Your a music lover..Please help with editting DJ Mell Starr/Sandbox
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
Hello, Can you please help. I am new to Wikipedia and I am somewhat lost.
1. I would like for you to please edit the written content for DJ Mell Starr located in the DJ Mell Starr/sandbox area. 2. After your edit, can you tell me if it's good enough to move to the User Page? My first User Page was deleted by an Admin for so many different reasons. Since then I have tried to clean it up and get it ready for production. 3. Another editor told me it was already in production on the User Page but I don't see it...therefore I am VERY confused.
4. I have a questions about the citations needed....when we are finished with 1 thru 3.
---My signature does not work and I have no idea why. At the end of this sentence I will put four tildes> DJ Mell Starr 14:51, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

Bored? :D
I remember reading somewhere something about Mr little irish looking for things to do. I though you might be interested in the cure for Wikiboredom. benzband (talk) 17:51, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
Do you think you could change "open for students" to a number? I don't know why, but it kind of annoys me that everyone has a number and you're continually open. Thanks. Dan653 (talk) 20:10, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
- That's just my preference. I don't see why it should annoy you. I just don't think I would get swamped. If there is consensus to do so, I'll change it, otherwise it could just be you that's getting annoyed over something silly. I'll drop Achowat a message tomorrow. MrLittleIrish (talk) 申 20:29, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
- As I look back "annoy" might not have been the right word maybe irk (nah that's bad too) (O I have it,) pet peeve. Reason being there are people who have never had a student and you could (in theory) take up everyone elses student since you are "open." Just my thoughts. Dan653 (talk) 01:34, 17 May 2012 (UTC) P.S. I noticed you haven't spoken to Acho, and I left a talk page message on his talk, three days ago and he hasn't responded. Have you heard from him?
- He has been talking on my talk page just yesterday, I think he's been busy with RL though. And I'm open for students because I just don't put a cap on. You can do the same, or you can keep your number. At the moment, I'm letting all students be instructed by others before me. MrLittleIrish (talk) 申 08:14, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Wax buildup

I see your question was blanked out here: [1]. I disagree that over-the-counter remedies require a doctor's advice. If they did, you would need a prescription for them.
The most common method which is actually recommended (unlike Q-tips/"cotton buds", which supposedly aren't to be inserted into the ear) is use of drops formulated to dissolve the wax. Warming the liquid up first will help, too. Your locally pharmacy/chemist should have those. And, like I implied, no prescription is required. This technique is rather messy, though, which is why many use the method you tried. StuRat (talk) 16:52, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) From past experience i would say try to avoid sticking objects such as fingers/buds into your ear canal, lest you damage the skin (can end up with a boil). And please delete this post if it infringes any RD medical rules . benzband (talk) 21:19, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
- Note that StuRat has a long history of fighting against the rules about giving medical advice on the Reference Desks, and also of offering his own unqualified, unsupported, unreferenced opinions. I would strongly advise you against following either his advice or his example. TenOfAllTrades(talk) 14:55, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
- TenOfAllTrades. I see your comments as a personal attack on StuRat and they are unwanted here. Please redact your statement. I have come across you only once before, and in my honest opinion, your lack of AGF is particularly unfriendly. I don't care how you and StuRat have interacted in the past, I don't want the drama on my talkpage. Thank you for understanding.
- On another note, I asked for advice, not answers. And if you look anywhere on the internet (like I did after you struck my question) most sites have the exact same answers as StuRat and benzband. This also is not article space, so any comment made here does not have to be sourced to meet any guidelines. Again, thank you for understanding. MrLittleIrish (talk) 申 15:08, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
- I disagree with your assessment of TOAT's comments. Wikipedia editors who provide medical or legal advise, even on talk pages, make the WMF liable for legal action. As such, your request for such information, and any answer, should be blanked and, from a Wiki perspective, ignored. If you ignore the dealings you've had with TOAT in the past, you'll see that his comments are exactly what we should expect to hear from editors. Achowat (talk) 15:27, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not taking past occurances between myself and TOAT into account. Infact I have no standing problems with TOAT as an editor or a person. However, I see that as a personal attack on StuRat and I don't want it on my talk page. I don't like removing other editors comments, so I am leaving that up to TOAT to do. He may be correct in terms of the medical advice side of things, but there are civil ways about dealing with things. Incivility isn't needed. MrLittleIrish (talk) 申 15:33, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
- (ec) My assessment is the result of StuRat's actions, and his long history of attempting to subvert the Ref Desk's guidelines on medical advice. His post above is indeed unreferenced (lacking in references) and unqualified (given that he is a computer programmer rather than any sort of medical professional), and therefore unsupported. He has consistently found himself on the wrong side of those guidelines; offering his medical advice on your talk page is just another one of the ways that he has decided to continue his irresponsible behavior—I would likely have been less blunt if there wasn't such a long-standing problem invovling this particular editor. He is free to give whatever advice he wants to in private or on his own websites (however ethically questionable that might be), but he should not do so here. It's not some anonymous 'StuRat' that gets hurt by dubious, anonymous advice; it's the real people who take it, and the encyclopedia project where he dispenses it. See also Wikipedia:Reference desk/Guidelines/Medical advice, User:TenOfAllTrades/Why not?, User:Kainaw/Kainaw's criterion. I won't further darken your talk page. TenOfAllTrades(talk) 15:46, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
- Also important, is that just because something isn't civil, doesn't mean it's a personal attack. Achowat (talk) 15:49, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
- It's done with now. No point dragging it on. For anybody interested, I went to the pharmacy and asked them what they reccomended. I got some eardrops and they're fecking useless, and I'm still dizzy ans nauseus. MrLittleIrish (talk) 申 15:56, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry to hear that. It was worth a try, in any case. Did you warm them up first ? If the over-the-counter remedies don't work, then it is time to go to the doctor. As for TOAT's attack on me, he has a history of setting the rules himself, rather than following the consensus, by using his Admin status to threaten and/or block anyone who disagrees with his incorrect assessment of non-medical advice as medical advice. I try to disengage from this individual, but, as you can see, he follows me even here. StuRat (talk) 16:05, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

Counter-Vandalism Unit in the Signpost
The WikiProject Report would like to focus on the Counter-Vandalism Unit for a Signpost article. This is an excellent opportunity to draw attention to your efforts and attract new members to the project. Would you be willing to participate in an interview? If so, here are the questions for the interview. Just add your response below each question and feel free to skip any questions that you don't feel comfortable answering. Multiple editors will have an opportunity to respond to the interview questions, so be sure to sign your answers.
