Thanks for watching my back
Gee, do I get to be in a category of Wikipedians whose talk pages have been vandalized? Thanks for the catch and revert! dhett (talk • contribs) 07:51, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
GSN
Thanks for the info. That's ...mighty, um, "special" of him. In a way, I have to say I appreciate socks more than just plain vandals; they're easier to ban. But of course, there are so many more of them... :::sigh::: I guess one Mmbabies isn't enough, or something. I'll keep an eye out.... Gladys J Cortez 18:56, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Truthfully, I'd never run into this doofus before. Didn't even know who Gsnguy was; ACMEMan just honked me off with his edits. I'm impressed; I've earned my first attack page, and been forced to run my first checkuser! Look Ma, I'm a REAL Wikipedian now!! :) No apologies necessary, at any rate. (At least I don't think he tried to change MY password.) I really never thought there'd be anyone much worse than Mmbabies...perhaps I should cultivate my pessimism!Gladys J Cortez 22:30, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- Didja see?? Didja see???? Look what we found:
- Note: this is the same case as currently posted at Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/IP check
- Confirmed - ACMEMan (talk · contribs), ACMEMan2 (talk · contribs), Gsnguy (talk · contribs), Gsnguy2 (talk · contribs), Gsnguy3 (talk · contribs), Gsnguy5 (talk · contribs), WGSN-TV (talk · contribs), Eartha Brute (talk · contribs), Judge John (talk · contribs), Judge Jones (talk · contribs), TheMachinethatcantrackGsnguy (talk · contribs), VicTheSlick (talk · contribs), Shit99 (talk · contribs), AYuckyMachine (talk · contribs), BotMachine (talk · contribs), BotMachine3 (talk · contribs)
- Unrelated - 67.135.27.111 (talk · contribs · 67.135.27.111 WHOIS)
wOOt! Good work!! (Now, if they'd found he was ALSO Mmbabies...now THAT would have been EXTRA-spectacular! But this is awesome...)Gladys J Cortez 01:16, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
- I took a look at the contributions from your IP-password-changer. First: that is SO GREAT that you found the IP in that e-mail...talk about a slam-dunk! And second: I was nearly ready to cry when I saw the IPs early edits, til I realized they were nearly 3 yrs old--I would have been CRUSHED if our vandal turned out to be a NASCAR fan.
Anyhow--thanks! Best possible outcome....woohoo!Gladys J Cortez 02:49, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
- Hey, guess what? I just checked my e-mail, and Doofus tried to change MY password, too!!! coolness... lol! What a charmer...Did you see the list of additional Checkuser results, the ones that Alison found after the original scan? Makes me proud...Gladys J Cortez 22:51, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
WBNX
Hello Mrschimpf! In regard to the CW affiliate list and the owner of WBNX, please notice that Winston Broadcasting Network has a page here in Wikipedia and therefore there is no need to list two owners of WBNX, because legally there is only one - Winston Broadcasting Network. It being a subsidiary of Ernest Angley Ministries is noted on the Winston Broadcasting Network page. WBNX is only owned by Winston Broadcasting Network and not by both Winston Broadcasting Network and Ernest Angley Ministries (this is public record). Winston Broadcasting's main investor is Ernest Angley Ministries as noted on its page, but they are seperate companies and operate independently. If you have any questions don't hesitate to discuss with me the legalities and I'll be glad to answer. Television Week 16:30, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for figuring out the right way to fix the link. I am not a South Park viewer. Shenme (talk) 03:09, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
Hi, may be you can explain what is going on here being a recent contributor to the articles. It appears that the contents of WRRD has been cut & pasted into WAUK by another user rather than been moved. This action leaves the histories of the articles in the wrong place.
May be you could indicate if the intention of this was to switch the 2 articles round or was it an attempt at a merge? May be WAUK original information is no longer valid/required but I cannot determin this from the histories. Keith D (talk) 13:46, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Suspected Sockpuppet
i noticed you added the suspected sockpuppet template to User talk:BringDaPain. I have opened a case Wikipedia:Suspected_sock_puppets#User:BringDaPain about this, as i believe this is a sockpuppet of User:Whatsthebignew. Are you aware of any other suspect accounts to add to the report? --neonwhite user page talk 04:02, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
re: your msg on my talkpg
Thanks for the vote of confidence! (Say, I saw your barnstar above--is MMb still hanging around?? I thought he'd been squashed...pity the Texas authorities didn't see him as being worth their while.) Take care! Gladys J Cortez 01:06, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
Thank you
Thank you for the warning - I was unaware that this user had something of a history of doing that kind of thing. Not that I can see why anyone would love the number 51, but there you go. I will make sure that I keep an eye on pages similar to this in the future. Bobo. 08:48, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

What part of "female" does this nit not understand? And that attempt at being unblocked was...Words fail me. Gladys J Cortez 01:22, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Brace yourself...

Awesome job on the GSN front!!! I will be SO thrilled if he doesn't devil us any more...(and how bout that MMb issue?? I didn't realize so much drama was happening!)Gladys J Cortez 16:40, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Hi Mrschimpf,
I wanted to stop by because I just declined the WP:CSD#G11 tag you placed on the article above. Adapting information from an external website is completely permissible--the difference between this and a blatant copyright infringement is is that the vast majority (think 80%, 90%) of the text in a G11 speedy is a word-for-word copy of the source.
I can appreciate that you would like this article deleted, but the speedy deletion criteria were intentionally designed to apply only in the most clearcut cases so as to ensure that potentially valuable content is not lost--this is why books, movies, etc. are explicitely excluded from the A7 criteria. As such, I can only recommend that you take it to AfD for broader scrutiny. Thanks! --jonny-mt 06:44, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
Edith Bunker mentality :)
(from my talk pg)--You know, I ALSO totally caught that, and giggled a bit as well. (Now, our friend GSN--THAT is a prime example of mm-mm-mmmm-mming. But I wasn't going to bring that up in the thread, because "YOU were'nt wiki-stalked--I know, because IIIIIII was WIKI-STALKED" is one of the lamest, whiniest arguments imaginable, IMHO.) Also, what is wrong with the BIA links? New World Man (talk) 01:36, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
The BIA links
These links give mailing and street addresses as well as telephone numbers. That's why I think they are a good addition. New World Man (talk) 02:03, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- So do the websites of the television stations themselves, which are usually updated much more often if there's a change than BIA, which is inherently subject to not being updated if a change is made. We don't need to link to every bit of detail for a television station. Keep it general, keep it brief, keep it concise. We're an encyclopedia first and foremost, and we should keep it that way. Nate • (chatter) 02:06, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- But I think that type of information may be hard to find on some stations' websites. Plus, some station websites don't list that information at all. And what about those stations that don't have websites of their own at all? New World Man (talk) 02:09, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- We have enough external links as it is, and as I just said, we don't need to provide every piece of information possible. Just keep it simple, please. That's what we're trying to tell you.
- As for a station which doesn't have a website; the address can be found through the FCC link, or a simple Google search. These days only the smallest of stations do not have a website. Nate • (chatter) 02:14, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- The FCC does not keep records of studio or mailing addresses or telephone numbers, the addresses listed on FCC records are the addresses of the license holding companies, which are often not in the metro area that the specific station serves. I thought this was supposed to be something of a one-stop place to find information. New World Man (talk) 02:17, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- Also, how do you build a consensus with editors? New World Man (talk) 02:41, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- But I think that type of information may be hard to find on some stations' websites. Plus, some station websites don't list that information at all. And what about those stations that don't have websites of their own at all? New World Man (talk) 02:09, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
Okay, THAT's a new one for me!
I had never heard of Miss BG til you mentioned it. I am now EXCEEDINGLY grateful that I have no access to this particular show. Thank heavens! :)Gladys J Cortez 22:04, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
Wisconsin Public Television
Hello- I have read and understand the rules. I am unaffiliated with the organization, nor do I hold any beefs with those stations. I am merely trying to improve the article to reflect the truth of the entry. The paragraph on the article about those stations carrying some programming is enough to display their "affiliation" with WPT.
That said, WPT is a self-contained network within the PBS system and to muddy it up with outside stations is a disservice to the truth. If we are to include MPTV and WDSE as affiliates for WPT simply because they play a couple of WPT's programs, then we should also include WPT as an affilite of WGBH Boston and WETA Washington simply because WPT plays some of their programs. That would be absurd and more importantly untrue -- just like including detailed information on MPTV and WDSE as affiliates of WPT is. And, I see the threat of blocking me from editing this article on the basis of this being an "impartial" encyclopedia as a ridiculous threat that only works to protect your apparent bolstering of these two stations. Why should your assertions of their affiliation be any more valid than my assertions of them not being affiliates, especially when I back this up with fact? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sunprairie (talk • contribs) 21:28, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
My Network Tv List
First let me say I agree with you totally on network lists. I noticed a few days ago that COL was put before that on some of the NBC stations. I took them out as like I said I agree with you COL is not important in a network list. COL just means a station has to cover that city with a "city grade signal" and ID it at or near the top of the hour. Many things such as programming for COL is now done away with. Anyways I edited it and a member by the name Rollosmokes kept changing it back and stated COL was important on these lists. I just want to make sure its all uniform. I mean we can not have NBC affiliates list their COL and other networks not. Oak999 (talk) 09:00, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
I have a question for you. As stated I agree that we need for Networks to put market and not COL and I did change them but was told angerly by Rollosmokes that the COL has to come first on these lists. My question is are we doing this the same way for the lists of owners? Such as WOIO-TV and Raycom? Seen here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raycom_Media
CoolKid1993
I wanted to let you know that I registered a complaint against User talk:CoolKid1993 in Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard as he posted a similarly poorly designed Whirlpool Corporation logo in that article. Steelbeard1 (talk) 23:28, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
Seriously?
You really think this is a good precedent? I'll defer to you on this one, but...ooh. I gotta say, this one made me squirm a little. Gladys J Cortez 23:30, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- Probably a good idea to revert, if only because it will keep people from adding descriptions (real and imaginary) to other products. Poor Arthur gets too much abuse as it is. :) Gladys J Cortez 00:08, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

Thank you
Thank you for your speedy close and redirect of my AfD nomination for the article on WNYP-TV. I was unaware that this was absorbed by another Jamestown TV station -- the research I did failed to bring that up. I was curious to know how you located this information -- this way, I won't repeat this type of TV-related AfD in the future. Many thanks! Ecoleetage (talk) 12:32, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Actually, I think we have another vandal on our hands. Mexican Sponge's work was eerily similar to vandalism I had to deal with a while ago, and sure enough - it was done by one Jorgito0246, plus similar work and a warning I left with RadioDisney0246. Guy's from Tucson; I wonder if he's also responsible for the El Con Mall vandalism as well? dhett (talk • contribs) 06:11, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
