for edit warring, as you did at Saturday Night Live season 50. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Daniel Quinlan (talk) 07:13, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Season 50 color to pink

[edit]

@Jgstokes I have already consulted with a user that I can change the color but only if it fits within the red spectrum. Dark pink does fit within that spectrum and also dark pink was already established on the List of Saturday Night Live episodes page. I have already made the claims that’s this crimson red looks too similar to season 22 so adding the dark pink it creates a difference and offers an originality. I would like to request the color of season 50 be officially dark pink. Mcleodaustin (talk) 04:15, 29 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 11:33, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And why? You didn’t like grey so I respected your decisions and went with a different color that fits into the spectrum of red. And also, like I said, it’s already been established on the “List of Saturday Night Live episodes” page that season 50 is dark pink. I don't know why you cannot just allow others to change something as minor as a color for a Wikipedia page? It’s not like I’m changing the entire page or adding in vulgar language. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with changing the color from crimson to a dark pink. The original color for season 48 was a dark green then it was changed to a midnight blue. No commotion was done there. Season 42 was originally an electric light blue but then it was changed to an orange-brown color. So why exactly can anyone not be allowed to change a color other than “because I said so” or “because I chose it”? Especially on a page that’s accessible to make changes. I don’t really see what the problem is and I don’t really understand why you cannot just allow others to change this one color. Mcleodaustin (talk) 13:05, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia:Lamest edit wars. Please do other things or just go away. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 13:07, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not a valid reason but okay. I’m just respecting what’s already been done on other page. I suggest you do the same as this shouldn’t be an issue when someone changes the color. You’re right, this is a lame edit war as I’m merely just making minor adjustments and you’re constantly making a big deal out of this. So I highly advise you to “do other things”. Thank you, have a nice day. Mcleodaustin (talk) 13:16, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
WP:AGF. You may want to familiarize yourself with how Wikipedia works before launching unwarranted attacks against any editor. And for the record, @Mcleodaustin, "consulting with an editor" outside of the talk page of the page in question does not a consensus make. A consensus can only be formed on the talk page and requires a majority opinion. So you should have taken this to the talk page of the article and worked to establish a consensus rather than "consulting with an editor" and continuing to be disruptive in your editing. You failed to discuss this on the relevant talk page when invited to do so, which also violates Wikipedia policies. This thread is about your actions, not those of @Koavf, who has policy and consensus on their side. I urge you again to familiarize yourself with how Wikipedia works before you continue editing here, as that will help you to avoid situations like this in the future. I am assuming good faith here, and my desire is for you to understand how Wikipedia works. User:Jgstokes (talk)—We can disagree without becoming disagreeable. 20:58, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What I’m not understanding is why is this even a problem when it’s a minor adjustment? He even said himself that this is a lame edit war and it is when someone can change something and it’s not a problem. I do not see what’s wrong with changing the color from crimson to pink. There’s no vaild reason he’s giving other than “because I said so” or “because I chose it”. If that’s the case, then others can change the color because “they chose to” or “because they said so”. If it’s not that big of a deal, then why is it a problem to change it? Mcleodaustin (talk) 21:14, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Because I said so is the valid reason. What is your valid reason for writing over and over and over again "season 50 will be gray"? Why?! Just leave it alone and do something else. Is this some kind of performance art or something? ―Justin (koavf)TCM 21:28, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not really. “Because I said so” is a meaningless response to an argument. It’s like going into a debate and someone argues with you on why you did what you did, you reply with “just because”. You would immediately lose. If someone wants to change the color, why shouldn’t they? I’ve made pages where the color was changed constantly, never said anything, but here it’s apparently a big deal. If you think it’s meaningless, then you should have no problem with anyone changing it. Also, what’s performative about changing a color? All of your reasonings behind what you do offer nothing valid. I want to change it because I think it would add a difference the season’s colors. And personally, it bothers me that the crimson for season 50 looks borderline identical to season 22’s color of red. I even suggested pink or salmon or anything that fits into the spectrum of red, and it didn’t seem like it was a problem to you. So I respected your needs and dropped grey for a dark shade of pink, perfect fits within the color spectrum of red and adds a difference between other seasons. A solution that works best for the both of us. It’s a Wikipedia page where anyone can make adjustments, changes, or add something new. And to tell to “go away” because I’m asking you why can’t the color change further signifies that your responds don’t have real meaning behind them. I have yet to hear why can’t anyone change it and why is it a problem for someone to change it without the answer “because I said so” or “go away and do something else”. I have my answers and reasons onto why I change the colors and that’s all I have to say on that. And also, I think dark pink would look a lot better for season 50. "Because I said so" is not meaningless. When someone starts an article, he has latitude about arbitrary stylistic choices so that stupid arguments like this won't happen. See MOS:CITEVAR, MOS:ENGVAR, MOS:RETAIN, etc. There is no reason on Earth why we should even be having this conversation in the first place, let alone why you've dragged it out for months. Note that you didn't actually answer the question I asked, which just shows how much of a waste of time it is talking to you at all. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 23:37, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You still have not answered a single question I asked of you so it’s completely a waste of time talking to you, since we are now going into childish behaviors. all I am wondering is why anyone can’t change something like a season color and you resulted into saying I’m a “waste of time” to talk to which is extremely unprofessional and can be taken up with administrators. “Because I said so” offers no real explanations onto things and doesn’t signify any reasons onto any actions being done. None of this would have happened if you would just let someone change the colors and move one. You’re right, it’s completely meaningless but you seem not allow others to make adjustments to a completely free page. Anyways, please refrain from any more uncalled for comments in the future. Thank you. Mcleodaustin (talk) 00:18, 2 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I ALREADY ANSWERED WHY YOU SHOULDN'T DO THIS. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 00:40, 2 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
