Rangers FC dispute

I'm not sure if you aware that there is a discussion about the Rangers dispute at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Football#Rangers_F.C to discuss whether there should be a single Rangers FC article instead of the two that presently exist for Rangers 1872-2012 and the Newco Rangers. Orphaned non-free media (File:CarlingPremiershipbig.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:CarlingPremiershipbig.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:05, 27 July 2012 (UTC)

The article N.F.C. Kesh has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of any notability, fails WP:N.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Police Community Support Officer not Police community support officer

The Association of Chief Police officers refers to PCSOs in capitals as does the Home Office see http://www.acpo.police.uk/documents/LPpartnerships/2007/200709LPPGonPCSO.pdf and http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/about-us/corporate-publications-strategy/home-office-circulars/circulars-2009/002-2009/--T9062856 (talk) 23:10, 3 October 2012 (UTC)

Policemen and civil servants in unnecessary capitalisation shocker. They're wrong: see the legislation. And that doesn't explain why you've capitalised "police constable". Mooretwin (talk) 08:41, 4 October 2012 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Dundonald International Ice Bowl, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Peter Robinson (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Rose Report

I'm trying to get some feedback at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Northern Ireland#Rose Report on the "Rose Report" which has been listed for several years on WikiProject Northern Ireland as an article in need of creation. I've had the request for information up since 20 August without response. At least we should be able to identify what it is so we can see if it really belongs on that list. Even if you don't know what it is, saying so would be a help. If we get enough of those, that will at least answer the question about its importance. Thanks in advance. --Bejnar (talk) 02:53, 12 October 2012 (UTC)

From CAIN:
A major survey was undertaken in 1968 by an American professor based in Glasgow, Richard Rose. This was published in his famous book on Northern Ireland, Governing Without Consensus. The survey covered a very wide range of political and social issues and provides an invaluable benchmark of conditions and attitudes in the last years of the Stormont regime and immediately prior to the ‘troubles’.
The survey included a section on housing conditions, and Professor Rose discovered what was later confirmed by the 1971 census, that is, that Catholics had a disproportionately large share of local authority houses. The advantage to Catholics was very marked in Belfast, which had a unionist council (19% of Catholics were in local authority houses compared with 9% of Protestants), and in areas with nationalist councils (39% of Catholics compared with 15% of Protestants). Elsewhere, Catholics and Protestants got an equal share of local authority houses. Professor Rose’s conclusion was that there was:
...no evidence of systematic discrimination against Catholics. The greatest bias appears to favour Catholics in areas controlled by Catholic councillors.

Result of the appeal you filed at WP:Arbitration enforcement

Please see the result of your appeal. You may now edit on the topic of British baronetcies, but your ban from WP:TROUBLES remains in place. The ban can be appealed every six months per the original terms. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 00:58, 17 October 2012 (UTC)

That's pathetic. You may as well have kept the full ban in place for all the difference that makes. A disproportionate ban imposed for an impetuous retaliatory complaint that doesn't allow me to edit in my areas of expertise - and then the ban is retained because I haven't demonstrated collaborative editing, yet I can't demonstrate collaborative editing while banned. Unbelievable. Mooretwin (talk) 21:06, 17 October 2012 (UTC)

British Home Championship

Your mass page moves should have been discussed first - please see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football#British Home Championship. GiantSnowman 10:50, 18 December 2012 (UTC)

It would be appreciated if you could fix the dashes and the template. GiantSnowman 17:57, 19 December 2012 (UTC)
I'm afraid I don't know how. Mooretwin (talk) 23:02, 19 December 2012 (UTC)
You need to move the articles to titles using – instead of -, and then make sure the links in the template actually go straight to the articles rather than via a redirect. You can do this by copy-pasting the article titles. It's a basic courtesy to fix template links when you move articles. Number 57 09:49, 20 December 2012 (UTC)
I notice you still haven't fixed this problem you created. Are you planning on doing it anytime soon? Number 57 10:29, 12 January 2013 (UTC)
I'm afraid I don't have time at present and I'm not really sure how to. What does "copy=pasing the article titles" mean? Feel free to do it yourself if you have time. Mooretwin (talk) 10:01, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
I mean just copy paste the dash if you don't know how to create it on your keyboard (alt+0150). I think it's a pretty poor show that you've created this mess and aren't willing to help resolve it. Number 57 20:23, 14 January 2013 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:Newry-CIty-Football-Club-badge.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Billy Humphries. The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:13, 29 April 2013 (UTC)

FFS give me a chance. I left a message on the Talk page. Mooretwin (talk) 09:06, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
Please read Wikipedia:Civility, Mooretwin. The editor above your comment here was a bot. In the other case you were reacting to a "real" editor. It's only asked that a source is provided for biographies of living people, and as an editor with 15,000+ edits and nearly five years on Wikipedia, you should know that. In the future you can include a reference when creating the article. Thanks, C679 10:21, 30 April 2013 (UTC)
I started to create the article and ran out of time. So I left a note on the Talk page to make it clear that I would be returning soon to finish the article. Obviously that was going to include adding the references. I wasn't even given 24 hours' breathing space before the messages began. Some people only have a limited amount of time to spend on WP - give us a break, we're only trying to improve the encyclopaedia. Thanks. Mooretwin (talk) 14:29, 30 April 2013 (UTC)

I have (re-)deleted the article. This has indeed to go via deletion review. Lectonar (talk) 08:55, 19 July 2013 (UTC)
Why did you delete it when it meets WP:FOOTY notability guidelines and without allowing sufficient time for discussion? Is it gone forever, can it be revived? Mooretwin (talk) 11:06, 19 July 2013 (UTC)
In cases like this, the applicable policy is WP:G4 - speedy deletion as a "recreation of a page that was deleted per a deletion discussion." However that criteria also says "This excludes ... pages to which the reason for the deletion no longer applies." In this case playing in a national cup meets WP:FOOTYN, though again, the more sources to establish the club's notability the better really. In this case, you should ask the deleting admin to review, as a credible claim of notability was made which was different from the original reason it was deleted and therefore G4 does not apply. If that doesn't work, go to deletion review. The content is not gone forever, an admin can send you a copy of it to work on in your user space. Valenciano (talk) 12:11, 19 July 2013 (UTC)

Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Non-free rationale for File:Shankill United badge.jpeg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Shankill United badge.jpeg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Proposed deletion of Cork United F.C. (1979)

The article Cork United F.C. (1979) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable club. No independent refs. No claim of notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You removed my PROD from the new article Cork United F.C. (1979) with this edit and the edit summary 'Rm speedy deletion. Club meets WP:FOOTBALL notability criteria, having played in national cup competition (FAI Cup)'. I'd like to point out (a) that the article was nominated for proposed deletion rather than speedy deletion (b) there remains no WP:Reliable source in the article with the claim that it was ever in the FAI Cup. Stuartyeates (talk) 22:07, 12 April 2015 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Railway Union Cricket Club, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

it does not show the importance of the organization in question

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Phoenix club (sports)

Hi. I noticed you added a number of clubs to this article. I have reverted your edits because none of the assertions you made were referenced. If you wish to add any back, please ensure you source each one to a reliable reference confirming the club is a phoenix club. Cork football teams

Just want to say I think you have made a pick ear's of merging both Evergreen United/Cork Celtic and Fordsons F.C./Cork F.C.. No problem with merging but if you are going to do it, do it probably. Whole chucks of their history have gone missing. The former clubs should at least have a named section/paragraph in the new merged article. I will have to come back and tidy up the mess you have made. DjlnDjln (talk) 15:29, 12 October 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for the encouraging comments. I wasn't aware of removing any of the history. Feel free to improve, but note that they are not former clubs, but merely name changes (hence the mergers). Mooretwin (talk) 15:45, 12 October 2015 (UTC)

Sheffield Eagles

Hi! Personally, I'm not that bothered either way if the Sheffield Eagles articles are separate or merged. I advised Northern Wonder to start a discussion rather than revert should you re-separate the articles. Hopefully, s/he will not start an edit war with you! If s/he does, as the more senior editor, I suggest you be the one to start the discussion and get the consensus, that way any further edit warring can easily be avoided. If this happens, to get the maximum comments, it may be worth having the discussion on the WikiProject Rugby League talk page with a link to it on the Sheffield articles talk page. Happy editing! :) RugbyXIII (talk) 15:04, 18 November 2015 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Template:Dojni requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is an unused duplicate of another template, or a hard-coded instance of another template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is not actually the same as the other template noted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page explaining how this one is different so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{substituted}}</noinclude>).

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page's talk page, where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Hi, I've just patrolled an article you created. Having had a look through some of your previous created articles it seems to me that you should apply for the Autopatrolled permission. My only amendments to the articles I patrolled were to reuse references using reFill, and to add appropriate projects on the talk pages. Regards, Cabayi (talk) 16:21, 6 February 2017 (UTC)
