Reason for tagging

[edit]

Hi. I tagged the article for speedy deletion because the tone in which in which it was written was blatantly promotional. As stated in the deletion template, the content "would require a fundamental rewrite in order to become encyclopedic." Content many be considered promotional even if there is no monetary or material gain by the one doing it. To be suitable for inclusion from a neutral point of view (See WP:NPOV). The subject of an article should be described in objective terms. See, for example, MOS:PEACOCK for the sort of language to avoid. If you look at the earlier comments I added (which you deleted) there are links to other Wikipedia policies and guidelines. Help:Your first article is a good place to start. The page has been deleted now so I can't provide many specific examples from the draft you created, but you can most certainly describe a person's accomplishments objectively without using the sort of phrasing MOS:PEACOCK warns against. TornadoLGS (talk) 04:35, 31 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, from what I do remember of the page, describing someone as a "rising star" is an example of the sort of phrasing to avoid. TornadoLGS (talk) 04:41, 31 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The page Draft:Xavier Jordan Jr has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia.
