Speedy deletion nomination of Allison Ball
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Allison Ball requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. DGG ( talk ) 09:18, 4 November 2015 (UTC)

WikiCup 2015: The results
WikiCup 2015 is now in the books! Congrats to our finalists and winners, and to everyone who took part in this year's competition.
This year's results were an exact replica of last year's competition. For the second year in a row, the 2015 WikiCup champion is Godot13 (submissions) (FP bonus points). All of his points were earned for an impressive 253 featured pictures and their associated bonus points (5060 and 1695, respectively). His entries constituted scans of currency from all over the world and scans of medallions awarded to participants of the U.S. Space program. Cwmhiraeth (submissions) came in second place; she earned by far the most bonus points (4082), for 4 featured articles, 15 good articles, and 147 DYKs, mostly about in her field of expertise, natural science. Cas Liber (submissions), a finalist every year since 2010, came in third, with 2379 points.
Our newcomer award, presented to the best-performing new competitor in the WikiCup, goes to Rationalobserver (submissions). Everyone should be very proud of the work they accomplished. We will announce our other award winners soon.
A full list of our award winners are:
- Godot13 (submissions) (FP bonus points) wins the prize for first place and the FP prize for 330 featured pictures in the final round.
- Cwmhiraeth (submissions) wins the prize for second place and the DYK prize for 160 did you knows in the final round (310 in all rounds).
- Cas Liber (submissions) wins the prize for third place and the FA prize for 26 featured articles in all rounds.
- West Virginian (submissions) wins the prize for fourth place
- Calvin999 (submissions) wins a final 8 prize.
- Rationalobserver (submissions) wins a final 8 prize.
- Harrias (submissions) wins a final 8 prize and the FL prize for 11 featured lists.
- Rodw (submissions) wins the most prizes: a final 8 prize, the GA prize for 41 good articles, and the topic prize for a 13-article good topic and an 8-article featured topic, both in round 3.
- ThaddeusB (submissions) wins the news prize for the most news articles in round 3.
We warmly invite all of you to sign up for next year's competition. Discussions and polls concerning potential rules changes are also open, and all are welcome to participate. The WikiCup judges will be back in touch over the coming months, and we hope to see you all in the 2016 competition. Until then, it only remains to once again congratulate our worthy winners, and thank all participants for their involvement! Eagles of Death Metal
Greetings,
Re: waiting for consensus on the Content added to the Eagles of Death Metal:
There has not been any discussion on this topic all day, so I've added a note to the talk page and asked if this discussion is, in fact, completed and we've reached consensus, and then invited comments.
If no one objects in the next few hours, I'll restore the removed content and (probably) add at least another source (a New York Times article). If you have any objections or suggestions, please feel free to communicate either via my talk page or on the article's talk page.
Also, I just want to say that one of your 'check-in comment dialogs' with another editor -- in which he writes to your 'In the name of Jesus Christ ....' and your response containing 'I'm Jewish' is one of the funniest exchanges I've seen in awhile. Thank you very much for that.
All the best.

Edit war on Margaret Sanger
Hello.
When I'm reverted twice, I don't appreciate very much to be accused of edit warring. I explained that birth control activism was already stated in the resume, and that she taught also as a nurse, but she was also famous for her columns, as it is stated in the text. So I don't feel your reverts were appropriated. But don't worry, I give up. --La femme de menage (talk) 01:41, 21 November 2015 (UTC)

Quick question
Hi, thanks for the "thanks", and you're welcome. Quick question: did you (a) intentionally thank me 3 times for the same edit, (b) accidentally thank me 3 times for the same edit, but knew you'd done it, or (c) only thank me once, and MediaWiki is acting up yet again and notified me 3 times? (It's certainly no big deal, and I'm not complaining!) I ask because someone I'm not really on good terms with thanked me 4 times for an edit a week or two ago, and although it would have made sense for them to thank me once, as a kind of olive branch, I kind of assumed they were being a jerk because of the number. Now that you thanked me 3 times, I'm wondering if the poor guy wasn't trying to annoy me, but was made to look bad by the software. Makes me feel kind of bad, and very glad I dropped it and didn't go complain about them somewhere... --Floquenbeam (talk) 21:02, 4 December 2015 (UTC)
- I think (b), or maybe (c). It didn't immediately go through, so I might've clicked it more than once. It could be a software problem, hopefully that editor wasn't being a jerk. – Muboshgu (talk) 21:16, 4 December 2015 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks. Embarrassingly, I misremembered what happened; the editor I had in mind only thanked me once and I couldn't figure out his intentions, and another editor thanked me 4 times for something, and I never bothered to ask them why. Got them conflated in my aging brain. So I'm pretty sure it was a software glitch for both of you. Anyway, thanks, and cheers. --Floquenbeam (talk) 21:32, 4 December 2015 (UTC)

Why remove my revision when before I even entered the page it had labeled him a San Diego Padre. All I did was add his updated info, nothing more. You should check better at who puts players with their new team without even putting; 1)a source 2) for who they were traded for and the date and 3) why put just the name of their new team on their profile box but not update anything else? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 1remains (talk • contribs) 22:12, December 10, 2015
- I removed it because you didn't source it. You should include a source if you don't want to see your edits reverted. Remember the other day when everyone was sure Aroldis Chapman was traded? He wasn't. I will revert any unsourced addition of that sort without question and won't apologize for it. – Muboshgu (talk) 03:16, 11 December 2015 (UTC)

Please cut out the "conservative" characterization
First of all, its none of your business and second of all, I'm a card carrying member of the Liberal Party of Canada. So, if you feel compelled to use ad hominem characterizations, at least be correct, please. I'm not really mad, actually it always seems odd and interesting to me to see how some people are so quick to assume things about other people and throw a label on them and how more often than not the labels don't fit, e.g. with McCarthyism. If you wish to enjoy some personal growth, I'd suggest trying to go a day without assuming anything about anybody; and then a week; and then a month...get the idea? I'm just trying to be of use to you and your editing accomplishments with this suggestion. Nocturnalnow (talk) 05:02, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
- You're right that I shouldn't use labels. I apologize. I wanted to say "you with the anti-Clinton agenda", since you clearly have one, but that was a bit cumbersome to type. There's no assumption in that, your behavior does speak for itself. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:37, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
- I do not have an anti-Clinton agenda. I just think there is a tendency among editors to give high level U.S. politicians a non NPOV positive slant on their BLPs. Its obvious I think. Just look at the difference between Nixon's lede and Putin's. Putin's BLP is much more NPOV I think, whereas Nixon, both Bushes and both Clintons' ledes are over-weighted on the positive and puffy. If I am correct, its likely a natural result from a majority of editors who look up to the office of President of the United States and the people who occupy it; I don't have that predisposition. WikiCup 2016 is just around the corner...
Hello everyone, and we would like to wish you all a happy holiday season. As you will probably already know, the 2016 WikiCup begins in the new year; there is still time to sign up. There are some changes we'd like to announce before the competition begins.
After two years of serving as WikiCup judge, User:Miyagawa has stepped down as judge. He deserves great thanks and recognition for his dedication and hard work, and for providing necessary transition for a new group of judges in last year's Cup. Joining Christine (User:Figureskatingfan) and Jason (User:Sturmvogel 66) is Andrew (User:Godot13), a very successful WikiCup competitor and expert in Featured Pictures; he won the two previous competitions. This is a strong judging team, and we anticipate lots of enjoyment and good work coming from our 2016 competitors.
We would also like to announce one change in how this year's WikiCup will be run. In the spirit of sportsmanship, Godot13 and Cwmhiraeth have chosen to limit their participation. See here for the announcement and a complete explanation of why. They and the judges feel that it will make for a more exciting, enjoyable, and productive competition.
The discussions/polls concerning the next competition's rules will be closed soon, and rules changes will be made clear on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring and talk pages. The judges are committed to not repeating the confusion that occurred last year and to ensuring that the new rules are both fair and in the best interests of the competition, which is, first and foremost, about improving Wikipedia.
If you have any questions or concerns, the judges can be reached on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, on their talk pages, or by email. We hope you will all join us in trying to make the 2015 WikiCup the most productive and enjoyable yet. You are receiving this message because you are listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Asking for advice
Any idea on how to handle things like [[1]]? You seem to have more experience with the crazies than I do. Taffe316 (talk) 07:36, 26 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Taffe316: Pretty much handle it the way you're handling it, matter of fact and relying on WP:V and WP:CRYSTAL. I'd try to mention some of the notable deals that fell through. Seriously people already forgot about Iwakuma? – Muboshgu (talk) 17:02, 26 December 2015 (UTC)
- Yeah I guess they did forget about that already, even though it was like a week ago. Alright well thanks man, I appreciate it. Taffe316 (talk) 22:43, 26 December 2015 (UTC)

Joakim Soria, December 2015
Hello, I'm Iknowthegoods. You recently undid an edit I made to the page Joakim Soria, claiming that I had added premature information about a reported sports transaction. I beg to differ. The transaction is NOT based on anonymous sources and HAS been officially announced. I have since gone ahead and re-update the article, and have included a cite a reliable source. If you still believe I have made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. – Iknowthegoods (talk) 23:48, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
- I was just wondering why, after I updated my Joakim Soria contribution and added citations, you went back and again deleted it? The first time you let me know and told me what I needed to do, etc. The second time, there was no explanation. I'm asking honestly, because if what I added was STILL unfit, even with the cited source and whatnot, I'd like to know for future reference. Please let me know at your earliest convenience. Thank you. . – Iknowthegoods (talk) 03:55, 22 December 2015 (UTC)
- Still waiting for a response. Do I need to start a new topic on your talk page? – Iknowthegoods (talk) 03:55, 30 December 2015 (UTC)

Follow-up re: Joakim Soria
Hello! I was hoping you could refer to (and answer) my question regarding my contributions to the Joakim Soria page. You can find the information and the question in the Joakim Soria, 2015 section above. Thank you. – Iknowthegoods (talk) 23:48, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
- Sorry I missed that earlier post, and just now got back from a holiday break. I'll check into it. – Muboshgu (talk) 20:30, 30 December 2015 (UTC)
- If you're referring to this edit, it's because it wasn't an official transaction yet. That was December 9. The deal was made official on December 10, the day he passed his physical exam. That exam is a prerequisite for any deal's completion, as failed physicals have tanked agreed-upon deals before (see Grant Balfour for an example). – Muboshgu (talk) 20:32, 30 December 2015 (UTC)
Thank you!
Hey there! Hopefully I'm doing this right. Thanks for correcting my mistake. I was informed that someone was coming right after me and filling out the page Frank Edelblut with information from frankedelblut.com... but I guess he didn't show up. I was planning on adding the reference after I finished some work I was doing. For now look it up was so it didn't get removed. I wanted people to know that it was a real thing. Leggomygreggo8 (talk) 18:40, 4 January 2016 (UTC)
- No, read WP:BLP. Some random Twitter users claiming that he cheated doesn't belong in his bio, even with a source. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:49, 4 January 2016 (UTC)
There are articles about it, it's just the original photos were posted on Twitter, and then loads of sites made articles on it. Leggomygreggo8 (talk)
- Those "loads of sites" don't follow Wikipedia's guidelines for handling biographies. They post whatever they want to post, and we have to be selective in what we incorporate. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:55, 4 January 2016 (UTC)

WikiCup 2016: Game On!
We are about to enter the second week of the 2016 WikiCup. The most recent player to sign up brings the current total to 101 contestants. Signups close on 5 February. If you’re interested, you can join this year's WikiCup here.
We are aware that in some areas the scoring bot’s numbers are a little bit off (i.e., overly generous) and are working to have that corrected as soon as possible.--MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:04, 7 January 2016 (UTC)

What?
Why did you take my edit away on Daniel Murphy? Mets1237 (talk) 20:52, 7 January 2016 (UTC)
- Because it was unsourced and redundant with the existing sourced info. I should have included that in my edit summary but I accidentally completed the edit without one. – Muboshgu (talk) 20:54, 7 January 2016 (UTC)

Jason Rapert WP
I attempted to add a reference to an online video posted by MSNBC back in 2013.... I am pretty new to WP editing, and must have done it incorrectly.. my bad. It appears I am no longer able to edit anything on the page. Sorry for my errors... is this something you can do?
The section I wanted to edit was:
Position on reproductive law Main article: Fetal heartbeat bill § Arkansas Rapert authored a bill to ban all abortions in Arkansas after twelve weeks of pregnancy.[5] In 2013, a federal judge stopped the law from being implemented, saying it was likely unconstitutional.[6]
I would like to add"Senator Rapert garnered nationwide attention on the issue when Rachel Maddow from MSNBC News picked up the story.
